MA Man Arrested for Offering $500 to “anyone who kills an ICE agent”

“who else can pledge get in on this let’s make this work”

A 33 year old Cambridge, Massachusetts man named Brandon Ziobrowski was arrested this week for a tweet he recently published in which he offered $500 to “anyone” willing to kill an ICE agent. According to reports, he has also used Twitter to call for violence against police officers, and to threaten Senator John McCain.

Tom Winter and Joe Valiquette report at NBC News:

Massachusetts man arrested for threatening ICE agents on Twitter

A Boston-area man has been arrested by federal agents in New York after threatening U.S. immigration agents on Twitter.

Brandon Ziobrowski, 33, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, was arrested Thursday morning after posting on Twitter in July that he would give $500 to anyone who would kill an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent…

In March he began tweeting threatening messages about ICE, according to the indictments.

On July 2, he tweeted: “I am broke but I will scrounge and literally give $500 to anyone who kills an ice agent. @me seriously who else can pledge get it on this let’s make it work.”

Here’s a copy of the tweet:

Cambridge Man Accused Of Tweeting Threats Against ICE Agents, McCain

Ziobrowski was charged with one count of use of interstate and foreign commerce to transmit a threat to injure another person. He was arrested Thursday morning in New York and will appear in Boston at a later date.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, in one alleged tweet on July 2, Ziobrowski wrote: “I am broke but I will scrounge and literally give $500 to anyone who kills an ice agent. @me seriously who else can pledge get in on this let’s make this work.” At the time of the tweet, Ziobrowski had 448 Twitter followers…

U.S. attorney Andrew Lelling said his office will aggressively pursue anyone inciting violence against law enforcement, citing the shooting of four officers in Massachusetts this year.

“Under the guise of political debate, we are facing a rising tide of public threats and invitations to violence that undermine a Democratic society and a rule of law,” Lelling said during a press conference Thursday morning. “Federal agents enforce laws enacted by Congress.”

Ziobrowski did not do this rashly in a moment of anger, he has a history:

A Feb. 24, 2018 tweet read: “Guns should only be legal for shooting the police like the second amendment intended.”

In March 2018, Ziobrowski allegedly started tweeting threatening messages against federal law enforcement agents that work for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

On March 1, 2018, in responding to a tweet from the ICE Field Office stating that ICE officers put their “lives on the line to arrest criminal aliens,” Ziobrowski posted a message that read: “Thank you ICE for putting your lives on the line and hopefully dying I guess so there’s less of you?”

Congressman Steve Scalise spoke out about this on Twitter. He has a rather unique perspective on issues like these, having been shot by a Bernie Sanders supporting, Rachel Maddow fan last year:

The person America needs to hear from on this is Senator Elizabeth Warren. Ziobrowski lives in her city. What do you think the odds are on him being one of her supporters? She is listed as one of his “Likes” on Facebook:

Here’s Warren at a rally in Boston in June calling for an end to ICE:

Will anyone from our brave media ask Warren for her thoughts on Mr. Ziobrowski?

“I am broke but I will scrounge and literally give $500 to anyone who kills an ice agent.”

Defense: ‘Ha-ha, it was just a joke. BTW, all the cool people understand that that the new meaning of “literally” is “figuratively.” So sentence this poor fools to some community service already and let’s, umm, Move On.’

How stupid must one be to broadcast threats on social media? “Hey, lets conspire to murder someone. I’ll rent a billboard to advertise my intentions.”

Even though there is probably a mental health aspect to this, the real pity is that his prosecution will get little to no attention from the media. So the lesson for the growing mob the left incites will be invisible.

(I say there is a mental health aspect to this because with the few details here it has the feel of someone using a pathological action to get attention. He did not for example plot or attempt to carry out actions himself. He’s a symptom of the illness that social media feeds. And to be clear it doesn’t make him any less responsible.)

Whatever the maximum penalty is for this crime, this idiot deserves it.

” … charged with one count of use of interstate and foreign commerce to transmit a threat to injure another person”?

I was recently in a Social Security Administration office and every desk there has a sign advising that it’s a federal crime “to kill, kidnap, assault, intimidate or interfere with federal employees on account of performance of their official duties.” If the consequences for intimidating aged female office clerks is so severe, I’d expect something a bit stronger for putting out a contract on armed federal agents.

so, let me get this right – he “wants to slit John McCain’s throat” and then puts a hit on ICE agents. Does he not realize that John McCain is probably the best man in congress to assist in amnesty, and thus make ICE agents useless?

If this is even addressed by the Left or the MSM it will be treated as a) clearly a joke because he had no money to follow thru on it or b) proof that Trump destroying Obamacare has prevented this fine young man from the mental health care he needs – thus if something bad happens it is Trump’s fault.

Certainly it’s no surprise that he’s from Massachusetts (remember McGovern, 1972). What Massachusetts offers is yet another example of being eaten alive from within by those (today’s liberals*) who refuse to allow others to have the promise of America. Hard to believe today that MA had been one of the original thirteen.

*Spawn of the likes of the Unitarian Universalists, including John Adams, Emerson, Thoreau, and the other loony transcendentalists. If you notice the common denominator of Harvard among these people, you’re nearing the source of the problem.

Not just MA but Cambridge, MA. To many in Cambridge his commentary is perfectly acceptable. They truly believe that Trump is Hitler and that we are not far removed from a Handmaid’s Tale future.

They aren’t exposed to any contrary viewpoint because everyone with whom they interact agrees with them.

So how did they happen to apprehend this guy in NY? He sounds like the type who doesn’t get out of Mom’s basement very often . . . which would pretty much confine him to Cambridge.

I was shocked when I read this story. This guy doesn’t look like a typical Bernie Bro at all!

This guy’s a real lulu … here’s his latest selfie clip from his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/brandon.ziobrowski/videos/10156228282766265/

This guy is total scum. I hope he goes to federal prison for a very long time.

Why McCain? Not only is the guy going to expire on his own soon enough but he’s about as middle useless dolt as you can get in Congress right now.

The folks in New Hampshire have a term for folks like this; they call them Massholes. Being a Masshole is not a crime; although when they move to New Hampshire the locals wish they would go back home.

So he offered $500 to go after ICE, law enforcement, AND McCain?

I’m confused-which side is he on? 🙂

He is one of those weak-minded types the DNC uses to perpetrate or provoke violence. James O’Keefe got a member of the Clinton Campaign on tape bragging about their ability to motivate such people.

Your title is inaccurate. “Man” does not apply.

I take exception to the word “man” in the headline. That is no man.

Mostly likely part of a not-well-thought-out grand plan to have the penal system pay for reassignment surgery. Oh will he be disappointed to find out that penile is spelled differently.

Since we have already seen Vox come to the aid of Sarah Jeong by saying when women on Twitter want to “kill” a white man, it really just means that they think women are unfairly treated.

See, “kill” is just a word they like to use a lot, but it’s nothing to be worried about!

I’m sure we’ll see the MSM come to the defense of this guy too.

“Aw, he didn’t really mean it!”

Anyone care to guess who this twinkie voted for in 2016?

Tell him if he drops the soap in prison, not to pick it up.

No, tell him to bend over and pick it up. Also, tell him if someone leaves a candy bar on his pillow to eat it.

Don’t tell him that means he’s engaged. Don’t tell him that, just eat the candy bar. We want this one to enjoy the full prison experience.
