Harvard Law Grad Claims Armed Teachers Would Shoot Black Students

“directly result in students of color being shot to death at school”

What an absurd suggestion. Is he saying all teachers who would carry a gun must be racists?

The Daily Caller reports:

Harvard Law Grad: Armed Teachers Would Shoot Black Students

A Harvard law grad argued Thursday that armed teachers would shoot black students.

Elie Mystal, who graduated and practiced law with a Harvard University law degree, made the case for why armed teachers would shoot black students, reported The College Fix. He published the argument on Above the Law, a law blog he edits.

Mystal argued that arming teachers would be pricey, not dissuade potential shooters, and “directly result in students of color being shot to death at school.”

“I know that because the only other group of public employees that is armed at the behest of the state shoots unarmed people of color on the reg,” said the former lawyer. “The cops actually receive extensive training on how to use their firearms, how to asses threats, and how to deescalate situations, and yet they still murder innocent civilians all the time.”

Mystal suggested that granting teachers guns would increase their anxiety.

Apparently this dufus believes guns are cursed objects that possess their wielders and magically force them to change alignment and kill innocents.

Why not believe it? Libs already believe so many other not-so-true things about guns what’s one more thing, even if it’s a bit D&Di-ish?

Mystal sees this as a function of racism, which is absurd. But every day somewhere in the public school system, students, disproportionately black, assault their teachers with sufficient violence that were it to happen on the street it would easily justify self defense. That’s not a criticism, but we should be prepared for more black students shot for their thuggery than thwarted mass murders.

I guess this mental midget is unaware that there are actually hundreds of schools around the country that already have armed staff and have been a great success, some for as long as 15 years.

This guy is a racist. He is assuming that if the teachers shoot a criminal that person is likely to be black.

No, he’s assuming the black people police shoot are not criminals, and the police are shooting them because “institutional racism”, whatever that means, so it’s likely that if teachers were armed they’d do the same.

Is there any claim that these race baiters will not make? Is there any claim that is too absurd for them to push as a legitimate concern? Is there anything these people can say that will finally discredit them among the public or is the public going to take these bizarre ravings seriously every time they are uttered? The problem is not with this flaming twit, rather it lies with the public that gives him credibility and a platform on which to speak.

Until this article I did not consider this notion. After considering it my concern is thug students beating up a teacher and taking the gun. In suburban schools if a student attacked a teacher students would come to the teachers aid. As we have seen over and over in the inner city schools the students only video it. I am not sure how to prevent that from happening.

You don’t have to prevent it because it doesn’t happen and as far as I can find hasn’t happened in the 15 years we have had armed teachers in some schools.

There are actually a couple of hundred schools that have armed staff or security.

Also, you prevent stuff like that by not letting the thugs know who is armed and who is not. That’s the whole point of “concealed”.

According to multiple sources Elie Mystal was formerly a litigator at Debevoise & Plimpton but quit the legal profession to pursue a career as an online provocateur. Since he is black, would I be out of line to suggest he is a race-baiter?
