American hero Chris Kyle laid to rest

Former Navy Seal Chris Kyle, who was killed at a Texas gun range on February 8, was laid to rest Tuesday at the Texas State Cemetery. On Monday, 7,000 people attended a memorial service in his honor at the Cowboys Stadium.

Many people are saying Kyle was the deadliest sniper in history, and he was known as “the legend” to his friends, and the “Devil of Ramadi” to his (and our) enemies. He was the author of the book, “American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in US Military History.”

Kyle and his family have given so much for our country, as have so many other heroes before them; and yet, President Obama failed to mention him in his State of the Union last night, the same day as his funeral.

Sarah Palin, however, recognized his sacrifice on the morning of the memorial service, which she attended with her husband:

“I think it’s very important to be here today to honor Chris and all those warriors who sacrifice so much. We’ll never know to what extent Chris went to keep us all safe, in his bravery in the line of fire, and just to be able to make a little bit of effort ot be here showing our support for Chris, his family, and for the entire military family, that’s full of good guys. We want to thank them so much for all that they do. Especially the families that sacrifice so much and are supporting our men and women in the military.

“You know I’ve said before that that patriotism is the bedrock, the foundation of America. And we’ve got to keep that going….”

RIP Chris.

Obama is not fit to utter the name, Chris Kyle.

Somehow, I think he should have been buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

But again, why bury him in the DC area, where the Federal government lives and spends like King Louis XVI, when he can be given a total Patriot’s eternal embrace here in TX?

i stood up, grabbed the braces/can, went to attn and saluted.
and thanked him.

Here’s another video of the procession – that shows a large group of soldiers saluting and two cranes holding a huge American flag.

Awesome.

There are several videos of the funeral at Youtube. Two longtime friends gave wonderful touching eulogies…and one of the SEALS read their creed.

My question, to you all, and to myself, will we remember Chris Kyle in 10 years? Can anyone here still name the four who died in Benghazi of the top of their heads without looking it up in wiki? (Chritopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods). Or does anyone still remember Daniel Pearl on their own, without a reminder?

I pray that we remember all these people, and remember who our enemies, foreign AND domestic, are and how we need to be constantly vigilant in the defense of freedom. Because, freedom is not free.

    J. Christopher Stevens* (I hate typos, professor, but I’m glad you don’t have an edit feature. But maybe a reminder to proof-read before posting would be nice! 🙂 )

seeing as I have fibromyalgia which causes lots of memory issue I cannot say.
but I always try, and I recognize trends better then most so I can often regain the memory fast.
    but I try.
like most disabled vets some things hit harder than others, and this one hit me hard.

Yes I was reading Daniel Pearl on Wiki just yesterday .

I thought I would have a look at the history of Jewish persons in Pakistan & Daniel came up under the search terms – Pakistan + Jewish.

As the inscriptions on pathology morgues say – Let the living learn from the dead – so Daniel embodies the history of Jews in Pakistan.

Name a US Naval Vessel in Honor of US Navy Seal #ChrisKyle #FinalFarewell Please sign this petition & RT http://t.co/6mG9AN2i

RIP and thank you. I can’t imagine what’s it’s like for his family.

They should name a Navy vessel after him…he died a hero, died helping another soldier to heal.

That was the context of his childhood friends’ eulogies. He had defended one of his friends against bullies. He had always been a good, caring friend.

Sarah Palin, a true American Patriot, and what a LEADER should sound like. God Bless Chris Kyle and his family. I will never forget the sacrifices he and his family gave to our country.

I guess when people say “sniper,” Soft America (in which I’m fully vested, I can assure you) thinks Lee Harvey Oswald or Charles Whitman in the Austin tower, and that makes us uncomfortable. But Sergeant York was a sniper, too.
