At best this means that some FBI bureaucrats fear that Trump will win.
Hillary will walk, again.

At least 50-50 they have found someone who will throw himself under the bus to exonerate HRC in some strange and weird manner. Said sacrificial lamb to be pardoned by President HRC, and guaranteed lifetime employment by the CGI.

Must be some really incriminating stuff for this baby to be exhumed. And it certainly gives Comey a chance to rescue his reputation from the trash bin….

    Olinser in reply to bt1. | October 28, 2016 at 5:50 pm

    No it doesn’t.

This just provides even more concrete proof that Comey is a piece of shit that didn’t do his job the first time.

This makes Comey’s reputation even worse.

It MIGHT salvage a little of the FBI’s reputation as a whole.

DieJustAsHappy | October 28, 2016 at 1:33 pm

“In connection with an unrelated case …” Sure would like to know what this might be. Was in my car when I hear the news of the re-opening. Nearly wrecked.

Oh great! Thanks a lot. Now Media Matters and Eric Boehlert will be claiming this fake investigation should be dropped because over 45,000 Americans die in traffic accidents.

What? You don’t care about the death of 45,000 fellow Americans?

I’m gonna take a wild guess that it will take them at least 10 days to complete this “additional work.”

Sorry, but I refuse to get my hopes up. It may simply be Comey’s way of trying to quell the anger and frustration within the FBI’s investigative ranks. And then after the election, it won’t matter and Comey can again say there’s nothing there.

Obama’s final act will be to pardon Hillary right before she is sworn in.

The thought of it makes me want to vomit.

I’ll say it just for my own personal satisfaction and ego, not out of any special knowledge: given how Comey has made the legal case that Hillary would have to intend to transmit information classified at a high level with the direct, provable goal of having it land in Vladimir Putin’s email inbox, what difference could it possibly make? And if no determination has been made that there’s even anything worth caring about, why announce it at this time? It makes no sense, because the idea Comey is searching to restore the FBI’s reputation is, frankly, laughable. And I laugh at it here and now. Comey’s position is secure, so… why?

Won’t matter, she has a briefcase full of blank pardons signed by Bill.

legacyrepublican | October 28, 2016 at 2:05 pm

This means only one thing.

Tell Trump now! James O’Keefe for our new FBI director!!

holdingmynose | October 28, 2016 at 2:07 pm

Comey has to hurry and immunize Ill-ary and her minnions just in case Trump wins. Also more cash to be had for FBI higher-ups’spouses.

I don’t understand the logic behind reopening the cover up unless this is Comey’s way of demanding a bigger bribe.

Semper Why in reply to irv. | October 28, 2016 at 10:11 pm

Perhaps it’s a last-ditch attempt to keep his subordinates from making his day-to-day work environment a living hell? The dude has to work with these people, after all, and reporting has indicated that they’re mighty pissed with him.

Lucy’s still holding the football, trying to coax Charlie Brown into taking just one more kick. Don’t expect any Sports Illustrated cover-photo action.

We’ve all been treated to a recent display of the quality of work we can expect from the FBI. The only agents willing to see the job done are the ones who are already safely retired. Hillary, Huma, Mills, the whole pit of vipers; all entirely safe.

Probably too little, too late.

Comey’s reputation should remain in tatters no matter what happens now.

As much as this news brings me joy, my feelings are tempered with a sense that this is more Washington Kabuki Theater being used to entertain us peasants. We shall see.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to Leslie Eastman. | October 28, 2016 at 4:06 pm

I hear ya’. Yet, if this investigation was re-opened with a result of a Hillary Clinton exoneration, the response would be such to make the nuke image pale by contrast.

Henry Hawkins | October 28, 2016 at 2:44 pm

It may be that Comey’s FBI has discovered even more evidence proving criminal intent, so much he cannot ignore it because he believes it will become public, possibly via his own disgruntled staff. It doesn’t hurt that it gives Comey a chance to rehab his trashed reputation. Lie down with dogs….

So, Comey reopens, but nobody expects resolution by November 8th. After the election, no matter who wins only about 25% of Americans will still give a crap about it, while a host of new media stories, threads, and memes will begin surrounding the president-elect and the Death Of (plug in losing Party). It’ll fade away.

The reason why the FBI reopened the case is simple. All you have to do is listen to what they’re going to say about it until after November 8.

“We cannot comment on any case under investigation.”

In short, by opening a criminal investigation, they make it a criminal act to leak any of the information involved. And you can bet *those* leakers won’t be off the hook due to lack of ‘intent.’

Yeah, it still has to get by the gatekeeper, Lynch.

Sorry, quick finger above. In addition, this will give the H camp and followers the opportunity to cry “war on women” and paint her as the poor, beleaguered bastion of womanhood being attacked by those awful, white dinosaurs.

If HRC wins she will be unable to govern.

There’s a word for that—illegitimacy—and I expect that she will be regarded by a huge chunk of the electorate as illegitimate if she wins.

This investigation can only conclude after the election. If she wins, no one will trust the investigation’s outcome. And if, in the unlikely event that such an investigation recommends prosecution, she will exercise the right to pardon herself.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to (((Boogs))). | October 28, 2016 at 6:24 pm

Lack of legitimacy is less of a problem if you don’t feel like you are bound by the constraints of the law and Constitution. If you believe that power makes up for legitimacy [Oderint dum Metuant] you will rule by any means necessary.

I can see easily Hillary as an older, female, Caligula; with brain damage from strokes, Stage 3 or 4 Parkinson’s Disease, and Diphasic Dyskinesia from prolonged Levadopa dosage.

I’m sure the media is already doing the vastrightwingagistsexistconspiracyBUT,TRUMP! thing. So predictable.

Bonus: It seems the new emails under review are tied to Anthony Wiener. You cannot make this up.

thalesofmiletus | October 28, 2016 at 3:45 pm

This will go the same place the last one went. “Oh, too bad we gave all those people immunity for no good reason…”

Henry Hawkins | October 28, 2016 at 3:46 pm

As I recall, when Trump was asked comment on the breakup of Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner, Trump said she was smart to do so, that there was no telling what would happen if Hillary allowed Weiner to access classified material.

If my memory is correct, expect to read that tweet or whatever it was about 10,000 times in the next 10 days.

Wouldn’t it be wild if Trump wins cause of Anthony Wiener?

Semper Why in reply to Leslie Eastman. | October 28, 2016 at 4:17 pm

I think it would be @#?!! hilarious if the first female POTUS was derailed by a randy penis. It will be worth the feminist screaming for the next four years.

DieJustAsHappy | October 28, 2016 at 3:55 pm

I wonder if there any persons out there with early-voter remorse?

Once upon a time a paid off dirty cop would stay bought off. I wonder what bases Comey is trying to cover now?

No intent to distribute classified information… so no crime… IF your last name is Clinton, a close associate or Democrat. Putin must be grinning from ear to ear…. as Napoleon said, “don’t interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake.” The FBI is still the Keystone Kops.

This just in Hillary serts fire to plane on at O’Hare
in a desperate “look squirell” attempt. Actually seriously there is aplane on fire at O’Hare.

From the gatewaypundit Hillary Got schlonged!

Just waiting for Ragsy to show up and say how this is less important than Trump groping all those women who seem to have crawled back under the rock they came from.

Ragspierre in reply to RodFC. | October 28, 2016 at 6:53 pm

I love that I live rent free in your weak lil’ mind, Rod The Liar.

I dunno what any of this means as yet, but I do know that Da Pig is a serial sexual predator, just like Dollar Bill (who he used to defend, while trashing the women, just like you, you scum). So does anyone with a brain.

This is just a review of new material. The issues are 1) whether that review would cause the investigators to change their opinions as to whether a crime occurred and 2) whether that in turn would cause Mr. Comey to recommend to the DoJ that a prosecution go forward. Now I’m not sure about #1, but I’m pretty comfortable that Mr. Comey isn’t going to change his stance, and most certainly won’t do so before 11/9.

This comes too late to have an impact on the election. And that’s how it was planned. An indictment would have impressed people. But yet another investigation, after so many that — in the minds of the uninformed voter — produced no evidence of wrongdoing? Bah, it’s just that vast right-wing conspiracy again, everyone knows there’s no there there, they just hate her for some reason, maybe because she’s a woman, you just wait and see, nothing will come of it, but those Republican haters, they’ll go on hating.

Then once the election is over and she’s president elect, 0bama will pardon her and that will permanently end all investigations. And he’ll go down in history as a hero for this brave move, just like Ford was (the same people called him a villain at the time, but now they remember things differently).

I can’t help but think whatever was found on the blackberry, iPhone, laptop, tablet or whatever electronic device owned by Mrs. Weiner must be utterly and completely devastating. I find it hard to believe that whatever new material the FBI has recovered from the reported “thousands” of emails must be an honest to goodness smoking gun or the FBI would not make this decision so close to the election. Someone, maybe not Sec. Clinton, but someone is going to be facing charges.

A fifteen year old girl changes the world and we don’t even know her name.

Connivin Caniff | October 28, 2016 at 5:16 pm

I hope they tell parents to get the kids out of the room before they start identifying Anthony Weiner’s “electronic devices”.

Chris Matthews (yes, he does have some viewers) said that the Democrat ranking members also received copies of the letter. The copy of the letter posted above does not indicate that it was sent to any Dems.
Does anyone know if the Dems got a copy?

Who would have imagined that Hillary Clinton would be done in by, of all people, Mrs. Hillary Clinton?
