Pallywood Payola: Hamas paid Gaza family to lie about baby being killed by Israeli tear gas

Pallywood Payola: Hamas paid Gaza family to lie about baby being killed by Israeli tear gas

And the international media was all too willing to play along.

Pallywood is the industry of anti-Israel activists who spread fake images, stories and so on meant to portray Israelis in the worst possible light. Often the fakery is by western activists — you don’t have to be Palestinian to engage in Pallywood.

In all the dozens of Pallywood instances we have documented, I don’t think any has been as cruel as the claim that dominated headlines recently that a 8-month-old Palestinian infant, Laila Anwar al-Ghandour, was killed by Israeli tear gas during “protests” at the Gaza-Israel border.

https://www.google.com/search?q=gaza+infant+inhale+tear+gas&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjXwtPV9aDbAhXFt1kKHTdvD24QsAQILQ&biw=1745&bih=818&dpr=1.25#imgrc=_

It was false, as we documented in Cruel Pallywood: Hamas Health Ministry withdraws claim Israeli tear gas killed baby.

Yet being caught in a lie was just the cost of doing business for Pallywood. The narrative traveled a thousand times around the globe, and inspired international outrage, before the truth came out.

But it gets worse.

It turns out that Hamas paid the baby’s family to lie about the cause of death.

The Times of Israel reports:

A 20-year-old Palestinian indicted Thursday on terror-related charges told Israeli investigators during his interrogation that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar paid his relatives to falsely tell the media that his baby cousin died of tear gas inhalation….

The suspect also disclosed that he was related to Layla Ghandour, the 8-month-old baby whose May 14 death was originally reported to have been caused by inhalation of tear gas sprayed by Israeli forces at Gaza border protesters. The story of the baby’s purported death at the hands of Israel dominated global media at the time, becoming one of the central elements of reporting on Palestinian opposition to the May 14 inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem.

According to the indictment, Omar told authorities that two weeks prior to his arrest, he was among the 40,000 Gazans taking part in the May 14 protests at the border when his mother called to inform him that his baby cousin had died.

Upon arriving home shortly thereafter, the suspect was told that Layla had died of a blood disease similar to the one that took the life of the deceased infant’s brother, who succumbed to the condition at the same age in 2017.

However, Omar told authorities, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar paid Layla’s parents, Miriam and Anwar Ghandour, NIS 8,000 ($2,206) to tell the media that the infant had died due to tear gas inhalation at the Gaza protests.

Sinwar, released in the Gilad Shalit prisoner swap, has been present at the Gaza border protests, though always from a safe distance.

Is this *just* another Pallywood hoax? Yes, but one that demonstrates more than others how depraved Hamas and its supporters are. And how willing to collude in these deceptions is the international media.

Prisoner swaps—the gift that keeps on giving.

Gosh, gee, what a surprise. But the American media is so gullible, so anti-Israel, that they gobble this stuff up. The Hamas crowd is just doing what obviously works.

I remember some years ago the MSM faithfully reported that Israeli warplanes had just attacked an ambulance with missiles. They (the Palestinians) thoughtfully provided photos of a wrecked (junked is a better word) ambulance with holes in it. You didn’t have to look closely to see all the rust around the “fresh” missile holes. But they see what they want to see and they report what they want to report.

Current American media remind me of Henry Ford and his rag of a newspaper, the Dearborn Press. He should have been tried for treason for his collaboration with and funding of the Nazis. Larger scale, but same MO.

What the **** are you talking about?

It’s mor4e likely that son Edsel was the real collaborator, even though Hitler gave dad Henry some German medal:

You’re unfamiliar with Henry Ford’s blatant anti-Semitism, use of the Dearborn Press to print anti-Semitic propaganda, and, Ford’s close and warm relationship to Nazi leadership?

Milhouse in reply to guyjones. | June 24, 2018 at 8:15 am

First but least important, I’m unfamiliar with the existence of any such paper as the Dearborn Press. Second and more important, I’m unfamiliar with Ford ever having funded the Nazis, and I’m also unfamiliar with his ever having collaborated with them. Third and most important, I’m certainly unfamiliar with his having done either one of these things while they were an enemy of the USA.

That he was an antisemite, and published antisemitic propaganda, is both well known and completely irrelevant. But moving on to your claims I’m also unfamiliar with any “close and warm relationship” he had with Nazi leadership. That they admired him is, once again, irrelevant and does not support your claim.

Milhouse, you now have your reading assignment. Start with Who Financed Hitler: The Secret … Book by James Pool and Suzanne Pool. Aslo read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dearborn_Independent#Republication_in_Germany

Henry Ford was a scumbag who played a huge role in bringing the Nazis to power.

In my opinion, Henry Ford should have been tried and executed with the the Nazis at the Nuremberg trials.

Usually you seem to be pretty knowledgeable, granted that quite often your head is stuck in a dark place, leading to incorrect interpretations.

Milhouse in reply to guyjones. | June 24, 2018 at 10:15 am

You claimed there was a paper called the Dearborn Press; do you now admit there wasn’t?

As far as I know there is no evidence at all that Ford ever financed the Nazis. If you think there is such evidence, present it. I’m not about to waste my time finding and reading some book you recommend without first having reason to suppose it to be credible. Anyone can publish anything they like, especially if they claim to be exposing “secrets”.

Most importantly, however, you have not even made an attempt to defend your outrageous accusation that he committed treason, and should have been executed for it. I demand that you either defend this claim now, or withdraw it and apologize for making it.

As for your new suggestion that he should have been tried at Nuremberg, that’s even more outrageous. He was a US citizen, and delivering him to that extrajudicial process would have been an outrageous crime; had Truman done so he should himself have been executed.

What point do you think you are making? What made you think I was unaware of this, and how do you think your link helps JusticeDelivered or guyjones?

Wait! This can’t be correct. Is it possible that radical groups would LIE? This has to be fake news. After all, we KNOW that the Syrian government used chemical weapons on people in rebel controlled areas of that country in both 2017 and 2018. We know this because these same radical groups TOLD us this happened.

So, big deal. A radical terrorist organization LIED to advance their agenda. And because the media has some sympathy for this group or shares that group’s agenda or a parallel agenda and, therefor, accepts whatever this group says as truth, we are supposed to get all upset about it? Please. These people are proven liars. They have been caught lying for the last 70 years. What do you expect?

Reagan said “Trust, but verify” with regard to Russian disarmament. It should be, don’t trust anything or anyone, until you have verified the information that they give you, personally.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled nighttime fantasy show, the The Mainstream News Media.

JusticeDelivered | June 23, 2018 at 10:25 pm

What I want to know is why smarter people continue to put up with dull witted members of society demanding to be advanced beyond their abilities. This is not about race, it is about people earning they way. That starts in school with hard work. It starts with good parenting.

I never understood why they admitted the lie, and now I really don’t understand it. Having paid for it, why throw it away?

Wasn’t there a confession by a family member to Israeli forces? They’d have to publicly go to war with the family, and also directly oppose friendly Western newspapers like The Guardian that had seen documentation about the prior health issues. Maybe it wasn’t worth it to them? Besides, all they did was treat the cause of death as “disputed”, wasn’t it?

Milhouse in reply to JBourque. | June 24, 2018 at 8:22 am

The confession only came now; they admitted the lie a month ago. And even the confession shouldn’t have forced them to admit it, since it came only after the person had been questioned by the Israelis, whom everyone knows to use torture (and that, for once, isn’t a lie).

…a 8-month-old Palestinian infant, Laila Anwar al-Ghandour, was killed by Israeli tear gas during “protests” at the Gaza-Israel border.

The parents (supposedly) take their 8-month-old baby to border “protests”?

They should have followed the example of the brave Hamas leader who “has been present at the Gaza border protests, though always from a safe distance.”

Milhouse in reply to rinardman. | June 24, 2018 at 8:57 am

The story was that the mother had left the baby with her (the mother’s) brothers while she went to the dentist and the rest of the family went to the riot. When the baby started fussing one of the young brothers, thinking the mother was at the riot too, decided to take the baby and look for her. He put on a good show for the press, sobbing in remorse for having taken her there and blaming himself for her death.

Shouldn’t CNN just acquire Pallywood? Or vice versa? Why duplicate effort?

Milhouse in reply to Dimsdale. | June 24, 2018 at 12:50 pm

Um, that doesn’t make sense. Pallywood is not a company, it’s a technique, which CNN, Reuters, AP, AFP, BBC, etc. all know about and fully cooperate with.
