Michaela Todd is the Vice President of the student government at Emporia State University in Kansas. During the run-up to the 2018 midterms, she wrote a post on Facebook to show her support of Republican Kris Kobach for governor. The post included the term ‘illegal aliens’ and it set off a firestorm.

The problems began when Todd’s post came to the attention of the school’s ‘Diversity and Inclusion Committee’ which now wants to impeach her.

The Hays Post reports:

Emporia State student VP faced Impeachment for writing ‘Illegal Aliens’

After she wrote what some consider a controversial statement on social media, a vice president of the Associated Student Government at Emporia State University won’t face impeachment.

According to the university’s Associated Student Government’s Facebook page, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee planned to begin an impeachment effort against Michaela Todd after she wrote in support of GOP gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach, “put Kansans first not illegal aliens. The millions of dollars spent on public welfare for illegal aliens in Kansas hurts Kansas taxpayers every day.”

Impeachment proceedings ahead this week for ESU Associated Student Government vice president Featured

Emporia State University’s Associated Student Government vice president is facing impeachment proceedings beginning this week.

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee has released a statement saying impeachment begins Thursday against Michaela Todd. The impeachment proceedings follow a social media post made by Todd in support of Republican gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach. As part of the post, Todd said the former Secretary of State would “put Kansans first, not illegal aliens,” as part of a list of reasons why she supported Kobach for governor. Todd also said the state spends millions of dollars on public welfare, again using the term “illegal aliens” in saying that approach “hurts Kansas taxpayers every single day.”…

Impeachment needs a two-thirds approval vote of the Senate to advance to a second vote, where a three-fourths majority of the ASG Senate would be needed for removal. If impeachment passes the first-round vote Thursday, the second vote is planned for Nov. 29.

Which term sounds worse to you, illegal aliens or Diversity and Inclusion Committee? Orwell could not have dreamed up a name like ‘Diversity and Inclusion Committee’ if he tried.

The implication is clear. The left, for purely political reasons, does not want people using the term illegal aliens. The punishment for doing so, is being informed by the ‘Diversity and Inclusion Committee’ that you’re no longer included.

To her credit, Michaela Todd is not backing down. She appeared on FOX and Friends this week.

The FOX News Insider has the details:

Kansas College Student Facing Campus Backlash for Using Term ‘Illegal Aliens’

On “Fox & Friends” Thursday, Todd, who is now facing calls to resign from her position, said she is “very shocked” by the negative reaction to her Facebook post and outrage over her use of “illegal aliens.”

“I was very excited about saying who I supported. I wanted to encourage other people to go out and vote and to vote for Kobach,” Todd said.

She noted that the term “illegal aliens” was part of Kobach’s platform, and it’s frequently used by officials in state and federal government.

“I wasn’t trying to be derogatory or dehumanizing to anybody, so I’ve apologized and said it was never my intent to hurt anybody,” Todd said…

As for the calls to resign, Todd said she plans to remain in her office and stick to her beliefs.

“I have also had a lot of students come out and support me in this when people were attacking me,” Todd said. “These students are a lot like me. They are conservatives students, and they haven’t felt like they’ve been able to voice what they believe in at Emporia State. And so I feel like backing down would be doing them a disservice.”

Watch her appearance below:

Congratulations to Michaela for not backing down. It would be much easier for her to cave in to the pressure. Students must be encouraged to follow her example, to respond to the ridiculous demands of progressives on campus by simply saying no.

A Republican with a spine.

Maybe there is hope afterall.

Undocumented Democrats?!?

Illegal Alien is cited in 8 U.S. Code § 1252. Only in liberal Bizarro World can you be impeached for quoting federal statute

““I wasn’t trying to be derogatory or dehumanizing to anybody, so I’ve apologized and said it was never my intent to hurt anybody,” Todd said…”

That’s the only thing she did that I disagree with. NEVER, EVER apologize for something like this. The SJWs will never accept the apology anyway.

Never apologize to liberals. Just laugh at them and double down. And carry a taser.

We older folks owe her an apology, for allowing the country to fall into such decrepitude.

We should have more aggressively fought for Americans and America, years ago, and ejected the RINOs and other assorted anti-Americans.

We were too timid, too afraid, too lazy, too complacent and now younger people are paying for it. And they will a lot more in the future.

“I wasn’t trying to be derogatory or dehumanizing to anybody, so I’ve apologized and said it was never my intent to hurt anybody,” Todd said…

She’s already beaten. All she’s doing now is haggling over surrender terms.

Had she used the correct PC term nothing would have been said. Instead she used the accurate definition of a person in the country illegally.

Men women and children trafficked for cheap labor and the sex trade.

Emporia is the birthplace of the Progressive movement. Really. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g38694-d586462-Reviews-William_Allen_White_House-Emporia_Kansas.html
