Report: Rosenstein to Leave DOJ After New Attorney General Confirmed
He only wanted to serve for two years.
Reports have come out today that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein plans to leave the Department of Justice (DOJ) after confirmation of the new attorney general. From ABC News:
Rosenstein has communicated to President Donald Trump and White House officials his plan to depart the administration around the time William Barr, Trump’s nominee for attorney general, would take office following a Senate confirmation.
Sources told ABC News Rosenstein wants to ensure a smooth transition to his successor and would accommodate the needs of Barr, should he be confirmed.
Rosenstein apparently had long been thinking he would serve about two years, and there was no indication that he was being forced out at this moment by the president.
Sources told Fox News that “Rosenstein long thought of his role as a two-year position and the two-year mark is coming soon.”
Back in October, speculation grew that President Donald Trump would fire Rosenstein after The New York Times reported that he offered to tape Trump and discuss invoking the 25th amendment with Cabinet members.
Trump immediately shot down that idea.
After Attorney General Jeff Sessions left in November the speculation returned, but Rosenstein stuck around after Matt Whitaker became acting attorney general.
Rosenstein has overseen Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible collusion between Trump and Russia during the 2016 campaign. From The Washington Examiner:
Rosenstein appointed and has overseen special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation since May 2017. Rosenstein’s office still manages the probe’s day-to-day operations, but Whitaker oversees it.
Barr, if confirmed, will oversee the inquiry in its entirety.
Rosenstein was only able to appoint Mueller after Sessions’ recusal from the Russia investigation. It is not expected that Barr would recuse himself as attorney general from oversight, though he will get grilled on his views of a special counsel.

Well, once you’ve been the starting quarterback, it’s hard to go back to the bench. Besides, it looks better on your resume if you quit rather than waiting to be fired.
I would like to see a thorough investigation into who he really works for.

I, for one, believe Rosenstein is corrupt, a liar and a danger to the country. He participated in the coup attempt by signing a FISA warrant against his own President based upon purposely inadequate information, his appointment of Mueller appears to be more conspiratorial than fair, his refusal to provide unredacted material to Congress, the continuing revelations of material requested long ago and his seemingly acceptance of crooked and biased FBI and DOJ personnel all point towards an exceptionally poor appointment on the part of the Trump administration. Worse than Sessions, and perhaps the very cause of Jeff Sessions to prove to be the most clueless AG in history.

Based upon the total universe of information that has been disclosed by REAL investigative reporters, I M H O, rod is an UN-INDICTED FEDERAL FELON.
And,UNFORTUNATELY, he will probably join the LEGIONS of unindicted felons that WE THE PEOPLE have been paying and will continue to be paid by US in pensions and other benefits!

If Barr shuts down the SC investigation and Rosenstein is still employed at the DOJ, there is a good chance that he will get hung out to dry, in order to protect other DOJ employees, past and present. The justification for the firing of Comey was Rosenstein’s doing. The appointment of Mueller, as SC, was Rosensteins doing. The expansion of the SC’s jurisdiction was Rosenstein’s doing. The signing of what was obviously a fraudulently obtained FISA warrant was done by Rosenstein. Rosenstein has too much exposure to remain in the DOJ. But, if he leaves, then the DOJ and Establishment politicians, can safely ignore his actions, as they have Comey’s. Stzrok’s, Page’s and others.
He should have been fired long ago. Now he will leave with a nice pension and will probably be untouchable… like many others who should stand trial.

Rosenstein announces he will not leave the DOJ until the new AG is confirmed.
Therefore, the next AG confirmation hearing will make Judge K. look like a rehearsal. More frothing, steaming, screeching Dems than you can shake a stick at.
He should serve 10 – 20 in a federal pen.
