After attacks on Kavanaugh backfired, Democrats dropped Christine Ford like a hot potato

Democrats already have pivoted away from Ford and Kavanaugh to healthcare for the midterms.

It seems like a year ago, but it was only a week ago today that the Senate confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Christine Blasey Ford, the main and only potentially credible accuser, was all over the news and the focus of Democrat attention for the month before the confirmation. Now she’s all but gone from the news.

Here’s a screenshot of a Google News search for “Christine Ford” for the past week:

There’s just not a lot there. The name that once was the focus of Democrats and the news cycle is hardly mentioned anymore.

That’s not coincidence. Democrats realized that the attacks on Kavanaugh backfired, igniting Republican enthusiasm and creating meaningful polling increases for Republicans in key Senate races. That realization came before the formal confirmation, but with Kavanaugh on the court, keeping Ford the center of attention no longer served Democrats’ purposes.

Instead, Democrats have pivoted to, yes really, healthcare. CNN reported on October 9, 2018, just 3 days after confirmation and the day after the ceremonial swearing in at the White House, Senate Democrats shift focus away from Kavanaugh and pivot to health care:

Senate Democrats are quickly shifting their focus away from the polarizing Brett Kavanaugh fight and plan to intensely focus on health care in the final weeks of the midterm election season.

Top Democrats told CNN Tuesday evening that they view the focus on health care — specifically the GOP-led lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act and gut pre-existing condition protections — as more for salient in the eyes of voters, even as the GOP is campaigning heavily on the Kavanaugh fight to energize its base.

“It’s the top of voters’ minds,” said Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, of health care. “Even after everything that has happened here in Washington — not surprisingly the focus is on pocketbook issues. Not surprisingly rising health care costs are their No. 1 concern — as well as protecting people with pre-existing conditions.”

Voters, Van Hollen said, are “not going to be worried about the Kavanaugh hearings — after what happened, that happened. They’re going to be focused on day-to-day issues.”

NBC News reported on October 10, 2018, Senate Democrats look to turn focus back to health care:

Democrats are trying to turn attention to health care after a brutal month in which the confirmation battle of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh dominated news cycles, increasing previously apathetic Republican voter enthusiasm, according to party operatives.

Democrats have long believed that healthcare would help them as an issue in 2018, but the pivot away from Kavanaugh and Ford was stark this past week.

Christine Ford served a purpose for the Democrats initially, as did the unsubstantiated allegations of Deborah Ramirez and even the absurd allegations of Julie Swednick.

But Ford was the key. Now Democrats have pivoted away from her, dropping her like a hot potato.

No surprise.
Her so called “bombshell” testimony failed to derail Kavanugh, so she’s gone.

She will be brought out every time the left disagrees with the court, in other words, pretty much any ruling, and they will throw in Anita Hill, just to show that there are so many sexual predators on the Court, so the left will need to stuff the court when they get power.

The left never takes a loss and say that is it. They just keep trying till they get their way.

She did get paid handsomely for her work and will linger on as a heroine of feminist progressives. She will also avoid being investigated as that would give the Dems more ammunition…. at least through the election cycle this time.

It did uncover a serious issue of how many in the country will blindly follow the Dem party line to the point of near destruction of the country. They will be summoned forth for the next crisis as needed.

She has been banished to the island of Cindy Sheehan.

It’s not enough for her to be thrown under the bus. This woman must be investigated to the womb! What she and the Dems did to our country and way of life will take years to undo if ever. She has to be exposed as the mental case that she is. The only person who openly lied during the hearings was Ford. If Kavanaugh had been caught in just one tiny lie that would have derailed him. But for some reason, this woman was allowed to lie repeatedly!

Maybe the Repubs should constantly remind voters that Ford is still around

To add to my comment above I just read this from the Laura Ingram show. It is Bill O’Reiley talking about how the left is attacking conservatives all over the country and we are losing the presumption of innocence.

“If I were President Trump, I would order an FBI investigation into the Kavanaugh debacle,” he said, adding that Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein should especially be looked into over her appalling behavior.

“And I tell you, if they start that investigation, that scandal is going to unravel fast, because that was no accident what happened to Kavanaugh.”

If any of us were President Trump, we’d shit-can that rat sessions, then unleash the Justice Department.

Nothing is going to happen – other than shilling for corrupt democrats – with that malignant parasite Sessions occupying the AG office.

It’s a small logic jump, but it seems like it’s time to open up Fusion GPS’s bank records need to be made public for the very simple fact that Simpson had reporters on his payroll. Fusion isn’t the only Skunkworks/Spin Machine on the Dem payroll and it’s about time reporters get called out for getting paid for this crapfest.

She doesn’t care. She already made nearly a million dollars from that bullshit GoFundMe, and it’s a near guarantee she’ll get another couple million from the book somebody else is going to write for her.

And all she had to do was rehearse a laughably bad little-girl whiny voice for a week and pretend to cry on command.

    C. Lashown in reply to Olinser. | October 14, 2018 at 3:16 am

I think it’s true that “right now” she doesn’t care about her performance, but that is what an investigation is all about – bringing her to the point of caring DEEPLY.

Making money from the commission of a crime is unlawful, so there goes her big paycheck, along with any professional reputation and prison for women isn’t a pretty picture either.

I wonder if she feels like the violated whore that she is. She got fucked hard by Feinstein and Schemer for about $1mm in GoFuckMe funny money. She’s a high-priced whore, but a whore nonetheless.

Firewatch in reply to Paul. | October 14, 2018 at 11:53 am

Her name and hot should never appear in the same sentence. I thought high priced whores were better looking, but then they really can’t compete with Okinawa in 1967.

Christine Blasey Ford, the main and only potentially credible accuser, was all over the news and the focus of Democrat attention for the month before the confirmation. Now she’s all but gone from the news.
She was never credible ever

It did not take long to determine that Ford was a #MeTooLiar, and I hope that when the dust settles she is sued and stripped of every dime, thereby becoming a #MeTooLoser.

Healthcare?!

Do these unrepentant miscreants and Jonathan Gruber think we’re going let them off the hook for lying to the public about “If you like your insurance, you can keep it”, raising premiums, and criminalizing individuals who do not buy into the system?

That’s like getting a sales pitch from the arsonist who torched your last house and now wants to ‘renovate’ your current one.

As unstable as she seems to be, how will she keep her story straight as time goes on … if she ever posts on social media again, gives an interview, writes a book – every time she repeats her story people will compare it with what she’s said before. She almost has to go into seclusion for the rest of her life so as not to perjure herself. Lies have such a tendency to grow and embellish over time … if she keeps talking, she’ll eventually hang herself.

    tom_swift in reply to MrE. | October 14, 2018 at 3:03 am

That will be fobbed off as further evidence that she was “traumatized” by the experience, and the mental damage is obviously more severe than even she realized. Now she’s so confused she can barely tell if it’s raining or Tuesday, poor baby, and it’s all Kavanaugh’s fault.

When one is a liberal, the holes in the story just make it more “credible”.

      clintack in reply to tom_swift. | October 14, 2018 at 5:38 am

      Yep.

“Reasoning will never make a Man correct an ill Opinion, which by Reasoning he never acquired.”

They *feel* that Kavanaugh is a rapist, and no amount of logic or evidence will change that fact.

      JusticeDelivered in reply to tom_swift. | October 14, 2018 at 7:11 pm

I suspect that her issues are genetic in nature.

inspectorudy in reply to MrE. | October 14, 2018 at 12:32 pm

Actually, that is the genius of her fabricated story as only an FBI agent could write. There are only two things she has to remember. I am 100% sure it was Kavanaugh and I had ONLY one beer! All of the other things are contemporary lies such as the fear of flying, not knowing who was paying her lawyers, not knowing anything about a lie test, not knowing about Grassley offering for his team to come to her in CA, (Everyone in America knew about this offer) and the lie detector test prep for her BFF. If she messes them up no one will care.

Christine Blasey-Ford, meet Cindy Sheehan, may you both enjoy your obscurity and disgrace.

Not sure about that. She could be a standby heroine like Anita Hill, to be feted and pulled off the shelf at strategic moments from time to time.

I wish you “soft” conservatives would stop playing nicely nicely by using language like “The main, and potentially only CREDIBLE accuser…”!!

What exactly did you find credible about her? Given she couldn’t remember key, important details like where, when, who…not forgetting NONE of the witnesses she fingered backed her up INCLUDING her best friend!

Look, I remember 20 something years ago my wife sharing with me a story about her life long best friend being raped when they were 15. See, things like this are shared between best friends!! And Blasey-Ford didn’t share with her best friend…or her ex boyfriend….or her husband until it became politically useful…and most likely didn’t share with her therapist either.

There is absolutely NOTHING credible about this woman’s story so stop being polite about calling her credible FFS!!

Change the subject to health care? Then it’s the job of the Republicans to change it back to D’rat obstructionism and boorishness. A few more appointments up for confirmation should do it. And if the R’s can’t squeeze any in, then talk about them instead. Talk long & loud about some looming appointments the D’rats will hate. That will set their knees jerking left & right—they can’t help themselves.

What do we mean when we say “Democrats?” The politicians seem to be only one element of a system that has a powerful centralized control. To get all of the media and the Dem politicians and “groups” to abandon one focus and instantly pick up a new focus suggests a Soros type committee that is in control. This looks like a military campaign in action during a war where one unit can change its actions to distract the enemy from the real plan.

If we focus on the leftist activities, we will miss the bigger picture and lose the war. We must start looking at the larger system and not all of the distractions.

    JusticeDelivered in reply to TX-rifraph. | October 14, 2018 at 7:19 pm

There is no reason we cannot look at long term issues and at the same time needle them much like Trump does one tweet at a time 🙂

She got a participation trophy from a University. The Demoncrats are tar babies. They are always looking for the next big thing to stick with their slime.

On to the WAPO Muzzbro Murder Scheme.

Isn’t it strange that we never found out who the therapist is and that the Judiciary Committee was denied the notes despite repeatedly asking for them? I don’t buy the whole “traumatized” bit. You don’t remember when and where, but you definitely remember it was him and that you only had one beer? This defies logic. Her story/fantasy should be looked into and CBF should be revealed for what she is, a paid liar!

So having failed at “Trump wants to legalize rape and return to the Jim Crow days” we’re again back to “Trump plans to kill us all”. Nice.

Turns out she was a rotten potato.

DouglasJBender | October 14, 2018 at 9:27 am

It just occurred to me that when Ford supposedly told her marriage therapist in 2012 about her supposed long-ago sexual abuse/trauma/fondling, that her not naming names was no accident. At the time, Romney looked like a good possibility to be President, and Kavanaugh was among those listed as possible Romney nominees to the Supreme Court. But no nominee had yet been named (and of course the presidential election had not yet been held). Maybe some OTHER long-ago acquaintance of Ford’s would be nominated. (I think I read that Gorsuch attended the same high school as Kavanaugh, only a few years behind him.)

So, not naming names during the marriage therapy sessions allowed Ford to later choose what name to name. I honestly think that was intentional on her part.

Eddie Baby in reply to DouglasJBender. | October 14, 2018 at 11:46 am

Gorsuch was two years behind Kavanaugh (making him the same age as crazy Blasey). It makes a person wonder what other crazy chicks the Dems have lined up to make false accusations against other future nominees.

Too late to pivot. Dozens of states have already started early voting.

Tom Servo in reply to billdyszel. | October 14, 2018 at 8:30 pm

Yup. Trying to “pivot” this late in the game looks more like the flailing arms of those inflatable men used at grand openings and such.

DaveGinOly in reply to Tom Servo. | October 14, 2018 at 11:00 pm

Those things are nightmarish. When I was a child, I had a dream in which a creature that looked very much like one of those things looked into my second-story bedroom window, just before it began to push the house over. All the furniture started to slide, and then I woke up! I couldn’t look out a window into the dark of night for many years after that, and sometimes still get the willies when I do! LOL!

Someone here planted “Mrs Magoo” in my head and I can’t get rid of it. Too funny.

I’m sorry President Trump made his list of potential nominees public. Now the Dems have plenty of time to plan attacks against each and every one of them.

Cindy Sheehan list her son in Bush’s Ill gotten war. She had a credible grievance and is not in the same category as Ford

I met Cindy, I protested with her at Bush’s ranch and in Austin.

I never supported that war, and Trump was right to call the Nep-cons and Bush out about it.

The thousands of dead Americans, many survivors with multiple missing limbs, and brain damage, are a testament to the insanity of that war that still plaques us to this day.

RedEchos in reply to gonzotx. | October 14, 2018 at 3:14 pm

She met personally with Bush and only after that started protesting. In June of 2014 she said about Bush “I now know he’s sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he’s sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he’s a man of faith.”

Three months later she began protesting the death of her son who re-enlisted knowing his unit was going back in. Maybe she was sincere, but other Sheehan family members have blasted Cindy, claiming she’s trying to promote her personal agenda “at the expense of her son’s good name and reputation.”

It feels like she was the prototype for Tray-Mom and, just like all aggrieved women, are dropped like old socks by the Dems when no longer politically useful. Notice her continuing protest was ignored when Obama was elected and she faded away.

JusticeDelivered in reply to RedEchos. | October 14, 2018 at 7:26 pm

Tray mom was never much of a mom. Both her and her stud were piss poor parents. Raising children well is hard all consuming work, work which they did not bother with.

Tom Servo in reply to gonzotx. | October 14, 2018 at 8:33 pm

I supported Bush strongly for all 8 years of his Presidency. And after he left, all the thanks I and any other conservatives got from him was to be stabbed in the back over and over again.

So, that’s a mistake I’ll never make again.

CaliforniaJimbo | October 14, 2018 at 2:45 pm

She was used by democrats inc. she will be used again. Just don’t know how yet

Cindy Sheehan says hi.

Senator Barbrady: Move along now people, nothing to see here. Maybe I can interest you in helping us defend Obamacare?

believe the important thing to remember about the ford debacle is not that it failed but that it almost worked–with the media’s fervent and feverish support, the presumption of innocence was very nearly overturned–it was a very near thing indeed–thank God kavanaugh is a man of principle, is the quality of person that refuses to bend to intimidation and falsehood and that trump, brash new yorker that he is, stayed the course through the contrived storm

definitely breathed easier afterward–but the leftists will try again–of that can be sure

I suspect Ford had to be very carefully prepped before her testimony, and that she just might not be psychologically tough enough to withstand any future appearances.

Anita Hill wasn’t believable either, yet when one compares and contrasts Hill with Ford it’s apparent that Hill was (and probably still is) a more reliable asset.

In any case, Ford may be gone from public appearances, yet her ghost remains: the “logic” is, “sexual harassment happens, therefore I Believe her.” Such “logic” retains some potency for the upcoming election.

Her life should be ruined forever as Kavanaugh’s life has been. Instead she has received fake honors and a job for the rest of her miserable life.

For Sale: 1965 two door Ford. Seems to be running on only two cylinders. Blows smoke out the exhaust. Headlights need to be refocused. DO NOT use gas with alcohol! The carb goes out of adjustment and will need resetting by a professional.
