The former chief of deportations in the Bush administration will testify to Congress on Tuesday that President Obama’s new nondeportation policies would have let the Sept. 11 hijackers remain in the country even if they had been picked up in the months before their deadly attacks.

And the current chief of the union that represents Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will tell the House Judiciary Committee that ICE agents are now required to wait until most illegal immigrants have three misdemeanor convictions before they can be arrested and put in deportation proceedings.

I missed Chris Christie on David Letterman last night. I woke up and it was already on the news about him eating a donut on the show. He is making himself popular with the common folk and ‘low information voters’. He’s a ‘teflon man’ by poking fun at himself, and can stand up to the media attacks. In this day, I think popularity wins out over substance, but he’s got a little bit of that,too. In 2011, a security guard opened fire in a garage in Midtown Atlanta – he murdered one person, left a second person paralyzed from the waist down, and then turned himself in to the police a few days later. During those few days, this shooting spree was all over the news.

It was always a mystery – what motivated the Midtown Shooter? None of the news articles ever mentioned a motive for this person who shot three people. Then, at the sentencing hearing, the murderer’s motive was finally revealed:

Are we allowed to talk about this? It seems that, between the DA’s office and the local media information shutdown, that we are not allowed to discuss these murders or the killer’s motives, which are truly disturbing.

Why has it been decided by the powers-that-be that we can’t talk about this?

As many of you may know, the other night a 70 yr. old high school (girls) basketball coach was walking two of his player to their car when they were jumped by two armed thugs. The coach, a CCW and reserve police officer, with a gun pointed at his face, pulled his gun and shot the two gunmen, killing one.

This happened in the parking lot of Martin Luther King H.S. in Detroit.

Local tv covered the incident with live reports.

The newspaper of record, the Detroit Free Press, posted a story on it’s website (Freep.com) for a short time before it was archived.

Here is the 1st paragraph:

A 70-year-old man was in police custody after allegedly shooting two teens during an attempted robbery, killing one and seriously injuring the other, Detroit police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens said Saturday.

The other major newspaper, The Detroit News, had no mention of the shooting on it’s website until this morning. Again, posted for only a short time before it was pulled.

They took the same approach the Free Press did, adding a “tug on the heart strings” interview with one of the thugs’ mother.

By now, everyone already knew what really happened, the Det News was getting hammered in the comments, so they pulled the post.

I’ll just add–had the coach not been armed, and we had 3 dead innocent people in the parking lot of a high school, these same news organizations would be screaming that we need to take away the guns from people like the coach.

That how sick and twisted this has become.

Why can’t conservative organization offer and promote explicit reforms. We have all these great conservative pundits Jacobson, Limbaugh, Beck, Krauthammer, O’Reilly, Hannity, Gingrich, Malkin, Huckabee, Coulter, Will and others. None seem to be offering explicit changes to reform and improve our federalist republic. I don’t understand why we can’t have a couple of really good reforms that all conservatives could get behind support and promote. The GOP could really become a reform party if conservative could get behind just one major reform and get it implemented. I offer these two for consideration: One a constitutional amendment that does away with gerrymandering of congressional seats. Two a constitutional amendment that if 3/4 of all states approve an amendment and it is passed by a 2/3 congressional vote it becomes part of the constitution.

ObamaCare: is there anything it cannot do…???

As the Washington Post’s Sarah Kliff details, legalizing immigrants who are currently in the country illegally could make millions of them eligible for Obamacare. Though the exact number is difficult to pin down for a number of reasons, and we don’t know how many immigrants would obtain legal status as a result of any reform package, one Congressional Budget Office report estimated that 7 million to 8 million illegal immigrants would be uninsured after Obamacare because they won’t qualify for benefits. If this population were legalized and became eligible, it would mean increasing the number of Obamacare beneficiaries by over 20 percent. (The CBO has estimated that Obamacare would cover 36 million people either through the Medicaid expansion or the exchanges.)
