In another clip this a.m., Joe Scarborough said that he talked to a former Governor who said that he had a conversation four years ago with Mitt and asked him why he wanted to be President. That Governor said that Mitt couldn’t come up with an answer, ever after the Governor had asked him the question several times.

They just had a discussion on “Morning Joe” that Romney has been running on his support for the Ryan Plan, yet just last night promised that he wouldn’t touch Social Security or Medicare! I’m sure we’ll be able to find that clip shortly. (It was a discussion with John Heilman, Eugene Robinson and Mike Barnicle (sp).)

Drudge still has mega influence, but that dip could be a warning shot over his bow. He is really proud when his site grows, so I hope he notices when it shrinks and cares to analyze why. It would do him and us good if he recognized his bias was not helpful to his site.

Yes, Professor, it’s impossible to tell from the quality of the sound if Romney said “not” or not. But in a way, it doesn’t matter WHAT Romney says. Romney, like Obama, like Bill Clinton, will say anything to get elected.
I now think Romney will not attempt to repeal Obamacare. Didn’t someone in Romney’s campaign say a few days ago that Romney’s not going to repeal Obamacare? (Was it Norm Coleman? Did I read that? YET ANOTHER recently ignominiously defeated Republican?)
Romney is essentially Obama’s political twin: despicable campaign tactics; trying to swamp his opponent with money and lies.
This kind of scorched earth campaign is encouraged by our insane campaign finance laws because the PACS are not associated with the candidate’s name. The despicable consultants throw dirt and lies and personal attacks, and the politician, in this case, Obama or Romney, shrugs and says “who, me?” — they’re not accountable. Thanks, Senator McCain!! And you, Sen. Feingold!! Oh, and you, G.W. Bush — never met a bill you were willing to veto?
These negative ads are run, polluting our process and making the American people feel that our candidates are lower than low. HOW ARE THE CANDIDATES SUPPOSED TO REHABILITATE THEIR CHARACTER AFTER THEY WIN?????? This process makes even excellent candidates look like objects of contempt. This is degrading our political process and it has to be changed.
Newt sees this. Newt tried to run a positive campaign.
Newt’s criticisms of Romney are of Romney’s liberal policies and Romney’s unexplained? unfair? exploitative? predatory? — business practices.
But — I believe that Floridians are in the process of choosing Newt. I hope so. A new poll says Newt is surging again in Florida.
Newt may be a honey badger — maybe — and that’s not a bad thing to be, but Newt is also THE LITTLE ENGING THAT COULD. Slow and steady wins the race, Newt! Courage!! We’re with you!!
One of the things I am so eager for, if Newt wins the nomination, is, we will team up with a clear agenda, like with the original Contract With America.
Then when Newt and all these Congressional Reps and all these Senators are elected, we will have a very clear idea of what they will do. A very clear Agenda from Day ONE.
Also, with the Lean Six Sigma feedback loop, once that is designed and in place, we will be able to revisit things like our execrable campaign finance laws, which put all the advantages into the hands of the money men and the incumbents.
I am completely fed up with the Establishment.
I heard Newt on with Sean Hannity today, and Newt said that Michael Reagan, who is with Newt campaigning in Florida, told Newt that this campaign reminds him of what the Establishment tried to do to destroy the candidacy of Ronald Reagan in 1980. Reagan won and I think Newt is going to win, too.
I’m ashamed that Rush and some of our other important voices for liberty are so incoherent. Florida is Rush’s home state! Why does Rush sound incoherent and confused!
Also, to questions BAIN’S business practices is not to criticize free market capitalism. You will never persuade me that Rush Limbaugh can’t tell the difference between questioning one business’s practices and criticizing “capitalism.”
From the little I listened to of Rush today, it sounded to me like Rush doesn’t know that Newt has stated clearly that he, Newt, has concluded that the individual mandate is unconstitutional.
Newt says that although he did originally support an individual mandate, or a bond, or a tax credit and a mandate, or SOMETHING to address the problem of people with means (like over $75,000 per year) not buying insurance and free-riding and not paying their medical and hospital bills, THE MORE HE LOOKED AT IT, THE MORE HE SAW THAT IT WAS CLEARLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND UNWORKABLE.
Rush doesn’t know this?
Is Rush this uninformed on other topics? There’s something wrong when Rush doesn’t know something this well-known. Newt has said this time and again. Hey, Rush! Hey, Doctor of Democracy! Hey, Truth Detector!! When you’re doing show-prep, you might want to find out about this!
I heard Scott Rasmussen today on Hannity say that the American people are consistently 10 to 20 years ahead of the politicians on clarity about the best public policy. So it’s up to us.

The conservative pundits and talk-radio heads have revealed they do have a stake in the end of this primary process. They in the end are trying to earn a living selling their books, and maintaining their audiences and having access to these same politicians.

I saw this too. Don’t see it anywhere on drudge though. The new headline there is a sad looking Newt pic with “Sunshine State Turns Cloudy.” I don’t remember a 2 day picture of Romney before the South Carolina primary with a “South Carolina Turns Grim” or “Landslide expected.” It really is sickening to see the Newt pile on.
