Obamacare Architect Jonathan Gruber: Obamacare “Working as Designed”

As we’ve long said about Obamacare — rising costs and the destruction of the health insurance marketplace are a feature of the President’s hallmark administration, not a bug.

Jonathan Gruber, Obamacare architect agrees.

In an interview with CNN Wednesday, Gruber explained Obamacare was, “working as designed”.

From The Washington Times:

MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber infamously told an audience at the University of Pennsylvania in November 2014 that Democrats required “the stupidity of the American voter” for Obamacare to become law.

The White House’s announcement that premium increases up to 25 percent await Americans in 2017 brought Mr. Gruber into the limelight once again this week, where he told CNN’s Carol Costello there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the program.

“There’s no sense in which it needs to be fixed,” Mr. Gruber said. “The law is working as designed. However, it could work better.”

How can it work better? He answers “I think probably the most important thing experts would agree on is that we need a larger mandate penalty. We have individuals who are essentially free-riding on the system. They’re essentially waiting until they get sick and then getting health insurance.”

In other words, raise the fines — “taxes,” the Supreme Court called them in upholding the constitutionality of the individual mandate — for not having an Obamacare-compliant health-insurance plan.

Raise the non-insured penalty? Given astronomical premium increases, that would have to be one stiff penalty.

The interview:

At least someone out there advocating for Obamacare is telling the truth. Too bad we’re still getting screwed.

Now, THAT…rat thar…

THAT is some gas-lighting.

With Kryponite gas.

“And if you’ve got health care, we’re going to work with your employer to lower your premiums by $2,500 per family per year.” March 14, 2008. Later: “I also have a plan that would save the average family $2,500 on their premiums.” — Sen Barack Obama, May 3, 2008.

But hay. Once the Federal Reserve destroys the value of the dollar, who is going to care about the price of ObamaCare anyway.

Democrats required “the stupidity of the American voter” for Obamacare to become law

A strict party-line vote isn’t a function of stupidity, but of politics.

At the political level, stupidity or criminal corruption may well be involved.

Jonathan Gruber is so full of shit.

LI has great posters!

The above 4 posts Ragspierre, Neo, tom swift, Exiliado

This this situation is completely covered.

Gas-lighting, Obama lying, Democrats screwing us, and the best for last the Architect of Obama care described perfectly!

Super job LI posters!!

What about the people who can’t afford the premiums, and make just a little too much to get subsidies. Who’s deductibles are too high to afford care. People who fall between the cracks are having their lives ruined. Stupid people who work hard and play by the rules. The economy is running with the emergency brake on because of Obamacare. Many good people are being hurt for a Progressive pipe dream. EVIL

People who are bounced out of Medicaid because they make too much income are told to cut back on their hours so they’ll continue to qualify for benefits. This is a true story. It happened to a friend of mine and she’ll probably float around uncovered while they wait to fix this mess.
