Chris Wallace Sat There Like Potted Plant as Buttigieg Ripped Into Fox News Primetime Hosts

Can you imagine an interviewer on another network not pushing back if a presidential candidate attacked the network?

Fox News host Chris Wallace moderated a town hall with Democrat presidential candidate South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg on Sunday night.

One part caught people’s attention because despite appearing on the network, Buttigieg went after two popular opinion hosts and received no pushback from Wallace.

From Breitbart:

During Sunday’s New Hampshire town hall, Mean Little Mayor Pete trashed Wallace’s Fox News colleagues — two of the network’s biggest stars (Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham ) directly to Wallace’s face and Wallace said nothing in their defense:

You know, a lot of folks in my Party were critical of me for even going this with Fox News … and I get that, especially when you see what’s going on with some of the opinion hoists on this network. I mean, you got Tucker Carlson saying immigrants make America dirty; when you’ve got Laura Ingraham comparing detention centers with children in cages to summer camps — summer camps….

Then Buttigieg went on to trash the entire network when he said, “There is a reason why anybody has to swallow hard and think twice before participating in this media ecosystem.”

Buttigieg tried to save face by differentiating between the network and viewers:

Still, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., said he thinks that many people who tune in to the network are doing so in good faith and that he wants to be willing to meet voters wherever they are.

“There are a lot of Americans who my party can’t blame if they are ignoring our message, because they will never hear it if we don’t go on [Fox] and talk about it,” Buttigieg said Sunday.

My problem with this lies with Wallace since he said, “All right mayor, we got to take a break here.”

After the break, Wallace did not stick up for his colleagues. As a moderator, I didn’t expect Wallace to go on a rampage, but I expected some follow-up questions or a hint that he wanted to stick by his colleagues. He could have at least clarified Carlson’s comments.

Carlson came under fire in December 2018 when he went off on immigration:

“Our leaders demand that you shut up and accept this,” he said. “We have a moral obligation to admit the world’s poor, they tell us, even if it makes our own country poorer, and dirtier, and more divided. Immigration is a form of atonement. Previous leaders of our country committed sins; we must pay for those sins by welcoming an endless chain of migrant caravans. That’s the argument they make.”

Carlson then railed against both Democrat Nancy Pelosi, who is set to be the next speaker of the House, and Paul Ryan, the outgoing speaker.

“Somehow the immigration-as-atonement idea has become the official position of virtually every guilty liberal in the United States,” the Fox host said. “Our tech overlords, the ones always lecturing you, corporate America, Nancy Pelosi and Paul Ryan—they all believe this, and anyone who disagees with them is denounced as a bigot and fired.”

Advertisers fled the show, which caused Carlson to lash out at them. He claimed his opponents mischaracterized his comments. Alan Dershowitz brought up the remarks in an unrelated segment, which allowed Carlson to clarify the remarks:

Dershowitz added, “I wish you hadn’t used that language. Language like that was used to describe my grandparents and great-grandparents and probably some of yours. So let’s move on.”

“Actually, just in point of fact since you brought it up,” Carlson responded, clarifying his position by repeating the context of the original comments.

“That was in context of a conversation with an elected official in Tijuana about the filth of his city, and he was complaining about how dirty it had become which was a byproduct of the policy decisions pushed by the American left. And I noted there is a lesson there perhaps for us. I would never describe people as inherently dirty. I don’t think they are, I’m pro-people. That’s why I’m against abortion. Strongly.”

The media, and Buttigieg, completely ignored Carlson’s interview with Tijuana official Gernaro Lopez Moreno. He said that the people in the caravan that came into Tijuana have left the natives frustrated because they left a lot of trash around the city along with a huge spike in crime from the migrants from Honduras.

He’s been duly conditioned to not appear homophobic. Poor thing.

“He said that the people in the caravan that came into Tijuana have left the natives frustrated because they left a lot of trash around the city along with a huge spike in crime from the migrants from Honduras.”

Who can blame them, and we should learn from their experience, no more invaders from the south.

The same applies to Muslims all over Europe, they are consistently ungrateful ingrates who believe they have an innate right to rule.

Given the undeserved deference shown to Muslims it is easy to understand why adherents of the conquest ideology believe they are the best of people and Islam will rule the world.

And who has forgotten being threatened that “the future must not belong to whose who slander (tell the truth about) the prophet of Islam”.

One of the most effective things that Al-Jazeera does is ask a question, and let the person speak. They often get several minute rants that are very revealing. The drawback to this approach is lack of clarification, or pushback.

I’m inclined to let them ramble, and allow them to reap the ridicule.

Even lightweight Erin Burnett tries desperately to defend CNN when a guest disparages the network on air. Wallace should be embarrassed.

Wallace was the first person to accuse AG Barr of acting like Trump’s personal attorney. People don’t generally push back against statements with which they agree.

Alfred E, Mayor of a mid-sized town self identifies as a homosexual. Is there any proof of this? “Wedding” photo can be easily made up, a roommate is also easy to come by. Swapping spit in public could be acting. Demand proof of his identity privilege!

Two things that can always be counted on from Democrats, with collaboration from the MSM – context and omission of exculpatory information. It matters not whether it’s highly placed members of the FBI, DoJ, or administration officials in front of a FISA judges and congressional hearings, or the party’s skateboarders, teeny-boppers, hipster woke mayors, rich old goat socialists, and other personalities fresh from hair and makeup in front of an edutainment personality…or a potted plant. Hey, if you see a road, drive over it.

I Didn’t bother to watch, but I suspect Wallace didn’t ask about Butagieg’s (can we just call him But Man?) joining Booker in supporting a Federal License in order to own a firearm. And yet they have taken, and want to take again, an Oath to support and defend the US Constitution.

Wallace is all often a weak reed; or perhaps in the face of Buttigieg’s assault, we might call him a limp dick.

We all know how Chris Wallace got where he did … the same way Joe Buck got where he did.

Without their famous fathers (and connections) Wallace would be doing hog reports and Buck high school sports on a dawn to dusk AM station in South Dakota.

Well I expect the Mayor Pete Buttigieg would know a thing or two about how to “swallow hard”.
Fox News Channel is the ONLY TV channel on the air or on cable, that even remotely tries to show both sides. Obama used to do this too. He’d trash Fox News and Rush Limbaugh and then shake his empty head. They were the two main avenues of anything that tended to disagree with Obama and if he could only get people to stop watching them, well bingo!!!
The same with Pete Buttigieg (I don’t care how his last name is spelled.)

Wallace, like most liberals, is a throne sniffer.

A large part of the reason anyone knows Mayor Pete’s name is because he is gay and running for President. It would seem to me a reasonable question would be something along the line, “Mayor, you are an openly gay candidate for the highest office in the country. What unique perspective does having an other man’s penis in your rectum give you on geopolitical and world financial issues?”

I expected some follow-up questions or a hint that he wanted to stick by his colleagues.

you expected wallace to villify someone he supports????
being on fox does not give make someone a conservative. being on fox does not you not vote for people like Buttigieg

That’s the exact moment I turned this off. Can’t stand Weasel Wallace. Mayor Pete obviously rehearsed that bit, pregnant pause and all. Gag me.

He’s silenced by threats of transphobia.

Wallace has a severe case of TDS that causes him to excuse anyone who is anti-Trump. He would gladly sacrifice his network for such. I do not think Ingraham or Carlson will let this go.

Maybe Chrissy wanted a date.

Remember: rino rat paul ryan is now on the board of directors of Fox – and Murdoch’s idiot son is running the show.

Fox is going the way of the swamp, so expect it.

Open borders are racist. By ignoring the mess that is our Southern border rich white liberals like Pete Buttplug, Pelosi, Dershowitz, Wallace and the rest only allow death and suffering to continue. They need to look beyond the opinions of their friends and consider people who don’t look like them.

All these gay jokes. Come on.

What’s next: Alfred E. is mayor of South Bendover, Indiana?

This guy would be a president on par with the imcompetence of barack hussein obama (or whoever he really is.)

Though perhaps without the treason.

And Buttigieg’s husband make a much more attractive First Lady than that beast michelle obama.

Yes, Pete Buttigieg for leader of the free world, because…because…because… Yes, Pete Buttigieg for leader of the free world, because….because he’d be the second gay president?

Or something.

South Bend, Indiana is a town of 100,000 people.

Little Pete has been in charge since 2012. So Little Pete has had five years to turn South Bend around.Sound Bend’s crime index (100 being safest) is 3. Yes, you read that right.
https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/in/south-bend/crime

It’s remained a sh-thole, having three times the crime rate of Indiana itself and the US itself.

Compare to Rudy Guliani’s tenure as mayor of NYC, when he decminated the NYC criminal element and proved to be massively powerful figure during the attacks of 9/11.

On the other hand, Pete was such a miracle worker and is so well-loved in Indiana, that when he ran for Indiana State Treasurer in 2010 and for chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2017…he lost both races.

Being he kinda sucks at being a city mayor, and his home state doesn’t think he’s worthy of being either its treasurer or chair of its DNC, WE SHOULD ELECTED HIM LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF LARGEST ECONCOMY ON EARTH.

Sounds about right.

If you loved obama, you’ll love Little Pete.

“All these gay jokes. Come on.”

Okay.

Being he kinda sucks…

Chris Wallace is and has always been a prog. Fox news sucks.

Seems to me Fox started their online subscription outlet as a way to start to siphon off the more conservative viewers while they slowly transition the cable side to something more like MSNBC or CNN. My guess is they keep the three primetime shows from Tucker to Ingraham going simply because they pay the bills for the entire network. Certainly get most of the eyeballs. At some point it wouldn’t surprise me if one or all of those transition to the subscription service and those slots change.

“Can you imagine an interviewer on another network not pushing back if a presidential candidate attacked the network?”

Why is this surprising? Is there not new leadership at Fox, which heralded a shift left? Seems to me to be part and parcel of their new business plan.
