Berkeley Reportedly Reverses Position, Will Allow Ben Shapiro Speech

It was looking like this was going to be a repeat of the Ann Coulter situation, so this is good news.

This welcome news hardly makes up for all of their recent sins against free expression, but it’s a start. Following another outcry from conservatives, who again highlighted the university’s outrageous hostility to free speech, UC Berkeley officials now say they’re committed to accommodating an event featuring Ben Shapiro. Let’s hope this marks the institution of a new policy on these matters. The hecklers’ veto appears to have finally been overridden — for now:
