Sign of trouble for Hillary in PA

Sign of trouble for Hillary in PA

James Carville, call your office.

In 2008, James Carville famously quipped that Pennsylvania is “Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama in Between.”

Reader Winthrop was recently driving through Pipersville, north of Philadelphia on the way towards Allentown. I’m not sure if that’s technically the Alabama part of Pennsylvania, but this street certainly is:

Hope expressed in this Hillary sign. Only one Hillary supporter sign seen, quite a few Trump supporters in western NJ and in nearby PA, based on yard signs.

In the last election a number of precincts in Philly recorded ZERO votes for Romney. Imagine that. Not a single person, not even by mistake, voted for the republican. Makes you say “hmmmmmmm.”

Mack trucks are built around Allentown. Brockway trucks were built there for a while, before going belly up.

It’s a pretty area, as I recall, and very Rust-belt in its feel.

If it is rust belt, does this mean they give out free tetanus shots for the occasional pricks in the voting booth?

That is simply not true. There were no voting precincts in the country in which Obama received zero votes in 2016, which doesn’t impugn the Philadelphia precincts, just you.

“Precincts in Texas” not registering a single vote for Obama…would be where I want to live.

I live in a Philly suburb and support Trump, but no way am I putting a Trump sign on my property- it will be an invitation to vandalize. There are a LOT of us here in PA-we will all show up on election day and wont the Shillary camp be surprised.

I really want to tell you to put up a Trump sign on your worst neighbor’s lawn LizaB……but I won’t.

Allentown is indeed “rust belt” but many of the churches have been converted to mosques.

Two years ago I went into a bar I had frequented just a decade ago. There was a short line and a delay to get in – place is so rough now that the bouncers frisk all customers thoroughly on the way in. They took one look at me and said, “you’re in the wrong place”, I looked past them into the bar and realized they were right – turned around and left.

City used to be populated by men like the Archie Bunker character on “All in the family”, and there are still duplexes all over that resemble his house on the show. Now though, the population bears more of a resemblance to that in Mogadishu.

Trump held a rally in Lancaster PA last night.
The Amish showed up to support Trump.
