For months Democrats and #TheResistance have been demanding impeachment not only of Trump, for supposed Russia collusion, but also Brett Kavanaugh for alleged perjury during his confirmation testimony.

Now that Democrats will control the House, and the House Judiciary Committee, are Democrats serious?

According to reporting by Molly Hemingway at The Federalist, Incoming Democrat Chairman: Dems Will Go ‘All-In’ On Russia, Impeach Kavanaugh For ‘Perjury’:

Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., revealed plans for House Democrats to investigate and impeach Justice Brett Kavanaugh for alleged perjury and investigate and impeach President Donald Trump for alleged treasonous collusion with Russia.

In post-election chats with various callers while riding the Acela train from New York to Washington, Nadler gave advice to a newly elected representative and discussed potential 2020 Democratic presidential nominees with another….

The two discussed two routes for investigating new Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh. The first is to go after the FBI for how they handled the investigation into unsubstantiated claims he sexually assaulted women. “They didn’t even do a half-ass job,” he said. “They didn’t interview 30 witnesses who said ‘Interview me! I’ve got a lot to say!’” he said, while mimicking people waving their hands to be called on.

His other plan is to go after Kavanaugh because “there’s a real indication that Kavanaugh committed perjury.” …

When the caller suggested going after Kavanaugh quietly, Nadler explained, “You can’t do it quietly because word will get out that the FBI or the committee is reaching out to witnesses.”

The caller then suggested that impeachment might still be worthwhile because the president elected in 2020 could nominate someone else. Nadler said the problem was that any investigation wouldn’t take long enough to last until the presidential election. “There are a finite amount of witnesses. I don’t see why it should take long at all,” he said. “We’re not talking about a 30-year scheme of getting money from Russians via hidden sources — that takes time.”

This would be consistent with Nadler’s statement months ago that he “would dearly love to preside over the impeachment of Donald Trump.”

Nadler appears to be unhinged. The best way Democrats can guarantee a big backlash vote for Trump is to try to impeach him without any screamingly obvious grounds—and after two years, Mueller hasn’t thus far come up with anything, which is why he keeps searching through more and more remote relationships and unlikely offenses. Ditto Kavanaugh: a huge reaction against their treatment of him help Republicans keep the Senate, and yet Nadler wants more of the same? These guys are nuts!

I hope they do try to impeach Kavanaugh and Trump. Impeachment trials are in the Senate, and their smears aren’t going anywhere in the Senate.

Kavanaugh is squeaky clean, and the final report of the investigation shows that. If they want to go after him for boozing in high school and college, they will find that many Dems were just as big boozers. Christine Ford doesn’t want to participate in a continued witch hunt either.

They won’t get anywhere with Trump colluding with Russia, either, since it didn’t happen. Trump has done some things that may cause him embarrassment, but everybody already knows that, and the Dems will come up empty on Russia.

So if the Dems spend all their time arguing about meaningless motions to impeach one or the other, that will keep them from causing more significant mischief. Besides, if Trump is to get re-elected in 2020, he needs the Dems to come after him hard in stupid ways (like the Kavanaugh smear) so that he can come out fighting and win the election.

So the Judiciary committee is about to fall into the hands of someone who doesn’t understand concepts like evidence, or even facts, or the complete futility of pursuing action in the house that will die when sent to the senate.

How far our country has fallen.

Nadler is not Maxine Waters. He’s a highly intelligent person, who understands all of those things very well. He just doesn’t care about them.

I was taught that an intelligent person cares.

Then you were taught wrong. There are lots of things I don’t care about, and you probably think of yourself as intelligent and yet I’m sure there are lots of things you don’t care about. Your teacher must not have been very intelligent to have thought such a thing. Nadler is intelligent, and like all intelligent people there are things he doesn’t care about; in his case these include truth, integrity, decency, and justice.

“Nadler is not Maxine Waters. He’s a highly intelligent person…”

Waters is not a standard for considering one’s intelligence. Nadler may do stupid things while Waters is just stupid. The result can be the same. I get and accept your point, however.

It’ll be fun watching the Senate confirm more judges while they rant and rave over in the House.
Hopefully rbg leaves real soon and the left has a total meltdown when PDJT gets to nominate another SC justice.

Could you imagine the absolute sh*t-show of fun we would have if Trump got to replace RBG with Amy Coney-Barrett.

Somebody really has to change the D’rat party cartoon from a donkey to a horse’s ass.

The caller then suggested that impeachment might still be worthwhile because the president elected in 2020 could nominate someone else. Nadler said the problem was that any investigation wouldn’t take long enough to last until the presidential election.

Ridiculous. An investigation doesn’t remove a judge, or inhibit him in any other way. Neither does impeachment. Impeachment is the formal statement of charges. Subsequent conviction via legislative vote removes the judge from office. Until then he remains a fully functioning judge. And since that vote is in the Senate, the D’rats will have to have a real crime to have any chance of removing anyone. Political crimes won’t do.

“There are a finite amount of witnesses. I don’t see why it should take long at all.”

When the witnesses are fabricated to fit the occasion, any number can be supplied to order. As a D’rat, he knows that perfectly well.

Since liberals cannot see unintended consequences, the likely outcome is for more exposure of Ford and Feinstein to the point of criminal charges being files and followed through on.

The Dems are perfectly willing to go full retard. Never go full retard. But they just can’t help themselves.

I hope they follow their game plan; really remind America that democrats are about power, not governance or leadership.
