Iran Threatens U.S With a “Slap in the Face”

An Iranian commander with the Revolutionary Guard has threatened America with a “slap in the face” should she underestimate’s the regime’s military.

From Reuters:

“The enemy should not be mistaken in its assessments, and it will receive a strong slap in the face if it does make such a mistake,” said General Mohammad Pakpour, head of the Guards’ ground forces, quoted by the Guards’ website Sepahnews.

“The message of these exercises … for world arrogance is not to do anything stupid,” said Pakpour, quoted by the semi-official news agency Tasnim.

“Everyone could see today what power we have on the ground.” The Guards said they test-fired “advanced rockets” and used drones in the three-day exercises which were held in central and eastern Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard spent three days performing military “exercises with rockets, artillery, tanks and helicopters.”

President Donald Trump’s administration put the Iranian regime “on notice” and warned the regime would face consequences after it performed a ballistic missile test in defiance of a UN resolution.

Iran brushed aside the administration’s threats:

“This is not the first time that an inexperienced person has threatened Iran,” [President Adviser Ali Akbar] Velayati said. “Iran is the strongest power in the region and has a lot of political, economic and military power … America should be careful about making empty threats to Iran.”

He added: “Iran will continue to test its capabilities in ballistic missiles and Iran will not ask any country for permission in defending itself.”

The Treasury Department passed new sanctions against Iran over the missile test in January. The sanctions targeted “individuals and companies connected to Iran’s ballistic missile program and those providing support to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Qods Force.”

Officials made sure the sanctions did not violate the Iran nuclear deal.

But tensions continue to rise between Iran and Israel, which could also see force from the regime:

As tensions also mounted with Israel, a military analyst at Tasnim said that Iran-allied Hezbollah could use Iranian made Fateh 110 missiles to attack the Israeli nuclear reactor at Dimona from inside Lebanon.

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said last Thursday that his group, which played a major role in ending Israel’s occupation of Lebanon, could strike Dimona.

“Since Lebanon’s Hezbollah is one of the chief holders of the Fateh 110, this missile is one of main alternatives for targeting the Dimona installations,” Hossein Dalirian said in a commentary carried by Tasnim.

Jumped up camel drover.

Be advised, Ayatollah Assahollah, another country called Japan gave us a slap. A very hard slap…and they lived to regret it very, very much.

We all know where this is going eventually…

I guess Iran paid no attention to what happened to Iraqs incredible Military force.

Trump will protect Israel…

I don’t want to get bogged down in additional wars in the Middle East, we could take out Iraq completely by air, the loss of life would be horrendous, but I am so sick of Iraq, ever since Carter and the Embassy .

If the people of Iraq rise up again, we now have a President that will help.

I am so sick of the ME… fu$k them all except for Israel, Jordan and Egypt.

i agree BUT you are conflating Iraq and Iran.

both are a pain in the butt, both need to understand how the USA
can utterly destroy them – under Obama ‘leading with his behind’
policy these countries underestimated our strength and DJT’s will
    to succeed.

Something to consider: The US military draws up contingency plans for quite nearly every possible situation. Heck, they’re got one for invading Canada, for heaven’s sake. These plans are taken off the shelf every so often, checked against current forces and deployments, revised for the existing conditions, and returned to storage.

I would bet cold, hard cash that the “Expend about a thousand cruise missiles and various smart munitions to turn Iran’s petrol production capacity into flaming wreckage and block every port overnight” plan is currently being examined *very* carefully in the event it needs to be used suddenly. After all, some of those cruise missiles are getting old, and really need to be recycled and replaced.

Not that I think it will happen. The Iranians would have to be *very* stupid in order for… um… Well…

Beware asymmetric warfare. One has to assume Iranian Quds forces have been smuggled into the country with suitable arms. One word to remember…Beslin…. Suppose Iran countered with taking hostage several dozen elementary schools threatening to kill all the children if we attack Iran. Think of poisoning water supplies. The cold reality would be to swallow hard…risk hundreds of children’s lives and blow Iran off the map if that happened. Are we in a position with present social softness to hold fast or flinch? The Iranians are willing to kill and DIE …..are American citizens capable of staring down another 911 to hold firm?

We don’t know what condition US armed forces are in. Obama had eight years to inflict his social justice experiments (i.e., convert them all into big summer camps and gay bars), and it could take a little time to put them back into working order.

Iran will fold before any world power if/when shit gets serious – US, Russia, China, etc.

Iran rattles a saber for the benefit of the new US president. To Iran, it must seem like Santa Claus has been replaced by the Grinch.

It will go something like this:

well I did say Iran initially lol, not sure how that got changed into Iraq

We do have some real-world data for this.

Iran and Iraq fought for eight years, 1980 to 1988. Result? Not much more than a pile of dead bodies, about half a million of them. Neither country managed to make really decisive headway against the other at any point.

That same Iraqi military machine was handily defeated in 1991, and destroyed in 2003. Iran couldn’t do the job, but it was no challenge for the US and some other incorrigibly Western nations. The implication is that these same Western powers could do exactly the same to Iran, and with the same ease. It’s not just logical, it’s bloody obvious; even the Persians must realize that the same Revolutionary fervor which failed to overwhelm Iraq in the 1980-88 war will also fail to overwhelm anyone of consequence.

In other words, Iran’s just making noise. We know it, they know it. Noise might be enough when dealing with a geopolitical weenie like Obama, but it’s rash to assume that the new sharif in town will be so easily bamboozled.

So, they must think that something has changed in their favor. It ain’t nukes; despite Obama’s best efforts, the Persians don’t have those yet. Russia? The Russian presence in the area is stronger than it used to be—again, thanks to Obamamian clumsiness—and perhaps the Persians think they can maneuver Putin into protecting them the same way China protects the Norks. Or perhaps Muslim infiltration of the American political and military establishments has proceeded further than we realize, and the Iranians believe that this fifth column is ready to come to the rescue.

I guess they never learned you don’t bring a palm to a gun fight.

Only sissy boys slap.
