New MTV series about sperm donor kids “redefining family”

New MTV series about sperm donor kids “redefining family”

Last year at liberal conference Netroots, Darcy Burner, the woman who introduced Elizabeth Warren, reminded the audience of the cultural power the left has at its fingertips. She said to the audience (start at 16:50):

That is cultural change. Because television has given us — now everyone has a gay best friend whether they actually do or not. We’ve changed the stories in people’s heads, and that has changed what is possible.

Burner’s quote came to mind this morning when i read the headline about MTV’s latest television series, “Generation Cryo,” which depicts the lives of a series of children fathered by the same sperm donor as they try to locate him. A post about the series on MTV’s website says:

“Cryo” is a look at the issues faced by a new generation of kids coming of age who were conceived via anonymous sperm donors and are redefining what it means to be a family.

Rather than cater to the younger demographics the network purports to serve, MTV does them the ultimate disservice by redefining and undermining those institutions that will serve them best. Meanwhile, Darcy Burner’s stated goal, to harness cultural power, marches on.

Cryo is one of three new series the network is planning.

On a post related to Elizabeth Warren, I had a rather long comment referencing my daughter’s graduation from college last year. Though I was – and still am- quite proud of her, there was no doubt I was also fearful her graduation came during the worst job market I have witnessed in my lifetime. Fortunately she did get a job but she and many of her fellow graduates saw far fewer opportunities than they might have had they graduated at any other time.

There was, however, one opportunity they were overwhelmingly presented with during college and upon graduation, to sell their eggs and sperm. In one of our many discussions tracking what she and fellow students were doing in their job searches, my daughter told me a few friends sold their eggs ($20,000!!) and were riding out the job search. Needless to say we had a looooooong talk about the implications of this decision.

I have no grand ideas MTV’s series will be anything more than you suggest Anne, another degradation of the family institution. At least, it may connect in these young people’s minds that people come from the sale of your reproductive matter. From conversations with my daughter, I don’t think any of those who choose this route make that connection. How scary is that?

TV has created familial and cultural decimation.

They would like to redefine the terms and circumstances of reality. It will likely fail, as have their other experiments. Their redistributive change economic model marginalizes individual dignity, causes dissociation of risk, and thereby sponsors progressive corruption. Their promise to fulfill dreams of material, physical, and ego instant (or immediate) gratification is incompatible with both the real and redefined reality. Their environmental campaigns operate on the principle of “out-of-sight and out-of-mind”, which manufacture frames of positive progress, at the expense of other people’s “backyard.” The advocate for policies which perpetuate institutional discrimination against the individual.

They have confused and distorted the purpose of dating.

They have confused and distorted the roles of each gender.

They have normalized behaviors which are dysfunctional, which have no redeeming value to either society or humanity.

The family, consisting of a father, a mother, and their children, is the first-level of social organization by virtue of the natural order.

It’s an experiment conducted with over 300 million people.

Forward… to dysfunctional convergence.

Communist Goals (1963)

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

Everything old is new again…

Tired, I am, that some refuse to believe we are in the midst of a marxist takeover–pointing instead to isolated bad public policy of happenstance.

These are the same ones that constantly mock the left for failing to identify the enemy-

Why do they keep saying “redefine family” when in reality they want absolutely no definition at all?

See Browndog’s comment. He hit the nail on the head.

They’re disrupting the natural social order to institute their own order.

The order is exemplified by their redistributive change economic model, where a minority consolidates capital and control, then redistributes to favor their interests. Since this model is established and enforced through monopolies, it is necessary to change the existing order to prevent disruption through democratic (i.e. coherent) leverage.

I am proud to say that my state’s voters have TWICE! refused to send Darcy Burner to Congress. She is a fool.
When she ran for Congress about 5 years ago in my Congressional district, she claimed to have an economics degree from Harvard. That was a lie. She lost to Dave Reichert in the general election (a man for whom I refuse to vote). So, she moved to another district and her own party wouldn’t even let her out of the primary. She was trounced.

Washington is a pretty liberal state, but they have the good sense to recognize – most of the time – an idiot when they see one. I am not at all surprised that she was embraced by the Netroots hive, though.
