2018 Fundraiser for Serra High Junior ROTC Program

2018 Fundraiser for Serra High Junior ROTC Program

Thank you for your continuing support

Eastman Original

Legal Insurrection readers may recall that my son is participating in the Serra High Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC), and many kindly contributed to the annual fundraiser.

The unit is now in the midst of the 2018 fundraiser, and I would like to ask for your support again. If you wish to contribute, please click HERE, and you will find the Vertical Rise site from which to make your much appreciated contribution.

I am truly impressed with the NJROTC instructors, who stress patriotism, leadership, and personal responsibility. My son, Blake, has truly grown and matured while he has been a cadet, and I am proud to report that he has risen through the ranks to be a Cadet Chief Petty Officer.

Your donations help supply the equipment needed for special programs such as Serra High’s Cyber Patriot team, which is led by Blake. The Cyber Patriots competitions put teams of high school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Given the news about Russian hacking and Chinese espionage, the training being provided to these students in this program is invaluable.

Serra High’s Cyber Patriot’s group is coordinated through the Air Force, which has inspired my son to apply for the US Air Force Academy. His goal is to join the Air Force, as he would like to blend is love of science and technology with practical applications. I do not think he would have considered this pathway without the NJROTC program.

The monies raised also help support the NJROTC Academic Team. I am blessed to be able to be the parent coach of that team, which travels to area high schools to compete in quiz-show style meets. American government, history, and military protocol are all covered with very challenging questions.

Those interested in learning more about the Junior ROTC programs can find more information on these websites:

Legal Insurrection covers so much insanity at American educational institutions, so I am grateful for the opportunity so support our cadets and shine a light on their good works. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your financial or spiritual (prayers) support.

Hi Leslie — Blake looks like a great young man. Question for you — I went to the donation website, but, upon entering my e-mail address in the form (I tried both Yahoo and Gmail addresses), I see a comment in red type appear at the bottom of the form, stating “This e-mail is not valid.” Do I need to register with Vertical Raise, first, in order to make a donation?

I think the donation form may be linked to your email address exclusively, or, something, because when I reload the fundraising webpage, the e-mail address field is pre-filled with your e-mail address.

I’ll await your counsel! 🙂

Leslie, you make him look good in that uniform with that proud smile. What an awesome mother you are being in his life. God bless you, your son, and all the other JrROTC students at Serra High.

Thank you. I am very proud of all that he has accomplished…as it has all been entirely on his own power, with no nagging or managing on my part. The big thrill this week is that he got a “Chief’s” hat, so he looks like a Naval officer. Very handsome.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! It means the world to us.
