Having Learned Nothing, Democrats Turn to Hollywood for Help in 2018 and 2020

Having Learned Nothing, Democrats Turn to Hollywood for Help in 2018 and 2020

“Look, the world knows they don’t necessarily need Hollywood telling people what to do”

Liberals in the entertainment industry put out multiple ads before the 2016 election, pleading with voters to elect Hillary Clinton and not Donald Trump. Not only did it not work, but it sort of backfired as people were sick of Hollywood elites telling them what’s best for America.

This could be one of the reasons why so many of these same folks are lashing out now. They see Trump as a rejection of their influence. Samantha Bee is calling Ivanka Trump the “C” word on television and Robert DeNiro is screaming “F” Trump at the Tony Awards.

And this is who Democrats are enlisting to help them win future elections.

David Siders reports at Politico:

Democrats turn to Hollywood for messaging help

The Democratic National Committee and members of Congress are turning to Hollywood for help with voter turnout and messaging ahead of the midterm elections and 2020 presidential campaign, quietly consulting with a group of actors, writers and producers here.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez, several House members and other top elected officials have already met with the group, formed by members of the entertainment industry in the wake of the 2016 election, that participants liken to a TV writers’ room, complete with producers of such programs as “Veep.” The existence of the group and details of the meetings have not been previously reported.

The group has discussed targeted voter-registration programs with visiting Democrats, as well as the party’s framing of issues ranging from abortion rights to gun control. In one recent meeting, a Midwestern senator sought advice about how to discuss gun control with conservative-leaning voters in his or her state, multiple participants said.

David Mandel, who was an executive producer on the TV show “Veep” is involved in this effort and provides what is possibly the funniest line in the article:

“Look, the world knows they don’t necessarily need Hollywood telling people what to do,” Mandel said. “I have no desire to tell people what to do.”

Uh huh. Sure you don’t.

Democrats who are planning to run in 2020 are also reportedly asking Obama for his blessing. That dovetails perfectly with the DNC’s new Hollywood plan.

“It’s like they want Trump to win a second term.”

Perhaps some have convinced themselves that a Trump second term will finish the Republican Party forever? After all, they know how poorly Trump’s first term is being received by the people (well, the people who count).

Actually, a second Trump term may mean the end of the Republican Party. At least the end of the collaborationist, Vichy, UniParty Republicans. And the beginning a of Deplorable Party that will stand up for all Americans.

If Dems really believe that the problem with 2016 was ‘not enough Hollywood “messaging”‘, who am I to tell them that they’re wrong?

So, I guess we can expect to see more videos of actors repeating and finishing each other’s sentences.

Possibly off topic, but on the night of the rape, Roman Polanski spent the evening trading notes and tips with DiNiro.

Hollywood needs to manufacture a phony war to distract from its sex scandals.

The democrats turn to Hollywood which is associated with abusing women, molesting little girls and boys, filled with drugs, alcohol, violence, and death and the poster child for hypocrisy and sexual harassment and this is who they want to lead the charge for 2018 and 2020?

Yeah, that will work.

If Hillary won, Harvey and friends would still be in charge and rapes of young women, sexually assaulting children and other good clean Hollywood fun would still be the norm.

Trump ruined their Hollywood. They have to get back at him.

Personally, I love Hollywood telling me what MY “values” should be- as though they’d know a “value” if it bit them in the rear end! When I want my “values” to include addiction, abuse, and sexual deviation, I know who to call.

We’re a bunch of drunk, drug abusing, suicide committing, raping deviants, but let us tell you how to live your life.

Inside their little liberal echo chamber they have no idea how little the rest of the country cares about them or their opinions.

Notice that great brave vulgar De Niro only spoke out where he knew it was safe to do so. When he rants on Twitter he gets massacred

‘Democrats turn to Hollywood for help’

I hope they get Weinstein and DeNiro to do the promos.

Is Robert De Niro’s “F*** Trump” tirade the other night the “help” the Dems are looking for?

Meanwhile Alec Baldwin has convinced himself that if he ran in 2020 he would win.

I had to clean the coffee off my screen when I read that.

His campaign would be that he knows how to be President because he played one on TV… perfect credentials.

Really..Baldwin being so electable, definitely should be their candidate. Their own new age version of Ronald Reagan, subtracting John Wayne and adding Robert Di Nero as their “values” guide.

Every Democrat should be able to get behind their platform.
Would enjoy watching this play out in real time.

Democrats are like petro-autocracies: they have one weapon, and up until now it’s been so effective that they’ve never bothered to develop any other skills.

If Democrats were capable of learning from elections…they would no longer be Democrats.

You have to ask if there is “collusion” between Trump and Deniro?

Yeah that’s the trick – more Hollywoodies for Dems.

Paging Harvey Weinstein.
