“We Own This Country”: Clint Eastwood Reloaded

“We Own This Country”: Clint Eastwood Reloaded

Badger Pundit has put together this video interspersing parts of Clint Eastwood’s speech at the RNC with the advertisement that ran during halftime of the Super Bowl.

I think it’s pretty effective.

“New Florida poll shows vindication of Eastwood Strategy”

Even Bill Maher is saying that Clint “nailed it.”

May I suggest that the coming conservative Hollywood use a lot of Morricone-esque and surf music in the background … they really give off a rugged individualistic vibe.

I am all in favor of Morricone’s giallo stuff playing in the background of attack ads.

Some of the tracks from Lizard in a Woman’s Skin, for example, would be a perfect match for the eternally duplicitous Pelosi or Warren.

    ANOTHER SUPERIOR POST LHC:

    To Clint:

    Star Bright,
    Star with Light
You filled my every wish last night,
For I had wished with all my might,
That what you said, WOULD SET US RIGHT!

Oh My.

I would cut out the Breitbart part at the end if it were my video. I think it would be more effective that way.

Why? The spirit that animates Clint Eastwood is the same as the one that animated Andrew Breitbart.

It’s the American Spirit of self-reliance, no self-pity, and a belief that our rights come from God.

To clarify, the Breitbart images aren’t unique to this video — I’ve included them on most of my videos, marking Breitbart’s key role as an inspiration for my work (and that of so many others).

To some degree, of course, including them may deter independents and progressives from viewing the videos. With that in mind, for this video I moved the title pages to the very end. Their function was never really to promote my channel, or Breitbart, but to identify the source of the video for those who download it, and to pay homage to Breitbart in some fashion. I’ll probably continue having them at the end of future videos. Thanks for the comment, which raised a valid point.

I knew exactly what you meant by putting Breitbart at the end of your video.

Don’t apologize for recognizing who inspires you – he inspires me, too.

Good job on the video. I like the way you blended the messages together.

That clip is the type of stuff that can create an army.

The race is looking better than I expected it to at this point, but Obama retains the advantages of incumbency (and the edge at Intrade). Consumer confidence has improved recently.

IMO Romney must be bold in order to win: bold than his advisers, but not reckless. The Ryan pick and the Eastwood appearance meet that criterion, as does the tour of Louisiana.

If Romney keeps to this campaign style, he has a good shot at prevailing.

BE OF GOOD CHEER: R&R ARE WINNING BIG.

“The Demo Rats Gather for Payoff Convention”

Let us shout, Hallelujah, “THE WON’S” comin’ to town
    Our convention’s about to begin.
So put on “happy faces”; turn your frowns upside down,
And pretend FEARLESS LEADER will win!

We have done all we could to keep hidden the truth–
CORRUPT MEDIA was our whore from the start.
‘Tho its influence is dying; and its concept of “proof”,
Makes the worst of “Three Stooges” look smart.

But, we’ll muddle along; “It’s all part of the show!”
Doesn’t Barry look, “So sweet these days”?
“His ears never looked better, and his golf scores, you know,
Are deserving of the public’s best praise!

Our elites will be here; pray the rabble won’t swoon,
By the “great ones’ impossible glow!
Presidenta Jarrett will command the whole room,
Even Godfather Rahm plans to show!

We will bravely ignore those unflattering facts,
Which our Media Whores carefully shroud–
So many of the “faithful” shall be missing “all acts”—
They will lose if they’re seen in our crowd!

Make the Kool-Aid more potent; share the graft all around!
We can spend like we’re “Kings for a Day”!
So what if we lose; when THE WON’S lost His crown,
We’ve got BILLIONS safe hidden away!

DERIDE; MOCK; LAUGH AT THEM—YOU’RE PAYING FOR THEIR PARTY.
    R & R WIN BIG IN NOVEMBER.
No rights reserved – copy; send; improvise; share the fun!

Being the cock-eyed optimist I am, perhaps this is too sunny, but…

the morning after the election, if Obama is turned out, there will be a PALPABLE sense of return and change…

which will lead to hope, and investment, and MORE change…

which will lead to greater hope and optimism.

There is HUGE pent-up demand in our nation…for lots of things, and REFORM is one of them. The trick for us will be channeling that demand in the right ways.

I think it’s a great mash-up, and I love the Breitbart imagery at the end. It belongs.

About that image – someone (and I hope ya’ll know who I’m talking about) stepped up at the exact moment it was needed and created it. And the guy did so while giving it away, exemplifying how much can get done if you don’t care who gets credit.

Big Fur Hat at IOwntheWorld.com created the image of Breitbart,

      DingDingDing! We have a winnah!

Seriously – it’s not the only note-worthy (or notorious) thing BFH has done, but it’s got to be in the top ten. He did an absolutely outstanding thing there.

WOW!! That has to be played on every TV venue and on whatever internet there is. That is the most effective spot I have seen!

[…] Insurrection’s Professor Jacobson has two related pieces today: “We Own This Country”: Clint Eastwood Reloaded (with a superb video) and the fact today’s Romney-Ryan event in Florida is packed. Given the tepid, pathetic […]

I was never offended by the Halt Time in America ad. Isn’t half time when the glitzy aging, nipple exposing, crotch grabbing, over botoxed prancing pony of an aging pop star takes the stage? I thought it was a great metaphor for the Obama administration. Looks like half time is almost over and the pop star realizes that his act is over produced, over exposed, and not what was promised.

It got me all misty eyed.

RR victory song should be INXS- Don’t Change.

Nice vid … I would have added a clip of the “Occupiers” in their “native environment” then Mr Eastwood coming out with his shotgun and stating “Get off my damn lawn”.

Well done, Badger! Keep the Breitbart.

The more the subconscious rumination of Clint’s “speech” goes on in my head, the more convinced I become it was a phenomenal performance, delivered exactly as he intended. Initial bemusement has become profound admiration. I now agree with what a commenter elsewhere said – the first clue was the mussed hair. What a guy.

Thankfully the political left has consistently underestimate the resiliency of the American economic system and it’s political philosophy. This is the third time they will have failed to convert this nation to their utopia. Wilson, FDR and now Obama. Long may their failures continue.
