Florida Recount Update: Rick Scott Suing Broward County, Palm Beach County

Broward County official listed as many excuses as she could when media confronted her.

The Florida elections remain a mess. The heat has turned up even more since Governor Rick Scott announced last night he and the National Republican Senatorial Committee have decided to sue Broward County and Palm Beach County.

Scott is in a tight race with incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson.

Now it looks like Nelson has decided to sue “to extend the deadline for local election offices to turn in vote counts.”

Lawsuit

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio blasted the Broward County election officials on Twitter last night. He pointed out that these same people violated the law two times before.

About six hours later, Scott announced his lawsuit in front of the governor’s mansion and he echoed the concerns shared with Rubio.

8:26: Rick Scott: “It has been over 48 hours since the polls closed” and ballots still being found in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, he said. “The people of Florida deserve fairness and transparency.” Scott said Florida voters should be concerned about “rampant fraud.”

8:27 — Rick Scott: “We have just filed a lawsuit.”

“I will not sit idly by while unethical liberals try to steal this election.”

It sounds like Scott is suing both Palm Beach and Broward counties. So far only the Broward lawsuit is available.

8:29 — Rick Scott now giving the career of Sen. Bill Nelson’s hired lawyer, Marc Elias, a veteran recount attorney. Scott said he’s trying to “steal the election.” Scott said they’re “mysteriously finding more votes.”

8:30 — “Some believe this is simply rank incompetence. That is certainly true,” Rick Scott said. But it would be naive to think they are overruling the will of the voters, he adds.

Scott is asking for law enforcement to investigate immediately and he will use every legal options necessary, he said.

Confronting Broward County Election Official

Jeff Weinsier from Florida station WPLG confronted Brenda Snipes, the Broward County Board of Elections Supervisor.

From WPLG:

“Could I please get a moment to go into the room and find out?” Snipes asked the group huddled around her. “OK, when I come back I’ll let you know.”

“But, Dr. Snipes, it is now Thursday,” Weinsier said. “We are still counting ballots in Broward County.”

“We’re counting five pages or six pages for each of the people who voted,” Snipes said.

“But other counties have been able to do it,” Weinsier said.

“But other counties didn’t have 600,000 votes out there,” Snipes shot back.

“Well, Miami-Dade did,” Weinsier said.

“Well, have you been inside my — never mind, let me go check. I’ll check,” Snipes said.

“But it’s a serious issue. It always seems like…” Weinsier said before Snipes interrupted him.

“It’s a serious issue with me,” she told him. “I’ve been doing this now since Oct. 22.”

“But if it’s a serious issue with you…” Weinsier said, only to be interrupted again.

“We ran 22 sites, we ran 14 days, we ran 12 hours, we had a big vote by mail (during early voting), so don’t try to turn it around to make it seem like I’m making comedy out of this,” Snipes replied.

Then Snipes walked away.

Nelson’s Lawsuit

From Spectrum News:

In the election battle’s latest salvo, Sen. Bill Nelson’s campaign said Friday morning that it and state Democrats’ executive committee are suing Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner in Tallahassee federal court to extend the deadline for county Supervisor of Elections Offices to turn in unofficial vote counts.

In a conference call, Nelson attorney Marc Elias said their lawsuit seeks to set a uniform standard for the adjudication of provisional ballots.

About 15,000 votes separate Republican Gov. Rick Scott and Nelson in the U.S. Senate race. Elias said they think those votes will come from provisional ballots and county canvassing processes.

Marc Caputo at Politico tweeted that Nelson has also sued to stop rejection of ballots.

Here is the lawsuit.

Federal Government Involvement?

President Donald Trump told reporters the federal government may get involved. From The Guardian:

“What’s going on in Florida is a disgrace,” Trump told reporters outside the White House.

Florida is expected to conduct a machine recount in the governor’s race between Andrew Gillum and Ron DeSantis, and a hand recount in the Senate race between Rick Scott and Bill Nelson. The Republicans are ahead in both races, but the margins have narrowed as votes continue to be counted.

Trump cast doubt on the honesty of the recount process and said when asked if the federal government would get involved, “Well, it could be.”

“And all of a sudden, they are finding votes out of nowhere. And Rick Scott, who won by, you know, it was close, but he won by a comfortable margin, every couple of hours it goes down a little bit,” Trump said. “He easily won, but every hour it seems to be going down. I think that people have to look at it very, very cautiously.”

He went on to allege that “a lot of crooked stuff is going on,” without specifying what he was talking about.

“It always seems to go the way of the Democrat,” he said. “There’s a lot of dishonesty.”

Malice or incompetence. I think and.

They were manufacturing votes, I suspect. It is surprisingly easy. You wait until after the election to see who did not vote. You then submit an absentee ballot. This has been going on for years in crooked counties. That is why it is important to sequester the ballots for an audit.
Exactly the same thing is happening in Arizona, the elections official has an offsite team, say a bunch of school teachers ala Florida, and they are provided a list of ballots to manufacture using forms provided long in advance.
The tell tale sign is not having a tabulation of total votes immediately after the election as occurred in several Arizona and and two Florida counties. And I suspect 2 Montana counties.

It’s not an ’11th hour’ lawsuit.

It’s a 13th hour lawsuit – the deadline is PAST.

Snipes is pathetic, she can’t even come up with believable lies. Literally everybody else in the STATE, including precincts that were hit by the freaking hurricane just a few weeks ago.

They can’t say how long they’ll be ‘counting’, they’re blatantly violating the laws of how they SHOULD be counting and reporting, and are refusing to allow any supervision.

McConnell should simply refuse to seat Nelson if he steals it. The Communists will cry “constitutiona crisis”, but they yell that every time we stand up to them.

If thy resort to violence, call out the Army.

If it descends into civil war, the Communists are concentrated in cities and very easy to encircle and blockade.

How was Snipes even allowed near a ballot after the crap she’s pulled in the past?

The legal guild has failed us.

Arminius in reply to Othniel. | November 9, 2018 at 11:12 pm

Does anyone know if FL election laws provide for criminal penalties when election officials engage in this flagrant lawbreaking? Or any penalties, for that matter?

That’s one of my pet peeves. Laws that purport to hold officials accountable but don’t provide for criminal penalties when violated are only intended to appear to hold officials accountable. Or they provide for civil penalties, but the official doesn’t have to personally pay any judgements but instead the taxpayers foot the bill.

Basically, given this woman’s track record she knows full well she can violate these election laws and she won’t suffer any consequences.

Arminius in reply to Othniel. | November 10, 2018 at 1:37 pm

I was asking a serious question. Hopefully there are some FL attorneys who may know the answer. Are there any civil or criminal penalties for officials like Snipes who are flagrantly violating FL election laws, or are those laws toothless? I’ve seen relevant sections regarding what the laws require election officials to do, but never any penalties for failing to do so.

And why doesn’t this judge lock these people up for contempt for failing to comply with court orders?

Milhouse in reply to Othniel. | November 11, 2018 at 12:06 am

    She was elected.

If they are allowed to get away with this, I will be so disappointed. Did we clean out the DOJ or not?

Maybe this was the final straw that resulted in Sessions being fired.

Enough is enough. The Constitution is clear:

Each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members,

The Constitution puts the Senate in charge, not the Florida Supreme Court a a Democrat United States Supreme Court Judge or even the United States Supreme Court.

If there is fraud in Florida or Arizona the Senate should seat the real winning candidate. No filibuster, no nonsense, just do it.

When a Democrat says “count every vote” she means “find out how many votes we need and count every one of those new votes until we are ahead. Then stop counting”

Great tips re. FL election fraud

Also, I’ve contributed to McSally’s fund to hire election lawyers- she needs the help. FL is getting all the attention, but AZ and McSally need help too- amazing how “new” ballots just keep popping up and are ALL for the Democrat!

This Snipes is a doctor of what? Does anyone know?

This needs to end. The left continually gets away with cheating when they don’t win elections, so they manufacture votes where they can.

This woman is obviously a true believer that the ends justifies the means, she needs to be prosecuted for her direct actions taken in trying to overturn a just election. Prison is where she should end up when found guilty. No pardons, no shorten sentence. That is how you begin to combat this illegal activity, and it needs to hit all the people involved, and that includes those high up, not just some peons.

There are not and cannot ever be ‘found’ votes; once they are lost, they are trash. There is no way to know where ‘found’ votes come from. And why is it ‘found’ votes are always in districts where the Democrat is trailing the Republican?

Most rural/suburban districts are going to have to learn not to submit their vote tallies until after the urban districts. It’s tougher to cheat if Democrats don’t know how many votes they need.

If any section of the U.S. deserves to have (true) independent election monitoring it is the twin centers of election engineering of Palm Beach and Broward Counties. Sense Bush v. Gore these have been the go to counties for election tampering in the state of Florida.

Wouldn’t it be a nice change for once to have the Republicans “Find” more ballots?

The more I read about election fraud in Florida and elsewhere, the better I like Oregon’s vote by mail system, which has both barcodes and signature matching that makes manufacturing ballots that much more difficult. No electronic voting machines, no internet involvement, paper ballots available for hand recounts. No lines, no crowds, no last minute rush at polling places, no polling places.

healthguyfsu in reply to sheepgirl. | November 9, 2018 at 4:00 pm

I’m not familiar with this system. Could you explain how it would safeguard against fraud of the corrupt, internal, senior operative variety such as Snipes is committing in this case?

sheepgirl in reply to healthguyfsu. | November 9, 2018 at 8:17 pm

The first problem she would have to overcome is the fact that total number of ballots would already be known because they were barcoded and mailed via USPS. Then when they are returned either by mail or dropped off in person, the barcode is read and marked as received and you can check online to see if your ballot has been received. This makes voting for people who didn’t return their ballots risky, because if they check and discover somebody has voted their ballot they might raise a stink. Then there is the signature verification on the outer envelope, which is also automated, those that get kicked out as a non match are then human verified. But there is a scanned copy of every signature. This makes it rather hard to slip manufactured ballots into the system because the returned ballot count is tabulated before the vote count starts. So Ms. Snipes would have to manufacture paper ballots while also electronically forging barcodes and hacking the reader to time stamp them prior to the deadline and forge acceptable signatures to scan in. That would be hard to do without leaving electronic traces. And all of it would have to be done onsite in the elections department because there is no off site voting.

If for some reason you want to vote in person, you have to do it at the elections office and they will still make you use a barcoded security envelope with signature to record your vote. There an inner blank envelope for vote secrecy. The number of returned security envelopes has to match the number of counted ballots.

And while Oregon does have motor voter registration, we also require proof of citizenship or legal residency to get a driver’s license and DMV is supposed to make sure they don’t register non citizens for voting and they generally don’t because the licensing transaction is timestamped with the DMV worker’s log in, so they will know who is registering non-citizens to vote. Oregon does not license undocumented residents.

So just to update.

CONTRARY TO COURT ORDER, Snipes is STILL REFUSING to allow any supervision of the ballot counting.

IN ADDITION, it has now been reported, CONTRARY TO LAW, that they have been filling out NEW ballots to replace ‘damaged’ ballots WITH NO SUPERVISION.

This is blatant fucking election fraud. She’s doing this because she’s done it for years with no consequences because squishy Republicans like Scott and Rubio have REFUSED to hold her accountable for her crimes in the past.

If Russia was doing this they’d call it an act of war.

regulus arcturus in reply to Olinser. | November 9, 2018 at 8:17 pm

Rep. Matt Gaetz was just denied entry to inspect the process, in direct violation of FL state law.

We are very, very close to 2A option.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to Olinser. | November 9, 2018 at 8:35 pm

I look at the lead photo, the one of this Snipes woman, and I see the arrogant look so often seen on people holding positions for which they have neither the qualifications or intelligence. On my business trips to DC, and in having to deal with Principals in urban schools, I dealt with her kind dozens of times.

Were it not for racial quotas and set-asides, they MIGHT be supervising the housekeeping staff in a 3 star hotel.

This sort of behavior with lack of law enforcement practically begs for vigilantism.

regulus arcturus | November 9, 2018 at 8:12 pm

This appears to be a coordinated national strategy. Corrupt the locals wherever possible.

The Friendly Grizzly | November 9, 2018 at 9:42 pm

Snipes has a doctorate in something called Educational Leaderhip.

https://www.browardsoe.org/Your-Election-Office/About-the-Supervisor

The degree granted for qualifications of leadership are quite similar to those granted Lois Lerner. It must be an online accreditation program provided by the liberal democratic party to only those who have sworn an oath to go down to the mat in return for any duplicity they can generate near or under the wire to advance the cause of their electorate.

is there not a state official in fl that can simply unilatterally invalidate the county votes? acting gov, lt gov, secretary of state?

this woman is so corrupt, her actions so blatant, would seem to be a reasonable action–invalidate the votes of a county rather than the votes of an entire state–seems reasonable to me

I wonder where Dr Snipes received her PHD, and what subject it is in.

She is obviously an intelligent, graceful, forceful woman that has earned her position.

Finally, I do have a Bridge I am selling …………………………

one picture is worth a thousand words.

She reminds one of maxine waters.

Just look at her face. She looks like a hooker from the Bronx way past her prime.
