Austrian Police Charge Woman For Hitting Migrant Who Molested Her
The victim fractured the attacker’s nose, and he ran to police for medical care
Austrian police have changed a young woman with inflicting bodily harm for defending herself against a sexual molester, local newspapers report. The incident took place during the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Vienna’s landmark City Hall square, where a 21-year-old Swiss woman pushed back an Afghan migrant who tried to assault her.
The woman also filed charges of sexual harassment against the man. Several eye witnesses corroborated the women’s testimony. The Afghan apparently harassed other women at the venue as well, media reports say.
Three years ago, the western German city of Cologne witnessed mass sexual assaults on the New Year’s Eve as thousands of migrant men raped, assaulted, and robbed more than 1200 women. So far, only a handful of these perpetrators have been brought to justice.
The Swiss woman could face fines under the country’s law, Vienna-based tabloid Blick reported citing an Austrian legal expert.
German newspaper Die Welt covered the incident on Friday:
In Vienna, a young woman was inappropriately touched by a man at the City Hall square (Rathausplatz). The 21-year-old woman, a Swiss tourist, was on her way to the big New Year’s Eve party in the capital with her three female friends, the Austrian media reports.
Around 1.30 hours, a man touched the young women from behind. In almost a reflex, the women turned around and hit the man. The man suffered a nasal bone fracture. He turned to the security personnel, was taken to a hospital, and was reported to the police by the woman for sexual molestation.
The 20-year-old Afghan man denies any wrong doing. However, “the witnesses said that the Afghan man had groped several women,” the Police spokesman Harald Sörös said. The woman, too, faced consequences for the incident: She was charged by the police with bodily harm and might have face a trial. [Translation by the author]
Despite massive police deployment, the city of Cologne again witnessed chaotic scenes this News Year’s Eve. German newspapers reported pitched street fights between ‘young men’ and Cologne police. Police officers and first responders were attacked in several German cities on the New Year’s Eve.
Growing incidents of migrant crime in Europe have eroded public confidence in the police and justice system. The number of weapons permits in Germany has skyrocketed since Chancellor Merkel opened the country’s borders to immigrants in the spring of 2015. According to official figures released in December, German authorities issued 600,000 licenses for non-lethal weapons in past four years, an increase of 130 percent.
The incident in Vienna once again highlights how virtue-signalling European institutions have failed the women of Europe. In today’s Europe, the well-being of an able-bodied migrant trumps the rights and safety of a sexual assault victim.
The self-proclaimed champions of women’s rights have failed the European women too: no outrage from the women’s rights activists on either aide of the Atlantic, not a word from thousands of angry feminists who took to the streets of Europe donning ‘pussy hats’ just two years ago.

I really have no understanding of countries complete dereliction of their job to protect their citizens, and the complete collapse of the real women’s rights champions.
They have no idea that society’s have allowed Trans and non citizens to just pass them buy, often at women’s peril, including rape and murder.

In other words, the dependent class (who will be the majority of the nation) will vote themselves benefits (and oppressive income taxes) by voting democrat. For the rest of of us, that will mean we will be slaves for the dependent class, while the likes of pelosi loot the government and remain in the elite class.
We’d all better understand this, or we’ll be slaves without chains – unless we buck the system, then the likes of lois lerner will be trotted out to find a way to imprison us.

But, there are words. The ones that come most readily to mind are “moral cowardice”, or perhaps “appeasement” as used by Neville Peace-in-Our-Time Chamberlain.
The most accurate words, of course, are cultural suicide. The finest ideals that mankind has ever conceived are being thrown aside in order to placate Islam, a barbarous ideology falsely peddled as a religion. When things such as this arise, my first thought goes to other words spoken more than two centuries ago and still valid today:

I was saying years ago with utmost regret that the day would come when European women would be violated twice. Multiple times, really.
This article makes some interesting conclusions based upon a striking lack of detail. What we know, from the article is that a man touched a woman, in an unspecified manner, from behind. The woman turned around an struck him in the nose, breaking it. She claimed that he touched her inappropriately, which may have been supported by witnesses [again we do not have any specific report that the touching was actually witnessed] .
Now, ignoring the fact that this happened in Austria, not the US, Several factors come into play, if this is going to be self defense. These include the exact nature of the contact, whether the contact was continuing when the woman turned, and whether the damage done by the woman was reasonable. None of this is known to us. So, about the only evidence we have in this case is the man’s broken nose. Now, in a lot of, perhaps most, jurisdictions in the US, the police would most likely not make an arrest or prefer charges in this case. The involved parties would be referred to the local prosecutor’s office to directly file charges. Things may be different in Austria.
I am not concluding anything. I am just stating the facts as reported in Austrian/German media.
I do connect the incident to the wider issue of surging migrant crime. We would be seeing international headlines if the identity of the victim and perpetrator were other way around.
Actually, you ARE making conclusions. I refer you to the title of the piece. In it you use the term “molested”. Yet nowhere in the piece do you support that claim, with the exception of saying that the woman claimed the man inappropriately touched her, from behind. That covers a heck of a lot of ground. Was contact made with the woman’s genitals or breast? Was the woman roughly and forcefully grabbed by the buttocks? Was she slapped on the buttocks or pinched? Was she merely bumped? We have no idea as what happened was not clearly reported. And, such facts have a profound effect on whether the woman’s action was justified.
As to whether this would have been reported is a valid point. However, it can be just as easily argued that it would not have been reported at all if the people involved were ethnic Austrians. This type of thing probably happens thousands of times a year, in Austria, and never makes the news. So, it is just as likely that it was reported specifically because the man WAS an immigrant. What you did was to take an incident, which involved not one but two immigrants [one a resident and one a foreign tourist] and immediately present it as an example of rising criminal activity based solely upon the fact that the man was a resident immigrant.
Now, whether the parties involved were ethnic Austrians, immigrants or foreign tourists should not matter to the police at all. What should matter, and what we all would want to matter, is if the actions of the parties are justified under the law. In many states in the US, if the man intentionally grabbed the woman, without her consent and without exigent circumstance [keeping her from falling, etc], this would be a misdemeanor crime of battery. If it involved contact with primary or secondary sexual characteristics [breasts or genitals] this might well elevate it to a sexual crime. Then there is the actions of the woman, which must be considered. Intentionally punching a person in the nose is a criminal act almost everywhere. However, a defense to that act being found to be criminal is if it was done in necessary self defense or the defense of another. The authorities have to collect evidence, assess that evidence and then come to a preliminary judgement on whether that evidence supports a criminal charge, fails to support a charge or exonerates a person from criminal charges based upon lawful self defense.
My point was that clearly reported facts fail to establish that there was any miscarriage of justice in this case. Without that, this is nothing more than two people behaving badly at a New Years Eve celebration.

So there is witness evidence that he acted improperly by groping several women. Apparently, the Swiss woman was the only one who did anything about it, and she’s being made to pay a price for it.

I can’t see a US prosecutor outside of Dearborn taking a case like this. Now if it were a woman feeling up a man who had gotten punched for her transgressions it would be no surprise to see him being prosecuted (and her getting no charges at all).
When exactly did the neutering of European men begin? The end of WW2? Until these invaders start getting discovered out in the woods or in a shallow grave somewhere after perpetrating violent crimes against the women, more of the same will continue to happen.
