Kathy Griffin’s Pity Party of a Press Conference

Kathy Griffin’s Pity Party of a Press Conference

“I’ve dealt with old, white guys trying to keep me down my whole life, my whole career”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4dWdurX2Wk

“I’m not afraid of Donald Trump. He’s a bully. I’ve dealt with old, white guys trying to keep me down my whole life, my whole career,” began Griffith, during her pity party Friday afternoon.

Griffith was fired from CNN after she posed with a bloody, decapitated likeness of President Trump’s head.

She released a short video, apologizing for “crossing the line”, and apology she reiterated during the press conference.

“A sitting president of the United States, and his grown children, and the first lady are personally — I feel, trying to ruin my life forever,” said Griffin who lamented being under investigation by the Secret Service.

Gloria Allred, Griffin’s attorney, said the actions (presumably the Secret Service investigation) were “unpresidential” and that no other first family has taken issue with humor attacking a sitting president.

No one made Griffin pose in an ISIS-like image with a bloody, Trump head. None of what followed happened to Griffin, a poor, innocent victim of circumstance. Everything Griffin is experiencing is a natural consequence of her poor decision. A lesson she clearly hasn’t learned.

Well I’m guessing her knees bent lower years ago.

The blog indulging a neurotic, racist, sexist media whore narcissist with a headline story about nothing, other than the media whore’s manipulated grievance to get the media whore attention?

If we wanted to watch a neurotic, racist, sexist media whore narcissist, we’d simply keep tuning into coverage of hillary clinton’s Loser Tour.

BTW, when is clinton being indicted?

Has anyone told her that the Secret Service is considering charging her? How does she expect this will influence their decision of whether to prosecute? Of course, she has already laid the foundation to plead insanity should the trial start trending badly.

Victim? Ten years in prison should cure what ails her. Crazy, crazy crazy.

“unpresidential” ???????

Allred, what the hell is “unpresidential” about OBJECTING to being shown a severed head likeness of our President on worldwide TV? I cannot fathom your ignorant, cold hearted, money grubbing defense of this idiot perpetrator.

gospace in reply to joepeh. | June 2, 2017 at 4:51 pm

Not to mention that if tried in a socialist paradise much admired by Democrats such as Cuba leads to death after a show trial. Maybe even without the trial.

You’re talking about the worst lawyer in America.

If the likes of the GOPe weren’t so spineless, and the media not so corrupt to make allred one of their many organ grinder monkeys, you’d never heard of this idiot.

I know there’s a rule of thumb that if you have to explain the joke, it wasn’t a very good joke. With that in mind… could someone explain the joke behind holding up a likeness of someone’s severed head? Let alone what is funny about holding up the severed head of POTUS?

This well planned photo shoot was for images to be widely disseminated across the nation, and world……

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital. | June 2, 2017 at 4:41 pm

In other words, Griffin, her Democrat Party and MSM co-colluders never thought of this, nor intended this to be a joke.

They are trying to invoke violence, just as Hillary and Obama are trying to do also.

rdmdawg in reply to Semper Why. | June 2, 2017 at 5:53 pm

Liberals get a vicarious thrill from assassination porn. Don’t ask me to explain why, I cannot, but they loved this stuff all through the Bush years.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to rdmdawg. | June 2, 2017 at 6:35 pm

Psychologists who have studied this have discovered people doing that get into a “psychic flow” – “psychic income” is how I would express it.

Remember how Hillary’s mentor, Alinsky, recommended that leftist activists use things that their followers found enjoyable?

Then the truly psycho ones just do it because that’s how they get their “jollies.”

David Breznick | June 2, 2017 at 2:56 pm

With all her patrons and sponsors running away, Ms. Griffin will soon have insufficient means to pay for Ms. Allred’s representation, at which point Ms. Allred will herself run away.

Wow….she hired a high profile lawyer…and this is what they came up with???

This phony baloney excuse???

The neurotic, racist, sexist media whore narcissist seeking attention probably hired an attorney who is her mirror image.

All this was a the neurotic, racist, sexist media whore narcissist’s plan to keep herself in the headlines.

Hopefully, she’s indicted for a federal crime. Time to make an example of the likes of her, the photographer and corrupt media outlet that funded and enabled it all.

      Milhouse in reply to TheFineReport.com. | June 2, 2017 at 3:28 pm

Hopefully, she’s indicted for a federal crime.

What crime? It’s not a crime to wish for the president’s violent death. The first amendment protects ones right to express such a wish, just as it protects other people’s right to object to it.

No one prevented her from exercising her 1st amendment rights. But she should have kept in mind that other people have rights too, such as the right to take offense at your offensive behavior and the right to protect one’s business interests from the backlash of so many people taking offense. Welcome to the world of consequences.

Hopefully, she gets to plead her case in front of a jury as to why she shouldn’t go to prison for encouraging the assassination of the POTUS. She was just trying to be funny.

She certainly didn’t help herself today by making it clear her ill will for the POTUS and his family, even his children, has only intensified after her “apology”. No one is begrudging her the right to self-incrimination. She should instead exercise her right to remain silent.

Milhouse in reply to Pasadena Phil. | June 2, 2017 at 7:27 pm

Um, that’s what I said. But you explicitly do want to prevent her from exercising her 1st amendment rights.

Hopefully, she gets to plead her case in front of a jury as to why she shouldn’t go to prison for encouraging the assassination of the POTUS.

That would be a blatant violation of her 1st amendment rights. Charging her, putting her in legal jeopardy, let alone letting it go to a jury, would have a chilling effect on others who might wish to express a similar opinion. Any prosecutor who would bring such a case ought to be charged himself under §1983.

he certainly didn’t help herself today by making it clear her ill will for the POTUS and his family, even his children, has only intensified after her “apology”.

Indeed. But she’s entitled to that ill will, just as others are entitled to denounce it. It is intolerable for such an expression to lead to legal consequences; business and social consequences are a completely different matter.

DaveGinOly in reply to Pasadena Phil. | June 3, 2017 at 1:18 am

Milhouse’s last reply ran out the meter, so I’m replying here.

Milhouse – What about incitement to riot? There are situations in which incitement to commit a felony is considered a crime, not joke. Is it OK for an imam to tell his congregation to go forth and kill Jews?

tom swift in reply to Pasadena Phil. | June 3, 2017 at 4:43 am

          What about incitement to riot?

But there’s no riot here, and no realistic prospects of one developing.

There’s no way to even claim that she might inspire “copycats”; even if she did, what nefarious crimes would these copycats commit? Give us more stupid photos of liberals holding fake heads, and that’s about it. And that would be a crime against good taste, but not exactly a serious menace to law and order.

No, her crime is that she’s a jerk … and that’s not actually a crime.

Milhouse in reply to Pasadena Phil. | June 4, 2017 at 1:02 am

DaveGinOly, look up the definition of incitement. It basically means depriving people of free will and causing them to commit crimes without making a conscious decision to do so. No, it is not OK for an imam to tell his congregation to go forth and kill Jews, but depending on how he says it it may not be incitement. If he merely advocates it in a calm and reasoned way, so that they remain free to decide for themselves whether to act on his advice, then it is protected speech. But if he whips them up in a manner that is both calculated and likely to make them immediately act on it without significant delay, then it’s incitement.

      Well said and too true.

Next up for them to go after – the View, and the Talk!

I watched the video and she actually said a couple funny things, but I don’t think she really understands that holding a bloody head of the current president is not funny and will result in Secret Service investigation. They are required to do those checks – didn’t she watch “In the line of fire”? I mean, aren’t all things in movies real?? /s in case someone doesn’t realize that….

I bet that she does something outrageous in about a year to get her career going again.

Gloria Allred? Yeah – why is she all over anything that has to do with DJT?

So Trump responded with a tweet? As did some of his family members? So speech was responded to with speech?

What is the problem?

Griffin was a few months early with this. Give the MSM time to amp up the Trump Derangement Syndrome and this will be no big deal.

What in the name of Ru Paul is wrong with the New York City Board of Education? Parents are furious after children as young as 5-years-old were exposed to a man´s erotic drag show performance at what was supposed to be a school district talent show. “My first reaction was what the hell is going on,” parent Raquel Morales told me. The New York Daily News described the lewd performance as “complete with gyrations, tongue gymnastics and a flashed G-string.” The May 25th performance shocked and enraged parents who could not believe the school district would allow a grown man to spread his legs and display his crotch to wide-eyed children.

DaveGinOly in reply to Tom Servo. | June 3, 2017 at 1:21 am

Griffin, even in the opinion of some (but not all, not even most) of her fellow progressives, jumped the shark.

It can be done. Woody Allen recovered from marrying his own daughter. Roman Polanski recovered from raping a thirteen year old. Got a standing ovation.

Tom Servo in reply to Petrushka. | June 2, 2017 at 3:57 pm

The difference is that Allen truly had some real talent, and I suppose some could make the case that Polanski did (but I won’t)

Griffin has ALWAYS been a no-talent hack who’s only game was to play “look how outrageous I can be!!!” while catering to leftists by dishing out hatred and bile and pretending to laugh.

It’s really kind of amazing, it’s like everyone even on her political side just woke up and said “you know what? You’ve never been funny, and you’ve never had anything original to say. Ever.”

Mercyneal in reply to Petrushka. | June 2, 2017 at 8:23 pm

Polanski still isn’t allowed back in the US.

Kathy Griffin should sent to a laboratory somewhere so that science can research how someone that’s nearly sixty can be so immature. And what’s especially nuts is that 90% of her act is complaining about the dumb stuff other celebrities do, yet not even Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, or Lindsey Lohan on their worst drunken rampage would be idiotic enough to do something like this.

The only way she could sink any lower is if she started blaming the FBI, the DNC, and the Russians for her November election loss.

Oh boo f’n hoo, Kathy. If you’re sorry for anything, it’s that there were consequences for your actions. How about shutting up and taking some time to search what’s left of your soul to identify your part in this, and maybe taking some damned responsibility for your poor, hate-fueled judgment? Nah, didn’t think you would. You don’t have the depth for it.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | June 2, 2017 at 3:24 pm

When I saw the blog headline I had a comment in mind. I was going to say something like ‘she wanted to draw attention to herself by being edgy. The instant feedback she got made her realize she made a mistake. She apologized. And she removed the image. I’m tired of seeing mobs destroying someone for expressing ideas. Maybe she should be forgiven and we can move on.’

Then I watched the video. Portraying herself as a victim of white male oppression made me cringe. I am sick of the victimhood crap. She planned the stunt. It backfired. She apologized once. Now she’s inserting herself back into the controversy to shift blame to Trump and his family? Another stunt to gain favor with the Trump haters – some of whom condemned her for the photo.

I no longer feel compelled to forgive her. As far as I’m concerned she dug the hole deeper. Screw her.

At the end of her press conference she sang an emotional rendition of the song “I will survive” while being held aloft by a troop of old white male dancers….

    It was very moving…..

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to tgrondo. | June 2, 2017 at 4:53 pm

That made everyone “out” cringe with horror, and high-tail it to hide under the stairs, or in closets, or in the basement, etc…..

      No excusing Kathy Griffin…………

Fox and friends showed a behind the scenes video of her and Tyler Shields discussing the shoot, picking out images and commenting about the reaction. This was very, very deliberate for achieving maximum shock value. There was nothing spontaneous or haphazard. They were joking about having to move to Mexico. I say good riddance to her. They can have her.

Kathy Griffin: Donald Trump is messing with the ‘wrong redhead’
Jayme Deerwester , USA TODAY , WBI

Kathy Griffin and civil-rights lawyer Lisa Bloom came for Donald Trump Friday.

“I’m not afraid of Trump,” the 56-year-old comedian said. “He’s a bully. I’ve dealt with older white guys trying to keep me down my whole career.”

At a press conference, Griffin and Bloom addressed what they both view as a disproportionate response by the president and his family after she posed with a fake, severed Trump head for photographer Tyler Shields…

Bloom says Griffin is not in a fair fight and wouldn’t have been treated this way if she were a man. She noted that Marilyn Manson beheaded a Trump stand-in in a music video and never apologized like her client did.

“Unlike these male artists, Kathy has endured the most powerful man in America and his family using their power to target her and her employers after she apologized,” the attorney pointed out.

The biggest difference between Trump’s myriad other public quarrels and this one?

“He’s not just Donald Trump, real estate developer, having a celebrity feud,” Bloom said. “He’s using the power of the government.”

Griffin gradually regained her composure, proclaiming, “He wants to mess with me? He picked the wrong redhead!”

tarheelkate in reply to Chris Mac. | June 2, 2017 at 8:42 pm

Does she cite any evidence that the Trump family has called places where she was scheduled to perform and got them to cancel? CNN cancelled her quickly. I don’t believe Trump has much influence at CNN these days.

Liz in reply to Chris Mac. | June 3, 2017 at 12:49 am

I didn’t know about the Manson music video, but it was before the election. But, I’m sure more people are looking for it.

Griffin’s video is post election, with an obvious social media distribution planned and executed.

DaveGinOly in reply to Chris Mac. | June 3, 2017 at 1:33 am

“Bloom says Griffin is not in a fair fight and wouldn’t have been treated this way if she were a man.”

I noted this in a story on another newspaper’s site.

Does Griffin remember what happened to Mel Gibson after making some remarks about Jews, while he was drunk, and while in a private situation with police officers? (That is to say that Gibson was not intentionally broadcasting his inappropriate and offensive statements to a national audience – what he said was meant for public consumption.) Although there is a world of difference between the two situations, it took Gibson years to resurrect his career. Griffin should suffer no less.

And I quite agree. You ask forgiveness, then shut the hell up, and then start doing penance. Whoever advised her to lash out the way she did today gave her bad advice.

    Same crap.

Lisa bloom is a chelsea clinton.

Liberal Privilege has its limits, apparently.

The smart thing for her to do is apologize then disappear for a few months. Then she could return and go on the view and complain that she made a mistake and was punished enough. Instead this moron acts like she’s the offended party. Even the liberals think she went to far. She is making herself unhirable.

Laughing my ass off.

The progs do provide entertainment sometimes.

So let me get this straight: calling for someone’s head to be cut off is not bullying, but the victim complaining about it is?!

Anonamom in reply to Milhouse. | June 2, 2017 at 4:00 pm

“…[C]alling for someone’s head to be cut off is not bullying, but the victim complaining about it is…” when the victim is an evil white male oppressor.

There. I fixed it for you. You just accidentally stopped typing, Milhouse.

Whoever is giving Kathy Griffin career advice should be fired. That was just pathetic.

Every time I look at her I think to myself, “This woman’s a comedian!?”

She has the face of a jilted woman who has absolutely NO sense of humor. I have a hard time imagining myself laughing at anything she says.

inspectorudy | June 2, 2017 at 5:12 pm

For her to now claim to be a victim for what she’s done is like a bank robber complaining that he got shot because of the stupid guard. She has every right to do or say what she wants to but she cannot control the consequences of her act. The public is now showing her what they think of her stupid trick and she will have to live with it. As far as I can tell she broke no laws except the one called COMMON SENSE!

Did the Dixie Chicks ever recover after their Bush bash?

I think there were one of the first big name groups to get the conservative backlash. But, they complained that radio stations not playing their songs was a violation of their 1st amendment rights…little did they know.

Something to think of:

If this had been a conservative comic (yes, they exist) doing the same thing to a sitting president a few years ago, every single elected Republican would have been asked if they supported her actions.

Now, I have not heard a single elected (D) make even a peep.

None of the Dems have even been asked. That’s part of the leftist media game. Asking Republicans on-camera if they support a fellow conservatives controversial actions forces them to acknowledge the action publicly, and then either defend it (and risk facing similar backlash) or denounce it (and display weakness within the party).

Kathy Griffin’s offensive act can’t be used to tarnish Dems if they’re never forced to acknowledge it.

Hey for years whenever I saw her name , I really did nt read it too well and thought she was the other hack Kathy married to Frank

Yes, all great fun sticking voodoo pins in this twit. But the annoying fact is that she miscalculated nothing.

She wanted headlines. She succeeded. In show biz, there’s no such thing as bad publicity. A low profile is professional death. Notoriety is the ticket to success, particularly for someone with no other significant talents.

There are few downsides. She’s in no danger. She isn’t going to be droned or Arkansized. She isn’t even going to be harassed to distraction by the IRS—that’s a Democratic game, not Trump’s. The only significant danger lies in exactly how the Justice Department treats threats to POTUS—it would be rash of her to assume that something like this will automatically be dismissed as “free speech”. Free speech which is also poor taste is protected, but the Secret Service may not agree when POTUS in involved. She wouldn’t be shot, but she might spend a significant portion of her remaining lifetime in court if Justice decides to make things annoying for her. Presumably she got some expensive legal advice about that angle before she launched this stunt.

And that would be a blatant violation of her clearly established civil liberties. Putting her through any legal harassment ought to be an automatic §1938 case, come down like a ton of bricks with no qualified immunity. We cannot have a chilling effect on free speech, no matter how offensive it is.

tarheelkate in reply to Milhouse. | June 2, 2017 at 8:47 pm

I agree. I doubt very much that the Secret Service investigation will show any actual intent to cur Trump’s head off or to incite someone else to do it. So the violation here is not legal, but moral. She chose to be repulsive and we can choose to avoid her “comedy” performances.

tom swift in reply to Milhouse. | June 2, 2017 at 10:16 pm

You can certainly make that argument. I probably would myself. But it remains a matter of interpretation, and how you or I interpret the 1st is hardly binding on any judge anywhere. More importantly, it has absolutely nothing to do with Griffin’s future fate at the hands of the government’s law-enforcement apparatus.

But my guess is that she’ll have no trouble. Rather, there will be just enough noise—real or imaginary—from the Secret Service for Griffin to claim enhanced Valiant Martyr™ status, thus keeping her in the headlines for another couple of days.

I don’t think the Trumps watch TMZ, but the news may have already accelerated to the point that it was on cable news as a main story.

As a young kid, I remember sitting down with my parents to watch the news in order to learn. But, this type of stuff would never have been on TV in the 50-60’s.

Progressives are doing the very same thing to Sean Hannity right now. Maybe the conservative public has become aware that it’s time to give progressives a dose of their own medicine. A professor at Evergreen State College here in Olympia is learning what that is like – the fact that it’s coming from the generation of SJWs he’s been helping to nurture is icing on the cake (which is just an expression – I really don’t like icing on a cake unless it’s a good triple-chocolate cake).

OllBlueEyes | June 3, 2017 at 12:07 am

Typical leftist. Do whatever feels good at the moment, consequences be damned. Two quotes from Rhett Butler come to mind:
“If you had it all over to do again, you’d do no differently. You’re like the thief who isn’t the least bit sorry he stole but he’s terribly, TERRIBLY sorry he’s going to jail.”
“My dear, you’re such a child. You think by saying, ‘I’m sorry,’ all the past can be corrected.”

Want a glimpse into Griffin’s future career trajectory? Refer to the Dixie Chicks.

DaveGinOly in reply to OllBlueEyes. | June 3, 2017 at 1:11 am

Also note that Jim Carrey’s box office took a hit after he mocked American gun owners. His apology (trying to save the flop “Kick Ass 2”) was not accepted. He is now operating under the shelter of a cable network.

I predicted that Scarlet Johanson’s “Ghost In The Shell” would tank because of her big (liberal) mouth. I quite pleased to see that it did.

At least her lawyer gets billable hours.

Griffin’s schtick is to get in front of feminists women and gay men and bash white males. You can see her reflex in the quote
“I’ve dealt with old, white guys trying to keep me down my whole life, my whole career”

Truth is old white guys need to be told who she is because they aren’t going to her white male bashing show for kicks and giggles no less trying to stop her.

Some time soon the tide needs to turn on these people who use victimization at the hands of imaginary white males they can’t point to ruining their lives because it is ruining the lives of many people to chase the imaginary white males causing problems for these “victims”
