Pres. Fast & Furious offers old stuff as new, agreement with NRA on “crazy stuff”, more Big Brother, and vacant chin-music.
But mostly vacant chin music.
The Collective’s war on women…
and on any cultural product that is not overtly anti-American…
continues with savage vigor.
The gun ban had an unintended effect: It emboldened criminals because they knew that law-abiding District residents were unarmed and powerless to defend themselves. Violent crime increased after the law was enacted, with homicides rising to 369 in 1988, from 188 in 1976 when the ban started. By 1993, annual homicides had reached 454.
An excellent piece by a former DC prosecutor. Read the whole thing.
Im sure Im not alone after reading Obama’s plans to talk about new gun control rules today. With clildren present to serve as persuasive human shields.
So you tell me. Whats the difference really between this guy selling knives and Obama’s planned performance?
Answer: We all liked Johnny Carson and knew he was kidding.
That isn’t a fallacious as it might seem.
The Sullivan Act is just over 100 years old, and strictly controls all kinds of weapons in New York City. Or pretends to…
According to the account, two shots, two dead. “Clip” size never an issue.
More good news…as far as it goes…on the Obama Gang…
YES, IT’S TRUE: Allen West Is Joining PJTV. And he’s not the only new acquisition . . . .
Quite a crew they have over there, btw!
Well, of course…!!!
The whole deal is an exercise is managed hysteria. So using children as stage dressing is hardly remarkable OR novel.
Not one law would save one victim of Sandy Hook. In fact, Sandy Hook is a case-study in gun control failure.
The whole deal is an exercise is managed hysteria.
Well said, Rags. I’m stealing that phrase.
Honored to give it away!
Moral coward (but really appropriate face of the Collective) Pears Morgan attempts to trap Shapiro in rigged appearance.
But nothing new, really. Remember all the snuff-porn around BOOOOooooooooooosh…???
Pres. Not Optimal told a series of obvious lies yesterday…sort of fitting for this final presser.
I don’t mean “shaded truths”…I mean outright, flat-footed lies.
Probably better suited to CI – Bloomberg overreach..and its JohnS Hopkins (Bloomberg donates $millions to Hopkins so this was inevitable).
Super-wealthy race hustler calls imaginary weapons “national security risk”, calls for legal liability for makers of imaginary weapons…
No word on what his security team uses to protect his super-wealthy, race-hustling ass…
Tiny super-wealthy 1%er liberal fascist Nanny Bloomers promises to inject “big money in politics” against NRA.
Coalition against “big money in politics” oddly silent…
NEW YORK (AP) – Sen. Charles Schumer says retailers that sell assault weapons should stop offering them for purchase while Congress discusses gun regulation legislation.
Schumer on Sunday released a letter he sent to major retailers asking for a voluntary moratorium.
I gotta better idea…
Let’s send a letter to Schumer telling him to put a moratorium on all new firearms legislation for one year, out of respect for the victims of Sandy Hook and the Constitution.
and thus it begins
BREAKING NEWS: ATTEMPTED GUN BURGLARY TIED TO JOURNAL NEWS GUN MAPS
Posted by Greg Ball on Sunday, January 13th, 2013
Sen. Ball renews call for immediate removal of maps and unveils legislation
Law enforcement plans rally to hold Journal News Accountable
Brewster, N.Y. – 1/13/2013 – Today Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C, I) announced that a burglary has been reported on Davis Ave. in White Plains, New York that evidently ties into The Journal News gun maps. It is reported that the burglar used The Journal News’ interactive gun map to target a home included on the map. Luckily the gun was locked up and no one was hurt.
Thoughtful letters might help support the West Point admins currently under anti-prayer attack? This isn’t kindergarten.
Great commentary from Scott Rasmussen (via Hot Air):
“Republican Establishment Declares War on GOP Voters”
I warned about this shortly after the election when I read in a WaPo article that Karl Roves was considering letting Crossroads be far more active in Republican primaries.
I stopped donating to the RNC in 2006. But the Tea Party gave me hope so I came back and donated to a few individual candidates in 2010 and 2012. If Rove beats us in the 2014 primaries and the Tea Party does not go third party, I’m voting Libertarian from now on.
For the Warren files
Also if you havent seen it..check out the latest Whitehouse public iniative to strip government officials of gun protection and replace with “gun free zone”
Ill grab the link and repost
Here. Great message
Whoops. Rags had it linked in the Shame thread
Kwazy Krugman Hardest Hit…
Embattled St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson says new Utah Attorney General John Swallow helped broker a deal in 2010 in which Johnson believed he was to pay Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid $600,000 to make a federal investigation into Johnson’s company go away.
But when the federal government filed a lawsuit Johnson thought he had paid to quash, he demanded Swallow return some of the $250,000 initial payment.
Hmmm… Must be something in the water…
Or, just maybe, it is the culture…
Funny. Police don’t shoot a lot of CCP holders in Texas…or the many other states that don’t practice tyranny.
Maybe this “public servant” should come to any of the various states which honor the civil rights of their people, and learn how NOT to shoot law-abiding people.
I mean, it CAN be done…
BARACK OBAMA: Best Gun Salesman In The History Of The World! “People were crowded five deep at the tiny counter of a gun shop near Atlanta, where a pastor from Knoxville, Tenn., was among the customers who showed up in person after the store’s Web site halted sales because of low inventory. . . . December set a record for the criminal background checks performed before many gun purchases, a strong indication of a big increase in sales, according to an analysis of federal data by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a gun industry trade group.”
UPDATE: Reader Ron Oglesby writes from Illinois:
Stopped at the local shop in Plainfield, Illinois today. Its so crazy in there they have had to create new rules. New hours are 9am-2pm for purchases and looking at guns. 2pm-6pm for picking up ONLY. If you are not picking up you can’t come in!
They have a good selection of ammo but you can only buy 5 boxes for any given caliber and. . . When I left there were 17 people waiting to talk to a rifle sales rep and a waiting list for a 12 lane range that was in double digits!!! I have been coming to this store for 10 years and have never seen it like this. All of this in one of the most un-friendly states for guns in the US!!! Change!!!
Best gun salesman in history.
Got to love it when people are free to chose!

Wow! THAT is an excellent presentation…!!!!
Eliminated. Done. Over. Kaput. And if the Green Blog is not being edited by a non-existent environment desk, the blog may just go away, too — or end up lightly managed by a Times editor who is paid and pressured by a dying paper to do the important work of the newspaper. Any way you want to spin it, America’s “paper of record” no longer considers alarmist, sky-is-falling coverage of the climate and energy beats worthy of the full-court press of a dedicated staff. Go figure.
Heh. And HEH!
Monica’s boyfriend and famous waster of fine cigars is a big fat liar.
But we knew that…
Over recent years, aside from fostering the Islamist cause, most of the UN’s successes have been in bringing rape, child molestation, and disease into disaster areas…

Look who’s at SarahPAC saying thank you. Ted Cruz.
Yo, Mitt! If you’d given Palin a role in your campaign, your missing voters might not have gone missing, and you might be thanking her now too. Am I kicking you while you’re down? Absolutely. Does my conscience bother me? Not a bit.
What is with some of these guys that they keep spouting drivel on the subject of rape. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/11/phil-gingrey-todd-akin_n_2456435.html
1. I saw that too. Just what we needed.
2. Yet another reason why the GOP should stand for defederalizing social issues and turning them over to the states. Otherwise some pols will keep picking the worst possible time to open their mouths in the worst possible way.
3. Moreover, Gingrey is wobbly on the Second Amendment.
as a add on to the story up front about Scott Walker cutting taxes in Wi ….guess who else is working to do so …..
Louisiana Governor Jindal proposes ending state income tax
Bloomberg is a MD now. Doc Nannystate.
Why is it that every “liberal solution” to any problem relies on limiting the rights or changing the way everyone else lives? Have you noticed how it works? Fight obesity by telling folks no more large sodas. Fight gun crime by limiting legal gun rights. Fight drug issues by making legit use more difficult. Fight deficits by punishing wealthy folks.
The ultimate abuser never changes. Just everyone else.
Some interesting logic.
little napoleon got his flu shot in october….and he got the flu 2 weeks ago.
I was hoping with the soda ban they would bring back those 8 – 10 oz glass bottles of coke …..ah to dip my hand into a bucket of ice water and pull one of those out ….just the right size
Since we’re playing the some bill of Rights amendments are better than others game let us try this out, it’s guaranteed to make the anti-gun zealots (more) crazy.
Step 1= Pick a city with strict gun laws and a high rate of gun violence. How about Chicago?
Step 2= Select the section of the city that has the highest numbers of shootings and/or the section in which the largest # of convicted shooters lived prior to conviction
Step 3= Do house to house/apartment to apartment searches of every residence in that section to seize illegal weapons
Step 4= Warrants? We don’t need no stinking warrants! To hell with the 4h amendment It’s for the good of the community.
Step 5= Sit back and enjoy the spectacle emanating from the lib universe
Don’t take any Wooden Nickels.

Lefty E. J. Dionne: gun safety [control] requires bipartisan support (headline in print edition says “Control of Guns Is Only Possible With GOP Help”
Am I the only person who remembers the height of PC-dom (c. 1990) when I would have to listen to the usual suspects bleat about how “The Handmaid’s Tale” was ripped from tomorrow’s headlines, and yet half-an-hour later they’d be on about how only the military and police should have guns. Cognitive Dissonance, it’s an ugly thing …
That would be a good step…
It turns out nobody needs ten bullets to kill a deer.
Obviously, a home invasion crew NEEDS to be met with fire-power.

Professor – We need to stop Obama from releasing the ‘Blind Sheik’. I have started a White House petition to get the word out demanding the Obama administration declare publicly that the ‘Blind Sheik’ will never be released. The petition is here:
Also, Michelle Malkin has the story here:
Please help get out the word.
That IS good! What would be better would be for that post never to be filled again.
Solis was a dangerous Marxist.
Please help! Combat veteran friend was arrested with 5 empty mags. Just like David Gregory!
DRUDGE REPORT : Just reported quote of Joe Biden that Obama will control guns by executive order.
That seems like a politization of science… Or something.
Teacher’s Union Head: Kill the Rich.
Other Union violence: Destroying a Quaker church in Philadelphia:
Remember Jimmy Jr. Hoffa threatening violence if Obama was not re-elected, at an Obama fundraiser, in Obama’s presence?
Remember the Black Panther threats of violence over the Trayvon Martin incident?
That is a MUCH greater loss than many will understand.
I have to read Buchanan’s work. I’m sure there is much more than an explication of how creatures like latourette come to be.
A current go-to for me is Charles Murray’s In Pursuit of Happiness and Good Government. I like it for many reasons but at heart because it posits what is happiness and suggests how to create it. And policies that might follow.
Just saw this on WSJ site:
Another tribute linked here. I will read James M. Buchanan It will take me a while.
And yet another great tribute here:
