Kellyanne Conway Makes Mincemeat of Mike Barnicle Over Confirmation Process

Kellyanne Conway Makes Mincemeat of Mike Barnicle Over Confirmation Process

Mike makes mistake of messing with Kellyanne without having his ducks in a row

Mike Barnicle learned a lesson the hard way this morning: don’t challenge Kellyanne Conway without having all your ducks in a row. It won’t end well. On Morning Joe, the subject was the Trump plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. Barnicle snidely asked Conway “now, do you or do you not have a replacement plan ready to go, ramped up, ready to go, say tomorrow?” When Conway pointed out that there wasn’t a confirmed HHS Secretary in place and that she hoped that the Senate Democrats would cooperate on timely and fair hearings, Barnicle sarcastically responded: “so you’re asking the Democrats to be as fair as the Republicans were” at the beginning of the Obama administration?

Conway pounced. Interjecting “they were very fair,” Conway had at her fingertips the fact that President Obama had seven of his cabinet nominees confirmed on the day he was inaugurated in 2009, and five more within the week. She also cited chapter and verse on the numerous cabinet appointees that were promptly confirmed at the beginning of George W’s administration. It was a bravura performance, and Barnicle was heard no more on the subject.

Note: the articles in The Hill and the Washington Post cited by Conway, as well as this one in Politico, report that under Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Democrats intend to slow walk the confirmation process, drawing it out into March. WaPo describes the Dem plan as “an unprecedented break with Senate tradition.”

MIKE BARNICLE: Now, do you or do you not have a replacement plan ready to go, ramped up, ready to go, say tomorrow?

KELLYANNE CONWAY: We have pieces of it that we need to —

BARNICLE: — pieces.

CONWAY: Well, we don’t have an HHS Secretary confirmed yet. Go ask Minority Leader Schumer and the rest if they’re going to give him a fair hearing, if they’re even going to meet with him. I mean, we’re ready to go. But we’re not the only party; we’re certainly the majority party. We need some help and we need some assistance by the Democrats to at least be fair and have meetings and of course timely and fair.

BARNICLE: So you’re asking the Democrats to be as fair as the Republicans were

CONWAY: — they were very fair. Excuse me, President Obama had seven of his cabinet members confirmed on January 20, 2009, his inauguration day. Are you going to guarantee me the same courtesy? It doesn’t sound that way if you read The Hill and the Washington Post, yesterday. And then he had five more that week. President Bush had nine his first week. He had State and Defense and Ag and Commerce and Education and Energy and Treasury. Are we going to have that? It doesn’t seem that way.

Damn those pesky facts again.

Barnicle has a long history of being an utter sleaze. As a columnist for the Boston Globe he developed a reputation as a plagiarist and fabricator. He covered for both Billy and Whitey Bulger as a writer. He was only fired after the Globe let go black columnists for similar transgressions and slandering Alan Dershowitz on behalf of Billy Bulger. Of course they used a subsequent plagiarism as a pretense.

So true… Mikey was a leader of the “Whitey kept the drugs out of Southie” brigade when the truth was the exact opposite.

Of coursed Mikey has always viewed himself as a Southie tough guy even when he lived in Lincoln MA an uber rich, leafy, liberal bastion outside of Boston.

In all fairness to Mike “The Plagiarist” Barnicle, it’s not fair to pick on an unarmed man (aka a moron).

Mike going into a battle of wits unarmed…again.

She torched him….

Gotta love this woman, and even more so the fact that she’s on our side.

The point I was trying to make is that the face that he is still employed in the media speaks disgraceful volumes.

I just live, love, love it when Kellyanne slices these patronizing lefty midgets to pieces!! So superior they are. So informed they act. So gnat size of mind. So mendacious of blather. “That’s ALL you got, Sonny?” Kellyanne’s look says. Love it!!

So, when are we going to start hearing the Democrats being referred to as the “Party of No?”

It looks like msnbc is going to have to do what NPR did and that is to no longer allow LIVE interviews with conservatives. After a heart ripping interview with a conservative on NPR, the interviewer was so badly destroyed that the manager of the network decided that his pack of liars were no match for smart people with facts. msnbc should go to the tape so that they can reconstruct the conversation to match their views.

Nailed to the wall with facts. What a horrible thing to do to a liberal news interviewer (but I repeat myself)

Somehow I don’t think this is the kind of ‘Kick them in the teeth and smile’ response to being slimed that Mit Romney or McCain’s representative would have done in this situation.

Good.

Kellyanne isn’t a blonde joke.

Old rule Mike: If you don’t know what that button does don’t push it.

She did a great job, but she left-out what should be the standard answer: “You do realize that there was health care and heath insurance in this country before Obamacare was forced upon us against the will of the American People…Right? There is no NEED for a ‘replacement’, heath insurance never should have been destroyed in the first place!”

She is very impressive.

Maybe she should be the first woman President.

Replace? JHC….whatTF don’t these people understand?

I don’t want to hear another darn thing about replacing Obamacare. Repeal it in its entirety, then go from there.
