Dr. Ben Carson withdraws as Hopkins commencement speaker

Too bad.

Via Baltimore Sun:

Neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson stepped down Wednesday as commencement speaker at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine after complaints from students about controversial comments concerning same-sex marriage.

The withdrawal came less than a week after medical school Dean Paul B. Rothman chastised Carson for his comments and met with graduating students concerned that the famed physician was an inappropriate commencement speaker.

Carson sent Rothman a letter saying that he didn’t want to “distract from the celebratory nature of the day.”

“Given all the national media surrounding my statements as to my belief in traditional marriage, I believe it would be in the best interest of the students for me to voluntarily withdraw as your commencement speaker this year,” he wrote in the letter to Rothman, which the dean shared with the Hopkins community….

In his most recent letter to Rothman, Carson said he hoped there would be more tolerance for views like his in the future.

“Someday in the future, it is my hope and prayer that the emphasis on political correctness will decrease and we will start emphasizing rational discussion of differences so we can actually resolve problems and chart a course that is inclusive of everyone,” he wrote.

Rothman last week had described Carson’s comments on same-sex marriage as “hurtful” and chastised him for using offensive language.

It really is too bad. I am glad he made the point about political correctness at least but sadly the left isn’t really interested in rational discussions. They are primarily concerned with shaming people into submitting to their pet agenda item of the day.

It’s hilarious really. He made so many great points about political correctness… They continue to prove he was completely right.

they don’t deserve him as a speaker

Dr. Carson is a prophet. Well, either that, or he has judged them by their character, and the character of their actions, and found them to be sanctimonious hypocrites.

The big picture: we are inching closer to the civil insurrection that Obama craves.

Haha don’t you worry. Americans will take care of the problem when the time comes. …

    remember
“Someone’s carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn’t even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.”

    the bullets are multiplying

The only controversy is that once we dispense with objective standards, including biological imperatives, and evolutionary fitness, is that homosexual activists, and their heterosexual patrons, continue to arbitrarily discriminate against any relationship, sexual or platonic; any union of form and kind; and any combination and composition. These people demonstrate a unique prejudice, which is typically attributed and formerly held by old Democrats.

The other controversy, of course, is that they continue to discriminate against people based on their age and stage of development. They capriciously and callously choose and support elective abortion of a developing human life when it is most vulnerable. When it lacks a voice to protest and Arms to challenge its premature termination. They do not support equal protection, and deprive another human being of life without cause and without due process.

These “decent” men and women, who purport to support human and civil rights, need to reject their dreams of material, physical, and ego instant gratification without responsibility and without consequence, and evaluate how and why they are part of the problem. In particular how the character of their actions sponsors a general devaluation of human life. They should to be at least consistent in their discrimination and prejudice. If not with objective standards, then perhaps with consistent standards.

Anyway, Forward to dysfunctional convergence.

I can only use movies to relate to your prediction, but I think we’re going to end up a combination of Idiocracy and Logan’s Run.

And I think we’re already 2/3 the way to Idiocracy.

An idiocracy is unlikely, because American wealth offers an incentive for invasion. Whether it is displacement or elective genocide, the idiots will not survive.

A Logan’s Run scenario is also unlikely. At least not for long. It would soon suffer from subversion from within due to integration of fraudulent elements. Both corruption and dysfunction are progressive and are inevitable outcomes of diversity.

Has any civilization ever escaped a convergence of dysfunctional behaviors? I only recall outcomes where there is an internal collapse or external invasion, which are facilitated or caused by internal corruption.

Here’s the word in America today: homosexuals are welcome. Conservatives are not.

Heterosexual childbearing is frowned upon as endangering the planet. Homosexual childbearing(?) is highly desired such that CA is willing to pay for fertility treatments for homosexuals, male and female (Good luck with that!)

NAMBLA is great. GLAAD is wonderful. The Boy Scouts of America are to be shunned.

We are looking at the Satyricon of I forget his name, eh, Petronius. We are looking at the destruction of society.

“Rothman last week had described Carson’s comments on same-sex marriage as “’hurtful’” and chastised him for using offensive language.”

Carson said nothing “hurtful” to anyone with a scintilla of integrity, and nobody had any business “chastising” (CENSORING) him for expressing his MAIN-FLUCKING-STREAM ideas on marriage.

People “hurt” by what he had to say want what they want, and they haven’t the respect for the rights of their opposition to even allow them to speak.

I’d love to see Dr. Carson rent a venue, and invite anyone from the graduating class to come and meet with him. If I were a graduating doc, that is damn sure where I’d be, in full expectation that I might actually get something out of my time.

I’m sure there was nothing that a class of medical students stood to learn from a groundbreaking neurosurgeon…

Idiots.

Scratch that. Racists. As long as we’re playing their game.

If Carson were a muslim or a big Obama donor, this would not be considered an issue.

Being a Biblically-minded Christian is not politically correct. Do note that the military and other groups are ‘getting the word’ from the Obama regime that Biblical Evangelical Christians are DANGEROUS and must be ‘watched.’

Beauty queens, bakers, pastors, teachers MAY NOT hold any belief or conviction that does not agree with the Obama regime or the ‘gay’ militant activists.

The (current) official Politically Correct position is that all things ‘gay’ are oh so good, despite the facts, evidence, reality in (honest)research, medicine, CDC, police and coroner statistics that same-bi-sexuality is a high-risk activity and that this is an abnormal conditioned response, a symptom, and not the sign of a new ‘gender’ or ‘orientation’ as the activist propaganda claims.

The word from on high is “Thou Shalt Not Dissent” or else you may lose your job, honors, grades, awards, and soon, even your freedom.

Turns out PC really means Punitive Conformity.

Turns out C. S. Lewis (like Orwell) saw this coming:
For the wise men of old, the cardinal problem had been how to conform the soul to reality, and the solution had been knowledge, self-discipline, and virtue. For magic and applied science alike, the problem is how to subdue reality to the wishes of men: the solution is a technique; and both, in the practice of this technique, are ready to do things hitherto regarded as disgusting and impious…”

Applied Science in academia and the APA groups has become ‘political science’ or politicized science. The latest is the APA has taken ‘Gender Identity Disorder’ off their list of pathologies in the new DSM-5. Now, one’s perception of one’s ‘gender’ is one’s ‘gender’ or ‘orientation’.

From now on, (these fools have decided) our ‘gender’ can change through life or according to one’s mood or preference. Unless of course, you ever once say you are one of the currently sacrosanct LBGTQ ‘orientations’ and in that case, you can never change back.

There is no consistency or logic to the PC mind-set. And there is no reasoning or debating with them either.

“Someday in the future, it is my hope and prayer that the emphasis on political correctness will decrease and we will start emphasizing rational discussion of differences so we can actually resolve problems and chart a course that is inclusive of everyone,” he wrote.

Not if people with your influence continue caving to pressure, it won’t.

Rothman calling Dr. Carson “hurtful” – isn’t that being racist according to MSNBC standards? SPLC, did you hear Rothman’s “hate speech” directed at a black man?

The good thing is that the students know very well what they are rejecting: the light and the truth. I’m sure Dr. Carson knows this and does not feel the need to vindicate himself. God does this for believers and He is so much better at doing this than we are ourselves.

The bad thing is that same-sex bullies are still demanding and receiving obedience to their narcissism.

Hopefully John Hopkins won’t be looking for Dr. Carson to mentor any of their students.

When Obama called Christians and believers in second amendment rights … “bitter clingers”, it was hurtful to the people that are the foundation of what makes America great.

Obama should withdraw.

AAARRRGGGHHHHH…..The downfall of America is happening much too fast for me. Decent people can’t speak, because they “hurt” someones feelings, but yet it’s great when an Ahmadinejad speaks at Columbia. The world is upside down, and I just don’t understand it anymore!

People won’t think for themselves so they behave like dead fish, go with the flow. Rebels against group think find the world of group think extremely difficult to understand.

And these are the future doctors who will ask patients about whether they own firearms and decide whether to notify NICS that the patients have a psychological disorder that disqualifies them from gun ownership.

I have no doubt that many of them would think opposition to homosexual marriage is just such a disorder.

You simply CANNOT make this S**t Up!!

The Collegiate Thought Police can’t have the simple truth stated, by Gawd!!
