Two GOP Minnesota Candidates Assaulted in Separate Incidents

Two GOP Minnesota Candidates Assaulted in Separate Incidents

One candidate has a concussion and memory loss.

When will the rhetoric quiet down? Apparently not soon enough since the Minnesota Democratic Party suspended a communications staffer due to a joke he made about beheading Republicans.

That joke comes days after two Republican candidates for the state government reported assaults against them during this week. One of them suffered a concussion.

State Representative Sarah Anderson

Anderson said a man charged her after she confronted him as he kicked her campaign signs. The man described himself has an anarchist, told her to kill herself, and punched her in the arm. From FOX 9:

Anderson said the man kicking her campaign sign Sunday afternoon said he was an anarchist and that Anderson should kill herself. She said she drove to a nearby gas station where she tried to get a photo of the man as he walked down the road.

That’s when Anderson said he charged and prevented her from shutting her car door.

“That’s when he just hauled off and punched me in the arm,” she said. “Then I put the car in reverse to just get out of there.”

Plymouth Police confirmed they were investigating but declined further comment. Anderson said police would be interviewing her attacker on Tuesday.

Anderson told the Washington Free Beacon that “[T]o have someone physically coming after you and attacking you is disheartening.”

The investigation is still going on and identified a suspect.

GOP Candidate Shane Mekeland

A man attacked first-time candidate Mekeland at a restaurant. Fox 9 reported:

Mekeland said he had stopped at a restaurant Friday to ask if he could hold a campaign event there. He was talking to a few people around a high-top table when a man in the group punched him “out of nowhere.”

Mekeland said he fell backward and blacked out when he hit the floor. He said he’d been discussing health care and taxes with the man, who at first seemed to agree with his positions.

“The last thing I heard is him say – I’ll keep out the colorful language – ‘You bleepin’ people don’t give a bleep about the middle class,’” Mekeland recalled.

Benton County Sheriff Troy Heck said he expected his office to take 7-10 days to do an investigation. Mekeland said police had already interviewed his assailant. He showed Fox 9 a medical document that confirmed his concussion diagnosis.

Mekeland told the Washington Free Beacon he has a “four-to-six week recovery time ahead of him” and “has suffered memory loss.” He even forgot Anderson’s name during the interview with the publication.

The police said they “interviewed the alleged assailant” and will hand the case to the district attorney once they receive “medical records about the extent of Mekeland’s injuries.”

Suspension

As I said before, the Minnesota Democratic Party communications staffer William Davis received a one week suspension after he posted a joke on Facebook “that Democrats would ‘bring [Republicans] to the guillotine’ on Nov. 7, the day after the midterm elections.”

Minnesota Republican Party Chairman Jennifer Carnahan criticized the suspension and wants him fired due to the alleged assaults on Anderson and Mekeland.

Carnahan also said that she has faced “numerous death threats during her tenure as the state party leader and that death threats are no laughing matter.”

Mekeland said no one from the Democratic Party has condemned the attack on him. Both Mekeland and Anderson lashed out at the party’s small punishment on Davis:

Mekeland said he was disappointed that he had not seen Democrats condemn the attack against him, but was floored to see the party take such a light approach to Davis’s comments.

“He’s a political staffer so you’d think if anybody should know boundaries, I think that’d be it,” he said.

Anderson was equally harsh about the DFL’s response, calling it “incredibly irresponsible.”

“This is exactly what incites people to violence. … It’s why you have somebody who goes and attacks me on Sunday just because we have different political beliefs,” she said.

This is what happens when the academy teaches kids that speech which makes them uncomfortable is “hate speech” and that “hate speech equals violence.” It’s a very short progression from there to “self defense” by “punching a nazi.”

These perpetrators don’t sound like SJW sheeple.

I’d be inclined to agree that more stuff like this will happen under the dangerous precedents set by the dipsh*ts trying to perpetuate their rhetoric, but I don’t think you can tie these incidents together to that dangerous rhetoric.

Anyone who votes for their opponents is condoning violence.

It is amazing how many people totally lack critical thinking skills, to the point that they do not grasp that their actions can land them in jail.

I guess we know who’s going to “take one for the team” and start kill Republicans.

Democrats must never be allowed to hold power ever again. It would be like installing Mao Zedong.

“When will the rhetoric quiet down?”

When they transition from egging each other on, to full blown terrorist conspiracy. When they go quiet, assume the worst.

The Democrat Labor Farm (hammer-sickle) party will disavow violence… they are pure as the driven Minnesota snow (in late winter road side appearance). The goal is political purity … or as the Soviets termed it in the 1920’s .. political correctness. Driving out opposition is their corrective action.

How ’bout that, the D’rats finally have come up with a new idea. The next step beyond voter suppression—candidate suppression.

Is this really surprising?

Look, every national election cycle, we have the same mantra from the Dems. “if Republicans are elected, people are going to die. If Republicans are elected, people are going to lose their government freebies… and die. If Republicans are elected, people will lose their health insurance… and die.”

Get the picture? According to the Dems, non-Democrats, especially Republicans, are going to KILL you and your family. This makes it a very small step to people being able to justify using violence against Republicans, as Republicans are going to KILL them.

The interesting thing about ll of this, is that Democrats, and their supporters, are making a prima facia case that they actually Will harm or even KILL you, if you do not support their agenda. Remember this, Democrats, as exemplified by both their leadership and some of their supporters, are likely to KILL YOU. As Hillary pointed out, how can you be civil to a party which is going to destroy you?

Time for brutal honesty. NO MATTER HOW THE ELECTION GOES, THE DEMOCRATS AND THEIR STREET THUG ALLIES WILL RESORT TO OPEN TERRORISM. If they win, they will believe that they will have a mandate to eliminate those who they consider enemies of the people. If they lose, they will consider it an act of resistance against the oppressor.

In either case, a point will quickly come when their acts will bring retaliation. There is no way to avoid it short of abject surrender.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people
with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn ,The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

1) We have more than axes, hammers, and pokers.
2) They will not accept being defeated by mere votes.
3) The survivors will re-define the social contract. There will be no quarter.

When will that ass sessions drop the hammer in antifa?

Never.

So when will Trump drop the hammer on sessions?

Lunatic Liberals & demoCraps have proven, time and time again, they ARE the enemy of OUR Nation and of Americans. Remember this when you vote in November and remove them all from public office !!!

The uber tolerant, warm and fuzzy Left is,until they aren’t.

With only the information I have at present regarding the incidents I can not place blame upon anything other than the solo perpetrators who did the foul deeds. Mental illness can prompt anti-social deeds. Personal grudges in private life can cause interpersonal mayhem.

I remain open to the possibility that politics compels some to dastardly deeds and that political rhetoric can be influential upon the weak-minded leading to a decision to harm a political candidate.

I still despise Antifa and those of that ilk. I offer moral support to the Proud Boys and if I was younger would gladly and happily walk the streets and confront those Marxist filth alongside them. If a “shootin’ war” ever breaks out and physical prowess alone is not needed I can reload the muskets as steady eyes aim and fire or even grab the shootin’ iron with that new-fangled cartridge-type ammo commonly found.

Antifa needs a close encounter with armed citizens. When they start seeing their fellows leaving the scene in body bags, then they will understand.

That’s what I keep saying: someone drops a few of them, or they at least get the absolute sh*t beat out of them, those shenanigans will hit the brakes.

Let’s just take a little look at history.

Since the late 1960s, we have seen a number of periods when political violence arose, in our country. In all cases, it was precipitated and engaged in by liberals, including Democrats. Outside of the Deep South, all the race riots of the civil rights period were the direct responsibility of liberals. White people were not going into black neighborhoods and attacking the residents there. The Anti-Vietnam War movement was a series of “demonstrations” all of which involved violence, to one degree or another. All were the work of “liberal” groups. We then enjoyed a period of relative calm, while liberal Democrats were in charge of the government. But, as they lost control, we saw the violence return. This included the various anti-WTO demonstrations, all of which began with violence. In the 21st Century, we have been treated to the violence of the BLM, Occupy Wall Street, AntiFa, and a host of others. All are liberal, groups. Look at Charlottesville. Though the media has continually spun story to make it seem that the White Supremacists caused the violence this is not born out by video records or witnesses. In fact, this evidence clearly shows that the liberal “AntiFa” groups, and their supporters attacked the other group, which was peacefully and lawfully gathering and marching. This trend has continued and gotten worse. And, the leadership pf the Democrat Party has not only failed to disavow this behavior, but has actually gone out of its way to encourage it. It has reached the point where ordinary people now believe that they are free to use physical violence against another, simply because they disagree with that person’s ideas or positions.

People can hide their heads in the sand and believe that these attacks are simply the work of a few crazies. But, it is really a disease which is spreading rapidly among the liberal citizenry. And, if you do not belong to the group mind, then you will be driven out or destroyed. Be ready for it. It is only going to get worse.

they know they are not going to win and are already prepping them for the next phase: Violence Chic

      ultraskeptic in reply to Mac45. | October 18, 2018 at 5:32 pm

” In all cases, it was precipitated and engaged in by liberals, including Democrats.” You really could use a little more historical insight, even though you almost refer to reality in your next sentence. You are aware that it wasn’t “liberals” who blew up black churches and insisted that people who peacefully protested the outrageous persecution of blacks were shot and buried, or hauled off to jail, or were otherwise persecuted by the non-liberal – despite your allegations – of the officials of much of the period. Get a grip on reality before you make statements which contradict the actual history of our stupid and irrational national experiences. The problem is people, not political affiliation. If we could just eliminate people, the whole world would be much better off.

I specifically made an exception for racial violence in the Deep south, as much of that was done by Whites, most of whom were Democrats, by the way. However, the large racial riots of the time occurred almost universally in black areas [see Detroit, Watts, Newark, Chicago, DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore Chicago and Harlem] and were perpetrated by the Black citizens living there, not by White Republican conservatives.

During the same period, you had several notable instances of left wing violence, mostly on college campuses, but also in the streets, including the 1968 DNC convention in Chicago, which was perpetrated largely by whites over other “grievances” such as the Vietnam War.

So, skeptic, as you can see, my position is essentially correct. Spinning history will not change it.

          ultraskeptic in reply to Mac45. | October 18, 2018 at 7:19 pm

I took exception to your notion that “In all cases…”. When the police attacked and killed blacks in their apartments in Chicago, that was not liberal, democratic (nor Democratic) action. That was right-wing racial slaughter. In fact, the police had been the right-wing precipitators of unjustified violence which ultimately led to violent reactions by citizens who felt victimized.
I happened to be visiting Newark in the middle of rioting there. Labeling is not even a germane approach to what took place. Right or Left Wing is irrelevant. Evil racism versus fed up victims is a more apt description. Same with much else that went on and still does. The labels change, but the human irrationality continues apace.
When I got out of the service I grew a beard and pony-tail (I used to have hair). I was actually what would now be called right-wing – stupid and naive is how I describe my former self. I believed back then that the government wouldn’t have gone into ‘Nam except to protect our interests, and that eh gummint acts on behalf of the welfare of those unable to protect themselves, at home and abroad. Gawd, was I naive! I got harrassed aplenty by right-wing cops who had made up their minds that I must be an evil left-wing puke because of my beard and long hair. Eventually, that victimization led me to examine my own preconceptions, and ultimately to decide that most political posturing has less to do with right and justice than with selfishness, greed, and power assumption. And sometimes the right are asses, sometimes the left. Democrats used to support slavery. Republicans less so. Now Democrats support human rights and dignity, including health and welfare, and Republicans less so. And neither posture does anything to require the wealthy to contribute much to our economy, though they’re happy to provide huge grants to corporations, banksters, and Wall Street.
Like I said, this is far less about political positions than it is about human irrationality and cupidity. Everyone is evil. They just appear to take turns at it.

rational men and women abhor violence–it is a last resort–but antifa and the like are going to push us as long as they’re allowed/supported–as long as they remain unchallenged, acting with impunity and without fear of consequences their nonsense will continue and likely escalate–if they truly act from the strength of their convictions and sincerely desire to take our freedoms away then they alone must take the responsibility and accept the consequences of their actions–we simply cannot surrender
