Will Obama’s Return to Campaign Trail Help or Hurt Democrats?

Will Obama’s Return to Campaign Trail Help or Hurt Democrats?

What happens if it doesn’t work and they keep losing?

If you know anything about President Obama, you know that he loves to campaign and he’s quite good at it. He loves speaking to adoring crowds of fans, and answering softball questions from his disciples in the press.

Obama signaled his eminent return to politics by weighing in on the special election in Georgia.

Politics USA reported:

Obama Jumps Into GA Special Election Race To Slam ‘Shameful’ GOP Voter Suppression Tactics

Just a day before voters in Georgia’s sixth congressional district will choose between underdog Democrat Jon Ossoff and Trump-supported Republican Karen Handel, former President Barack Obama jumped into the race to slam GOP efforts to suppress the vote.

Responding to an ad being run in Georgia by pro-Trump group Great America Alliance, which “fraudulently” uses Obama’s voice from the audio version of his book “Dreams From My Father,” a spokesman for the 44th president said the radio spot “is a shameful, indefensible tactic that should never be heard on the public airwaves.”

That was just a test run. The race where Obama is expected to really get involved is the next race for governor in Virginia. The Huffington Post reports:

All That Stands Between Democrats And A Massive Freakout Is This Man

Having lost a series of tantalizingly close congressional elections, the Democratic Party has now placed the fate of its collective psyche in the hands of an unassuming, soft-spoken pediatric neurologist.

Virginia Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam says he feels no enhanced pressure to win his gubernatorial race this fall, even though his will be most high-profile contest since Democrats lost the much-watched special election in Georgia’s 6th District.

“You always feel pressure,” he told HuffPost in an interview. “If you’re not feeling pressure then you’re not out there to win. And we plan to win in November.”

But while Northam may be playing it cool, he’s not being complacent. His campaign has plans to canvass the state, from the wealthy northern suburbs to coal country in the southwest. And they’re bringing along the big guns, too. Former President Barack Obama is expected to make his return to electoral politics this fall to join him on the trail, both Northam and Obama’s office confirmed.

Obama has also been unable to remain silent on the efforts to repeal Obamacare, his signature legislative achievement as president. He recently wrote on Facebook:

Our politics are divided. They have been for a long time. And while I know that division makes it difficult to listen to Americans with whom we disagree, that’s what we need to do today.

I recognize that repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act has become a core tenet of the Republican Party. Still, I hope that our Senators, many of whom I know well, step back and measure what’s really at stake, and consider that the rationale for action, on health care or any other issue, must be something more than simply undoing something that Democrats did.

We didn’t fight for the Affordable Care Act for more than a year in the public square for any personal or political gain – we fought for it because we knew it would save lives, prevent financial misery, and ultimately set this country we love on a better, healthier course.

Nor did we fight for it alone. Thousands upon thousands of Americans, including Republicans, threw themselves into that collective effort, not for political reasons, but for intensely personal ones – a sick child, a parent lost to cancer, the memory of medical bills that threatened to derail their dreams.

There are two issues connected to Obama’s return to politics which should concern Democrats. First, if he doesn’t help their efforts and they keep losing, how are they going to ask him to go away?

Second, and more importantly, the longer Obama remains in the political spotlight, the more difficult it’s going to be for new stars to rise in the Democratic Party. They need new blood desperately, the current heavy hitters in the party are senior citizens.

Well, I have to admit, you’ve changed my opinion, Mike. I was hoping Obo the Clown would disappear, and stop annoying me. But now, I’m thinking maybe he should stay around and finish the job of destroying the Dimocrat party.

I just have one request – stop including a picture of his ugly mug in your LI blog posts!

Ditto to Rinardman: No more pictures of that s.o.b., please.

We were oppressed by that anti-American slug for 8 years.
No more pictures of wannabe dictators who sign laws passed on Christmas Eve on a 51-49 margin, that take away our rights to decide on medical insurance for ourselves. Life and death.

Old0311 in reply to Close The Fed. | June 23, 2017 at 9:45 am

It’s just negative reinforcement of the bad things we experienced during those eight years. A gentle reminder of what the bird said…Nevermore!

Perhaps a picture of kittens? Everyone loves kitty pictures, and they are soothing.

No, please don’t do that! Because if you do, then every time we see a kitten (or picture of one), we’ll think of Obama, and then we’ll start to hate kittens!!!

(It’s like the old Ogden Nash poem that goes something like, “Everyone told me to eat rattlesnake, because they said it tastes like chicken. So I did. Now I don’t eat chicken, because it tastes like rattlesnake.”)

Thanks! LOL Never heard that Ogden Nash poem before.

Seriously? Obama “campaigning” for Democrats? It never worked for them in the past. Seriously, study Obama’s past. Obama never won a single election own his own. (2008 and 2012 don’t count, since “post turtles” like Oldbama don’t count!)

Obama loves to talk about himself, to make himself the center of focus. In that respect his return to the public stage doesn’t help LibDems.

The Dems can’t get their left out of the way to make a “return”. The first thing they need to return to is their name—Democratic—which they no longer are. The left is hell bent on socialism and calling it democratic. Well, democracies usually die from suicide and socialism kills. Repeating history is no future.

So the Republicans used “shameful” suppression tactics according to this guy in GA 6? Will he blame God next for suppression of democrat votes because of the rain which “dampened” their enthusiasm for Ossoff?

Obama campaigned for a number of people during his term. How well did that work out?

Obama is far Left. In order to become more palatable to the American voter, the Democratic Party needs to move ever so slightly to the right. Depending on a former Leftist Progressive President as your party leader is not helpful to their cause. The Democrats will certainly move further Left or risk alienating the growing millennial Bernie wing. Further alienating the American voter is the Democrats embracing of Sanctuary city policies and their blind support for Muslim extremism.

Good luck, Lefties. Gonna need it.

Close The Fed in reply to Redneck Law. | June 23, 2017 at 9:05 am

Even if they move slightly to the right, it won’t help.

    Why?

Because NO ONE WILL BELIEVE THEM.

Ossoff tried it. His first ads didn’t even mention his party, he went on and on about cutting waste and “working with anybody” to do it.

But when we found out he was a dem, we knew he was lying and as soon as he got elected, the GOP would become satan to him, and we all know, it’s immoral to work with satan.

A PAC has been running ads for Joe Donnelly here in IN that sound almost word for word like Trumps campaign.

Evan Bayh was good for that too. Never mention that he was a Democrat, and hit on most of the Republican platform

Thanks to Trumps popularity and Hillary flooding the airwaves with anti-Trump ads every 10 minutes for months, it didn’t work out for them in 2016 when Bayh and every other statewide Democrat got shellacked at the polls.

Donnelly will be gone, gone, gone in 2018

nordic_prince | June 23, 2017 at 9:00 am

Good grief, so sick of that effing liar’s voice. My dream is that he’d go swimming with cement shoes.

    notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to nordic_prince. | June 23, 2017 at 4:06 pm

Same here. Just console yourself with the knowledge that Obama is now the Democrat Party’s Official Goober-Sucka!

“we fought for it because we knew it would save lives, prevent financial misery, and ultimately set this country we love on a better, healthier course.”

Well, Obumbler was wrong, as it turns out. The PPACA has made health insurance unaffordable in nearly the entire country. But he’ll never admit that.

Congress should just let it go on until the DemocRats wake up and realize something has to be done to fix the problem. Right now they’re all in denial.

Of course at the rate they’re going PPACA is dying faster than the process is moving to fix it.

Comrade Sheikh Buraq is positioning himself to receive an invitation to return for another term in office as president, making the country an offer they potentially cant refuse. He’ll return to the office, restore peace and tranquillity, if the people accept Sharia Law, Marxist principles and appoint him president and dictator for life, or until the national emergency is over.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller, following the principles laid down by Lavrenti Beria, “Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime” is doing the preliminary groundwork for that offer.

Just like his Presidency, Obama will do whatever he is paid to do. I can’t help but wonder what gig he had lined up with Hillary or the EU, UN that he now has to replace. My guess is he was planning an “Obama Climate Foundation” that would get a share of US Billions committed to the Paris Agreement and $B slush funds that Trump has eliminated in State Dept. and Justice.

Obama’s return will comfort the Left, but change nothing.

A trail of tears… from Somalia to Libya to Ukraine to our own neck of the woods.

“As long as Obama is in the room, he’ll take up all the oxygen and deprive up-and-comers from the attention they’ll need to advance.”

Although certainly true, it understates the problem for Democrats. It has been my opinion from day one that Obama’s plan was to use the POTUS as a stepping stone to a “higher” level. I always thought that this was the Clinton plan as well. They are part of a global effort to bring about a NWO where nations are deemed obsolete and so are subsumed by a new government.

The Clintons did it with their CGI racket and we are witnessing how entrenched their talons are on the Deep State. We are watching a special prosecutor and verious Congressional committees and the MSM crawl over a preponderance of incriminating evidence in their effort to find even a whiff of anything they could get on Trump. That isn’t exactly conspiracy theory. The Clintons are untouchable.

Obama is very popular globally and if you pay attention, everything he says is tailored to address a global audience. He is speaking PAST the American citizenry and building a global base for….. something. In the meantime, he is holding the Democratic party hostage to…. something.

I would not be surprised if in the struggle for who wins the grand prize as global leader, Obama takes out the Clintons out of his way by getting them imprisoned. After all, it looks like the Democratic Party’s solution to Pelosi’s whack-job left-wing progressivism will be even further left-wing.

This may sound crazy but ten years ago I was describing pretty close what we are witnessing today and being called a whack-job conspiracy theorist. Let’s not be afraid to think the unthinkable. Where we are today was unthinkable less than two years ago. It may seem sudden but this has been in the works for decades. Now take it one more step. Crazy?

If they don’t have the backing of the military or the police, they can’t stage a coup by force. So they have to do it by perverting legal structures which already exist.

That’s not a very strong limitation. Adolf did it, with only the mildest perversions of the Weimar constitution. But the basic framework has to be in place already in order for someone to pervert it. Otherwise, we’d be considering conquest, not coup; and Obama’s no conquerer. He’s a snake, not a lion.

So. There is no legal structure for the New World Order actually in place. There is a stifling jungle of treaties, with the control nexus in Belgium, but despite the best efforts to spread fertilizer worldwide, that jungle hasn’t managed to overgrow anything larger than Europe. It simply doesn’t have a stranglehold anywhere in Asia, Africa, or the New World (with the possible exception of Canada). Therefore, Obama can’t bamboozle his way into a position of central authority, as such a position doesn’t exist. Obama’s bosses are likewise helpless. They’ll be able to control a great deal of international money, but that’s not enough.

“So. There is no legal structure for the New World Order actually in place.”

True enough but that is the whole point of TTIP, TPP, NAFTA, the multinational global warming agreements, the annual WHO warning for this year’s global flu, the coordination of monetary policies by the central banks, and so on.

All of these are irons in the fire to bring about one world government. The scariest one is the one that no one even talks about, the merger of central banks into one. Think Goldman Sachs and how the global banking system is pretty much being run by their alumni.

I think you are underestimating the value of Obama to these globalists. Snake or not, Obama is a very effective spokesman, very seductive. And while the world is being mesmerized by him, the mechanics are putting the machine in place.

Trump has done absolutely nothing to impede that progress. Our government (country) has ground to a completely halt right on the edge of a cliff. Will Trump be able to pull us back or will he just delay the inevitable. He can’t do it by himself. We need some patriots to step up and help him. It’s not happening so far. That’s why I hope that this is what Mueller will deliver. He is in the best position to root out the Deep State Octopus.

        PARIS ACCORD

True enough but that is the whole point of TTIP, TPP, NAFTA, the multinational global warming agreements, the annual WHO warning for this year’s global flu, the coordination of monetary policies by the central banks, and so on.

Certainly. They’re trying, but they haven’t tightened the noose yet. Trump just pulled America’s head out of one of those nooses when he blew off the Paris Climate con. He’ll have to stay on his toes, but he’s doing pretty well so far at clearing some of the booby traps that Obama and his handlers set.

So, there’s no job for Obama to step in to, not even a decent figurehead position. I don’t see him doing the internationalists much good; he can deliver the vote of anti-white racists in America, but that’s of little consequence on a planetary scale.

I’m always a bit skeptical of these New World Order conspiracy theories. There may well be some crazy cabal headed by some guy with a white Persian cat on his lap pulling the strings, but if they exist, they are remarkably ineffective. They aren’t getting anywhere. Global monetary schemes are the natural progression of both capitalism and socialism/communism, so how do we figure out which one is “evil”?

An actual thing to worry about: the EU building its own military to enforce its pro-Islamist worldview.

Sure, America has footed the bill for the defense of European countries for decades, but we did that for a very real reason. If we’re in charge of EU security, we don’t have to worry about . . . . do I need to finish that sentence?

American interests are best served when we are in charge. We have not been under Obama, and frankly, we are not under Trump.

I’m investing in popcorn futures in anticipation of the burgeoning battle within the Democrat Party to oust the loser old-timers so their loser young-timers can take control of the party for 2018 and beyond.

So who are the so-called Young Democrats? Don’t you think they are the Bernie Wing?

Any further move to the left is going to be good for the conservative Right. (Now, if we can just get some of the old guard RINOs retired to the pasture . . .)
