Democrats are incapable of learning from Georgia Special Election loss

Democrats are incapable of learning from Georgia Special Election loss

Democrats are too emotionally invested in the anti-Trump *Resistance*

https://twitter.com/palmbeachd/status/877348432675037184

What are the implications of Republican Karen Handel’s solid win (53-47 as of this writing) over Democratic darling Jon Ossoff in the Georgia Sixth District Special Election?

Democrats came into election day with high hopes, with Ossoff leading in almost every poll, tens of millions of dollars flowing in from around the country, and celebrities urging an anti-Trump vote.

Yet the Republican won the District by a larger margin than Trump did in the presidential election.

This loss comes after losses in special elections in Montana and Kansas, and another in South Carolina tonight. In all of these cases, Democrats tried to make the election a referendum about Trump.

In all of these loses, the Democratic meme is that the Democrat lost, but not by as much as expected.

I don’t think Democrats will learn any lessons from these losses. In fact, they probably will learn the wrong lessons.

As I often do on election nights when Democratic disappointment is likely to be highest, I watched MSNBC. First I watched Rachel Maddow, then Lawrence O’Donnell.

The MSNBC coverage was nothing short of delusional. The “a loss is really a win” approach was pervasive. Hope sprang eternal.

Maddow in particular continued to spin Trump Russia conspiracy theories. O’Donnell went on and on about how the Republican healthcare bill would be the doom of Republicans. A phrase used frequently on O’Donnell’s show was that this was an “ominous win” for Republicans because the margin was lower than when Tom Price won — ignoring that the Republican outperformed Trump’s win.

CNN was not quite as bad, at least they had on Larry Sabato to make a wake up call for Democrats. But even on CNN, most of the commentary was playing that same “a loss is really a win” theme.

I don’t think Democrats understand that their *Resistance* strategy is not working. But they are so emotionally invested in it, they can’t see their way out.

Ok … Now ask me if i care if the democrats stay stupid… * SHRUG * … I like the trend

The lesson is: More illegals need to be resettled in GA 6.

Given that Handel was a less than inspiring candidate, and that the entire Democrat party poured several times the money into the race that Handel had, it strikes me that there is a factor that no one wants to mention.

The prospect that Radical Democrat Terrorists might be encouraged if the Democrat won [especially since there would be court action if he had won because he does not and has not lived in the district, and another Democrat shooter might be used to influence the court] may have helped some decide in the last week or so.

    Could be.

But overall, people are just sick of the left and its malignant antics.

especially since there would be court action if he had won because he does not and has not lived in the district,

How could that possibly lead to court action? On what grounds? He can live wherever he likes; it’s up to the voters to decide whether they’re happy voting for someone who isn’t a neighbor, but it’s certainly not a requirement, and no legislature, state or federal, has the power to make it one.

actually residence requirement for office is VERY common and varies by State Laws, & by office per State

“Radical Democrat Terrorist” has just been permanently borrowed from you. 🙂

I would love to see holder get the Hillary treatment, and then watch all those entitled people pitch a hissy fit over it. The Holder would claim he was defeated by racists, when in reality he will be defeated because he is a racist.

From msnbc.com:

—————
Ossoff said this “small community here in Georgia, which has become the epicenter of politics — sometimes to my chagrin,” had sent a message.

“As darkness has crept across this planet, (you) have provided a beacon of hope for people here in Georgia and people around the world,” Ossoff told the thousands gathered. “We showed the world that in places where no one thought it was even possible to fight, we could fight.”
—————

Who talks like that?

I saw a poster on another blog suggesting he’d be happy to take a few million off george soros and then kick him in balls just to save him some time

This just in: The special counsel Mueller and his group just leaked: After Soros and Hollywood celebrities spent $50mill and lost again they are start investigating Russian manipulation of the special election in Georgia.

Unidentified Sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity say: Putin personally ordered the Russian Hackers to make certain Trump’s side won. Because they are friends, don’t you know.

WaPO and NYT will have the stories as soon as they stop crying and wetting their pants. CNN is angry that they lost a home game and are attacking Handel because she had the audacity to thank Trump and the crowd cheered Trump-Trump-Trump!

Vlad was the first to tweet: Гендель для Конгресса. Да! (Handel for Congress. Yes!)

    “Resist Pants! Resist Pants!”

    Then you can’t wet them.

Well ….. that’s what Hillary said.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | June 20, 2017 at 11:41 pm

Politico promoted a poll showing Ossoff up 7% just a week ago. The pollsters still suck.

4th armored div in reply to MaggotAtBroadAndWall. | June 21, 2017 at 12:03 am

can pollsters figure out that TRUMP supporters will lie to them?

They suck because they are corrupt, not incompetent.

Nah. The pollsters know their job. They got paid well for that poll.

Just remember that the pollster’s job is to get paid by the media outfit commissioning the poll — it’s a mistake to think the pollster’s job is to make an accurate prediction.

And it’s politico’s job to (a) sell advertising (by getting their audience to keep coming back (by making lefties feel hopeful in this time of despair)) and (b) to try to demoralize the deplorables in the hopes that they’ll stay home on election day.

I’ve got too much worry about stupid Republicans to worry about stupid Democrats.

A picture tells a thousand words, isn’t that what they say?

They pretend not to know how biased and untrustworthy they have become.

What will they say when the facts about Obama abuse of power eventually come to light?

    Disgusted55 in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | June 21, 2017 at 7:10 pm

They’ll probably say that “Russia forced” Obama to overstep the boundaries of his legal powers — or something to that effect. There HAS to be a “Russia did” SOMETHING come up when that happens! Stay tuned……..

It’s “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

And it had better be. It takes up much more disk space.

Great action shot there of CNN’s Fifth Column doing what it does best.

The lovely photo above brings a tear to my eye..SO many memories of all the election night “mourning.” It was like..National Sad Snowflake Day..at night.

And Clintak upthread is spot on. The pollsters have “a private face and a public face”. Political insiders get the unadjusted polling data, while the manipulated adjusted data is fed to the public as a Appeal to Conformity.

“The majority of your fellows believe x. You want to be accepted by normal rational people don’t you? What will your neighbors think?”

These people corrupt and arrogant, but they aren’t stupid. Hubris cost them the election because they under-estimated Trump and his supporters. Don’t make the same mistake.

PrincetonAl | June 21, 2017 at 5:34 am

Voter suppression is why Handel won. That is the only lesson to be learned.

How do I know voter suppression on such record high turnout?

Because it was not high as it could have been in minority areas BECAUSE rain which IS weather which is CODE for climate change which is CAUSED by Republicans pulling out of the Paris agreement.

QED. Racist voter suppression caused the loss.

Now stop with your silly analysis. We don’t want to give anyone any ideas.

I think you’re spot on with the “emotional investment with resistance” idea. It’s like an adolescent fashion, put on your Che t-shirt and fancy yourself a revolutionary while working as a barista. It’s totally juvenile nonsense, but many people in that crowd are building a personal identity around that fantasy.

If there were any justice in this world, McCain’s acceptance of money from Soros would constitute a prima facie case for treason, for which McCain would be expelled from the Senate.

This election SHOWS how much the demoCraps/libTurds are willing to pour $$$$ into their candidate. They “think” they can Buy any election but yet got taught a lesson which they will Fail to Learn Again !!

Sorry for the repeat post — please disregard.

Is there no election safe from Russian hacking? The Dem outspent the Repub 7 to 1 — in America, that means you’re supposed to win!

“In all of these cases, Democrats tried to make the election a referendum about Trump.”

Um, Professor? This WAS a referendum about President Trump. It just didn’t go the way that the Democrats thought that it should.

When the Left project something, what they mean is that they are projecting their inner selves onto everyone around them, much the same way that they project their racism, sexism, and various hatreds & phobias onto everyone else around them.

Pelosi can give Ossoff a participation award so he doesn’t feel bad. What the Dems are missing is that during Obama’s tenure they tried to make the election about Obama and it didn’t work. They continue to make the 2016 and 2017 elections about Trump and look how that’s turning out. These elections are local and the Republicans understand that. The coastal Dems are trying to make them national and it’s going to sink them.

And the Democrat Party moves forward in its quest to monopolize concession speeches. Well done, lads, well done.

VaGentleman | June 21, 2017 at 9:43 am

My question is: How does Resist differ from the policy the conservative #NeverTrumpers would have had us follow if Clinton had won? Were / are they any smarter than their dem counterparts?

What happened to the Democrat Party is simple, it became too ideological. Politics used to be all about balance. Politicians attempted to appeal to a wide swath of people in order to gain office. Then they ignored their campaign promises and concentrated on becoming wealthy by pandering to monied special interests. Since the late 1990s, that changed for the Dems. Party leaders, and many Dem politicians, came to believe in the ideologies that they spouted to gain office. Now, they are are prisoners of their own ideological mindset and can not adapt to changing conditions.

Trump is actually a God-send for the Dems. He appeals to the former Dem base, the blue collar worker. Literally everything that he is trying to accomplish will benefit that group. He also appeals to the business class, especially the small business owner. If the Dems were smart, they would build up the fact that Trump is an outsider despised by his own party, the Republicans, and support him. This would allow them to do what they did in the late 1960s after losing the fight against the civil rights movement; hijack the base created by the Republicans. But, because of the ideological positions that they have assumed, the Dems won’t do that.

    notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to Mac45. | June 21, 2017 at 3:42 pm

Key words there, of yours: “If the Dems were smart…”

We can also say “If the GOPe were smart….” But I repeat myself.

The Liberal Leftist Progressive Democrat supporting media had their victory articles ready to go just like on November 8. Billions have been spent by Dems against significantly less funded Republicans, not including the costs incurred by Hollywood and New York elites that never hit the ledgers. Threats of children dying in the GA-6 District streets and women left to die by Republican candidates refusing suppositories for the sick and poor fall on deaf ears. Shock and awe campaigns, ridiculous spending and threats of impending Apocalypse may sway Californians and New Yorkers as well as the media, but it won’t sway rational voters in places like Montana and Georgia. Luckily, the Lefties will never be able to figure this out. Like they do with their fiscal policies, the answer is always to throw more money at doing more of the same.

The MSNBC coverage was nothing short of delusional. The “a loss is really a win” approach was pervasive. Hope sprang eternal.

Yes Dems. Please, keep winning.

Henry Hawkins | June 21, 2017 at 3:37 pm

If the GOP doesn’t stop winning elections, the Party will surely die.

We REALLY NEED a “laughing out loud till I puke” button on here along with the thumbs up and down.. SO many of these comments are hilarious! You guys ROCK!! I’m still laughing SOOOO hard about how “losing is really winning.” They ARE desperate, aren’t they??
