Why don’t they tell us how they really feel.

Today is the fourth Friday in an ongoing series of clashes at the Gaza-Israel border fence.

In prior coverage we’ve noted how the civilian protests served as cover for attempts to breach and plant explosives at the border fence. These were military terror operations using civilian protests as cover.

On April 6, huge tire fires were set to create a smokescreen for the terror efforts.

The claim that Israel indiscriminately shot people or shot peaceful protesters is belied by the fact that the vast majority of Gazans killed at the border were military members of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other terror groups.

One of the most enduring images of the border clashes was the planting of a swastika flag next to Palestinian flags near the border:

Once again today, tires were burned to create a smokescreen:

But this time the “protesters” have come up with a new tactic — flying kites with flaming molotov cocktails and other incendiary attachments over the border fence.

AFP Reports:

Palestinians protesting along the Gaza border have begun attaching Molotov cocktails to kites to fly over the fence into Israel in a new tactic as demonstrations enter their fourth week.

For protests set for Friday, Gazans were hoping to send dozens of kites over the fence, including some carrying notes telling Israelis “there is no place for you in Palestine.”

On the eve of Friday’s protests, a group of young people worked with coloured paper and empty coke bottles under a tree in an olive orchard hundreds of metres from the Israeli border east of Gaza City.

Some carefully created 60-centimetre-long kites in the colours of the Palestinian flag. When completed, a metal wire was attached at the bottom linked to a liquid-filled bottle.

As AFP watched, three young men carried one kite dozens of metres towards the border before stopping to set the bottle alight.

With the flame lit, they sent it into the air and cut the thread — watching as it floated over the border and crashed, causing a small fire.

Hamas’s al-Qassam brigade tweeted this image:

True to form, once again a swastika was used.

Jonathan Conricus, IDF spokesman, tweeted imaged of a kite with a swastika on it on the ground, and in flight with a molotov cocktail attached:

And yet if an Israeli sniper should happen to fire on one of these arsonists he will be court-martialed. Let alone if, God forbid, any soldiers should cheer at a well-placed shot, as every other army in the world does.

This late day “blame-them” is becoming very tiresome. Bibi policies are destructive to Israel in the long term, and very uncomfortable in the short-term. Can we not admit please that the blame lies on both sides, and a solution requires that both sides accept that, and are prepared to make concessions. Otherwise we continue in this death spiral for the interminable future. We kill them, they kill us, in whatever the disproportionate numbers are, which shouldn’t give anyone comfort. The one-side-good the-other-side-bad is a failure of imagination, intergrity and foresight.

Your attempts at moral relativism and equivalency are as fallacious as they are foolish and myopic.

Only one side in this conflict is carrying out the allegedly Divine dictates and tenets of an ideology steeped in intrinsic supremacism, totalitarianism, belligerence and sundry commands to kill or to subjugate the “unbeliever.”

Once one acknowledges that Islamic supremacism and its attendant pathologies ground all “Palestinian” behavior and conduct vis-a-vis Israel and Jews, this conflict becomes quite simple to understand. There is no nuance, here, and, your “both sides are guilty” rhetoric evinces contemptible theological and historical ignorance.

Until I read your last paragraph, I thought you were writing about Israeli Settlements. The settlers believe that god gave the land to them.

The issue isn’t moral relativism (not that this site doesn’t often engage in that), but moral equivalence.

He did, but how is that relevant? What exactly is it that Jews who choose to live in their homeland are doing wrong, and how does their religious belief play into that? Whom are they hurting by building homes on their own property, or on unowned property? What difference does it make whether they’re religious (as most of them are) or secular (as a good many of them are)? All they’re doing is building homes where they have every moral right to do so, and defending themselves when attacked. If nobody attacked them there would be no conflict, and they’d be delighted to be friends with their Arab neighbors. Indeed most of them have gone out of their way to try to make friends with their neighbors, but often this comes back to bite them when someone who acted like a friend suddenly shows his real colors and stabs someone.

The majority of “settlers” are secular. Religion has nothing to do with where they live.

I suppose it depends on how you define “settlers”. My impression (perhaps mistaken) was that the Israeli population outside the legal boundaries of the state (i.e. not including any part of Jerusalem) is about 70% religious and 30% secular. But I don’t really know.

The poster learned moral equivalency at the feet of the cult master.

They are flashing Nazi signs and you find fault with both sides?

Milhouse in reply to RasMoyag. | April 20, 2018 at 6:45 pm

No, blame does not lie on both sides. The one-side-good the-other-side-bad is the simple truth. The Israeli side has for the past century never done anything to provoke the arab side, and has gone to insane and suicidal lengths to try to make peace. and for the past century the arab side has consistently shown nothing but aggression and blood-thirst that would never be tolerated in any other context.

Palestinians are just lucky the enemy they are facing aren’t the Russians. Otherwise the Palestinians might get some of that Chechnyan justice the russkies have been delivering without a care in the world (and most certainly without an Human Rights NGO in sight!).

Israel pulled out of Gaza. No settlements, no Jews at all. No blockade at the border. The Israelis even left working Greenhouses. Billions in international aid. So what happened? These wonderful people used their new found independence to launch missiles and stage terror raids against Israel.
Gaza’s problems are the fault of the people there. They chose their government of terrorists.

If they think this will endear them to Israelis and Jews, they have another guess coming.

YellowGrifterInChief in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | April 20, 2018 at 2:52 pm

    Obviously, they are not.

Just curious – when tea party members put Hitler mustaches on Obama posters, were they trying to endear themselves to Obama or liberals?

I don’t recall any Tea Party members using such a symbol. Do you have any pictures of such accusation that you could produce? Or are you just creating more fake nonsense?

False analogy. To put a Hitler moustache on an 0bama poster is to accuse him of being comparable to Hitler. That accusation can be either true or false, but either way it’s a condemnation of Hitler. The arabs are not condemning Hitler or accusing the Jews of being like him, they’re championing him, admiring him, holding him up as their hero, as indeed he has always been ever since they allied themselves with him. Ever since he failed to wipe the Jews out they have single-mindedly pursued their goal of finishing the job he started.

Natalie Portman lobbed a molotov of her own at Israel, saying she would not travel to Israel to accept her 2018 Genesis award because of her distress from recent events.

I like the Public Security Minister’s response. Erdan invited her for a tour of the Gaza border, so she could see for herself the violent rioting by thousands of Palestinian Arabs

Can you be any more ridiculous?

Tea Party members were not bent on genocide or proclaiming to be Nazis.

That you rationalize the behavior of actual present day Nazis is telling. Thank you for showing what you’re about.

Hey look, the Sand Nazis are at it again!

Btw, if we are talking moral relavitism, do the Israelis have math questions or poems in their text books that glorify the murder of innocent Muslims? How about tv shows aimed at toddlers that call for violence against all Muslim people’s? Must be it’s acceptable to be a Nazi as long as you have dark skin.

I believe the Israeli air force will defeat this new Hamas air force.

The “international community” will never allow Israel to defeat Hamas and the rest of the terrorist groups. Which is why this conflict will never end.

There is no diplomatic solution. The only solution is the complete destruction and overhaul of palestinian society, the same way the Nazis were defeated.

Milhouse in reply to mrzee. | April 22, 2018 at 9:03 am

The problem isn’t the “international community”, it’s the Israeli legal establishment (which includes the IDF’s JAG corps) which aspires to represent what it considers “enlightened values”, values that it naïvely imagines the “international community” to hold.

Think of how much more prosperous and happy the Palestinian people would be if they would simply choose peace and cooperation with Israel. Their current approach of national suicide to prove a false point simply is no way the generate progress for their people.

FYI

“….the greatest threat to Jews, not only here but also abroad, comes not from zombie fascist retreads, but from the Left, which is increasingly making its peace with anti-Semitism.

This shift was first made clear to me about 15 years ago when, along with my wife Mandy, whose mother is a Holocaust survivor from France, I visited the legendary Nazi-hunters Serge and Beate Klarsfeld. They predicted that the primary threat to Jews in Europe increasingly would come not from the centuries-old French Right, some of whom had supported the Nazis, but from the Left, in alliance with a growing Muslim population…..”

https://www.city-journal.org/html/delusions-justice-15855.html

How great would it be if Israel repaid the favor? Just send a few helium balloons over Gaza with mortor’s attached…and after the balloons pop, the mortor’s explode. BOOM!

When would the off-shore winds blow, dusk and dawn? LOL Give the Muslim whiners something to really whine about!

Milhouse in reply to C. Lashown. | April 22, 2018 at 2:18 am

It would be great until whoever did that, and whoever ordered it, was arrested and convicted and sent to prison. Then it wouldn’t be so great. Israel’s biggest enemy is its own legal establishment.
