“how to take productive action in support of social justice initiatives”

This is straight up left wing indoctrination masquerading as education.

Community college creates ‘social justice retreat’ for high school students

Michigan’s Kellogg Community College’s Center for Diversity and Innovation will host an overnight retreat called “Lit for Social Justice” for high school students who are interested in social justice issues. The retreat is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

“Retreat activities will include workshops, breakout sessions and team-building activities focused on topics including social segregation, power and privilege, identity, resistance and more,” the college’s website said.

Students will watch a screening of “The Hunger Games” on Sunday night, and “critically examine social justice themes in our own society and learn how to take productive action in support of social justice initiatives.”

Retreat participants will also be able to participate in outdoor activities, like canoeing, basketball, swimming, a campfire and other events related to the solar eclipse.

The retreat is open to all high school students (ninth through 12 grades) and costs $40 per child. Registration includes meals, accommodations and a T-shirt. If a student wishes to attend but cannot afford the registration, scholarships are available.
