On the cusp of a historic sell-out of Israel

On the cusp of a historic sell-out of Israel

We are on the cusp of the most historic sell-out of Israel by any United States administration.

We told you all along that in his second term Obama would impose a settlement on Israel according to what he viewed as reasonable:

Obama will force his vision of a settlement on Israel in a second term.

Obama envisions a return to the 1949 Armistice line (aka the pre-1967 borders) perhaps with very minor adjustments. As David Horwitz of The Times of Israel wrote just before Obama’s second inauguration:

Broadly speaking, Obama’s course is set. He has nobody and nothing but his own worldview to answer to. And he reckons it has served him pretty well thus far. This week’s suggestions that Obama is convinced he understands far better than Netanyahu where Israel’s interests lie are nothing new; he has always been convinced he understands far better than Netanyahu where Israel’s interests lie — and that few of them are to be found beyond the pre-1967 lines.

And that is coming true right before our eyes.

John Kerry has openly sided with the Palestinians on key final agreement points:  That Israel controlling any land beyond the 1949 Armistice line is “illegitimate” and land that eventually will be part of a Palestinian state, and that there must be not a single Israeli soldier left anywhere on the West Bank.

This means the historic Jewish Quarter of Old Jerusalem and the Western Wall become part of a Palestinian state, the illegal Jordanian occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem becomes memorialized, Israel reverts to the “Auschwitz borders,” Judea and Samaria become Judenfrei, and defensible positions including in the Jordan Valley are lost.

Kerry stakes out this result as the American position, but it is not the final Palestinian position.  This never has been just about land, but about the refusal to this day to accept the Jewish State of Israel (the acceptance of Islamic States, of course, is a given.)

Israel is furious, but there’s little it can do. It is dependent upon the United States not so much for military protectionm, but for protestion against the multi-decade push to delegitimize Israel.

Kerry knew exactly what he was doing when he threatened Israel with further international isolation — Kerry dangled the sword of allowing the Israel-haters at the U.N. to get their way.  It is not the first time the Obama administration has held it’s U.N. Security Council veto power over Israel’s head.

As I wrote just before the 2008 election, warning of the danger Obama posed to Israel:

There is only one person in the world who can destroy Israel. That person is not the leader of Syria or Iran, or the head of some terrorist group. The only person who can destroy Israel is the President of the United States, whose decisions in times of crisis affect Israel’s survival.

That person now also is moving swiftly to strike a deal that allows Iran to continue its nuclear program while easing sanctions that actually are working. Predictably, the false dichotomy of war versus bad agreement will be raised. In fact, staying the course on Iranian sanctions until Iran agrees to halt its nuclear enrichment program completely is attainable.

Yet Kerry bolted for Geneva, after publicly attacking Israel, to try to finalize a bad deal.  It’s not a done deal yet, but it’s getting close.

We’re now learning that the easing of sanctions on Iran has been going on for months in secret, Exclusive: Obama’s Secret Iran Détente:

The Obama administration began softening sanctions on Iran after the election of Iran’s new president in June, months before the current round of nuclear talks in Geneva or the historic phone call between the two leaders in September.

While those negotiations now appear on the verge of a breakthrough the key condition for Iran—relief from crippling sanctions—began quietly and modestly five months ago.

A review of Treasury Department notices reveals that the U.S. government has all but stopped the financial blacklisting of entities and people that help Iran evade international sanctions since the election of its president, Hassan Rouhani, in June.

Israel feels betrayed, as it should (via Weekly Standard):

“I met Secretary Kerry right before he leaves to Geneva,” said Netanyhau. “I reminded him that he said that no deal is better than a bad deal. That the deal that is being discussed in Geneva right now is a bad deal. It’s a very bad deal. Iran is not required to take apart even one centrifuge. But the international community is relieving sanctions on Iran for the first time after many years. Iran gets everything that it wanted at this stage and it pays nothing. And this is when Iran is under severe pressure. I urge Secretary Kerry not to rush to sign, to wait, to reconsider, to get a good deal. But this is a bad deal–a very, very bad deal. It’s the deal of a century for Iran; it’s a very dangerous and bad deal for peace and the international community.”

Meanwhile, Iran reminds us what is at stake.

Obama hates America and he hates Israel.
He has been taught to do so since the day he was born.
He will see them changed to suit his vision or he will see them burn.

Oh, hell.

Kerry is involved in an INTERNATIONAL sell-out.

Selling Israel out is bad enough. He’s busily selling the U.S. out, too!

There’s an old concept in “international law” (sorry, I don’t know the Latin) that to the victor belong the spoils.

How Israel, having defended itself in four wars and two intifadas, can be in the position of being ordered not just to give back everything it has won but give over the Paleos parts of the country that the western world regards as Israel proper (1949 borders) is mind-boggling.

It’s almost as if the elite progressive elements of the world hates the Jews or something. That can’t be it.

Prof. Jacobson is exactly right; the big stick here is the threat of de-legimitatization. Champ and Jahwn will stand back and let the BDS folks have their way. Israel might not worry too much about a third intifada, having learned a thing or two in the first two intifadas about how to beat them. But the BDS movement imperils the trade, finance and (most importantly) standing of the state itself.

A recent news item suggests that at least some Israelis won’t tolerate this change in course in the US position: the Likud movement has some prominent leaders openly suggesting that Israel should formally incorporate the West Bank (Judaea and Samaria) and either expel the Paleos or limit their rights. That this would be used by the BDS folks as proof of Israeli perfidy is of less concern given that the choice otherwise is surrendering Israeli sovereignty.

So an American move to pressure Israel by threatening to unleash the hounds of the BDS movement and thereby question the sovereignty of Israel may actually lead to the result opposite of what Champ and Jahwn want: rather than concede and retreat into a shrunken state, Israel may choose to solidify its hold on the West Bank and thereby disenfranchise the Paleos.

Do we have no one in State, DoD or the national security office who has thought this through and counseled our president?

Israel helped herself into that position by foolishly giving back land and murderers for “peace”.

Exiliado in reply to stevewhitemd. | November 8, 2013 at 11:42 am

Our Supreme Leader needs no advice or counsel.
His Excellence has been anointed with powers like Infalibility and Instant Infinite Wisdom.
It’s too complicated for you simple citizens. Obey and accept in silence. It’s the new order. Didn’t you know that?

So, Israel is going to give Obama the means to help the Muslims commit germicide against Jews out of fear of “delegitimization”. What the hell does that mean anyway? Nobody will trade or do business with Israel, fly to Israel, allow Israeli planes to land and just generally starve Jews to death so they will consent to being slaughtered by Muslims?

What a bunch of wusses! After suffering decades of terrorism, despite having given land for “peace”, Israel is too scared of the world body to choose life instead of “peace”. Incredible.

Israel needs to tell the USA and the UN to bugger off. Moreover, instead of giving up land, they should initiate a massive and sweeping land reclamation which involves retaking all the land foolishly given for “peace”.

Hell, if the world is going to condemn Israel by saying that Israel has no right to exist, then she might as well be hanged for a sheep as a goat.

Given the prolific inventiveness of Israelis, I sure would like to see what happens when the world stops using all products invented by Jews. Dare them to deligitimize. Obama doesn’t have the support of the majority of Americans on this. Dare them.

Israel will ultimately have to realize its destiny is a Jewish destiny, its historical trajectory one of ingathering of Jewish exiles, its future pre-ordained by God. The State of Israel does not live and fall on a Washington, DC whim.

The day Israel proclaims , “We are Jews and God decides our fate” is the day Israel will be freed of US and European shackles and do that which is best for Israel. On that day the arabs will need to decide whether to live peacefully or die.

The difficulty is the large segment of Jews in Israel who profess an anti-religious outlook. They are the ones who are enslaving Israel to American whims and policies detrimental to their State’s health and well-being.

Too many Jews believe the only heart of Judiasm beats in NYC.

Juba Doobai! in reply to mackykam. | November 8, 2013 at 6:44 pm

That is the paradox of the anti-religious: proclaiming themselves Jews, just because mom was called a Jew, while rejecting the faith relationship that makes one a Jew.

Israel has no choice but to say no. Perhaps Israel should take out full-page ads in the NYTimes setting forth its position. Call the U.S. bluff and see what happens if this administration attempts to ramp up more overtly against Israel. I think there would be hell to pay. Many Jews in this country however unthinkingly Democrat also are adamently pro-Israel.

“Israel has no choice but to say no.”

And, it’s almost like it’s being forced to be “unreasonable” – isn’t it?

Had the Palestinians & combined Arab forces won, in any of the wars they started – does ANYONE really believe that with Israel pushed into the sea that we’d be talking to the Palis or the Arabs about “reasonable concessions” to have them give up land for the Jews?

If anyone can screw up on such a big stage, it is Obama & Kerry. I suspect Bibi Netanyahu is about to pull some sort of Putin job on Obama, make him look foolish. Israel has seen this coming for many years and has a contingency plan.

It’s beyond depressing. Aside from the implications to Israel, why should any nation at this point want to be our ally?

Pushing the Diplomacy Health Reset Button: SmartCare’s Got You Covered

Obama & Co. cancel Israel’s catastrophic insurance plan and replace it with a high-premium, high-deductible, comprehensive plan including dubious peace-process maternity coverage and mental health services for dealing with the “international community.”

If you think America’s healthy, jobless youth should feel screwed for being summoned to subsidize everyone else, how must a country feel to be called upon to subsidize the appeasement of a regime that strives to nuke it?

Hey, the Jooooz support Obama. By an overwhelming margin. Just look at the voting records. Just ask J Street. Or the Jews in Hollywood. Or the Pritzkers. Or…ad nauseum.

Give ’em their abortions and SSM, and to hell with Israel.

I speak with disgust, as a retired pulpit rabbi.

Unfortunately too many American Jews couldn’t care less about Israel or believe the lies told to them by others.

Israel is too independent for Marxists’ taste.

Abortion and sexual promiscuity are key factors in the problems the US is facing because of Obama and Co.

When a nation violates G-D’s Commandments it loses G-D’s protection and is taken captive by its enemies. This spiritual principle is illustrated throughout the Bible.

It’s looking more and more like Islam’s destruction of the WTC was a victory statement rather than an initiation of war.

The new #1 WTC has a @#$%&* minaret on top.

Uncle Samuel in reply to Uncle Samuel. | November 9, 2013 at 4:11 am

Meant to write: Abortion and sexual promiscuity are key factors in the problems the US *and Israel are* facing because of Obama and Co.

One third of all US aid goes to Israel and Egypt, mostly for armaments.

What concerns me most about this statement is that any country, or state, such as Illinois or Ohio or any individual who receives money from GOV’T is compromised and therefore must play ball GOV’T’S way or else.

Financial independence is a major factor in gaining the freedom from tyranny’s aggression most of us desire.

Iran Mullahs have found a more horrific way to destroy Israel than nukes – they’ll force OBOZOCARE on it.

It looks like even Hillary couldn’t swallow delivering this stab in the back. (not if she wanted to get elected to anything in the Democrat party ever again).

So Obama looked around for some stooge that he could sock puppet into doing this little hatchet job.

Some has-been-never-was, eager beaver who’d sell his mother for a little more face time and who’s always toed the Liberal Progressive line and been willing to lie to promote himself.

Plus he comes with sock puppet controls (thanks to Teddy Kennedy. Still dead by the way) already installed.

And we sit here with the Weeping Boehner as our only bulwark against a Muslim poseur in the White House.

Weep oh Israel for we are powerless to stop this murderer.

Uncle Samuel in reply to jakee308. | November 9, 2013 at 4:18 am

Repentance is the price of power to defeat Islam. We (Israel and the US) now have laws that enable us to break all of G-D’s Commandments…and Obama, with the help of his judicial puppets, is forging (unconstitutional) laws that would force us to do so.

Uncle Samuel in reply to Uncle Samuel. | November 9, 2013 at 4:20 am

Repentance is the only way to defeat evil.

Only G-D has the power to defeat Islam – Assyria/Babylon/Egypt/Persia/Philistines/Caananites/Islam – the earthly powers that operate by Satan’s rules and power.

Disgusting.

But deals of this sort aren’t reached overnight. Hillary had to be in on it.

Perhaps, if nothing else good can come of it, this craven betrayal will sink her chances.

With 2014 on the horizon, the Congress will want a say in this. A big say. This will be fought, and in a bipartisan manner.

WHITE HOUSE STANDS BY ALLEGED ANTI-NUKE FATWA IN IRAN

President Obama’s claim that Iran is disposed toward ending its
nuclear standoff because of a legal pronouncement by its leader may be a
hoax, according to a Middle East research group.

Some critics warn that Iran’s offer to hold talks over its nuclear program is a ruse, to stall for time while it finishes up the fuel enrichment process for
an atomic bomb. Others say Iran is also hoping to halt attempts by
Congress to strengthen U.S. economic sanctions.

But President Obama welcomed Iranian President Hasan Rouhani’s promise not to seek nuclear weapons and told reporters the negotiation offer was worth
pursuing.

“I do believe that there is a basis for a resolution (because) Iran’s supreme leader has issued a fatwa against the development of nuclear weapons,” Obama told reporters.

But a Washington-based Middle East research group says there is no evidence such an edict exists.

“An exhaustive search of the various official websites of Iranian Supreme
Leader Ali Khamenei turned up no such fatwa, either on his fatwa website
or on his personal website,” according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, which tracks and translates news and official reports from the region.

MEMRI says the fatwa was first mentioned by Sirius Naseri, an Iranian representative to a meeting of the U.N.’s nuclear agency in 2005. It was later mentioned in 2012, in an opinion piece in The Washington Post by Iran’s then-foreign minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, and in Iran’s Mehr news agency by the head of Iran’s judiciary, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani.

But MEMRI says it appears the Iranians were not telling the truth, according to its president, Yigal Carmon.

“It’s a whole campaign,” Carmon said. “They cannot deliver anything real, so
they deliver a story about the fatwa but they don’t really have it.”

Caitlin Hayden, spokeswoman for Obama’s National Security Council, said the
president’s comment stands. When asked why the White House believes the
fatwa exists, Hayden declined to comment…

Sell-out of Israel, sure.

It’s also the road to ensuring a nuclear terrorist attack on an American city.

It won’t be long before pressure-cookers in Islamic terrorist backpacks contain more than plastic explosives.

Note Kerry’s green tie. Hillary also wears green as a sign to the Islamists when she stabs Israel in the back.

I love and deeply respect Bibi. He’s gone from enjoying a relationship with a president who was Israel’s greatest friend to a non-relationship with a moral pygmy of a faux president.

President George W.Bush: You, Sir, are missed MORE every day of this loathsome administration.
