This story continues to develop, so we'll be updating the post accordingly. Amid President Trump's claims the Obama administration "wiretapped" him prior to taking office, comes this little tidbit from the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA). In a press conference Wednesday, Nunes confirmed, "on numerous occasions, the intelligence community incidentally collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition."

Rather than focus on Gorsuch's judicial qualifications and whether he would interpret and apply the law aptly, Democratic Senators on the Judiciary Committee have chosen to spend their allotted time prodding Gorsuch's political beliefs. There seems to be universal confusion in the Democratic camp about the role of the judiciary, and instead, Gorsuch has been questioned as though he would serve as an extension of the legislative branch.

Today was Day Two in confirmation hearings for Trump Supreme Court Justice nominee, Judge Neil Gorsuch. Senators on the Judiciary Committee took turns spending thirty minutes grilling Gorsuch. When it was Sen. Durbin's (D-IL) turn to bat, he flamed out. Gloriously. "Do you believe that there are ever situations where the cost of maternity leave to an employer can justify an employer asking only female applicants and not male applicants about family plans?" Sen. Durbin asked. To which Gorsuch sternly replied, "those are not my words and I would never had said them."

It's been almost two years since Sen. Bob Menendez was indicted by a grand jury and charged with fourteen felony counts of criminal corruption. The Democratic Senator from New Jersey was investigated by Eric Holder's Department of Justice and accused of using his federal office to help wealthy dentist and long-time friend and campaign donor, Dr. Salomon Melgen by attempting to sway policy that would be favorable to Melgen's business.

Well-loved educational children's show Sesame Street will soon introduce a new character. Julia will join the Sesame Street crew as the show's first autistic muppet. While the distinction is noteworthy and needed, the show's writers hope Julia will be a seamless part of the cast. "I would love her to be not Julia, the kid on "Sesame Street" who has autism, I would like her to just be Julia," said Christine Ferraro.

Confirmation hearings for Trump Supreme Court Justice nominee Neil Gorsuch begin today. We'll be covering those hearings live. Refresh often for the latest. Gorsuch has spent his post-nomination time rigorously preparing for the hearings. Senate Majority Leader McConnell has promised a confirmation vote before the Senate breaks for Easter recess on April 8.

This is a truly bizarre case. Remember Kurt Eichenwald? The Journalist who claimed he was assaulted by a tweet? Well, the FBI confirmed Friday they've arrested John Rivello, the suspect they believe sent a "seizure-inducing" tweet to Dallas reporter, Kurt Eichenwald. Eichenwald claims the tweet triggered an epileptic seizure. Professor Jacobson covered the case in December. For background, see here.

Over the years, we've cataloged numerous instances of bias-driven reporting from just about every major news outlet our country has to offer. The AP is not immune. More concerning about creeping bias in AP reporting is that most major publications, channels, and stations in the U.S. have subscriptions to the Associated Press wire stories. Last month, there was this gem, published about the dust-up between Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Mitch McConnell during Jeff Sessions' confirmation hearings:

The battle against the overly politicized life is a never-ending brawl and one that's only intensified since President Trump was inaugurated, sending the progressive movement into a tailspin. Seth Matlins, Executive Vice President of Branded Impact at WME/IMG, wrote an opinion post, which TIME published online, demanding brands publicly declare their political allegiance or find themselves irrelevant.

Wednesday, the Senate voted to confirm General H.R. McMaster as a National Security Advisor to President Trump. National Security Advisor's do not typically require Senate approval, but Senate confirmation is required when three and four-star generals change jobs or assignments. McMaster will remain in active duty. Trump selected McMaster after Mike Flynn resigned last month.

Trump promised to deviate from the Beltway status quo. Forget taking a salary or spending all of his time in Washington, Trump announced months ago he'd do neither. In his first interview with 60 Minutes, Trump said:
“Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no,” Trump said. “I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.” Stahl reminded the president-elect, “[That’s] $400,000 you’re giving up.” Again, Trump answered, “No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.”

Saturday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer popped into the local Apple Store. While there, he was ambushed by a woman who filmed the encounter. Relentlessly, she fired question after question, never even pausing to allow him to respond. Though nothing about the ambush suggests she was wanting dialogue. Spicer was pelted with questions like "How does it feel to work for a fascist? Have you helped with the Russia stuff? Are you a traitor too? Are you a criminal as well? Do you feel good about lying to the American people?" Politely and mostly ignoring the woman, Spicer smiled and responded only to say, “It's such a great country, it allows you to be here. Thank you.”

Do you know how to get offended by everything? Could your life use a little more outrage? Then, my friend, today is your lucky day. In JP's latest episode you'll learn how to get real good and offended in three easy steps.

Over the past few months, Jewish Community Centers across the country have received bomb threats that, thankfully, have turned out to be nothing more than threats. Just yesterday the Jewish Children's Museum in Brooklyn was evacuated after a bomb threat was received via email. The New York Police now believe the calls are all coming from the same individual who's using a voice changer and number spoofer.
