Sanders Blows Past Other Candidates, Raised $5.9 Million in First 24 Hours

Small dollar donations are key.

The presidential campaign for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has announced it raised $5.9 million in the first 24 hours, blowing past the numbers for the other 11 Democrat presidential candidates.

The money came from 225,000 people in all 50 states. Two hours after the 24 hour mark, the campaign said it topped $6 million.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) bragged last month that her campaign brought in $1.5 million in its first 24 hours. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) pulled in $1 million while Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) only raised $300K.

ABC News reported “that the average donation was $27.”

Sanders took advantage of social media as he tweeted out “eight times asking for donations — seven times in English and once in Spanish — on Tuesday.”

This is exactly what propelled Sanders to raise so much money during his 2016 campaign against eventual failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. It’s also what helped President Donald Trump: SMALL DOLLAR DONATIONS.

In August 2017, Politico interviewed Sanders’ 2016 fundraiser leader Michael Whitney about the importance of small dollar donations:

This isn’t just about money. Small-dollar donors are an important measure of how much grass-roots enthusiasm a campaign or organization has. They are the supporters who will show up to knock on doors, make phone calls and get out the vote. And since they don’t donate enough to reach campaigns’ individual contribution limits, you can return to ask them for money time and again—which frees campaigns from continually being on the hunt for new, deep-pocketed donors who can max out. The lack of their support threatens to prevent major gains by the party in 2018 and beyond.

Old white male? Doesn’t stand a chance.

So will he just buy a dacha, err, house, call it a campaign headquarters, and then decide to drop out?

Wonder how the party will deprive Bernie of the nomination this time?

Bernie hits really well with the youth and recently graduated, who are foolish enough to be duped by his promises.

Their tax bills on the breadwinner years would be devastating to their personal income and wealth building endeavors. All of it would be to pay for college of those coming after them and they would go down as the biggest suckers in history, paying the highest out of pocket price of all time.

”…Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) only raised $300K.”

???? ???? ????

Truly delicious. Genuinely excited to watch the others go straight fascist to out left him.

With the size of student loan debt and job prospects today, it’s no surprise that recent grads and college students flock to the promise of free stuff.

That is totally a dude on the cover photo.

Sounds like massive Russian infiltration to me. How many comrades do we have in this country?

Somehow you have to admire Bernie. He’s the only American politician who would rather be right than President. Excuse me, I meant to say, rather be left than President. But not left-out again. Whatever! I’d like to think he has the strength of his convictions, even though apparently he and I have very different and mutually opposing convictions. In fairness though, it has occurred to me that neither Bernie nor I clearly know what his convictions are. He’s all over the place with cures for whatever ails us, so I guess that shows his heart’s in the right place, no, I meant the left place. Whatever! What I know about Bernie is just what’s in Wikipedia. He’s a Progressive, but that’s an adjective, not a noun, so I don’t know what that means. He calls himself a Democratic Socialist, but Wikipedia informs us that he’s really a traditional New Dealer. Strictly speaking, he’s not even remotely a Traditional Socialist; he actually tried the commune system in Israel for 3 months with his first wife before splitting. He’s more like a Scandinavian Capitalist, (the Scandinavians are all Capitalists) using high taxes to support a vote-purchasing welfare system.
My friends at Starbucks will all vote for Bernie unless Schultz runs, then who knows. I do hope Bernie fights on, even if he doesn’t win. He owes this to Seth Rich, who died for Bernie’s Cause. Hey, it’s the principle of the thing. And yes, I’ll support Bernie even if he splits the vote and the lousy Democrat Party. So what if Trump wins, we’ll just get four more years of what we deserve. That’s Justice, and I’m for Justice, aren’t you?

Small edit to the headline: Sanders Blows.

Yay Bernie! – Destroy the USA!
