Spike Lee didn’t “Do the right thing”

Spike Lee didn’t “Do the right thing”

There have been numerous threats made against George Zimmerman, the shooter of Trayvon Martin.  It is unclear whether a crime was committed, and Zimmerman has not been charged.

Spike Lee’s most famous film was Do the Right Thing, about racial tensions which spill into violence:

Yet Lee did not do the right thing, and instead helped spread Zimmerman’s home address via Twitter by retweeting the address being spread by others. (image added)

What was the point of that, other than to incite violence and the type of vigilante justice of which Lee and others are accusing Zimmerman?  I think this Tweet has it right:

Zimmerman is married.  What happens when someone goes to the house and confronts his wife, relatives or neighbors?

How proud would Lee be then?

Update:  It gets even worse.  Lee retweeted the wrong address, so he might have sent people to confront a family which had nothing to do with the dispute.

Who would be responsible if someone killed Zimmerman? NO ONE!
Would the DOJ do anything before or after someone attacked Zimmerman? NO
WHat would Al Sharpton say? HOO RAY for black people.

You have it right, albeit not far enough. The deliberate goal of the Left, the professional racists, and the Democrats [I know, the redundancy is staggering] is to literally provoke racial violence to give a justification for government intrusions in a number of fields. If Zimmerman, his family, or his neighbors are attacked and harmed or killed, there will be no government response. If we have learned anything anything since November 2008; we surely have learned that crimes committed by blacks in support of the Left will not be prosecuted; and that frequently will have the perpetrators protected. q.v. the New Black Panther Party, which has the personal protection of the Attorney General and who has issued the “Wanted: Dead or Alive” posters for Zimmerman.

What the Left is after here is a defensive reaction by those attacked by the Left that it can turn into a national emergency.

OK, guys…let’s not get silly here.

Of course government would punish anyone who breaks the law. Maybe not the DOJ, but the DOJ is seldom involved, are they?

We have prisons full of criminals of all colors, do we not?

iconotastic in reply to Ragspierre. | March 25, 2012 at 2:08 pm

I do think that if Zimmerman is assaulted then Lee and others should be held responsible in some way for inciting that violence. Not that that will ever occur….

Ragspierre in reply to iconotastic. | March 25, 2012 at 2:22 pm

I agree. AND I think that has already started.

Zimmerman’s dad is a retired magistrate. You have to sort of figure he knows a few people…both civil and police types…who are ALREADY looking into the damage caused by Mr. Lee and the NBPP.

iconotastic in reply to Ragspierre. | March 25, 2012 at 3:10 pm

well, if I were setting the line on that in Vegas, I would probably make it 5:1 against. It is difficult to imagine the Sanford prosecutor actually filing these charges in the midst of all this. He is probably hiding under his desk right now….

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | March 25, 2012 at 3:24 pm

Is that fair to the guy? I mean, is that what you’d be doing? I like judging people by myself, but I get that not all folks do.

Besides, in Mr. Lee’s case, he isn’t just answerable in the Sanford jurisdiction.

All that “anti-bullying” cr@p down the proverbial toilet

You mean like the Holder DOJ did to the same NBPP when they were CONVICTED of voter intimidation?

      Sir, you are a fool.

The entire racist, race baiting industry, of which Obama is a key part, is out in force to turn this local incident into a national issue. Obama has done more to harm race relations than anyone would have imagined. I hope that many of those who voted for him in 2008 out of white guilt will have seen the light by this November.

Obama’s presidency has done nothing but created more racial division.

All Obama has left is to use race and racism to spook White American’s into giving him a second term for fear of being called bigots. That’s the nub of it. It’s why a minority needs to be Vice Presidential nominee – I hate admitting, but if the Republicans have two white guys on the ticket, the Democrats will say we’re afraid nominate a woman or a person of color.

I’m not afraid of being called a bigot. I didn’t vote for Obama in 2008 because I did not think he was experienced enough for the job. I won’t vote for him in 2012 because I have learned that he was indeed not experienced enough for the job, little different than other Chicago politicians, and lately seems to be, if not an actual race baiting politician, a singer in Sharpton’s and Jackson’s choir.

I may vote for a back person for President, but I’ll never vote for a Black liberal, and I’ll surely NEVER vote for a politician who came up through the Chicago political machine EVER!

      JackRussellTerrierist in reply to McCoy2k. | March 25, 2012 at 5:42 pm

I think the number of whites who give a rat’s patoot about being called a bigot are dwindling rapidly. I really don’t care what anybody calls me. I know the truth of what I see.

First, I find it amazing that the race-hustling interests in the US have managed to make this about race at all. It never was.

Second, I am appalled that any president would make the calculation to say what Obama did.

Third, I’m ready for America to say to EVERYBODY, “It is NOT OK to be a racist. Black, brown, white, yellow, red, you DO NOT have permission to use race for anything”.

It’s sad that the dismal state of the black family, which Senator Moynihan had the courage to talk about when the trajectories of dysfunction were first looking bad, is blamed on racism in this day and age.

A friend of mine, fresh out of grad school and completely idealistic, started teaching the third grade here in L.A. to black kids from broken homes.

On his own time, he called up the single mothers to discuss their kids’ problems and was always met with either of two responses:

1. Anger from the mother that he would “accuse” her child.

2. Indifference. The mentality that, “you’re the teacher, it’s your problem.

I remember him telling me how frustrating and sad it was that he could already see that these third graders had no future. He said he could already see the boys ending up as criminals.

He threw the towel in half way through the school year when he made the mistake of telling the kids he was Jewish. That news spread through the school and soon hordes of kids from other classes were yelling anti-Semitic insults at him all the time.

That’s why these kids have no future. It’s not because of imagined white racism.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to LukeHandCool. | March 25, 2012 at 5:52 pm

Blacks are their own worst enemy, to be sure, but as long as they’re brainwashed into believing they’re entitled to everything for free, they have no incentive to improve, no sense of personal responsibility. They have the culture and mentality of plantation farm animals, by and large. They want it that way, and as long as whitey keeps the jack coming, they’re all good with it.

If the school refused to discipline the kids about your Jewish teacher friend, he should have sued for hostile work environment. These lefties running the indoctrination camps need to be knocked down a whole lot of pegs. I know of a school district (large one) in which a memo came down about 2 years ago that no black kids will be suspended for any reason. Yep, that blatant. No kidding. Saw it myself.

Off topic:

Regarding the announcement about Cheney’s new heart, I can just imagine the lefties are having what they consider to be a hilarious field day with that bit of news.

One of the simultaneously classy and classless moments in politics for me was during the Cheney/Edwards debate when Edwards tried to use Cheney’s lesbian daughter against him.

Edwards offered phony praise about Cheney’s admirable relationship with his lesbian daughter, and, instead of taking the bait, Cheney just thanked him (and, I’m sure, held back from punching Edwards in the nose).

Get well soon, Mr. Vice President!

Professor, isn’t what Spike Lee is doing a CRIME?
Lawyers out there?

Aarradin in reply to Tamminator. | March 25, 2012 at 2:06 pm

If anything now does happen to Zimmerman or his family, can Spike Lee be prosecuted? What about civil litigation, could his family successfully sue?

Milhouse in reply to Tamminator. | March 26, 2012 at 3:36 am

No, of course it isn’t a crime. How could it be? Ever hear of the first amendment? He has every legal right to spread this true information, just as 0bama had every legal right to make his comments; and if something happens to someone because of it he will bear no legal liability, any more than 0bama will.

Morally is a different matter. There is no legitimate reason why Lee needed to tell everyone where Zimmerman lives, and it will be his fault if someone uses that information to harm someone. And it will be 0bama’s fault if someone is fired up to do something because of his comments. But legally they’re both protected by the first amendment.

“How proud would Lee be then?”

Very proud, I’d guess. 🙁

The root here may be that Obama is a sold out believer in Prof. Bell and Jeremiah Wright philosophy/theology. Obama has said he does not think reparations go far enough. His church praised Farrakhan.

Our President learned nothing new in HIS teachable moment, when he claimed the Cambridge police acted stupidly, seconds after saying he did not have the evidence. His beer summit accomplished what?

He has done the same thing here, claiming all America needs to do some soul searching. He doesn’t know the facts, but We the collective (America, but not the blacks so much) have guilt, apparent if we would only acquiesce to his lightworker insight. We need to open our hearts and minds to the black theology of Wright and Bell. Come on down to the alter … search your soul. Obama is an evangelical.

Obama may get by with a little help from his friends … the new Black Panthers, Spike Lee, major media, Bernanke, Valerie Jarret, etc. Or he could/should lose in a landslide.

WHAT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND is that racism works BOTH WAYS. Sin is sin. Bigotry is bigotry.

Islam also has a heap, a HEAP of ugly Chickens that will come home to roost.

In other news – “Wisconsin High School Students Drown Out Pro-Union Protesters With Chants of ‘Stand With Walker’” (h/t the Blaze).

WHAT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND is that racism works BOTH WAYS. Sin is sin. Bigotry is bigotry. “

well, because “they” try so hard to hide it on the big screen, it seems they may understand that. Or at least they understand that a majority of their “guilty” liberal faithful don’t buy into THEIR racism/bigotry. But they want it both ways …

Capitalism works because superior products are worth more, and people will pay more. “Democracy” fails because a majority can vote to steal from the superior producer. Votes retain value regardless of quality … even fraudulent votes are equal. Votes cast in ignorance or maliciousness are equal to the smartest most idealistic vote.

So we have a republic, but politicians long ago learned to leverage power into votes via free circuses and contraceptives. In a moral society, this would not work. But in an equal justice, racist, bigoted, everything’s free in America world … not so much.

But now PACs can buy elections … Obama campaigns for a billion, but Soros could give $5 billion. What a world, what a world … but unlike with the wicked witch of the west … there is no simple solution.

Spike Lee thinks he’s the Grand Wizard of something.

Well, this is an interesting development; can’t help but wonder if it will get any play in the “national media;” but I somehow doubt that it will.

Get a load of this folks ….a white hispanic ….has anyone ever seen that in a newspaper story they have seen

    JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Aggie95. | March 25, 2012 at 6:07 pm

The “white” identity term is reserved for derogatory or accusatory purposes only. When blacks commit crimes, even when the police are looking for the suspects and a physical description would be helpful and photos even more helpful, there’s a media black-out and silence about race. If the victim is white, nothing is mentioned about the victim’s race. Whites, Asians and Hispanics are all fair game, especially whites. But blacks ALWAYS get a pass when it comes to mentioning race. Oh, no, they are the protected class. But Hispanics also get some cover, but it’s only mentioned that they’re actually white when they’ve done something or the “victim” is black. In other words, it’s only about race when a black is involved.

By the way, it’s not just the media that protects blacks from scrutiny. It’s done by all levels of government, including the military, and most of the private sector as well.

Pity that Spike Lee didn’t get in touch with his half-white self and instead still promoting racism hatred. The genealogy show was hilarious: excerpted here.!

“…Ol’ racist Spike discovered his White ancestry on the NBC show Who Do You Think You Are ? He even has an emotional scene with his third cousin who has a scary general resemblance to him. No word on if Spike will adopt Rangers gear and get rink side tickets because of this… …”
“…In another surprising moment, Lee learned that he has a Caucasian relative – and decided to meet Guinevere Grier, a white woman who is the filmmaker’s cousin twice removed.

He told Grier, “Throughout the years I would just be in an airport anywhere in America seeing random white Americans, saying and think to myself, I could be related to them. I never thought anymore about that but now it’s hit me in the face. I’m on your couch and we’re cousins…”

Id never seen someone called a “white Hispanic” before this case. All kidding aside I didn’t realize there was even such a term. Are darker skinned Hispanics called brown Hispanics?

Or is the media just calling Zimmerman a white Hispanic because they want this to be a white on black hate crime and smehow it interfers with the victimology if both the parties are minorities. The need the white guy to blame.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to katiejane. | March 25, 2012 at 6:12 pm

They want it to be about race, but only if they can get away with portraying Martin as a “victim.” That’s why they show his old picture as a child rather than recent ones as a fully grown, 6’2″, 200 lb 17 yr. old. Those current-day photos have been removed by the media.

Uncle Samuel in reply to katiejane. | March 25, 2012 at 6:24 pm

Yep – AND Zimmerman sounded so deliciously Jewish!

The Race Card Players were probably so disappointed to learn that Zimmerman was Hispanic and Catholic…had African-American relatives and friends…was a mentor to Black kids, etc.

Oh – and they never think to apologize and hold a march for Black on White crime.

Sympathy and concern goes one way only with them.

They don’t care about the white guy their black bros sloshed with gasoline and burned to death a week after Treyvon Martin was shot. Since he didn’t look like their children, evidently he does not count in their eyes.

This fact puts the real motives, racism and hypocrisy of Obama, Wright, Sharpton, Jackson and the New Black Panthers right out in the open where everyone can see and smell it.

VetHusbandFather in reply to katiejane. | March 25, 2012 at 10:20 pm

White Hispanic is actually pretty common, I saw it a lot in my recent job search when asked to self-identify race and gender. I think it’s rather odd that they keep tabs on white (hispanic) and white (non-hispanic). So now we are dividing a race into different protected and non-protected ethnicities in the interest of improving diversity?

want to read something that will highlight liberal thought….O have been posting on this story on a local papers website and all I have been doing pretty much is pointing out the lies and 1/2 truths and things such as the Times story I posted above and that the whole thing the way its being portrayed stinks ….and that I didn’t leap on the bandwagon and call for Zimmermans head and that I didn’t trust anything Jackson and Sharpton were into …nasty nasty people,128383

Don’t worry, if Marco Rubio is the VP pick, you’ll be hearing the term “White Hispanic” all over the MSM.

Hey, wait a minute. Zimmerman and Rubio are both White Hispanics from Florida. When will Rubio denounce his fellow White Hispanic Floridian brother?

There have been a lot of incidents in the last year of mobs of black racists attacking whites and asians. Incidents where there is no doubt about what happened. How would Spike Lee feel if someone were to publicize the home addresses of those perps? I’ll bet he would scream “racism!” and “lynch mob!” because he doesn’t object to thuggery when the thugs are black.

Spike Lee is a proud racist. He hates white people so much that he has said that when he sees an interracial couple he gives them a hate stare. So, expecting Spike Lee to know anything about “the right thing” is like expecting a dog to not [fill in with whatever disgusting dog habit you wish].

Spike Lee is a respected and popular film maker. Given his racist, thuggish behavior, what does that tell us about the people who admire him?

Isn’t it amazing? In less than a hundred years we have gone from Blacks fearing being lynched to Blacks supporting one.

hey folks get a load of this one ….was Trayvon suspended for swinging at a bus driver and did he sell dope …this page makes those claims

The ugly truth in this matter is three-fold:

One, we don’t really know what happened between Zimmerman and Martin other than Martin is dead, Zimmerman was beaten up, and what has been reported which may or may not be true and/or complete.

Two, racialists like Spike Lee and the usual others are urinating on themselves in their exuberance to bash Zimmerman, white people and America.

Three, President Obama may or may not realize it, but if one of the those responsible for the vast majority of murders and other crimes against black people in America had a son, he too would look like Trayvon…
