While it’s tempting to laugh at the total economic illiteracy on display in this video, it’s actually quite disturbing. Because these are not only voters, but staunch enough Democrats that they became delegates at the convention. These people can never be allowed to have real political power.
While I was making the video a new one popped up: “John, I’ve got great confidence in my ability to sway the American people,” Boehner quotes the president as having told him (from Woodward’s new book).
Oddly, young voters continue to feel less and less enthusiastic about President Obama
POSTED AT 12:01 PM ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2012 BY ERIKA JOHNSEN
In 2008, the youth vote was practically gift-wrapped for President Obama, with larger-than-average numbers of starry-eyed, enthusiastic, inspired under-30s showing up at the polls to vote overwhelmingly in his favor. Obama barely even had to do any real work to convince them that he was their guy — the pervasive sentiments of Hopenchange and his totally sweet graphic designs were enough to get the job done. Obama’s been losing some of his steam with the youth vote for a time now, and as Karl Rove penned in today’s WSJ, it looks like cold, hard reality might finally be forcing the youths to wise up:
Then there are voters ages 18 to 29, among Mr. Obama’s most important supporters in 2008. The roughly 23.7 million “millennials” who voted in 2008 were 18% of the electorate, up 2.9 million voters over the previous presidential race. They gave Mr. Obama 66% to Sen. John McCain’s 32%, according to exit polls. This margin of roughly eight million votes was a major chunk of Mr. Obama’s overall edge of 9.6 million.
But youthful enthusiasm for Mr. Obama has waned. In October 2008, 78% of voters 18-29 told Gallup they would definitely vote that year. Now it’s 58%.
There’s also evidence that fewer younger people are registered. A November 2011 study from Tufts University found that 43% of the decline in Nevada’s voter rolls since 2008 came from voters ages 18-24. Similarly, while North Carolina’s rolls rose by 93,709 over that period, more than 48,000 younger voters were dropped from the rolls, 80% of them Democrats.
Mr. Obama’s lead over Mr. Romney in the latest JZ Analytics poll among voters ages 18-29 is 49% to 41%. If young voters turn out this fall in the same numbers as in 2008 and give Mr. Obama this eight-point margin, it will take 2.8 million votes from Mr. Obama’s total and add more than 3.3 million to Mr. Romney’s tally.
Somehow, I don’t think it’s any of the young idealists’ normally pet-issues of climate change or ending the wars or whatever that’s causing them to turn tail from supporting the President — but our lately meager economic growth and the almost 13 percent unemployment rate among those aged 18-29 might have something to do with it. As more students graduating from high school and college during Obama’s tenure have remained guests on their parents’ couches, frustrated and unemployed/underemployed, promises of lowering their student loan repayments by a few dollars and letting them stay on their parents’ health care plans until their 26 flipping years old (culture of dependency, much?), have worn increasingly thin. Finding good jobs that can provide them with their own health care plans are becoming somewhat more of a priority.
It isn’t for lack of trying to spellbind — er, I mean, persuade — the youths, however; President Obama has increased his campus presence 175 percent in 2012, according to a study from American Majority Action (granted, it is a presidential election year, but the amount of time he spends talking about his ‘investments’ in green energy and education and whatnot seems somewhat disproportionate with the importance most voters place on jobs and the economy):
President Obama spoke 13 times on college and high school campuses in August alone—more than any other month of his Presidency, according to a new study from American Majority Action’s Campus Action project. Desperate to try to energize a youth vote that is starting down a long unemployment line, the study shows that since January 2012, the President has increased his presence on college campuses by a staggering 175 percent over last year’s appearances.
President Obama has appeared on campus one out of every ten days since his administration began. … However, during this year’s reelection campaign Obama has already appeared 44 times on campuses with 37 of those in “swing” states. All of the last 26 speeches to colleges were in states that are critical to his reelection. …
Even more telling about Chicago’s concern over a dip in the youth vote for the President this year, Obama has largely avoided mentioning the economy during his campus stops. Just like he’s avoided meeting with his Jobs Council for six months, Obama has instead focused on telling students about ObamaCare and student loan aid.
Our national debt just topped $16 trillion this week — so get it together, youths. Who’s going to pay for that, do you suppose? We are. Don’t let President Obama dangling free contraception, student-loan repayment help, and renewable energy projects (all of which, by the way, you’re going to end up paying for in the long run, anyways) in your face distract you from the real issues. There’s only one party that’s been focused like a laser on our debt, entitlement reform, jobs, and the economy (hint: It ain’t the Democrats, either).
“CHARLOTTE — Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren’s campaign said Tuesday that the Democratic National Convention’s Native American Council has not asked her to appear at a meeting to answer questions about her claim to Cherokee heritage…
The Herald reported that its “Truth Squad” visited a gathering of Native American delegates in Charlotte, site of this week’s Democratic convention, and asked them about Warren’s claim. Some said they were concerned that Warren might have claimed undocumented Cherokee ancestry to advance her career as a law professor, a charge Warren and law schools that hired her have denied.
One of the concerned delegates named in the Herald report was Harlyn Geronimo, the great grandson of the Apache warrior Geronimo. But Harlyn Geronimo also told the Herald he was unfamiliar with Warren’s claim, and he is not a convention delegate, according to a list on the Democratic convention website. Three others featured in the Herald story are delegates.
Asked Tuesday at the convention whether she planned to meet with the Native American delegation and field questions about her heritage, Warren threw up her hands in exasperation.
“I’ve answered those questions,” she said. “I’m here to talk about what’s happening to America’s families. That’s my job. It’s my full-time job.”
-So because one out of the four Native American persons the Herald spoke with was not an official DNC delegate, they don’t count? Is that how this works now???
Bob Woodward Of Watergate Fame…. New Book Portray’s Obama As Incompetent
Remember the fight in Congress over the debt ceiling, right afterwards our credit rating was down graded. Well Bob Woodward of Watergate fame has a new book coming out ….here are a few choice pieces from that book, with commentary by CBS. The basic upshot was if you remember what it was John Boehner claimed was that he and obama had cut a deal but that obama later came in and tried to change it leading Boehner to walk away from the talks. Well, Woodward says that it was indeed true and that they had a deal in place and obama came in at the last minute and tried to wring more taxes out of Boehner. When you see the quote from rahm emanuel who was the president chief of staff early in his administration remember how the democrats always make the claim of striving for bipartisanship. What I take away from it is that obama couldn’t find his ass in a dark room using both hands and a flashlight.
You know, this is getting outrageous. These people just seem to blurt out death threats without thinking about what the heck they’re doing. The same people don’t even know how to carry through one of those. (Thankfully!!)
And not just that, but they threaten people who strongly believe in the Second Amendment. Don’t they think that, if they even try, they would be at a serious disadvantage from the get-go? Talk about stupidity – especially if/when the Secret Service decide to have a nice little chit-chat with ya.
Bottom line: don’t threaten death to someone. It sounds stupid – and it is stupid.
I think the Romney response should be a simple Eastwood quote: “Go ahead. Make my day.” And leave it at that.
From Ricochet.com. Sounds as if Paul Rahe might have first hand knowledge of another problem with Elizabeth Warren’s resume. Is anything real about this person?
I’ve recently noticed a funny phenomenon occurring. Many liberal women (and sometimes men) who comment on various sites have pictures of their cats as their photos. No links, just something I’ve noticed.
Then:
“In this time of economic transformation and crisis, we must be stewards of this economy more than ever before. We will maintain fiscal responsibility, so that we do not mortgage our children’s future on a mountain of debt.”

If anyone needs any further convincing that the on-going Democrat Convention is as screwed up as a soup sandwich, this short piece on last night’s umbrella fiasco ought to do it.
So, Obama is The One who will take the American people towards a new Promised Land. The Promised One! The Blessed One! Heaven Sent! “The LORD is my shepherd…” Nothing different from the “Praise and Worship” crowds we saw in 2008.
“Steven J. Spinner joined other top fundraisers for a VIP tour of the Democratic National Convention floor in Charlotte Monday evening, posing and waving for a photographer while standing behind the podium. When he saw ABC News cameras, however, he ran for the exit. [emphasis mine]”
I’ve seen something similar to this before. It’s just staggering.
I’d like to see one that gives what the tax increase has been over the last fifty (50) years by salary range. So, if a person in a 10 – 20,000 or 30 – 40,000 could see by means of a graph what the trajectory has been and likely to be. This might “open some eyes.”
I like graphs. They obviously can drive the point home, when words alone fail to do.
When you’ve spent your entire life shape-shifting your identity to fit your environment, when you’re a postmodernist who views reality as fungible, when your media acolytes have compared you to JFK, FDR and Lincoln — before you’ve taken office, even as they simultaneously admit that even they don’t know what the heck you really stand for — you don’t get to claim that someone is calling you “fictional.”
—Ed Driscoll
But confident ignorance is one of the most dangerous qualities in a leader of a nation. If he has the rhetorical skills to inspire the same confidence in himself by others, then you have the ingredients for national disaster.
The journalism class got a, ahem, nice little taste of what reality under Obamaworld looks like.
“Two guys were dealing drugs in the room next to me, and a prostitute was working out of the parking lot. And this was in the early afternoon. The room itself was dirty, full of other people’s stuff, etc.”
“TripAdvisor had these recent comments on one of the Knights Inn properties: “wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy,” “scared to death,” and “pimps and prostitutes at night.””
“Tucker Carlson, editor of The Daily Caller, told me that the Quality Inn his staff was assigned to was “the worst hotel you can imagine.””
You must read it all.
Moral of the story: before being assigned any accommodations by the DNC, please check the online reviews, and plan more decent alternatives beforehand. And if the DNC insists on making you stay at the “crack house”, feel perfectly free to give them an “Eastwood”-full and vote with your feet.

If anyone needs any further convincing that the on-going Democrat Convention is as screwed up as a soup sandwich, this short piece on last night’s umbrella fiasco ought to do it.

My goodness! They don’t seem to want to hide it now!
Artwork Likens Obama to Jesus
So, Obama is The One who will take the American people towards a new Promised Land. The Promised One! The Blessed One! Heaven Sent! “The LORD is my shepherd…” Nothing different from the “Praise and Worship” crowds we saw in 2008.
Is this idolatry or what?
Where is the darned outrage?

Is a word of this speech true…I mean, starting from the teachers teaching without pay in a bankrupt district.

Red Carpet for Solyndra Figure at Democrat National Convention
Money quote:
“Steven J. Spinner joined other top fundraisers for a VIP tour of the Democratic National Convention floor in Charlotte Monday evening, posing and waving for a photographer while standing behind the podium. When he saw ABC News cameras, however, he ran for the exit. [emphasis mine]”

You can kiss my powerful pink ass.
The new media back-lash has already begun.
If the Republican Party is the “Party of 1812″, the the Democrats are the Party of 1984…
… George Orwell’s 1984.

An update on that recent “racist” peanut throwing incident at the RNC, professor; seems as if it might not be exactly quite as advertised.

Obama’s Dreams by Thomas Sowell:
Friendly Fire.
Did the NY Times Just Get Obama Fired?
OUCH!!
The Crack Hotels of the DNC
But Wait! It Gets Better!!
