Mueller Will Testify in Front of Congress on July 17

Mueller said many times before that he would not testify.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller agreed to testify in front of the House Intelligence and Judiciary committees on July 17 after the chairmen issued a subpoena.

*This is breaking news. I will update as more information comes out…

From Axios:

Mueller previously said that he preferred not to testify and that his 400-page report would function as his testimony. After weeks of negotiations between the former special counsel’s team and House Democrats, a subpoena is what ultimately broke the deadlock.

“Pursuant to subpoenas issued by the House Judiciary and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence tonight, Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III has agreed to testify before both Committees on July 17 in open session.

“Americans have demanded to hear directly from the Special Counsel so they can understand what he and his team examined, uncovered, and determined about Russia’s attack on our democracy, the Trump campaign’s acceptance and use of that help, and President Trump and his associates’ obstruction of the investigation into that attack.

“We look forward to hearing his testimony, as do all Americans.”

Mueller spoke out for a bit after he released his report on his investigation into supposed collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia. He ended the press conference with, “The report is my testimony.”

Attorney General William Barr said that he did not have a problem if Mueller testified before Congress.

So much for “my report is my testimony”.

But I suppose that if he’s subpoenaed, doesn’t he have to testify? Really Trump should claim executive privilege, since his appointment as Special Counsel was under the AG, in the executive branch. Or maybe AG Barr can instruct him not to be informative.

I don’t see what legitimate lawmaking function Congress has in grilling this former executive branch appointee.

The House Judiciary Committee must have some legitimate interest in investigations preliminary to drawing up articles of impeachment…

Perhaps it makes Trump a bad president to publicly and legally have no issue with Mueller testifying as subpoenaed. Perhaps. But he certainly derives no personal benefit from lifting a single finger to stop it. If Barr has a problem, Barr will let him know, just like with the predicate investigation re: FISA/ spying.

I’m curious if they will allow Republicans to ask questions.

Republicans on the committees get to ask questions too. Perhaps we’ll finally get some hard questions asked, though probably not answered.

I wanna know under what conditions this corrupt a55hole is testifying.

Did Barr give him immunity? There are some verifiable lies or deceptions in his report which Republicans should be asking about

Mr Mueller, why did you select only Democrats to be on the team? Why FBI agents which showed distinct animus to trump?
Why was the dossier minimized? Why did you say Misfud was a Russian agent when he works for Italian intelligence and is an FBI/State conduit? When did you realize there was no collusion by Trump? Why did you not inform the trial court that the contact by Trump’s attorney clearly did not seek to obstruct your investigation as that sentence was omitted from the transcripts? Were there any other such omissions by your attorneys? Please recite your understanding of the third secret memo to yourself by Rosenstein. Please recite each and every communication you have had with James Comey since October of 2016 and indicate which were written or memorialized. Rosenstein. Adam Schiff. Strzok. McCabe. Brenner. President Obama. Sally Yates.Senator Warner.
etc

Destroy Mueller. Nail his ass to the wall, and indict him for perjury.

I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but Barr is not gonna indict his old pal “Bob”!

When Herr Mueller lies to Congress, Republicans will make a referral for prosecution.

This is a golden opportunity to take out a major deep state player.

        “…make a referral for prosecution.”

which will NOT be acted on. we are no longer a nation of laws, and this whole sordid mess is one big farce.

So is this a new plan or an old one? If it is a new one, this is a desperate attempt to win a lost cause. Barr does what he needs to do before the 14th.

A bunch of crooks subpoena another crook for crooked testimony.

My guess, Mueller will answer questions he is prohibited by department regulations from answering, and refusing to answer questions like “When did you know President Trump did not collude with the commies?” that he can and should answer.

    it is a double-edged sword

from what I am reading, this will not be a closed door testimony

it will be public on the House floor

so Mueller has to answer Republican question

of course he can start pleading the 5th or start whining about such questioning not being in his report, like for instance if Mueller is tagged with questions regarding the makeup of his investigative team being Democrats and Trump haters

but any insistence to NOT answer those questions will be public for the whole world to see

and there is alot of Republicans in the House with the Dems holding only a small majority

now if Mueller’s testimony is before a special committee, it is just as bad because these House committees are built equal in size and are given the same allotted time for questioning

MarkS in reply to fishstick. | June 26, 2019 at 7:07 am

Maybe he can answer questions about the lies in his report and why he’s not eligible for a perjury charge

I believe Mueller is most vulnerable for taking hundreds of pages to explain that although the investigation found no evidence of a coverup, Mueller could not exonerate him. WTF was that?

Mueller was not obligated to say anything at other than to report that his investigation found not evidence from which to recommend charges be filed. Instead he created a 400-page noose.

What an egomaniac this guy is. He planned this all along.

This corrupt POS can’ stay out of the limeight.

Next, Mueller will claim Donald Trump raped him.

Hopefully someone will. In prison.

    fishstick in reply to TheFineReport.com. | June 26, 2019 at 5:26 am

I can guarantee you Mueller wants no part of this hearing

this guy knows the integrity of his investigation could get absolutely shredded on the House floor

that is why Mueller has avoided the public light and gave only that brief presser since his sham of a special council kicked aside by the new AG

he knows WHAT is at stake here

but he’s being force to show up on threat of a House subpoena because their impeachment attempt really cannot go anywhere because his way the special council report is written

so the Democrats need someone on the special council to basically say “he’s guilty of obstruction” in a public forum

look – you have to realize that most of these investigators (including Mueller) have been in talks with Democrats for over a month now about how they can continue “investigating” Trump about anything

AG Barr is now a roadblock on the DOJ side so the Dem’s only route now is through impeachment proceedings

the question is will the Republicans in the House have the balls to ask the questions conservatives have been wanting answers to for almost 4 years now

will they even attempt it or go along with this pony show

wr fishstick, I think that horse has already left the barn.

Umm, the grand inquisitor is not testifying in front of Congress. He is testifying to the Democrats that have weaponized one half of Congress.

The more people see of this person the more the realise sweet fuck all was ever there.

Mr. Mueller your claim of Russian hacking of the DNC is unsupported by any evidence, in fact your team, the FBI, or any other official agency, ever searched the server allegedly hacked. Your entire premise is based on hearsay from an unreliable source, Crowdstrike is in fact a paid lackey of Hilary Clinton. Mr Mueller, like the Emperor, you have no clothes.

    oldgoat36 in reply to best45acp. | June 26, 2019 at 5:42 am

I think any one of us would be able to rip his whole sham investigation apart. I fear the Republicans won’t be as knowledgeable in things as we are. Either RINOs who are anti-Trump/Never-Trump types who will cover for him, or they will accept a BS answer and move on.

If there were a concerted effort by Republicans where they game planned every answer he gives with follow up questions (because you know Herr Mueller will give weasel answers) then it will show this to be what it was. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of faith in the Party of Lincoln to be informed and ask hard hitting questions that will show this to be what it was, a coup attempt pushed by the left which they are continuing to push.

Republicans in the House really need to get together and print out a bullet sheet of questions for Mueller to ask while under oath

the very first series of questions that needs to be addressed is the issue of the server being hacked by Russians

HOW did his team come to this conclusion
you can even add a second route in WHY they came to that conclusion

if his answer is dodgy (which it will be) then have Mueller explain the sources in detail that his team used to make that determination

Might be something to do with how the Flynn thing is going to blow up in his face. Once Flynn blows everything up, then maybe Stone is set free. Gotta ask why it was necessary and a show of force was there with CNN to get Stone. I would ask about government leaks to media and why Strozk was on his team. Not good vetting really.

Cohen may be the only guy in jail on this. He might even get out if it is discovered that he was threaten to testify the way he did to congress.

Here is a chance to expose the Schumar/Clinton dirt on the SDNY office.

The Democrats’ genocidal base demands impeachment and removal of Trump. To accommodate them I have no doubt Mueller will say something along the lines of “Trump and his campaign obstructed my investigation but the separation of powers in the Constitution precluded me from recommending indictment.” Then impeachment hysteria gets dialed up to nuclear levels.

That is the only headline the MSM/DNC axis will run about the hearing. If Republicans ask Mueller any tough questions they will be ignored or dismissed as partisan sniping.

The CTH has an interesting take on this. Something to consider ….Did the Russian’s feed Steele information and whey did the FBI not investigate it? I mean, if we were suppose to be investigating Russian Collusion, why did not the dossier come up? Maybe because it would reflect a huge mess the FBI and Intel are in for such a screw up.

Nice little article from the Federalist:

Nadler: Let me see………….the Collusion didn’t work…….The Obstruction seems to be dead in the water…….we really need something to keep Impeachment afloat……………..I Know,, My friend Mueller will help us out and say a few lines about how he couldn’t in all good conscience say Trump was innocent and give us a few more weeks of B S to feed CNN and our other net work friends.

Dismantle this disingenuous, evil motherf**ker hard, for all to see. No mercy.

Mueller will try one more time to spew his filth against President Donald Trump. If the Repubs get to ask some questions, some hard questions, they will almost certainly have an opportunity to prosecute this lying puke. And, as a former Marine, Bob Mueller wouldn’t make a pimple on a real Marine’s ass.

Hawk in reply to gourdhead. | June 26, 2019 at 1:25 pm

News Flash: pimples have just filed an objection to the suggestion they would even consider going on Muellers posterior

I’m looking forward to Mueller being “cross examined” by the Republican members.

I’ll make a max-personal-limit campaign contribution to the first GOP member who treats Mueller like No-Nuts Nadler did Hope Hicks and calls him “Mr. Comey” three times.
