“She has completely lost touch with reality“

Missouri Democrat Claire McCaskill recently launched an RV tour of her state to show voters how in touch she is with them. She also supplemented her travel with her private plane.

Brent Scher of the Washington Free Beacon broke the story:

Claire McCaskill’s Private Plane Used on Campaign’s RV Tour Through Missouri

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.) said her campaign was “hitting the road” in an RV to tour the state, but public flight information indicates that travel also occurred on her million-dollar private plane.

The RV, named BigBlue by the campaign, was unveiled late last month by McCaskill, who said she was “very excited to hit the road” in it for an upcoming “Veterans for Claire” tour. The campaign kept a live blog of its three-day RV trip from May 29 to May 31, posting updates of its whereabouts.

Unmentioned on the blog is the role McCaskill’s private plane played on the trip. The aircraft is a single-engine turboprop valued on her financial disclosure forms at more than $1 million dollars.

McCaskill has taken steps to hide the use of her plane. In a 2017 email obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the senator asked the Federal Aviation Administration to block radar tracking information on her plane from being publicly broadcast on the internet. The request blocks the ability to track her plane on websites such as FlightAware.com.

Here’s the super cool RV that McCaskill spent some time riding in during her tour:

Scher notes that at certain points the RV and the plane followed the same route:

The GPS-based data transmitted by McCaskill’s plane for the days of her RV tour across Missouri indicates that it was used to travel between campaign stops.

On Tuesday, May 29, for example, McCaskill’s tour took her from Waynesville in central Missouri, west to Springfield, and then further west to nearby Joplin, according to the campaign’s blog.

The plane, according to the tracking data for the day, took the same route as the campaign RV.

McCaskill’s plane has been an issue for her for some time. The National Republican Senatorial Committee released this ad in the fall of 2017:

Elana Schor of Politico has more on this:

McCaskill used private plane on campaign RV tour

Sen. Claire McCaskill confirmed Tuesday that she used her private plane during a three-day RV tour of her state last month, an admission that promises to become a political headache for the Missouri Democrat in her reelection bid.

McCaskill claimed that a report on her air travel in The Washington Free Beacon, which used aircraft tracking data to map the plane’s path following her RV tour for two of its three days, was “not accurate.” However, she went further than the publication did in confirming that she did use a plane for part of the tour.

“I added some stops with the use of the plane, but I was on the RV so much that the broken drawer drove me crazy,” McCaskill said in a brief Tuesday interview in the Capitol, adding that “I even lost an iPad around a corner on the RV.”…

McCaskill’s GOP challenger, Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley, slammed McCaskill as “out of touch” after the report on her travel in the conservative Free Beacon.

“She has completely lost touch with reality,“ Hawley said in an interview, adding that McCaskill “has lived in the DC corridor“ for long enough to have “no inkling“ of how her state operates.

Hawley published this tweet yesterday:

Nice airplane. So many Dems/Progs have a tenuous grasp of the reality the rest of have to live with. Travelling like commoners is so beneath them.

Unlike Pruitt, she is spending her own money. Is it surprising or shocking that a politician wants to control her image?

Trump does the opposite. He pumps up how much money he claims has. He claimed he was so rich that he would fund his own campaign. He didn’t. It is possible that he turned a profit on it by charging the campaign for every dime he could bill it. He collect rent of offices, planes, catering services, logistics, security, paraphernalia, hats. He wanted to make sure he won even if he lost.

That is why I call him the YellowGrifterInChief. Trump once sued an unauthorized biographer for writing that Trump was not a billionaire. Guess how far his suit went? About as far as the circumference of his waist line.

Wow. Who does that guy think he is? A Clinton?

        Milhouse in reply to txvet2. | June 14, 2018 at 10:37 am

Yes, he does. Never forget that right up to the moment he announced his candidacy he was the Clintons’ BFF. Never forget his long call to Bill Clinton right before his announcement. Never forget the evidence that when he started his campaign he had no expectation of winning and having to face his friend Hillary C in the general election.

Yes, he’s done well as president, far better than his past would lead anyone to expect, mostly because he’s farmed out most of his job to good decent Republicans and let them do the right thing in his name. That’s great, and if he keeps it up I might even vote for him next time. But its not the real Trump. The real Trump remains, as the Yellow fellow says, a con man and a NY liberal Democrat.

Why would we care what you call the President?

From your logic, Senator McCaskill should just own up to her money and then work to make life better for all Americans. You know, the way President Trump does…

Term limits.

C’mon, man. It ain’t like she’s the only passenger on a G650 hopping around Missouri. She’s tooling around in a Pilatus. Five yard penalty at best.

forksdad in reply to Merlin. | June 13, 2018 at 9:42 am

She’s in Missouri not Alaska, 15 yards and loss of down.

rinardman in reply to Merlin. | June 13, 2018 at 10:15 am

The Pilatus is like the Toyota Corolla of private airplanes. That may be why she wants to keep it under wraps, she’s probably embarrassed she can’t afford a Gulfstream.

JustShootMeNow | June 13, 2018 at 9:30 am

Give her a break, you can’t drive through a flyover state, that would be all wrong…

Nice customized $100k+ Class A motorhome she’s got there. They ride like silk on rails, unless they’re on roads that Air Claire has robbed highway maintenance funds from in order to pay for her pet projects. She’s just unable to see the problem she created.

YellowGrifterInChief in reply to georgfelis. | June 13, 2018 at 3:07 pm

Christie robbed Peter to pay Paul because he need to maintain the fiction that he never raised taxes.

What exactly did Claire rob to pay for something else?

Her family has grown rich off of government contracts. So there’s that.

Good Gravy! Chris Christie, that cucked, never Trump, rino donut bag? That New Jersey corrupt, Obama hugging, Oliver Hardy who can’t find Omar the tent maker to sew him a jacket, that Chris Christie?

If you expect anyone here to stand up for that guy you’ve got a long wait.

But then that’s not your game is it? You are the type of troll that exists to derail threads. The only question is if you’re doing it for free or you get paid.

I think she wants to retire and this is the easiest way to do it without actually quitting. No one, not even a Dem can be this dumb!

An “RV” tour? That’s so redneck. I know where she can get a good deal on a Scooby Van.

American Human | June 13, 2018 at 10:30 am

This reminds me of Hillary’s tour in the Scooby Doo Van. She would fly from one place to another and meet up outside the town, ride into town, do her stuff, then ride out again and get back on the plane.
I also recall when she went into Chipotle where no one recognized her and she had to have one of her peons actually pay for the lunch.
Imagine the utter tension and dark atmosphere on that van when she was actually on it. The driver still probably has nightmares and suffers PTSD.

What was her net worth before politics and how did she accumulate such wealth after politics (Should be required to be disclosed by all in politics)

    Milhouse in reply to rduke007. | June 13, 2018 at 11:12 am

Her husband is the one with the money.

alaskabob in reply to Milhouse. | June 13, 2018 at 11:31 am

Does this make being a Senator a rich man’s wife ‘s hobby?

Trump has shown that being rich and being connected to the general population is possible. In her case it may be difficult since her lifestyle is built on another person’s wealth and not her own business success.

” I know what it is like to have to live off someone else’s money so I understand the needs of welfare recepients” type problem.

Just how many rich husband’s wives are in the Senate and House? Quite a few….

Paul in reply to alaskabob. | June 13, 2018 at 11:33 am

        Nancy Pelosi comes to mind.

YellowGrifterInChief in reply to alaskabob. | June 13, 2018 at 3:20 pm

Trump’s wealth is built on another person’s – his father.

Maybe Trump maintains the absolute fiction that he is self-made because he almost blew all the money he received in casino development. That’s not the same as earning it.

There are those who think he might be richer if he had simply taken his daddy’s money and put it an index fund.

Have you considered seeking therapy for your TDS? I hear there are some excellent conversion therapies available outside of California. If that doesn’t work you might consider electroshock or a frontal lobotomy.

Can you name one person who from birth on who was solely on their own without any help? He did a pretty good job at using that early nest egg. Jealousy or just a smidge of envy there Grif? Gates was underwritten to Harvard and I don’t see complaints on his not finishing college?

For once the Yellow fellow is actually telling the truth and making a valid point. Trump’s entire career does not seem to have made him any richer than he’d be if he’d just invested his inheritance and spent his life being a rich layabout. So what was the point of all his work?

Arminius in reply to Milhouse. | June 13, 2018 at 11:44 am

That’s how it works in the third world. It’s never the politician. It’s always the spouse that launders the money.

YellowGrifterInChief in reply to Arminius. | June 13, 2018 at 3:22 pm

Trump laundered money for people people he was in bed with.

Is there any evidence for this? Or is it just a random accusation, on the theory that he’s dishonest enough that anything one says about him is likely to be believed?

Milhouse in reply to Arminius. | June 14, 2018 at 10:41 am

This is true; the Clintons being exhibit #1. But is there any indication of that here? McCaskill’s husband was rich before he ever met her, wasn’t he?

So what is the story? The plane made the trip, the RV made the trip, did McCaskill make the trip? Did the plane haul the RV? Did the RV haul the plane? Did the plane haul McCaskill? Did the RV haul McCaskill? Did both the plane and the RV haul McCaskill?

Do her constituents all ride around the state all day long in an RV? Did McCaskill ride the RV all day long and then use the plane to fly home at night? What would her constituents do?

Inquiring minds would like to know…

“Wait… you mean to tell me that not everyone has a flying RV…?”

-Claire McCaskill

” . . . but I was on the RV so much that the broken drawer drove me crazy”

I don’t understand what this really means, but any self-respecting “average” American travels with duct tape!

OleDirtyBarrister | June 13, 2018 at 11:40 am

There are more points to weave together with respect to Fat Claire and turboprops, this is not the first time she has made news because of aircraft. They bought an airplane an took delivery in Delaware in the name of Del. LLC, likely because there is no sales tax on aircraft when delivery is in DE. She parked the plane in MO, and did not file personal property returns and pay taxes on it until she got caught. Paying taxes is for people other than sage liberals that know more than everyone else and are entitled to tell others what to do and how to live.

So Claire publicly stated that they were selling the “damn plane”. It appears that they sold it to upgrade with a newer one in 2013.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claire_McCaskill

Claire and her staff also took a bunch of rides on their plane and used public funds to pay the expense. She purportedly wrote a check for $88,000 to the Treasury to reimburse the expense. That was after the filing of an ethics complaint, of course.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

I’m thinking she was only on the RV to ride into the scheduled stops from the airport and use the facilities. Can’t have her using public restrooms ‘like normal’people’.

buckeyeminuteman | June 13, 2018 at 12:40 pm

Reminds me a Hillary’s Misery Machine.

Why did you delete my comment?

Right out of the Hillary playbook.

Greyhound-sized RV and a turboprop, traveling the same route.

She must be looking to rival Al Gore’s carbon footprint.

Maybe it was her team who suggested that she take the plane. I bet they have a much better time on the bus.

https://flightaware.com/resources/registration/N5346M

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N5346M/history

And I thought only coaches hid their plane info so no one would know who they were recruiting.

McCaskill is loathsome. I’ve kept an eye on her since she won her Senate seat through dirty tricks (and a gullible GOP candidate Akin).
And I’m not even a citizen of MO.
