The former chief of deportations in the Bush administration will testify to Congress on Tuesday that President Obama’s new nondeportation policies would have let the Sept. 11 hijackers remain in the country even if they had been picked up in the months before their deadly attacks.
And the current chief of the union that represents Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will tell the House Judiciary Committee that ICE agents are now required to wait until most illegal immigrants have three misdemeanor convictions before they can be arrested and put in deportation proceedings.
Lawless mobs looting, trashing NYC businesses while cops stand ‘helpless’ – or are they politically handcuffed and scared to deal with Obama’s sons and Holder’s people????

I missed Chris Christie on David Letterman last night. I woke up and it was already on the news about him eating a donut on the show. He is making himself popular with the common folk and ‘low information voters’. He’s a ‘teflon man’ by poking fun at himself, and can stand up to the media attacks. In this day, I think popularity wins out over substance, but he’s got a little bit of that, too. This is all I can find so far, from abc news.. 2013 NJ guv re-elect and throwing his hat in the ring for 2016 ? It will be tough for the media for such a likeable bloke..
The speech, while brief, was marked by Obama’s trademark incoherence. Everything is “reasonable,” and “common sense,” and favored by pretty much everyone. And yet, if you actually listen to what he says, it makes no sense at all.
You can watch the speech here. After introducing various dignitaries, Obama set the stage by declaring that the U.S. is experiencing an “epidemic of gun violence.” But that simply isn’t true. “Gun violence,” like violent crime in general, is declining. The homicide rate in the U.S. has been cut in half since the Clinton administration…
In 2011, a security guard opened fire in a garage in Midtown Atlanta – he murdered one person, left a second person paralyzed from the waist down, and then turned himself in to the police a few days later. During those few days, this shooting spree was all over the news.
It was always a mystery – what motivated the Midtown Shooter? None of the news articles ever mentioned a motive for this person who shot three people. Then, at the sentencing hearing, the murderer’s motive was finally revealed:
“During his testimony Wednesday, Thandiwe suggested that his reason for even purchasing the gun he used in the shootings was to enforce beliefs he’d developed about white people during his later years as an anthropology major at the University of West Georgia.
“I was trying to prove a point that Europeans had colonized the world, and as a result of that, we see a lot of evil today,” he said. “In terms of slavery, it was something that needed to be answered for. I was trying to spread the message of making white people mend.”
He said the night before the shooting, he attended a so-called “Peace Party” intended to address his concerns about helping the black community find equal footing, but two white people were there.
“I was upset,” Thandiwe said. “I was still upset Friday. I took the gun to work because I was still upset from Thursday night.”’
This article was taken off the front page of the website after a few hours, and the coverage stopped. And that, apparently, is that.
Are we allowed to talk about this? It seems that, between the DA’s office and the local media information shutdown, that we are not allowed to discuss these murders or the killer’s motives, which are truly disturbing.
Why has it been decided by the powers-that-be that we can’t talk about this?
The shooter’s motive — so insane. This showcases a problem for me in how to absorb/interpret what a person says. Was Thandiwe truly motivated by his anthropology studies? Or did he just want to kill some people, preferably white ones? Was he on a mind-altering substance? Etc.
Our society’s understanding of sane vs. insane feels off. Maybe the penal code should be based more on the physical facts of the case rather than the alleged state of mind of the perp.
Obviously I haven’t thought very much about this! But your post is fascinating.
It’d be a good follow up to know what his anthropology teacher has to say.

As many of you may know, the other night a 70 yr. old high school (girls) basketball coach was walking two of his player to their car when they were jumped by two armed thugs. The coach, a CCW and reserve police officer, with a gun pointed at his face, pulled his gun and shot the two gunmen, killing one.
This happened in the parking lot of Martin Luther King H.S. in Detroit.
Local tv covered the incident with live reports.

Here is the headline:

Here is the 1st paragraph:
A 70-year-old man was in police custody after allegedly shooting two teens during an attempted robbery, killing one and seriously injuring the other, Detroit police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens said Saturday.
The other major newspaper, The Detroit News, had no mention of the shooting on it’s website until this morning. Again, posted for only a short time before it was pulled.
They took the same approach the Free Press did, adding a “tug on the heart strings” interview with one of the thugs’ mother.
By now, everyone already knew what really happened, the Det News was getting hammered in the comments, so they pulled the post.
I’ll just add–had the coach not been armed, and we had 3 dead innocent people in the parking lot of a high school, these same news organizations would be screaming that we need to take away the guns from people like the coach.

Why can’t conservative organization offer and promote explicit reforms. We have all these great conservative pundits Jacobson, Limbaugh, Beck, Krauthammer, O’Reilly, Hannity, Gingrich, Malkin, Huckabee, Coulter, Will and others. None seem to be offering explicit changes to reform and improve our federalist republic. I don’t understand why we can’t have a couple of really good reforms that all conservatives could get behind support and promote. The GOP could really become a reform party if conservative could get behind just one major reform and get it implemented. I offer these two for consideration: One a constitutional amendment that does away with gerrymandering of congressional seats. Two a constitutional amendment that if 3/4 of all states approve an amendment and it is passed by a 2/3 congressional vote it becomes part of the constitution.

3. Private sector productive people don’t have time to organize — working, taking care of family, leisure of choice.

As the Washington Post’s Sarah Kliff details, legalizing immigrants who are currently in the country illegally could make millions of them eligible for Obamacare. Though the exact number is difficult to pin down for a number of reasons, and we don’t know how many immigrants would obtain legal status as a result of any reform package, one Congressional Budget Office report estimated that 7 million to 8 million illegal immigrants would be uninsured after Obamacare because they won’t qualify for benefits. If this population were legalized and became eligible, it would mean increasing the number of Obamacare beneficiaries by over 20 percent. (The CBO has estimated that Obamacare would cover 36 million people either through the Medicaid expansion or the exchanges.)

What was interesting was to watch Cruz’s second round with the crapweasel police chief from Baltimore, who essentially lied in his response and went all around the barn to do it.
“North Carolina Medical Board refuses to discipline EPA human testing doctors
Apparently committing illegal human experiments, lying to study subjects about the risks, and committing assault and battery against study subjects do not violate the North Carolina Medical Practice Act.”
“Lawsuit claims human subjects in EPA trial at UNC inhaled dangerous fumes
The American Tradition Institute Environmental Law Center is suing the Environmental Protection Agency for on-going experiments at the EPA’s Human Studies facility at UNC-Chapel Hill. The lawsuit alleges an EPA trial took diesel exhaust and piped it into the lungs of 41 people to see what would happen.
The institute says the EPA parked a diesel truck next to a UNC building and pumped the diesel exhaust into a glass chamber, where patients unknowingly inhaled the lethal fumes for up to two hours.”
How do you NOT draw connections to the Nazis when a US agency is conducting experiments on humans – experiments they admit could kill them – and they do it without telling the test subjects they are risking their lives?
I’m thinking the NC Medical Board is the more immediate danger to me, lol. The EPA admitted everything – test subjects chosen because they have respiratory illness, then hooked up to a tank holding diesel exhaust from atruck parked outside, test subjects not told – and the NC Med Board says, ‘eh, no biggy.’

O’Donnell does a show where all he does is heckle, apparently…
YahooNews Reports say Israeli jets hit a target near the Syrian Lebanese border.
Un. Freaking. Believable.

I’ve been telling people Lisa Jackson was a dangerous nut for some years…
I’m thinking the NC Medical Board is the more immediate danger to me, lol. The EPA admitted everything – test subjects chosen because they have respiratory illness, then hooked up to a tank holding diesel exhaust from atruck parked outside, test subjects not told – and the NC Med Board says, ‘eh, no biggy.’
