Some changes are coming to the FOX News Channel as it revamps its programming this summer. Conservative commentator Dan Bongino and former GOP congressman Trey Gowdy will have weekend shows starting in June. Both men increased their presence on the network in recent months.

Outgoing Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) caused quite a stir when he said on TV that he found no evidence that the FBI spied on President Donald Trump's campaign after he received a briefing from the DOJ and FBI. Now reports have emerged that Gowdy and others at the meeting did not see any documents or subpoenas they requested.

This is unfortunate, but completely understandable news. South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy announced Tuesday he will not seek re-election but will return home to employ his skills in the justice system.

As the ongoing saga of Hillary's email scandal trudges along, Trey Gowdy, House Oversight Committee member, claims Hillary used a special tool to wipe clean her home-brewed email server. No, it wasn't a very special cloth. (I know, I figured that's what she used, too). According to Gowdy, Hillary used BleachBit, a program that deep cleans files, cookies, and servers. Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Marco Rubio picked up several meaty endorsements over the past few days. Saturday, Townhall's Guy Benson reported South Carolina firebrand, Rep. Trey Gowdy, has endorsed Sen. Rubio.

Hillary Clinton has finally agreed to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi. Today, Hillary's attorney David Kendall informed Chairman Gowdy that Mrs. Clinton will testify before Congress, but only once. In a letter released to the public on March 31, the committee officially requested Mrs. Clinton's presence for questioning. Committee Chairman Gowdy requested two interviews, a "private transcribed interview related to her email arrangement as well as her public appearance before the Committee." In his response, Mrs. Clinton's attorney David Kendall wrote there was, "no basis, logic, or precedent for such an usual request," saying Mrs. Clinton would be, "prepared to stay for the duration of the Committee's questions on the day she appears." Hillary is not willing to further disclose correspondence, nor is she willing to allow a neutral third-party to inspect her email server(s). She and her counsel maintain the State Department's records should satisfy any queries the Select Committee might have. And so the record retention ball gets lobbed back into the Department of State's court. Also relevant here is the OIG report released shortly after the revelation that Hillary had her own special private email server. As we discussed back in March:
The report also concluded that State Department employees were intentionally avoiding creating official email records, “because they do not want to make the email available in searches or fear that this availability would inhibit debate about pending decisions.”

While writers like Ben White are encouraging Hillary to kickstart her 2016 bid immediately, the House Select Committee on Benghazi is still looking for answers. Today, Gowdy sent a letter to Hillary Clinton's counsel confirming the extension of subpoena deadline to March 27, and formally requesting the former Secretary of State surrender her email servers to a mutually agreed upon third party for forensic examination. Gowdy explained Hillary's unusual and likely unprecedented email arrangement, an arrangement that made her the sole arbiter of relevant documentation. Making note that Mrs. Clinton deleted emails, Gowdy wrote, "the deletion of emails is not normal practice once any investigation, let alone litigation, commences. The fact that she apparently deleted some emails after Congress initially requested documents raises serious concerns." The House of Representatives issued the following statement this afternoon:
Washington, DC-- Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy today sent a letter requesting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton turn over the server she used for official State Department business to the State Department inspector general or a neutral third party for independent analysis of what records should be in the public domain. “Though Secretary Clinton alone is responsible for causing this issue, she alone does not get to determine its outcome,” said Gowdy, R-S.C. “That is why in the interest of transparency for the American people, I am formally requesting she turn the server over to the State Department’s inspector general or a mutually agreeable third party. “An independent analysis of the private server Secretary Clinton used for the official conduct of U.S. government business is the best way to remove politics and personal consideration from the equation. Having a neutral, third-party arbiter such as the State Department IG do a forensic analysis and document review is an eminently fair and reasonable means to determine what should be made public.

Trey Gowdy appeared on Face the Nation today and explained that the emails Hillary has turned over paint an incomplete picture. Katherine Connell of National Review:
Gowdy: ‘There Are Huge Gaps’ in E-mails Clinton’s Turned Over to Benghazi Committee Representative Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.), chairman of the House committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi attack, said that there are “gaps of months and months and months” in the e-mails that former secretary of state Hillary Clinton has handed over to the committee so far. Gowdy, who has issued a subpoena to the State Department seeking Clinton’s remaining e-mails, told Bob Schieffer on Face the Nation Sunday that “there are huge gaps” in the e-mails she has made available. “If you think to that iconic picture of her on a C-17 flying to Libya, sunglasses on — she has her hand-held device in her hand — we have no e-mails from that day,” he said. “In fact we have no e-mails from that trip.”

Looks like the Select Committee headed by Trey Gowdy will be Bipartisan! Politico reports, Benghazi panel to have 7 GOPers, 5 Dems:
The select committee that will probe the attacks in Benghazi will have seven Republicans and five Democrats, according to sources familiar with the GOP leadership’s plans. A resolution to create the committee will come to the floor Thursday and is expected to pass by a wide margin. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) tapped South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy to chair the panel.
And it's pretty obvious that Hillary will be a primary focus:
On  May 7, 2013 during one of the many House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearings on Benghazi, Rep. Trey Gowdy, his voice slightly shaken with emotion, had the following ringing words to say –  and for their sake, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama better have been listening: “so if anyone wants to know what difference does it make, if anyone wants to ask what difference does it make (in reference to the now infamous Hillary Clinton quote) – it always matters whether you can trust your government – and to the families of the victims – we are going to find out what happened in Benghazi and I dont give a damn who’s career is impacted – we are going to find out what happened.” Rep. Gowdy will now be able to completely fulfill that promise, and in the process, could destroy the political careers of one or both of the most powerful Democrats in America.
