Anarchists at UT Austin Threaten Incoming Freshmen With Doxxing if They Join Conservative Groups

Blatant political intimidation. Is the school going to do anything about this?

Anarchist group at UT Austin threatens to dox incoming freshmen if they join conservative campus clubs
Earlier this month an anarchist group that consists of UT Austin students called the Autonomous Student Network shared a tweet threatening to dox students who considered joining the Young Conservatives of Texas and Turning Point USA during freshman orientation.
“Hey #UT23! Do you wanna be famous? If you join YCT or Turning Point USA, you just might be. Your name and more could end up on an article like one of these,” the tweet said, linking to previous doxxing posts of conservative students at the school. “So be sure to make smart choices at #UTOrientation.”
Last year the network released extensive personal information of pro-Brett Kavanaugh demonstrators at UT Austin, including their names, photos and contact information. It went so far as to post some of the phone numbers of the employers of students and encouraged its adherents to call them to get them fired.
Composed mostly of students at UT Austin, the group also actively encourages the harassment of conservative students, having praised the destruction of signs and tactics of physical intimidation during the pro-Kavanaugh demonstrations.
Based on its most recent tweet, it appears the Autonomous Student Network may be gearing up for another doxxing during orientation and beyond.

I’ll just admit that I am confused as to the legality of doxxing.
I looked it up quickly and read that is might be. HMMM
Clearly this is a threat, but, is it a crime? Maybe it is just a violation of some code of conduct.
These are civil rights violations, infringing on the students’ freedom of speech and of assembly. I’m pretty sure the students never volunteered their addresses and phone numbers to the anarchists so we have something bad going on with the UT Austin administration.
For this Senate Staffer “Doxxing” was a crime.
Of course he did other things such as install key loggers.
In this case there would be a crime if the students obtain the information by breaking into a computer system — or even obtain the information in violation of the terms and conditions of use of the computer system.
Public disclosure of private facts is a tort, particularly if done with malice. It carries as big a price tag as any other defamation. The problem here is that these are presumably all indigent college kids, so that there are no deep pockets around.
But there are a lot of Texans, even at UT at Austin. If it were me, I’d be handing out GDI (“God D*** Independent”) pins along with the application papers for YCT and Turning Point. It could be something discreet, or something blatant, maybe with a large, six-pointed, yellow star on it.
I’d ask people to go a head and wear the pins, er, stars, whether they joined, or not.
I’d ask the local charity frats (is there an APO chapter?) To wear them, too.

According to the article, the doxxers claim to all be UT students. If so, someone might want to ask UT if they want to become the next Oberlin by tolerating these clowns.
The school claims that they aren’t a registered student organization, but that doesn’t mean that some of the staff aren’t participants.
Are they using college networks to discover and publish the information? Busted.

I’m not a leftist troll, and maybe his/her statement is a bit hyperbolic, but what do you suggest other than violence as the natural result of the suppression of freedom to assemble and speech. Are you one of those people waiting around for college administrators to do the right thing? And if so, how long are you willing to wait. Are you waiting for half of America to realize they can’t go off the rails every time they see a red hat, or hear something the don’t like, or have their feelings hurt?
Simple solution; just be proud of your political viewpoints and confident in your ability to articulate them. It’s anarchotards who run around in masks hiding their faces. What are they ashamed of?

The implication hence threat is that the information will reach crazies who will come to your house and kill you. Not us, but somebody even crazier than us, and they’ll come.
Actually, the threat is that by reporting your involvement with “hate groups” they can deprive you of your livelihood.
There’s a joke that if you “disrespect” Mohamed a Muslim extremist thinks he should assault or kill you, whereas in that situation a moderate Muslim only thinks someone else should assault or kill you. Sadly, actual polling data in majority Muslim communities shows the second part of that joke is not really a joke – it’s like the old Jim Crow days where most whites wouldn’t assault or kill a black/negro/African-American.who “showed disrespect” – but neither were they butt hurt when it happened.
The AntiFa Left comprises a small minority who are willing to “any means necessary” someone over showing disrespect to their political beliefs, and a much larger crowd who enable them and think they’re justified in their evil.

There is no better recruiting tool for young Americans than telling them something they can’t or shouldn’t do.

At the Stanford Review all the members who were actually conservative thrived on the noteriety. We knew we had the winning argument on every issue and loved to rub the left’s nose in it. BE well known on campus? That was half the fun.

Oberlin College finances compared to UT Austin is mind boggling.
If I was a student at UT Austin I would proudly sign up for every conservative club on campus praying I would be doxxed.
No degree offered at UT Austin would compare to the payout as a good lawsuit.
Beside the criminal aspect of it, there’s the civil remedy. Sue the ‘doxers,’ their funders, and the school and make millions. Who says a college education these days isn’t a good investment?

It would only be legal to use the firearm where the carrier is in fear of his life or other’s lives. Holders of firearms carry licenses in Texas have been proven statistically to be more law abiding than even law enforcement officers. People who have an LTC* would only use their weapon in defense of their life or the lives of others. Expecting anything else is promoting Socialist-Democrat gun grabbing propaganda.
* License to Carry for those not familiar with the Texas change from the former Concealed Handgun License (CHL) after open carry was made legal with a license. This was the first time open carry was legal in Texas since the end of Reconstruction’s US Army controlled government and readmission to the Union in 1870. That first official state legislature passed the prohibition in 1871, allegedly in response to outlaws roaming and murdering in Texas east of the Trinity River, but perhaps more because the new legislators were receiving threats.

Couldn’t some conservative woman claim sexual harassment and an unsafe educational environment under Title IX? My son says Title IX can be used to make trouble over almost anything. Worth a try, anyway. Catch them in their own snares–very biblical 🙂

I fund it hilarious that the ANTIFA folks call themselves “anti-fascists”. They are, without a doubt, the most fascist organization in our country. Their tactics are right out of the Nazi SturmAbteilung playbook.
