Sean Spicer Tag

Former White House Chief of Staff and RNC Chair Reince Priebus and former White House Press Secretary (also RNC alum) Sean Spicer were recently appointed to a White House Commission.

Former White House spokesman Sean Spicer did a book signing in Middleton, Rhode Island this weekend. Plenty of fans showed up to buy his book and have it signed but so did a gaggle of obnoxious leftists. Nothing will be allowed to be enjoyed, if progressives have anything to do with it.

I saw no less than forty different takes lambasting former White House Press Secretary's Sunday Night Emmy cameo. The award show, its attendees, and the media covering this self-aggrandizing party, which is now drenched in left-leaning politics, was shocked, SHOCKED! that Spicer would show his face in such a venue, let alone be somewhat funny. Given the headlines, I assumed Spicer had a fairly lengthy sketch and said some relatively harsh things to have drawn the ire he received. And then I watched the clip. Spicer wheeled out a likeness of the White House Press podium and uttered one line. Just one.

Give Joe Scarborough credit. Just when we were getting bored with all the Trump/Nazi analogies, Joe has come up with a new one. On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough compared Trump press secretary Sean Spicer to an old Soviet spokesman and propagandist. Scarborough's beef was that Spicer had supposedly said that the meeting of Trump campaign people including Donald, Jr. and the Russians was "just about adoptions." Joe called that a "lie." But have a look at the screenshot below, showing what Spicer actually said.

I don't go to conferences very often. It's a blog conference phobia:
As longtime readers know, I don’t do blog conferences. There are a variety of reasons for that, but mostly it’s me, not them.
Since I wrote that in June 2012, I have attended a couple of conferences, mostly because I was invited. I'll also go if I'm a featured speaker. I don't generally go to stuff just to listen. I'd probably go to more stuff if I'd get more invitations.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, like the rest of the entertainment industry, is no friend of the Trump administration or Press Secretary Sean Spicer. But sometimes the entertainment industry, in its desire to mock Trump, ends up mocking itself or other Trump haters. We saw that with the Saturday Night Live skit about a Trump-loving dog. And Noah did the same thing portraying Spicer as a kindergarten teacher dealing with unruly press children.

Tuesday, I blogged that funding for a border wall may complicate the budget showdown set for next month. President Trump asked Congress for around $1 billion to start building a wall along 62 miles on the border. Time White House correspondent Zeke Miller asked Press Secretary Sean Spicer if the administration considers funding for a border wall with Mexico a deal breaker when it comes to next month's spending bill:
“That is our request,” press secretary Sean Spicer said Wednesday when asked if the wall funding is a deal-breaker for a must-pass spending bill.
Unfortunately, a more specific answer is needed since the government faces a partial shutdown if Congress cannot pass a bill by April 29.

Tuesday, American Urban Radio Networks White House correspondent, April Ryan, asked White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer how the administration was working to "revamp their image" after two and a half months of bad press. The exchange quickly became a heated one. "With all these investigations, questions of what is is, how does this administration try to revamp its image? Two and a half months in -- you've got this Yates story today, you've got other things going on, you've got Russia, you've got wiretapping..." began Ryan.

Trump promised to deviate from the Beltway status quo. Forget taking a salary or spending all of his time in Washington, Trump announced months ago he'd do neither. In his first interview with 60 Minutes, Trump said:
“Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no,” Trump said. “I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.” Stahl reminded the president-elect, “[That’s] $400,000 you’re giving up.” Again, Trump answered, “No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.”

Saturday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer popped into the local Apple Store. While there, he was ambushed by a woman who filmed the encounter. Relentlessly, she fired question after question, never even pausing to allow him to respond. Though nothing about the ambush suggests she was wanting dialogue. Spicer was pelted with questions like "How does it feel to work for a fascist? Have you helped with the Russia stuff? Are you a traitor too? Are you a criminal as well? Do you feel good about lying to the American people?" Politely and mostly ignoring the woman, Spicer smiled and responded only to say, “It's such a great country, it allows you to be here. Thank you.”
