Hillary Associates Hate Comey Just as Much as Trump and His Allies

“Admitting that he let political optics creep into his head was one of his more damning acknowledgments in the interview.”

Former FBI Director James Comey managed to do the impossible. He forged common ground between President Trump and members of failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s world.

Hillary’s associates have spoken out against Comey after reading parts of his book and watching his interviews. They’ve said he’s no hero and feel disgusted that he admitted he allowed politics to drive his decisions.

During Comey’s interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopolous, he admitted that politics played a part in his decision to announce the FBI reopened the investigation into Hillary’s email server about a week before the election.

Comey told Stephanopoulos that the polls showed Hillary would win the election and he wanted to make the announcement because if he didn’t, “the public would later discover he had not revealed the new emails discovered on Anthony Weiner’s computer and it would hurt Clinton’s standing, as well as the FBI and the Department of Justice.” This would make her “an illegitimate president” according to him.

That did not sit well with those close to Hillary. From VICE:

“It was not his job to worry about a future President Clinton’s legitimacy. That is a purely political consideration that should never have come into play,” Clinton campaign Press Secretary Brian Fallon told VICE News. “His job was to go by the book and adhere by the Department guidelines and then let the political chips fall where they may.”

“Admitting that he let political optics creep into his head was one of his more damning acknowledgments in the interview,” he said. “I am not sure he even realizes how bad he sounds admitting that.”

Hillary and her minions still blame Comey’s letter for her loss. Comey rightfully reminded Hillary’s campaign that it wasn’t him who put emails on Weiner’s computer.

But still, Hillary’s camp thinks Comey is only looking out for himself:

“Many people believe Comey is a straight-shooter. but nothing in his interview explains or justifies his repeated violations of standard procedure,” Joel Benenson, Clinton’s chief strategist, told VICE News. “The man talks about the rule of law repeatedly in the interview, so his answer here is a complete crock.”

Some Clinton allies just wish Comey would admit he made a bad call.

“That Hillary’s standing in the polls had any sway or influence over his decision to reopen the investigation into her emails less than two weeks before Election Day (and well after early voting was underway) remains — to say the least — troubling,” Adrienne Elrod, the director of strategic communications for the Clinton campaign, told VICE News. “I wish he had admitted he was wrong in that he allowed this to be an influencing factor,” she added.

Asked what he wishes Comey would say, Benenson echoed Elrod: “I was wrong.”

Hillary’s spokesman Nick Merrill finds it gross that Comey is profiting off of these probes and bashed him for making a “public spectacle of the conclusion of the email investigation.” From Politico:

“He made a public spectacle of the conclusion of the email investigation, breaking with Department norms, calling into question the integrity of the process,” Merrill wrote. “It did nothing to quiet the Trump campaign from accusing the FBI of bias & did everything to make Americans feel uneasy.”

Asked about the decision during his interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, which aired Sunday night, Comey acknowledged he likely considered whether withholding information about the Clinton email probe would affect her if she were elected.

“I don’t remember consciously thinking about that, but it must have been,” Comey said. “I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump. I’m sure that it was a factor.”

Merrill cried foul on Monday for what he presented as a double standard for Comey and Clinton, who has been vocal in the past about her displeasure with Comey.

“Profiting indeed. 850,000 copies of his book have been printed and will likely sell, with scores of paid speeches on leadership that will accompany that,” Merrill tweeted. “But yes, Hillary Clinton is the one that should go away.”

Hillary’s communications director Jennifer Palmieri and campaign chief John Podesta also lashed out at Comey:

“What amazes me … is that he decided to send the letter to the Hill because of a political consideration, and that political consideration was he put it upon himself to be worried about whether or not the next president of the United States was going to be considered legitimate,” Jennifer Palmieri, Clinton’s communications director in 2016, told CNN on Sunday.

Palmieri said Comey acted “very clearly outside of the bounds of how the FBI is supposed to operate,” despite saying he was “always trying to act within the bounds of how the FBI is supposed to operate.”

John Podesta, Clinton’s former campaign chairman, called Comey’s letter to lawmakers “one of the worst errors of judgment in post-Hoover FBI history.” Podesta spoke Friday after excerpts of Comey’s book became public.

The Hill quoted a few others from Hillary’s camp:

“Of course they’re upset,” said Patti Solis Doyle, who served as Clinton’s campaign manager during her 2008 presidential bid. “How could you not be if you worked on that campaign?”

“I think he displayed unreliably poor judgment in the Clinton investigation by bucking [Department of Justice] procedures and having a press conference when there were no charges brought, and I think he has displayed incredibly poor judgment in the timing of this book before the end of the [Robert] Mueller investigation,” she added.

“Nobody is satisfied with anything he’s been saying,” said one longtime Clinton adviser. “We thought that Comey was always a factor in her loss, but now nobody can deny that perceptions were changed because of it.”

“I’ve made peace with it, but it’s still a punch in the gut,” the adviser said.

Hilarious. They wish he’d kept his mouth shut about the serial lawbreaker who was running for president, no matter how serious her crimes and security violations, because she didn’t turn out to be the lock that they and Comey expected.

According to Joe diGenova’s comments, Comey must be a serial blackmailer. Did I understand Joe’s comments the right way?

        Maybe he meant “cereal” …

        FYI

Anyone seen any more about this?

“FEDS DROP BOMBSHELL: Comey & Lynch Colluded with Clinton Campaign to Entrap, Wiretap Trump; Illegal Scheme Involved Entire U.S. Intel Community”

“Loretta Lynch’s Justice Department and James Comey’s FBI worked together with the Hillary Clinton campaign to entrap Donald Trump and associates — including his eldest son — prior to the 2016 presidential election, according to records and testimony of federal law enforcement insiders.

One high ranking official in the Justice Department called it a sweeping “highly illegal” scheme to ensure Hillary Clinton’s election to the White House.

“This was clearly a scheme using Justice (Department) resources and State (Department) resources to get the Russian lawyer into the United States,” one Justice Department insider said. “Who has the power to do this? Only the people at the very top.”

Lynch. Comey. Andrew McCabe. Preet Bhahara. Sally Yates.

And according to high ranking FBI sources, the Bureau played a definitive role in plotting this sweeping privacy breach. But the FBI had much help from the NSA, CIA, the Office of of the Director of National Intelligence, Treasury financial crimes division under DHS, and the Justice Department, federal law enforcement sources confirmed.

John Brennan. James Clapper. Jeh Johnson.

That places the Barack Obama administration directly into this illegal soup, led by Lynch, Yates, Comey and the FBI’s McCabe and associates.

In fact, Hillary Clinton along with the DNC bankrolled Fusion GPS to set up Donald Trump Jr. in the large scheme to undercut his father’s path to the presidency, sources said.

The Russian lawyer who set up Donald Trump Jr. — Natalia Veselnitskaya — was paid by Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS was paid by Hillary Clinton and the DNC.

Veselnitskaya and Fusion GPS worked together on another caper in 2014, two years before the Trump Jr. operation. In Russia.
        ….”

yea, your are late by about 4 hrs. I posted it.

Also, I recommend that you do not post whole story, just the links and at most a paragraph with links inserted. It could become a copyright issue for LI and we don’t want them to have problems.

Comey is a good example of how scum floats to the top. He also shares Hillary’s sore loser mentality, blaming everyone for his self inflicted and stunning career implosion.

casualobserver | April 17, 2018 at 1:28 pm

Sure seems like this entire effort by Comey has only one audience – the media. The are LUUUUUVING it. Click bait heaven.

The entire rest of the political class (hint: I’m implying the media is a part of the political class) and anyone who has ever had any association or reverence for law enforcement are very much turned off and/or opposed to Comey’s acts. Many clearly are seething.

Little do they know that the reason Trump won was had zero to do with Comey. Blame game and self importance abound.

    oldgoat36 in reply to MarkSmith. | April 17, 2018 at 2:49 pm

Exactly. So many people knew Hillary was a crook, it didn’t take Comey to lay out that she was, it only showed that she apparently is above the law. Just as Bill was above the law.

Add to that her out of touch talk, her very questionable health issues, her collapsing on the way into her SUV, her acting stupid with the wipe – what with a cloth comment, her wooden actions, her stances on things, the Clinton Foundation crimes and theft used as a money laundering service for the Clintons… the list goes on and on. Those who voted for her were those who are locked in group think. Who also nothing wrong with rigging the primaries for her. Who saw nothing wrong with her attempt to rig the National election either.

Not to mention bigoted misogynists who ordered their wives to vote for Trump… lol.

Hillary has tried just about every possible reason why she lost, expect the most likely … she is a criminal, who was begifted a pardon by the partisans at DOJ.

The D’rats aren’t peeved that Comey perverted American law enforcement for political reasons. They’re peeved because they blame that for the Queen’s defeat, which they otherwise find inexplicable. But at least they’re becoming more comfortable with the idea that if the President hadn’t fired incompetent rat bastard Comey, then somebody else would have had to do it. So much for “obstruction of justice” fantasies.

As for why an incompetent rat bastard would think he has anything to do with “legitimacy”, well … that’s just bizarre. Only the Electoral College confers “legitimacy”, unless it’s a weird election like 1800 (Electoral tie) or 1876 (quorum problems, basically), or a succession crisis such as Harrison/Tyler (which had nothing to do with the E.C.).

    Touche – so Right!

RE: “They’re peeved because they blame that for the Queen’s defeat, which they otherwise find inexplicable.”

This is what has been so tragic about Comey’s tenure at the FBI. We finally see that the FBI is so steeped in partisanship that its very bowels are laid bare and they reek of corruption. It sickens me. We should believe in our nation’s top law enforcement agency, but who can do so after all of this? Not Democrats, apparently, and certainly not many on the right. The FBI’s reputation and standing with the American people have been jeopardized, and it will take a strong, nonpartisan director to bring it back. Right now, the FBI just makes me sad.

oldgoat36 in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | April 17, 2018 at 2:58 pm

The taint on the FBI will be nearly impossible to remove for a generation. The only way to move beyond it is bringing those who did nefarious deeds for political reasons up on charges and those at the top need to be convicted.

You don’t clean house with dirty cops by sweeping it aside. And seeing how Mueller and the FBI have been using horrendous actions against Trump, many of us believe the rot is still in charge. Mueller shouldn’t get a pass either. When NYC cops were outed as being on the take nearly universally, it took a lot of arrests to start to bring trust back. The same is required with the FBI. If none are charged and none are punished (and not just a token fall guy), it will be difficult if not impossible to show that they are coming clean.

        Olinser in reply to oldgoat36. | April 17, 2018 at 3:24 pm

Just like the VA, they’re not going to do anything meaningful.

The IG report has been out for a week, clearly laying out how McCabe is explicitly guilty of perjury at a minimum – and remember Wray viewed this report over a MONTH ago.

Where is the indictment? Nowhere. They could BARELY bring themselves to fire McCabe at the last minute – remember after Wray read the report he was content to just let McCabe retire.

Just like the VA – I’ll believe they’re interested in STARTING to clean it up when the first person gets put in jail.

It is not that Comey is corrupt that bothers the Democrats, it is he bungled his one job: absolve Hillary in the most flattering manner.

If Comey was the straight arrow that he fancies himself to be, Clinton would have been indicted for her intentional, serial security violations, and her presidential aspirations dashed upon the rocks of her corruption apparatus. The Wiener faptop would have been a footnote in the larger scandal.

alaskabob in reply to Immolate. | April 17, 2018 at 2:30 pm

Early on it should have been obvious that Hillary was bad news yet the FBI could have done both the Nation (and the Dems) a favor by making it better for the Dems to field a candidate less (?) tainted. The upper FBI was in the bag for Hillary so much that they couldn’t see this.

    There is Establishment and Uber-Establishment.

      Makes one wonder………

Makes one wonder how many other felonious acts, and treasonous acts of the Clintons that the F.I.B. Department has covered up for them in the past 25 years (since 1993)…….

Hope this is rights!

I still believe the reason most of the Dems/Progs are so upset is they cannot believe the smartest woman in the world lost a rigged election to Donald Trump.

When I was in grad school, I had a Department of Energy “Q” level clearance. If I had done what Hillary did, the least that would have happened to me would have been loss of the clearance. Jail would have been a possibility.

Comey’s book has revealed him to be what his critics were saying all along – a slimy little political weasel that never deserved to be anywhere close to the position of Director.

After this slimeball, every future Republican that follows a Democrat should take it as a given that the FBI director should be fired and replaced on day 1 of his administration. After Comey they no longer deserve the benefit of the doubt that they are not political weasels.

We could always generate revenue by offering instruction and guidance to third world banana republic leaders. La cu-ca-ra-cha!

The fact that the JournOlists and the usual suspects are suddenly blasting at Comey with both barrels, and are all singing the exact same soundbites tells me that Comey gave up something in his book tour that endangers Clinton or Obama.

They were somewhat over the fact that he wasn’t helpful to Hillary before the election. And in fact, they were telling Clinton it was time to go away. He said something very damaging and now he needs to be destroyed.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital | April 17, 2018 at 6:06 pm

“endangers Clinton” AND “Obama” methinks.

They’re all going down!!!!!!

This “legitimacy” stuff is inexplicable. It certainly sounds like an excuse. But for what?

Even on Planet Comey, the Queen’s legitimacy is only a concern after she’s elected. So, the first job is to help get her elected.

I don’t think Comey believed that Hillary was inevitable at all. Her inevitablility would be seriously jeopardized by a criminal indictment. So Comey’s job as a good swamp denizen was to see that an indictment didn’t happen. The looming disaster of Hillary’s Great e-Mail Adventure had to be quashed.

So Heroic Straight Shooter Comey investigates, then pronounces her too stupid to prosecute; job done, Dem crash & burn avoided.

But when more material surfaced—the stuff that Huma had “no idea” how it got on criminal Hubby’s computer—Comey had to do the same service over again. The danger wasn’t any threat to her “legitimacy”, it was to her inevitablity, just as before. So he did a rush job, pretended to look at the new material, then pronounced Hillary still unprosecutable.

That should have been enough; after that, she could go on to demonstrate just how inevitable she was. If it had worked, Comey could claim credit for saving the Queen from indictment, thereby ensuring her inevitability, and ultimately getting in good with the new boss and protecting his job. And the swamp ooze seeping out of Comey’s shoes would never be a cause for comment, let alone a well-deserved firing.

So … I think the concern about the Queen’s “legitimacy” is a coverup for Comey’s actions, which were in turn inspired by his fear that her victory was not, in fact, inevitable. The story he’s trying to present is the opposite—that her win was inevitable, and good guy Comey just wanted to make her look better.

But as everybody on the planet must realize by now, he’s a lying skunk.

Going deep:

Comey was forced to reopen Hillary’s email scandal case by the NYPD who was investigating Weinergate and the sexting scandal.*

Weiner’s 650,000 emails contained more than just information pertaining to the inappropriate sexting this guy was doing. They found State Department emails. They found a lot of other really damning criminal information, including money laundering, including the fact that Hillary went to this sex island with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Bill Clinton went there more than 30 times. Hillary went there at least six times.*

* Source: http://www.commonsenseevaluation.com/2018/04/16/lynch-threatened-to-re-open-investigation-of-nypd-over-eric-garners-death-if-they-leaked-info-on-weiners-laptop/

The Epstein matter is quite troubling for both Trump and Clinton. Clinton seems to have more to cover up than Trump. Epstein played in the rich circles, so no surprise here.

Sounds like Trump was friends with Epstein and Epstein but really did not socialize with him. Sounds like Clinton’s socialized with Epstein to get stuff from him. What that stuff is is open to speculation. 30 times on his jet does not sound like a casual relationship verses meeting him for dinner.

If we want to do guilty by association, lets start with Weinstein.
