Kavanaugh Derangement Syndrome Exploits Civics Ignorance

Kavanaugh Derangement Syndrome Exploits Civics Ignorance

Yale Law Students pen open letter that reads, “people will die if he is confirmed.”

The world is ending, Armageddon is nigh, and it’s all because Judge Kavanaugh was nominated to take Justice Kennedy’s place on the Supreme Court.

Progressives are actively exploiting civics ignorance to raise money oppose Kavanaugh’s nomination.

In almost every instance where abortion and Roe v. Wade are mentioned, it’s supposed that Kavanaugh HIMSELF will overturn Roe and all the poor women will die in back-alley abortions.

See Governor Cuomo:

That’s not how it works. That’s not how any of this works. Sue who? What for? Where?

FACTS. HOW DO THEY WORK?

So.Many.Things.Wrong.

1) Spoiler: 7 MEN ruled in favor of Roe (2 dissented), but keep up the ignorant fear mongering.

2) Worse still, NARAL is actively frat-shaming, perpetuating the baseless stereotype used by campus kangaroo courts that “frat boys” inherently disrespect women.

3) Making fun of someone’s name is a super good argument*

*If you’re five-years-old

Speaking of five-year-olds…

“Daughters made Obama less sexist, but having daughters means Kavanaugh is sexist” or something

This Open Letter from Yale Law Students, Alumni, and Educators Regarding Brett Kavanaugh is particularly off the chain

“Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination presents an emergency — for democratic life, for our safety and freedom, for the future of our country,” they write. “People will die if he is confirmed.”

Full letter here (if you can stomach it).

And if you’re still worried about Kavanaugh, don’t worry, Handmaid’s Tale is way more brutal

According to this super scientific Twitter poll:

If you know how the court system works, you know that just about everything progressives are saying about Kavanaugh is untrue.

The Supreme Court was not created to protect Roe vs. Wade, it exists to protect the Constitution from legislative and executive overreach.

“People will die if he is confirmed.”

I thought everybody was dead already. Just to be safe, Trump needs to nominate another Sotomayor or Kagan. NOBODY died after they were nominated and confirmed.

Except Antonin Scalia. But other than that there were zero deaths in this country. Well, except for Sen. Inouye. Which gave Obama a chance to eulogize him by mentioning himself and how lucky “Danny” must have felt to have met the Chicago Jeezus. But other than that NOBODY…

Well, Neil Armstrong died too. Which was fortunate as it gave Obama a chance to issue a White House statement complete with a photo of him gazing at the moon.

Bucky Barkingham | July 11, 2018 at 3:50 pm

Just for the sake of discussion, should there be a decision from SCOTUS that appears to endanger Roe v Wade in any conceivable way the Leftists will find some Judge to issue an injunction against it, Constitution be damned.

Arminius in reply to Bucky Barkingham. | July 11, 2018 at 4:25 pm

Apparently so. Gov. Cuaomo is threatening that NYS will sue if SCOTUS overturns Roe v. Wade. Umm, in what court system in what universe does that make sense? On planet earth in a little patch of Earth called the United States the SCOTUS sits atop the federal court system. Does he expect the SCOTUS to oveturn Roe v. Wade, then rule against itself and for Cuomo in his lawsuit?

Is he going to sue in the in the New York state system? Why? The NYS Supreme Court doesn’t have jurisdiction outside the state. Since overturning Roe v. Wade will leave the issue of abortion to the states, and abortion will remain legal in NY, what’s the point again?

So, yeah, your question seems to be exactly on point as my head really hurts at this time and I have a hard time thinking. So now I at least know what it likes to be a libtard. The difference is I’ll get better again.

      World Court, natch.

MajorWood in reply to Arminius. | July 11, 2018 at 6:02 pm

So basically, only a state where abortion was restricted before RvW could even conceivably sue. IIRC, New York was THE state to go to before RvW, so if anything, I would like to see New York abortion clinics side with overturning the ruling as they will stand to make big $$$ from reduced competition.

That would make some heads explode.

I promise to never link to Slate again. But this review of his eulogy of Daniel Inouye is hilarious.

“Today We Are Gathered … To Hear More About Me
President Obama was supposed to eulogize the memory of Sen. Daniel Inouye. Instead he told us about his favorite summer vacation.

Someone needs to tell Barack Obama—it must get particularly confusing this time of year—that his own birth is not Year One, the date around which all other events are understood. His much-noted, self-referential tic was on cringe-worthy display Friday when the president gave his eulogy for the late Sen. Daniel Inouye, who served in Congress for half a century representing Obama’s birth state of Hawaii.

…Obama likes to see events through the lens of his own life’s chronology. Thus we learn that Inouye was elected to the Senate when Obama was 2 years old. Now you could make this relevant by describing how Inouye worked to send federal dollars (you don’t have to call it “pork” at a funeral) to transform Hawaii’s roads and schools, for example, so that the Hawaii Obama grew up in had the kind of facilities people on the mainland had long taken for granted. But no, we simply learn that Inouye was Obama’s senator until he left the state to go to college—something apparently more momentous than anything Inouye did during his decades in office.

…Obama never really gives us a sense of the life being celebrated. (He keeps referring to Inouye as “Danny,” which somehow seems inappropriate given the occasion and their great difference in age.) From Obama’s telling, the next significant event in Inouye’s life was greeting his new Senate colleague, Barack Obama…”

If republicans have 49* votes and 1vp vote it’s all water under the bridge.

*McCain’s tumor could not be reached for comment. Though the tumor’s spokeperson EKG-1138 did signal support via clipped sine wave.

Abortion is the biggest non-issue/ fake-issue as it is not in contention legislatively almost anywhere.

Majorities of Republicans alone are pro-choice in almost every poll. Yes they are also pro-life in every poll. Conservatives are BOTH, just like Sarah Palin: pro-life but as gov. supported choice, not imposing her view on others. Classic conservative. Pro life AND liberty.

The CURRENT legislative and constitutional debate is over whether people who believe that abortion is murder can be forced to pay for other people’s abortions, as blue states have been trying to do since Roe and as Obama tried to impose through Obamacare. THAT will get shot down, and like when Sandra Fluke couldn’t get someone else to buy her birth control pills for her it will be a “war on women” in the left’s usual fraudulent demagogic sense. Nastiness for stupid totalitarian wanna-bes.

I found Gov Cuomo (D-batshit crazy) recentl actions particularly laughable.
When Roe v Wade was passed, abortions were legal in New York (and many other states). If Roe were to disappear off the books tomorrow, abortion would still be legal tomorrow.

I was typing my response to Bucky Barkingham so I didn’t see this. But, yeah, that was my point as well.

And my head really does hurt because I was trying to understand his point in order to respond to it. Lesson: never try wrap your mind around batshit crazy.

gbear in reply to Neo. | July 11, 2018 at 4:50 pm

We New Yorkers are paying the price for Matilda & Mario not taking advantage of NY abortion laws.

Michael Johnson | July 11, 2018 at 4:38 pm

The “people will die” charge is illogical to the point of absurdity.

If abortion were outlawed, millions of babies would not be killed. That’s pretty much the polar opposite of “people will die”.

Thanks for another example of Democrats demonstrating “How stupid can you get”?

Comanche Voter | July 11, 2018 at 4:48 pm

Yup Dems, people are going to die today. And tomorrow; and they died the day before yesterday. Now the honorable way is to die of natural causes. But for you folks at Yale Law and for Cuoumo and Pelosi and their ilk, dying of terminal stupidity is a bad way to go.

DaveGinOly in reply to Comanche Voter. | July 11, 2018 at 7:42 pm

“But for you folks at Yale Law and for Cuoumo and Pelosi and their ilk, dying of terminal stupidity is a bad way to go.”

    But entirely appropriate.

“people will die if he is confirmed.”

Let the voices from the twilight fringe guide you. He’s Pro-Choice?

Personally, I don’t think Gov. Kumo ( phonetically speaking) is as ignorant and moronic as indicated by his anti-Kavanaugh hyperbole. When I was taught Con Law in college and law school, both professors of opposite parts of the political spectrum, were very clear that Roe applied ONLY to those states that outlawed abortion. States like New York, they said, would be totally unaffected by the ruling.

Dang, is it just me or do the Dems come off as bat shite crazy when fundraising? That’s totally what is going on here.

ahad haamoratsim | July 11, 2018 at 9:46 pm

If Kavanaugh is confirmed, people will be sent to prison for eating meat on Friday or drinking beer during lent, only priest will be allowed to hold office, and all government business will be required to be conducted in Latin.

That Yale letter makes it official….. The student body at any Community or Vocational college is smarter and more capable of critical thinking than the boobs at Yale… They are neither the brightest nor the best despite what they tell themselves.

“strip us of our hard-won bodily autonomy”

So blind.

You know that intercourse carried a risk of pregnancy, yet you CHOOSE to accept that risk.

You know that birth control is never 100% effective, yet you CHOOSE to accept that risk.

And then, when Murphy strikes and abother life is on the table, you whine about autonony and choice.

Women need to accept responsibility for the reproductive choices they make.

“Hi, welcome to Ruby Tuesday’s. I’m Brett, and I’ll be your server tonight.”

Oh really? How about

“Hi, I’m Brett, and I’ll be your Super Bowl winning quarterback tonight.”

or

“Hi, I’m Bret (only one t), and I’ll be your World Series winning pitcher tonight.

“Hi, I’m Stephen Colbear, and I’ll be your major league asshole tonight.”

I used to think the brightest and best went to the Ivy League schools…the 1990s began the movement to stupidity and none of the graduates or students now look smart enough to calculate a tip and Ruby Tuesdays!
