Deutsch On Trump Hot Mic: ‘Let Record Show, This Election Has Ended’

Deutsch On Trump Hot Mic: ‘Let Record Show, This Election Has Ended’

Two days ago, Deutsch Predicted Something Like This Was Coming

Two days ago, we reported Donny Deutsch predicting that stories damaging to Donald Trump involving women would be emerging. We wondered out loud: “was this pure speculation on Donny’s part, or did a little birdie inside the Clinton campaign tell him something?”

And sure enough—just one day later—broke the hot mic story of Trump making crude and lewd comments about one woman in particular and women in general. So sure looks like Donny did know something. In any case, appearing on today’s With All Due Respect, Donny declared: “let the record show, at 4:01pm on October 7th, this election ended—when this Washington Post story broke.”

What do readers think?

Is Deutsch right: does this story deal Trump’s candidacy a fatal blow? He apologized for the comments, yet there are calls for him to step aside. Or is it in the nature of the countless other negative stories about him that have appeared without seeming to slow the Donald down?

JOHN HEILEMANN: Donny, people have — this video is out — we are going to play some of it momentarily, but almost everybody watching the show will have already seen it. so I want to ask you this: Trump was going to get asked about bad language, bad attitude towards women already. This is going to be a big topic in the debate on Sunday for sure given the way the first debate went, Alicia Machado, all of that. How much worse do you think this makes it and what can Trump do now given the depth of the hole he’s dug himself in?

DONNY DEUTSCH: Let the record show at 4:01pm on October 7th, this election ended–when this Washington Post story broke. This is so lewd, and actually yesterday morning I said on Morning Joe: you watch in the next week, once a week, there will be stuff with women coming out because this man has lived this way for 30 or 40 years. Hillary Clinton has been vetted. This is his first go around. And they’ve been saving the best for last. This is going to be so offensive to women. It’s not just that he is talking about sleeping with a woman, he’s married, and we’re going to play this in a couple seconds. It’s the lewdness, it’s the misogynistic nature, it’s the aggressive, demeaning nature. You do not recover from this. This election ended. All I can say is I am sorry. And the scary thing: there will be more to come.

Suggested Trump spin: “Bush and I were joking around doing Bill Clinton impressions.”

DieJustAsHappy in reply to legacyrepublican. | October 8, 2016 at 7:23 am

I can’t find any humor in the situation, although I wish I could. Perhaps, if Trump hadn’t already established such a track record concerning other matter. then this revelation wouldn’t have as great of an import. As we know, such is not the case.

Never have I seen a candidate for the presidency do so much to damage his own campaign. I think in the minds of any number of people, if they are among the undecideds, it will be all the more difficult to pull the lever for him. For those “softly” in his corner, he may lose some votes.

At one point, earlier in the campaign, I expressed the view of him dropping out and Mike Pence becoming the presidential candidate. Now, it just may be too late.

The whole damn campaign has been a joke. Trouble is it not funny, not funny at all because the joke has been on us. I wish Trump had only been doing Bill Clinton impressions.

CloseTheFed in reply to DieJustAsHappy. | October 8, 2016 at 8:30 am

It is not a joke when a man, about one month after announcing his candidacy, brings the families of those killed by illegal aliens to a press conference and gives them the floor.

No other candidate did that. None.

      He’s not a joke, he’s a good American.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to CloseTheFed. | October 8, 2016 at 8:49 am

Taken by itself, the deed was no joke and admirable. However, it alone is not going to win the election. However, with all the hoopla he’s created (yes, he’s had the willing assistance of the MSM), it’s difficult to remember the good and say, “I want this man in the Oval Office.”

CloseTheFed in reply to DieJustAsHappy. | October 8, 2016 at 8:56 am

You wrote, “The whole damn campaign has been a joke.”

Well, when people have lost children by torture by illegal aliens, and Trump notices and Trump makes an issue of it, to say his whole campaign is a joke, is to immorally discount the lives and families of those Americans.

You owe your fellow Americans sobriety in your voting judgments, not a whiny, “Oh-my-gosh this is too hard, and I have to stick in the middle with all the other milquetoasts, or I will die because I’m not brave enough to withstand the heat in the kitchen.”

FACE IT, if there had been the media of today 200 years ago, we have no idea if any of the politicians who were elected would have been.

Man up, vote for America, whether you want to have tea with the man or not.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to DieJustAsHappy. | October 8, 2016 at 9:16 am

CloseTheFed, more and more, image and emotion have been driving this campaign, not fact and reason. As such, Trump has been failing because he ignores this. Any number of people with whom I’ve spoke, react viscerally about Trump. “How can I vote for such a person?” This has been a fairly common question. And, this was before the current story.

Unless there is some counteraction to nullify what he has said, the election is all but over. The is the saying, “What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.” Unfortunately, for Trump, he has not taken this to heed.

In politics, one can give up only so much political ground and after that it’s difficult, if not impossible, to get it back. My is that Trump is at this point. Of curse, my view and a $1.50 will get you a cup of coffee.

Trump talking about things that Clinton and Kennedy actually did.

And, a certain ranking Democrat on Banking committee was documented with having sex with the owner of a male escort server – In the Oval Office. So, let’s drop the faux moral outrage.

Ragspierre in reply to MattMusson. | October 8, 2016 at 11:19 am

This is an interesting mix of tu quoque, deminimus, and MoveOn.Org.

Were many of us outraged by the conduct of Clinton, etc.?

          Why, yes. We certainly were.

Is it “faux” outrage when we learn of similar attitudes and conduct in someone in our “tribe”.

No. It’s perfectly consistent genuine outrage.

Or its rank hypocrisy if it’s excused.

inspectorudy in reply to MattMusson. | October 8, 2016 at 11:52 am

So, Matt, this is to be our new standard for selecting the man/woman to be our representative in the election? To look at the worst in history and say he wasn’t as bad as some of them? I want change as much as anyone but I am not so sure this is the right man. He was 57 years old when he was saying this garbage! He wasn’t a twenty-something in a beer party swapping tales with his drunken immature buddies. This was a newly married man whose ego knows no bounds and his mind has no depth.

Barry in reply to MattMusson. | October 8, 2016 at 2:49 pm

“So, Matt, this is to be our new standard… ”

I think a fair reading of history would suggest it is a very old standard. It may have been “off limits” to report it at one time.

Sounds like “Sudden Virgin Ears syndrome.” Perhaps you should have your memory checked.

Was it over when Germany bombed Pearl Harbor? All this is going to do is focus attention on two things: 1. The hypocrisy of the media, and 2. All of Bill Clinton’s women: Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Jones, Kathkeen Willey, Jennifer Flowers, Eileen Wellstone, Monica Lewinsky, Elizabeth (Ward) Gracen, Sally Perdue, Dolly Kyle Browning, Lencola Sullivan, Sandra Allen James, Susie Whitacre, and Bobbie Ann Williams.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to jwoodatty. | October 8, 2016 at 11:21 am

Given the history of the Clintons and the campaign thus far, I’m going on the basis that as long as the campaign is stuck in the muck and mire it aids Hillary. When Trump is on the mark and focused, he makes headway.

It’s no surprise that revelations are coming out as we’re in the final month (the end can’t come soon enough) of the campaign. It’s going to take something so monumental and criminal that there is no way it can be deflected or ignored before Hillary will be greatly impacted.

So, the stage is set for Sunday.

Ragspierre in reply to DieJustAsHappy. | October 8, 2016 at 11:03 am

I’m sorry, but that’s just silly.

First, there is the real question of authenticity about ANYTHING that Assange publishes.

Second, how do you tar Hellary any more than she’s already been tarred? She’s the Hell-Bitch from Hell. She’s a known quantity, and it doesn’t matter to…apparently…a slim majority of voters. Many of whom hate her, but will vote for her.

At this point…though I agree it defies all that’s rational…there isn’t anything I can imagine that would “ruin” Hellary if she isn’t ruined now.

BREAKING: JULIAN ASSANGE FINALLY RELEASES OCTOBER SURPRISE, U.S. RIGHTS SOLD ON INTERNATIONAL MARKET

https://conservativedailypost.com/breaking-julian-assange-finally-releases-october-surprise-u-s-rights-sold-on-international-market/

Part 1 of this release includes over 2,000 emails and 170 attachments. Even worse, over 1,200 of the emails center around nuclear interests. In April of 2015 the New York Times published a story that outted the Uranium One deal where Hillary’s State Department sold U.S. nuclear rights to Russia. Now, 20% of all US nuclear production belongs to Russia.

The deal had to be approved by a special committee of appointed representatives from insider US government agencies. The State Department, the U.S. Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Committee on Foreign Investment In the United States (CFIUS) all signed off on the deal.

And, just like clockwork, as Russian interests began to assume control of the newly gifted nuclear rights, Millions of dollars were funneled into the Clinton Foundation between 2009 and 2013 from people with direct ties to the deal, including the Chairman of Uranium One himself, Mr. Ian Telfer. Obama’s White House put a “restriction” on the Clinton Foundation that required Bill and Hillary to report all contributions. Unsurprisingly, contributions from Mr. Telfer were not disclosed.

The story gets even dirtier; when the original article broke, the New York Times completely rejected the possibility of foul play and dismissed any questions regarding the crooked deal as “baseless.”

Oh, and let’s not talk about Hillary’s opinion of the voters

His business world is in a shambles and that’s why he won’t release his tax returns. After this new expose he might just as well release them because no one will be talking about them just like no one is talking about the treasonous things hillary told Wall Street in her speeches. Humphrey's Executor | October 8, 2016 at 8:35 am

How can his wife and daughter campaign for him from this point? He’s done. He needs to quit and let Pence take over. Pick Carly as new VP candidate.

Nothing is more important than preventing the continued decline of the United States, and the deaths of Americans at the hands of foreigners such as illegal aliens and muslims. As long as I know Trump is better for my fellow Americans (in this and so many other ways), I have no moral right to vote for someone else. I owe my fellow Americans sobriety in my voting.

Next, as someone that has been a single white female my entire life, let me just say, the desire he expresses isn’t unusual from men. They may not say a word, but by their behavior, I know they want to “get” whatever they can. I just have to plan and act accordingly. Men and women are different, and that’s all there is to it. At least Trump is honest about it. It does make some things more difficult and awkward in life, but that’s life.

He’s lived an independent life, run a private business, and aside from the tabloids, not had to worry about what he’s said. He’s had a rare freedom that many of us would like to have, me included.

No problem from this white female single lawyer. Annoyed it’s in the public, but the dems wanted to drag us there, and drag us they did. When will they release Bill’s sex tapes, so we can have some more lurid stuff in the public square? And what is it with Chelsea Clinton looking like Web Hubbel?

You can find several good cites that define and even diagram logical fallacies.

Look up “ad hominem tu quoque”. You’ll find several interesting examples of it here, starting with my friend Legacy’s contribution at the head of the thread.

See, the question is not about what Clinton has or has not done. Hellary is a bad, terrible, really awful person. We all know this.

The question is about the bad, terrible, really awful person T-rump has shown himself to be, and you don’t justify that by misdirecting the issue to Clinton.

Conservatives deal with reality. We also think character matters, and always have. Regardless of the tribal pull to support the unsupportable.

“The other guy did worse” is an argument, but a very week one. This is too toxic. He talked about grabbing the genitals of a married woman. He was married and too old at the time to be talking that way. It’s a 10 on the creep scale. All the other GOP candidates have to disown him.

There are Americans right now, alive, that will be murdered if Clinton is elected. We don’t know who they are, but their time on earth will be decided on November 8th.

Are YOU willing to go to their funerals and tell their families you just couldn’t bring yourself for vote for Trump over HILLARY Clinton?

“The second our guys says something we cut and run”? Do you want to count the seconds? My God, they go on forever. I’ve been cutting and running and reversing over and over again. I’m getting pretty dizzy trying to keep up with the next release of horrible non-presidential behavior from this man. I will still put an X by his unsavory name on Nov. 8th but as a decent American I will be sick doing it. Hillary is such a bad person that nothing she has revealed about her will damage her. NOTHING! But Trump is an open book with many unwritten pages and he is filling it up with filth, lies, and garbage.

Character is destiny. The man in the video is Donald Trump. Sure, it’s bawdy Trump. It’s “locker room Trump.” And I’m no prude about dirty talk in private. But that isn’t all that’s going on. This isn’t just bad language or objectifying women with your buddies. It’s a married man who is bragging about trying to bed a married woman. It’s an insecure, morally ugly, man-child who thinks boasting about how he can get away with groping women ”because you’re a star” impresses people. He’s a grotesque — as a businessman and a man: full stop.

If you can see that, but still think Hillary Clinton would be worse. Fine. Just be prepared for an endless stream of more embarrassments in your name. And, for my friends in the media and in politics, if you minimize, dismiss or celebrate his grotesqueness out of partisan zeal, just keep in mind that some people, including your children, might think you mean it. Or, they might know you don’t mean it. Which means they now know you lie for a living.

…. Rags… Only Right and Humphrey… 100 percent committed to losing “well”

Clinton said: In a talk to a Brazilian bank in 2013, she said her “dream” is “a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders”

In an April 2013 speech to the National Multifamily Housing Council, Clinton said politicians must balance “both a public and a private position” while making deals.

Clinton said. “But if everybody’s watching, you know, all of the back room discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous to say the least. So, you need both a public and a private position.”

If Clinton is elected there will be open borders and open trade! Can our country survive that?

What concerns you more? Inappropriate comments made by Trump 10 + years ago or what Clinton will allow to happen to our country.

Both democrats, republicans, most of the news media, Hollywood and academic will do anything to stop Trump!
He has the gall to try and stop what is happening to our nation today! No need for me to explain it we all know the deal.

How in the hell do you know any of this? Did you read it on his website? Do you have any idea that he even knows what’s on his website? The only two times he has looked half way presentable was when he read off the teleprompter. Anytime he is off the cuff, as in the last debate, his true unknowledgeable approach to life is apparent. Between being an ego maniac and a liar he is now running for the WH. He has zero history of promoting or supporting any of the things you claim he will do once elected. He is a fabricated image just like obama was and you and all the rest of his supporters have no idea what he believes in or thinks. I can only imagine if my newly wed wife heard me say such things after we were married. What a pig.

Common Sense:
Thank you. You have my gratitude.

Having been shocked by lyrics of rap and rock for many years I wondered how coarse our society would become. Clinton’s presidency it seemed would be the low point. What would an audio of Bill and Monica sound like as she serviced him in the Oval Office? His lying to a jury had to get him kicked out of office. But no, Republican senators with weak knees proclaimed a president’s sex life is private and doesn’t affect his doing the job of being president of US. They exonerated him.
But now a lot of these weak kneed senators and representatives have grown a spine and declare Trump unfit because of some locker room talk that every man who has been in military, sports locker rooms or work places has heard and maybe said many times. Go figure.

The fallacy you employ is called “deminimus”…or an attempt to minimize a wrong instead of dealing with it.

What is the ‘wrong’ of which you speak? Is it Monica and Bill in the White House or is it Hillary managing the bimbo eruptions?

        Or maybe you aren’t….

Seriously, reading the comments and disparagement you have lobbed at others who disagree with you here on this web site, one must smile at your present obsession.

I don’t use that language, but I have certainly heard it in locker rooms many times. Men (and women too) often say things in private that they would never say in public. And, no, it doesn’t necessarily reflect how they really think or feel.

Ragspierre in reply to jwoodatty. | October 8, 2016 at 10:44 am

Sorry, that’s just a stupid lie.

What one says anywhere IS a reflection of how we REALLY think and feel.

Especially, as here, when it is on tape. Der Donald is a sick phuc.

Excuse that how you may, it’s still just true.

userpen in reply to Ragspierre. | October 8, 2016 at 11:30 am

        sick phuc?

What does that say about you and your slew of demeaning comments and hate directed toward others?

Cite to some. Bullshit is bullshit, as you’ve demonstrated.

Don’t have a clue how to find a person’s past comments at this site, but profanity directed at others by you, and disparagement directed to their character, are not in short supply.

Or are you forgetting the primary season?

It’s comical you would deny what is obvious.

Cite to where I “deny” anything.

What’s comical is your very selective deploring of me, when so many others have been as “bad” or worse.

Like the typical hypocrite you are.

The reason the comment is directed at you, and not others, is because you said:

“What one says anywhere IS a reflection of how we REALLY think and feel.”

It was easy to reflect back on the way you have engaged with others, with temperament not unlike Trump, the guy you love to hate.

          The irony.

Oh, darlin’, I stand by every word I’ve ever posted here!

And, VERY unlike your Great God Cheeto, I do not lie. I do not victimize widows. I do not cheat anyone in business. I do not commit adultery. I do NOT buy influence and work as a crony capitalist.

I COULD go on, but this is sufficient.

Nor surprised to see you praise your virtues, but what that has to do with my comment, I’m unsure.

It’s not necessary that you tell me, though I won’t be surprised if you cannot resist.

“…when so many others have been as “bad” or worse.”

LOL, up thread you say we cannot compare the behavior of one person to that of another.

Yea, many others have been “as bad or worse”. So what? You are a hypocrite.

          Faux outrage.

And for the record, I don’t think your comments are all that bad, just repetitious bullshit when it come to this election.

Another in the series “Stupid Barri Lies”

What I point out is the fallacy of ad hominem tu quoque, which AVOIDS the issue of right or wrong by pointing to another’s behavior.

If you want to compare wrong behaviors in two different people, you have to have the integrity to honestly ACKNOWLEDGE the bad behavior in the one FIRST, and then you can take on the second.

Rationally, it’s perfectly valid to compare behaviors in two people WITH THAT CAVEAT.

          Look it up.

Also look up “hypocrisy”. It is not applicable to me or my comments. I live by my beliefs, though like all humans, I fail them at times.

Another in the series “Stupid Rags is a hypocrite”

“What I point out is the fallacy of ad hominem tu quoque, which AVOIDS the issue of right or wrong by pointing to another’s behavior”

Which is what you did, as I pointed out. I imagine the keyboard letters l&i&e are pretty well worn out by now.

I’m sure Many Many people will say it’s over. (They count on Don having PC shame. But he is not confined by their politics rules.) All moral people are repulsed by Trump and have been. Only, it’s impossible to be worse than the Clintons.

This doesn’t play I don’t think into the Trump treats women badly frame or, is sexist even. It fits into this guy is a shameful ass frame. It’s not unexpected.

All I see this doing is further tearing our political rift. Between the media’s horrid slander and the political class’s shameless disregard for democracy and American Values.. I only see this getting uglier… this can only get worse for the disenfranchised citizens

Here is how the Don is worse than Hillary Clinton: he destroys conservative movement from within.
We can survive and oppose Hillary the same way we survived and successfully opposed Obama:
    http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/435078/republicans-didnt-cave-obama
If The Donald is elected, conservatism will be shuttered. There will be a vocal, well-organized liberal opposition with which he will want to make deals anyway, new Trumpist minority party and conservatives trying to regroup. In 2020 Trump will be replaced by a charismatic left-liberal president. Dems will be running against Trump for decades to come.
I don’t think there is much to that tape (I mean, really, it’s gross, but it doesn’t tell us anything about Mr. Trump we didn’t already know). However, the momentum is such that the time to replace Trump is now.
Donald Trump is ot going to build the wall because Mexico is not going to pay for it. He will not fight terrorism because it ‘s complicated. He’s a tired old man who can’t stay focused for more than 15 minutes. He can’t even feign leadership qualities.
Put somebody likable , like Rubio, on top of the ticket. Even if the non-Trump ticket won’t win, at least the GOP can show good effort in getting rid of him.

Ragspierre,
Have you ever eard that kind of talk? Notice I said “maybe used”. Never saiid everyone did it.

This isn’t about the election, this is about the future of America. The Texas Patriots Tea Party and other conservative groups have been trying to take part in the election since 2012 and are still being blocked by the IRS.

The FEC, FBI, IRS and the DOJ are owned by the politicians and none of them will defend individual rights, freedom, liberty or the pursuit of happiness.

The Bush family, fully supported by the Republican leadership, joins the Democrats in destroying the conservative movement.

What Trump is charged with is not a crime; we cannot say the same of Hillary’s transgressions. Without an honest government, we simply cannot prosecute her. So we are to elect her President instead?

Ragspierre in reply to MSO. | October 8, 2016 at 10:35 am

    Some points…

    1. T-rump is not “charged” with anything. It’s admitted.

    2. Yes, what T-rump SAYS he was doing IS a crime called “sexual assault”.

    3. I’d beat the living dog shit out of anyone who treated any of my five daughters in that fashion. IF you wouldn’t…well…

      Some other points…

What Trump admitted was having a ribald conversation with another man that was caught on tape, not a sexual assault. This is better known as ‘bad boy’ braggadocio’. In this regard, I might point out that one of the most common themes concerning the various relationships between men and women is why some women seem to prefer ‘bad boys’?

Most of our daughters, including yours and mine, are extremely resilient women who are well able to defend themselves. As fathers, we tend to climb upon horses that are perhaps just a bit too tall in our attempts to protect their innocence.

In my opinion, you’re a fine man Rags. Your defense of the fairer sex is an admirable trait, but we all learn eventually that the human condition requires that each of us be personally responsible for our choices.

Ragspierre in reply to MSO. | October 8, 2016 at 11:49 am

“What Trump admitted was having a ribald conversation with another man that was caught on tape, not a sexual assault.”

No. What T-rump admitted to on the tape he admitted to was a SERIES of sexual assaults. Not “you grab her by the pussy”, but “you grab ’em by the pussy”.

I appreciate your respectful tone in the remainder of your response.

I wonder if people realize that if we keep on this destructive path, how much blood will be running in the streets. I don’t know why, I just feel it, the sleeping dragon has woken up. This election is the turning point. If this election does not turn the direction of our country around and correct the course. If it is already too late. I fear there will be another civil war. I can’t say if it will be selective and pin point or broad based like the one in the 1800’s. But with the amount of emotion and lack of even trying to meet in the middle, that has become our political system, I fear there will be blood in the streets within the next 50 years.

Zachary in reply to starride. | October 8, 2016 at 12:04 pm

If one presidential election is truly the turning point for the country, then we are already screwed.

By the way it’s not. No president alone can fix the rot.

Henry Hawkins | October 8, 2016 at 10:51 am

Forget about right and wrong and moral equivalencies, this latest Trump sh*tbomb will be prosecuted in the kangaroo court of leftist media. Hillary’s base is solid. Trump’s base is solid. The purpose here is to (1) poison Trump for independents, who will decide this election, and (2) worsen Trump’s already poor standing with the female vote, which is half the electorate.

Idealism: This shouldn’t mean anything! Bill Clinton done worse! What about Hillary! Wikileaks! Etc., etc., etc. All true, but rendered effectively irrelevant because……..

Realism: Trump, the Master of Media, is repeatedly getting his ass handed to him by the Hillary campaign’s media team. Wikileaks dump coming? Fine, drop one of our Trump soundbites to give our supportive media something else to focus on. Issue talking points to all the usual media suspects to regurgitate. Move the rest of our Trump soundbites to the front of the shelf, ready to drop as needed over the next month.

Trump the would-be presidential racehorse has pulled up lame in the fourth turn.

Exiliado in reply to Henry Hawkins. | October 8, 2016 at 11:04 am

Trump was lame from the beginning, and that’s the reason why so many of us dislike him.
The problem is that our dislike for Hillary is much worse.
He says mean things. Hillary DOES illegal, unAmerican things.
I am still voting for Trump.

Henry Hawkins in reply to Exiliado. | October 8, 2016 at 11:49 am

My dislike of Trump began long ago, when he tried to insunuate himself into the SALT talks between the US and USSR. Trump’s ego told him he’d be a far better negotiator, you see. Everything he;s done since has only worsened my opinion of him.

I cannot vote for Trump or Clinton because it would endorse and empower someone with gross characterological problems and/or odious policies. I’ll be writing in a protest vote at the top of the ticket (WAJ?), and voting McCrory(R), Burr(R), etc., downticket here in NC.

The anti-Trump factions are touting this as a game changer. It isn’t. The first thing that has to be understood about the current contest is that it has NOTHING to do with the character of the participants. The real contest is between those who wish to maintain the status quo, in politics, and those who want to change it. And, as Trump is the only candidate who is even remotely likely to change the political status quo, he is not going to lose any support. And, the Clinton campaign knows this.

The whole reason behind the release of this 10 year old recording is to defuse the traction that the “Bill is a rapist and Hillary supported him” meme is gaining. Hillary is supposed to be the protector and supporter of women and children and the Bill the predator meme is undermining that. The Trump “expose” is designed to mitigate that damage, not to indict Trump. Though the Clinton campaign would be happy if it cost him some support.

This is imply another sign of the desperation of the Clinton campaign.

    Ragspierre in reply to Mac45. | October 8, 2016 at 12:08 pm

Watch and see. This will move the polls, and it will end the contest.

      Mac45 in reply to Ragspierre. | October 8, 2016 at 1:26 pm

Wow. You still believe that the establishment polls are anywhere near accurate? The only “polls” that will matter are the ones where people actually cast a ballot for President. And then, we still have to allow for all the vote fraud which will be perpetrated by the Anti-Trump forces.

You may hate Trump. But, he was the only true anti-establishment candidate in the race for President this term. That is why he is the Republican nominee for President. And, that is why the anti-establishment electorate is going to vote for him, regardless of the “scandals” that the media can manufacture.

My, my. Armies of professional dirt-diggers searching for months … and they come up with something mildly primitive Trump said over a decade ago.

And that’s it, huh? Well, color me unimpressed. Trump must be a bloody saint if that’s the worst they can dredge up. This is just another little bit of imaginary ammunition which those who weren’t going to vote for Trump anyway can use to rationalize their decision to help push the Clinton crime cartel to the top … and feel oh-so-superior while they do it.

But it will make no difference with the voters who are going to count. Trump’s ex-women speak highly of him. Bill Clinton’s ex-women hate him. Which one are women willing to see set foot in the White House?

Henry Hawkins in reply to tom swift. | October 8, 2016 at 11:53 am

‘Trump must be a bloody saint if that’s the worst they can dredge up.’

Big word, ‘if’. The worst they can dredge up is sitting on the shelf waiting until about a week or so before the election, to preclude recuperation time. Between now and then will come a parade of these lesser little surprises. Drip, drip, drip, BANG, between now and November 8th.

CloseTheFed in reply to tom swift. | October 8, 2016 at 1:37 pm

    To Tom Swift:
I have to agree. As long as Trump has been in the public limelight, and as many deals as he does, the lack of anything more damaging than this is really impressive. He’s actually lived a pretty clean life. Look at his kids, more of the same.

Really, pretty impressive, even if he is a bit boorish… Only watched his TV show the first season, but I’ve got to hand it to him, he knows how to make things work.

I am still voting for Trump.
I still think that if he sucks, Hillary suck double.
I’ll take a foul mouthed braggadocio over a corrupt, pathological liar and influence peddler, every single time.

Wow, a lot of fomenting righteous wrath here today, a lot of it from the usual screamers. Maybe this event is a good thing. It gives the Party of Stupid a chance to do what it wants to do, lay down and submit to liberal ravishing. Its almost Halloween, time to put on your Ryan and McCain masks.

What will be each candidates influence on govt structure, powers and policy? How is this relevant? Is someone trying to distract and if so who, why, from what? Oh, yea,
…the stink of it! …nevermind.

Obviously this won’t matter to the faithful on either side of the Trump argument. I can see it’s being met with the usual “so, what’s?” contrasted with the predicted “we told you so’s.”

We aren’t the one’s this attack is targeted at. Those undecideds who don’t like either candidate but aren’t sold on the laughable third party options, who don’t read political blogs and get exposed to news by TV, word of mouth(rumor) and Facebook(controlled lefty rumor) are going to see this and it will likely nudge them a bit more away from being able to vote for Trump.

Also, Trump needs a grand performance in tomorrow’s debate and this story has him coming in at a disadvantage, which will of course be played to hard by Hillary and her media. He had to be very good Trump to have a chance. Now the best he can do is slightly better than that Trump we just heard in the video. He’s toast.

Actually, this election ended almost a decade ago. In 2008 to be exact. That was when the US elected its very own version of Robert Mugabe – a totalitarian thug willing to incite racial violence for political gain. Since his ascension to power Obama has weaponized the IRS, turned the FBI into a private secret police force, opened our borders by granting illegal amnesty to lawbreakers, elevated voting fraud to Third World levels, made health care unaffordable for millions who previously had access to it, deliberately strengthened Islamist governments abroad, and started a race war in some of our major cities. How long can self-government survive in those circumstances? No candidate – even someone not named Trump – stood a chance this year.

For those who are chortling over Trump’s impending demise it is good to remind you of two things. The first is that no Republican was going to win the White House in 2016. The template the MSM/DNC axis is using against Trump would also have been used against Cruz, Bush, Graham, or anyone else the Stupid Amnesty Party nominated. Here is a 100% guarantee: in 2020 the MSM/DNC axis will suddenly discover a “strange new respect” for Trump, and use that to beat up whomever Republicans will nominate. Do you recall how Mitt Romneycare went from being a weirdo religious nut who gives people cancer in 2012 to the voice of sweet anti-Trump reason in 2016?

The second thing is this: the MSM/DNC axis believes that it has not only the ability but the right to elevate whom it chooses to the Oval Office. Trump is being destroyed for talking dirty, while Hillary! will become president even though her actions are evil. In between your guffaws over Trump’s troubles you might want to consider the wisdom of meekly letting the media have veto power over a non-Democrat Party candidate. Shouldn’t you at least protest the media’s hypocrisy and lying – even a little?

I say this as someone who does not like Trump. He left-of-center politics makes me think of him as Hillary! with a more realistic toupee. But I prefer Trump to someone the Joseph Goebbles of the media are actively campaign for.

Would not be surprised to see this have a huge negative effect, especially as the echo chamber obscures things more important.

But to anyone that believed the private conduct of the Clintons was irrelevant to the performance of public duties, who are they to complain now?

As always, words are not the same as action, though we are coming to live in a world where the opposite seems to be more true.

Who knew that lawyers could summon so much passion?

Looks like we have another edition of “which is worse” in this nasty election season going on.

Let’s look at context though:
-Trump’s gaffe was a decade ago not even thinking about being a politician and doing what every non-naive person in the world knows rich celeb males do and that’s talk dirty about females. Nothingburger to me, but I can see how it will faux shock the country. He’s looking pretty Presidential (Billy Clinton joke) if you ask me.

-Hillary was acting as a high ranking member of the federal government engaging in despicable acts against the country, not just talking about it. But I’m sure I know which one will be covered most by the media and which one will be a hot button debate issue.

Trump just said there’s “zero chance” he’ll quit. But, hey, it’s Trump, and he lies all the time, so hopefully, this is just bluster or a lie.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | October 8, 2016 at 2:35 pm

I’m confused. Not the first time nor most likely the last. Is there absentee voting now ongoing? Also, is there any place that is already early voting? I ask this because if there is either of these, how could the ballot be changed? Isn’t too late, regardless of whether Trump was somehow forced to resign or did so voluntarily?

There is some early voting already happening. While most states have a 15-day early voting window, others have more generous ones ranging from 29 to about 35 up to 45 days. The latter, of course, fall in the “happening now” category. These states include Vermont and Ohio. Here’s a link if you want to check out more details by state: https://www.vote.org/early-voting-calendar/

Ballots cannot be changed in most states at this point, so if Trump drops (he’s adamant he won’t), the Trump/Pence ticket would be muddied. If he quits this late in the game, it’s brand new territory.

Good question. We need more clarifications re early voting and write-in.

Write-ins are even more problematic than early voting (which has started in only a few states so far). Each state has different write-in requirements, but most require that the write-in candidate file along with the other candidates after obtaining X number of signatures or whatever the given state requires. For example, I live in Florida, and there are a handful of write-in candidates who can be written in and counted because they filed in time to “make” the ballot; however, writing in some other candidate not already recognized as a viable write-in will result in a void vote (no vote at all).

“… so hopefully, this is just bluster or a lie.”

LOL, the deranged never trumpers are always full of hope.

I’ll put this in the file, marked #473, reasons why trump will be stripped of the nomination or be forced to resign.

Ah, so I’m “deranged” now? What fun. And yes, I do harbor a faint hope that Trump will step aside, if only to avoid the historical embarrassment of his crushing defeat at the polls. What’s wrong with hoping that and how is that “deranged”? Are all hopes deranged? Even if they are unlikely to happen? Is it deranged to hope that your child will be one of the 5% who survive the cancer she has? Is it deranged to hope that much-needed rain will fall to ensure a good harvest . . . even though the almanacs and weather reports say otherwise? I find “hope” and “derangement” ill-suited to pairing, but I guess some cynics might quash hope in the name of supposed sanity.

I am kind of excited that you find me so powerful that I rate the #473 reason for Trump’s defeat or failure. Wow! That’s super special. Heck, I’m super-powered and super-special. I can live with that. 😛

If you think that replacing Trump at this time would have any hope of Illary not becoming the next President.

You can bet the replacement will come from the Bush/Clinton dynasty and might as well be Illary. I’ll just write in Trump.

Or if you think Illary will win, and drop dead and you will get Tim “Pennywise” Kaine will be any better.

“Ah, so I’m “deranged” now? What fun. And yes, I do harbor a faint hope that Trump will step aside…”

The last quoted sentence answers the first.

Yes Dear Fuzzy, it is derangement. Just an observation. The sufferers of Trump Derangement Symptom have been predicting and wishing and hoping and certain that this time…, since around November a year ago.

I am sorry that trump has harmed some of the delicate feelings in your group. However, to think, or hope, that Trump is going to drop out over a few vulgar words is, well, deranged.

Kasich won’t vote for T-rump. That could be the ballgame in Ohio, rat thar….

Don’t panic – not when the alternative is Hillary Clinton.

Wow.
This is truely amazing. Not what so much what Trump said but how quickly the haters are willing to jump all over and use it as a justification for their hate.

So now let us take a look at the clip. There are two aspects to what he said: the way he said it, and what he said.

Those objecting to the way he said it. Hmm. Names come to mind, Truman, Johnson, Nixon. Oh yes and Hillary. I don’t know if it is a standard technique anymore, but it used to be a technique of interviewing for jobs. Use such language and see what reaction you’ll get. It’s not the first time I’ve heard it, I doubt it will be the last. I pretty much don’t let it bother me and doubt many others do to. After all he wasn’t speaking in church and you know what, I doubt he’ll use such language in his State of the Union speeches.

As for what he said. That comes down to three parts. The first being the most disturbing, where he admits to pursuing a married woman. Men talking about pursuing women. Wow that’s a revelation. Let’s get to the heart of the matter. Pursuing a married woman.

I will grant it is troubling, but let us compare. In the clip, he speaks in a jocular regretful manner. He accepted no as an answer, unlike some politicians do not accept no for an answer. We also don’t know if he was married at the time the pursuit happened. We know that at the time he talked about it, he was recently married. It is highly unlikely that the pursuit happened after he was married. Surprisingly, no one has identified the woman. A woman he took furniture shopping, and later got breast implants. I wonder why?

In the second part, he talks about how he lost respect for this woman later when she got “fake tits”. I think men here won’t be surprise to find that many men find them unappealing, and women who use them for purely aesthetic reasons as shallow. Guess what ladies, we do. From what I hear most women’s judgments are even more critical.

In the third part he expresses surprise at what women allow men to do once the men are famous. No surprise there. His observation is one that any rock star or athlete will tell you. Even the ones that are in stable faithful marriages. I don’t know what the athletes call them, but rock stars call them groupies. Grand Funk Railroad sang about them. So did Karen Carpenter.

Richard Feynman, Nobel laureate and savior of the Space Shuttle program talked about it extensively in his biography “Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman.” He goes so far as to even try out a ( successful ) experiment to see if “good girls” exchange sex for favors.

None of this qualifies him for Pope, but none of it reveals anything that we didn’t know about him already. Nor does it reveal anything that is more distasteful then politicians past and present.

One final thought. Watch the new polls come out with Trump falling fast. This as the number of Democrats in said polls jumps from 11% more than Republicans to 30% more.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to Henry Hawkins. | October 8, 2016 at 2:45 pm

If past performance is any indication, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. I don’t see him as being able to meet the challenges. Moreover, the general electorate is being met with such images and emotion that their perceptions can only be negative.

Now, we can argue about what we think they should or should not do, or how they ought to view these matters. However, for millions of them, they are going to get only snippets which they are not going to take hours and hours to evaluate. Simply, I would imagine that Trump is not tolerable for them and is, perhaps, viewed as less likeable than Hillary.

And, make no mistake about this. I do hope Trump proves me wrong. However, I have my strong doubts.

They were very strategic in the use and timing of this. But if she brings it up tomorrow: “If I were your husband, you’d still be defending me.”

Of course, it won’t matter as the fix has always been in. You knew they’d find just the right torpedo, no doubt found it long ago. The only question was when it would be deployed. Now we know.

My disgust for the Donald is matched only by my disgust for the torpedo-shielding Hillary media.

    We are all so effed.

I’m no fan of these “hot mic” moments since its seems to me like its going to lead to hidden microphones attached to every lamp. That said, To say that “Trump said it but Bill Clinton did it” ignores that Trump is bragging that this is in fact what he did and also overlooks that by the end of Bill Clinton’s second term, many people were pretty disgusted with his behavior and just split on whether impeachment was warranted.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was able to overcome his similar quotes / antics in the “pumping iron” documentary and go on and win the California governor’s race, so I think its a little early to write Trump off just due to this one incident. But it is hard to make the “young and foolish” argument about stuff that happened when you were 60 or so, and once a pattern of behavior is established in the voters minds its nearly impossible to shake.

If only this video has been released a year earlier we could have had a Cruz & Pence ticket. Think what we could have accomplished with those two as Pres and VP…instead we have to rely on a man like Trump to save us from Hillary.

The alpha male bragging about supposed encounters with women and what he imagines he grabs in these supposed encounters is not disqualifying.

He’s disqualified from being president because he was trying to impress Billy Bush with his alpha male schtick.

Beta male Billy Bush. Seriously?

OMG!
It’s over!
As new revelation has urtterly disgraced Trump!
Yes. It’s him grabbing p***y.

Well, he would know…

Another of the traps Der Donald could fall into is the fact that he very publicly defended Dollar Bill Clinton during the Lewinsky affair, and advised him not to apologize.

A term to keep in mind over the weekend…

preference cascade.

“Elected representatives who think they’ve threaded the needle between supporting Donald Trump and preserving their political brands (to say nothing of their essential humanity) are wildly wrong about their political futures. The formulation of “I support the Republican nominee, but…” isn’t going to save you from the forces on the left, or the new Trump GOP.

With five weeks to go, most of you are locked in a state of denial while Trump tears your party down around your ears. Friday afternoon should be a perfect example. The Party of Lincoln is defending the candidate of “grab them by the pussy” as it plunges toward political peril unlike anything we’ve seen before.”

Read the whole thing.

That may be a little brutal, but I think it has merit.

Flee!!! Flee while you CAN…!!!

For 80 years, the Deseret News has not entered into the troubled waters of presidential endorsement. We are neutral on matters of partisan politics. We do, however, feel a duty to speak clearly on issues that affect the well-being and morals of the nation.

Accordingly, today we call on Donald Trump to step down from his pursuit of the American presidency.

In democratic elections, ideas have consequences, leadership matters and character counts.

That won’t be the last.

I’m available to replace Trump if anyone is interested.

I’d vote for you, Hawkins. IF you could get past that whole wild night with the goats thing…

“Animal husbandry” is not what it means in the holler…

Well, okay. But, here’s the thing. Unless “Henry Hawkins” is a pen name and you actually are a celeb with wide, wide positive public recognition, I’d stay, “Don’t quit your day job!” Otherwise, Pence/Hawkins would be fine by me.

People losing their minds over what Donald Trump “said” in comparison to what Hillary Clinton “did”. No wonder this country is turning into a banana republic, you people are brain dead. Tell me when Trump says something mean/sexist enough to kill 4 Americans then I won’t vote for him. SMH.

Henry Hawkins in reply to scaulen. | October 8, 2016 at 7:05 pm

This has nothing to do with Clinton. The comparison is not between Trump and Clinton. The problem is Trump supporters who can live with this further evidence that Trump is an immature adult and those who cannot live with it.

Reread what you are saying – that you’ll back Trump right up until he matches Clinton’s skankiness. We’re brain dead? Yikes….

I’m not sure what I find more ludicrous.

The fact that people imagine guys don’t talk to each other in private, about women, like this?

The fact that people don’t understand that guys with tons of charisma, fame, power and/or money practically have women fall in their lap, willing to do damn near anything?

The fact that people are using a private conversation from a man who’s exes still admire, support, and praise him, who hires more women, and treats/pays them better than the “women’s” candidate, as proof that he has nothing else of substance to his personality? I wonder what we could get off of private recordings of Bill Clinton on his trips with providers of underage prostitutes….

The breathless pearl-clutching ? Do any of these men jumping on the disavowal bandwagon actually KNOW women, and how THEY talk to each other?

Seriously, have any of these people even put two brain cells together to figure out why “50 shades” is so popular?

Or are they just all lying hypocrites?

A gaffe, after all, is when someone accidentally tells the truth.

Yes Henry Hawkins brain-dead. It’s all utter PC bullshito and you know it and so does every one else. We can keep going down the faux outrage like the liberals want, playing that game until extinction or we can go back to free speech and no longer having to look out for fear of offending someone. If you wish to bring back puritanical New England as a political entity then go right ahead enjoy the buckled boots and being controlled by the church. This is how a large portion of Americans speak among their friends and almost the whole enlisted military. But no really, keep playing liberal distraction games you sock puppet.

I believe it was during the Clinton administration we found out that “personal lives are personal” or some such thing.

So that applies to Trump in this instance.

Of course, Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, not for getting “sumtin'” in the Oval Office with an intern. You know, things that would send a non-political person to jail if they were the employer.

And more and more information comes forward about how Hillary covered, via a variety of ways, for Bill. Including intimidation.

Trump’s words are just an “eh…whatever”. So 2005.
