Sen. Sasse “Accidentally” Dumps Dr Pepper on Sen. Cruz During Sessions Hearing

Sen. Cruz responds

During a somewhat important Senate hearing Wednesday, Sen. Ben Sasse apologized for creating a raucous. Sasse claimed he “accidentally” dumped a Dr Pepper on Sen. Ted Cruz.

To which Sen. Cruz responded:

That’s just cold. But considering a good Dr Pepper was wasted, the tough love is warranted.

Being cut off is probably not as bad as this:

I don’t get it.

Wasn’t Kemberlee a stalwart supporter of the natural-born Canadian (or Cuban) a little more than a year ago?

Actually, I remember hot Dr Pepper, and it wasn’t half bad…

Thanks for not putting a period after “Dr” in this story.

I actually drank one of Sen. Cruz’s Dr. Pepper’s one time. I was in the Senate office building last December (can’t remember which one it was) and saw it as my chance to get to meet him. I knocked on his office door and a staffer answered. Sadly, he had already gone home on Christmas vacation, but the young man offered me a Dr. Pepper. I choose Cherry. Should have stuck with the original, but it was still pretty cool!
