Hillary supporters play Rick Lazio Card on Trump after debate

Hillary supporters play Rick Lazio Card on Trump after debate

Accuse Trump of menacing Hillary during Second Debate, just like they did to Rick Lazio in 2000 and Bernie Sanders in 2016.

Hillary Clinton plays the part of the tough fighter, but in fact her campaign and supporters have a history accusing male candidate opponents of menacing her on the debate stage.

Most famously, that card was played against Rick Lazio from the 2000 New York Senate debate between Hillary Clinton and Rick Lazio? Lazio’s campaign all but collapsed after he approached Clinton at the podium with a copy of a “soft money” pledge and demanded she sign it. Of course, Lazio paid the price. Watch:

The 2000 Clinton Senate campaign—and the media—acted apalled:

Stung by apparent charges that he was too aggressive during last week’s New York Senate debate against Hillary Rodham Clinton, Rep. Rick Lazio said Tuesday such criticism of his behavior was “sexist.”

Lazio, the Republican nominee, left his podium during last week’s forum in Buffalo and strode over to Mrs. Clinton’s side of the stage brandishing what he said was a contract to ban soft money from the campaign. The first lady did not accept the offer.

After the event, Mrs. Clinton’s spokesman, Howard Wolfson, called Lazio’s behavior “menacing.”

Last Thursday, the first lady dismissed it with a jibe at Lazio, saying “the thing that probably prepared me best in dealing with things like that was having two younger brothers.”

Tuesday, Lazio responded during a campaign stop in Buffalo.

“The idea that somehow that there’s a double standard because you’re a man or a woman, and you can’t make a point forcefully if you’re a man, and the person you’re making the point with is a woman, I just think that’s sexist,” he told reporters.

Lazio added, “I don’t think people in the Senate worry about whether you’re a man or a woman.”

In response, Mrs. Clinton’s communications director, Howard Wolfson, said “Today the political world was rocked by the bizarre accusation that Rick Lazio has been the victim of sexism. Poor Rick. Let me be the first to offer him my support.”

Menacing. Remember that word.

The Rick Lazio card was played against Bernie Sanders during the 2016 primaries, Hillary Supporters Rush to Paint Bernie as 2016’s Rick Lazio:

Senator Sanders’ refusal to let Hillary Clinton interrupt him became one of the most circulated moments of Sunday night’s Democratic debate in Flint, Michigan. “Excuse me, I’m talking,” said Sanders.

Within moments, comparisons of failed Clinton Senate competitor, Rick Lazio, cluttered the internet.

Pro-Clinton group, Correct the Record, compiled a list of tweets making the comparison and sent an email which included the Bernie’s Lazio moment.

Hillary and her supporters are doing it again, this time with regard to Trump’s performance last night in the second debate, in which during one portion he stood behind her. The camera angles made is seem that he was closer than he actually was:

I first noticed the Rick Lazio Card being played as the debate was in progress, by Buzzfeed:

Huffington post created a “SuperCut” of Trump’s “lurking“:

Reporters on Hillary’s plane after the debate also asked Hillary about it. Her response was that he was “very present” and in her space:

That reporters urged Hillary to play the Rick Lazio Card says it all. After all, the media is Hillary’s base.

I have to wonder if this was a planned tactic since Hillary made it a point to stand in front of Trump’s podium. The only way he could have avoided this would have been to sit down while she was talking and lose the strong presence he was projecting.

Probably. She did hire psychiatrists to help her prepare for the debate.

Hillary stepped forward to address the audience member who asked a question.
Trump acedt like Harambe when on the stage with Hillary.
Trump is deranged and out of control.

She was just trying to get a phone number.

scaulen in reply to Lee Jan. | October 11, 2016 at 4:30 pm

Are you serious? I’m trying my best not to laugh at that comment but it’s hard not to. The orange oompa loompa was acting like Harambe? You do realize that Harambe was trying to protect the child that fell in the enclosure? I think you could have chosen something better then that, maybe that he was acting like a wild gorilla protecting his turf? Unless of course you are suggesting that Trump should have been shot like Harambe? You also do realize that all of you hacks trying to protect Hillary are just making her look weaker and less Presidential every day. I’ll stop before I’m accused of piling on.

What utter nonsense. This is a snowflake mind set.

Anyway it looks to me that Clinton walked to her right, right in front of Trump?

For gods sake this crooked women want to be our President?

All of this just shows that Trump had Crooked Hillay on defense most of the night.

The best line of the night:

“But Trump did have some striking moments. Prime among them was an exchange over Trump’s promise to seek a special prosecutor, if he were elected, to probe Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of State. Clinton said such a proposal proved it was a good thing he would never have such authority.”

“Because you’d be in jail,” Trump shot back.”

Wickileaks
Why is this receiving no attention?

The main reason behind successful immigration should be painfully obvious to even the most dimwitted of observers: Some groups of people are almost always highly successful given only half a chance (Jews*, Hindus/Sikhs and Chinese people, for example), while others (Muslims, blacks** and Roma***, for instance) fare badly almost irrespective of circumstances,” Hillary is quoted as saying in one of her speeches.

Word is out that this particular email might be a “poisoned skittle,” an email of unknown source, possibly from outside the organization. That and at least two others came from an unidentified email address and appear to be a bit nutty.

There are plenty of real emails from and to the insiders, so that there is no reason to bite on this particular one.

I had a time lag, so that quite by accident, I watched Hillary Clinton walk in front of Donald Trump, right after the tweet about DJT “looming.” I’ve seen this maneuver before, and in a more honest context, it is called “upstaging.” Performers consider it unethical. Both Hillary and DJT would know this. It was an aggressive and rude move by Hillary.

From the audience view, she was blocking him. Then there was a switch to a camera with a view from the side and back, exaggerating their difference in size, and making him look much closer than he really was. That is a very predictable result, ginned up by somebody’s selection of camera views. The person that did the tweets seemed preoccupied with this and once again, breathing sounds coming in from Trump’s microphone.

Why have we been told by feminists for years that women are just as tough and capable as men, if just given the chance to show they are.

A man stands near a woman on a stage, and all of a sudden, she’s weak and helpless?

One of the things I learned from trial advocacy classes and juror interviews post-trial is the literal “ball-room” dance that a good trial lawyer has to perform. For instance, you work hard at never turning your back to the jury.

I’m 6’4″, two-hundred and sixty (mumble) pounds. I have to be careful not to crowd the jury box when I argue, or ‘loom’ over a witness when I approach. I’ve been told I ‘intimidate’ jurors if I get too close, which is about the LAST thing I want.

Der Donald is either aware of this stuff from his exposure to TV, or he likes doing it. If Hellary moved in front of me, with a patented Der Donald scowl on my face, I’d move away from her. She wouldn’t get that advantage from me. I wouldn’t let her make me a prop.

That’s the price we pay when we disavow maleness in preference to empowered women.

Ragspierre in reply to MSO. | October 10, 2016 at 11:08 am

That’s utter bullshit. It’s more anthropological, and perfectly natural.

The same report also comes from men.

legacyrepublican in reply to Ragspierre. | October 10, 2016 at 12:55 pm

Donald may or may not know about it. I suspect he does.

But, your observations are spot on.

Personally, I think the whole thing was rigged.

The real questions I have that need to be asked is whether or not the Tally lights let Donald know which camera was live. And even if they did use Tally lights, there was no way for Der Donald to know if they have a tight one shot or was using instead a medium two shot without a monitor to make him look bad.

Given the bias of the media, whether or not tally lights were used, Der Donald was framed by the director the way he was for clearly for their purposes and it wouldn’t matter where he stood.

The bottom line is that townhall format last night was rigged and only helped them make Hillary look better no matter what T-Rump did.

If it had been me, I would have demanded a sit down format.

At the end of the day, his handlers need to wake up and start looking at what the MSM will do to them and prep for it a little better.

I was actually thinking of the Bush/Gore debate.

Poor, brave Hillary repeatedly placing herself in danger by walking near, horror of horror, a man. A foul mouthed dirty man who even acted like man. Paul Ryan would never be so uncouth as to act like a man when challenged by ‘the woman’.

Yes, we have progressed well beyond maleness here in America; we either act like a woman or we will be tossed into the bucket of deplorables.

Putin has yet to learn this lesson and Hillary is just the woman to put that man in his place.

Another interesting takeout from last night.

Apparently Tim Bone, the guy in the red sweater who asked the green energy question, asked Bill Clinton about the rapes after the debate and Clinton blew up.

Dueling Rumors late night. Some say the Hillary camp has another video and will drop it on Trump in the next 48 hours.Others are saying the same thing about the Trump camp. This could be interesting.

Also Anonymous is circulating a picture of Slick Willie in several photos many with a girl/woman and some with Epstein. In one there is a drawn arrow pointing at the girl. It has a caption warning the CTR that they know the name of the girl.

So if Hillary is to be our next president according to the media then why is she acting like she is losing. I wonder if their polling is showing something different.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | October 10, 2016 at 11:08 am

Recall that the Clinton campaign decided to use the word “dark” to describe Trump’s speech when he accepted the nomination at the convention. The media dutifully regurgitated the word “dark” in the headlines of most of the pieces they wrote about the speech.

Yes, the media are the most important SuperPAC Democrats have working for them.

I have to wonder how many people are thinking right now. “Oooh. Trump was mean because he `loomed’ over Hillary. This woman is going to protect us from ISIS?”

OMG! Trump invaded her safe space!!!

thalesofmiletus | October 10, 2016 at 11:36 am

All the more reason to NOT vote for Hillary. You think Kim Jong-un or ISIS is going to give a sh*t about Hillary’s “safe space”?

He was standing, and she walked in front of him, standing several feet in front. This looks like it was designed to produce that photo in which he looks like he’s menacingly approaching her, which is not the case. If she invades his half of the stage, what rule says he has to sit down?

Oh noes. Scott Adams endorses Gary Johnson!

http://blog.dilbert.com/post/151552548531/why-i-endorse-gary-johnson-this-week

That’s it. Now that Trump lost Adam’s he is sunk!

I think we give Clinton too much credit for stagecraft. This was a “town hall” format, where a small audience is right there in front of the candidates. I think it more likely that Clinton’s movements were in relation to the studio audience and without awareness of how it appeared to the TV audience (though the TV staff would certainly know how to frame a shot in support of this notion of Trump menacing Clinton). In a podium debate, both the cameras and the audience are directly in front of the candidates.

In the above article photo… is Trump checking out Hillary’s ass? lol, just kidding.

There is absolutely nothing Clinton could do to ever win my vote. Trump has one shot at winning my vote – if, during a debate, he walked right over to Hillary and grabbed her, um, cat, then walked over to whatever female Hillary shill moderator was present and did the same.

In the above article photo… is Trump checking out Hillary’s ass? lol, just kidding.

    Choose your answer–

    1) No. Trump has better taste.
    2) He’s thinking “well that explains Bill Clinton”.

Plus when yer hitting yer HAWT wife every night of the week you don’t go down a class to someone like hiLIARy 🙂

So what is she going to do when any male leader from another country approaches her? Is she going to hide behind her secret service detail and conduct negotiations through bullet proof glass?

I’m going to look through some old photos of Margaret Thatcher and Angela Merkel to see if they got intimidated by men being near them.

Honestly, how the hell did she get pregnant if shes petrified of a man being behind her?

If she can’t handle Trump on stage without whining like a baby, then how is she going to handle less than friendly world leaders?

Henry Hawkins in reply to Leslie Eastman. | October 10, 2016 at 4:50 pm

I’m 99.9% confident you know this, but Hillary can handle herself well enough with world leaders in terms of meetings and such (though she’ll get her butt kicked on the politics and diplomacy of it). Hers is just an act in support of the War On Women schtick.

This is the left doing what the left does best…being a bunch of fecking cry babies. Let them be sooks, because the longer they cry like babies the more they will be ignored.

Breaking form Wilileaks. Slick Willie and Chelsea drove a CF exec to drown herself!

Appears she walked into his space…then gassed him. The fly knows.

Don’t bother protesting against the house troll, calling him a Hillary shill and coward will get you blocked, while his rants are nurtured. This is a pro-Hillary site posing as some kind of conservative forum. What can you expect from lawyers I guess.

“This is a pro-Hillary site posing as some kind of conservative forum. What can you expect from lawyers I guess.”

Rather unfair Jack. Not being “pro Trump” is not the same thing as being pro-Hillary. Even being anti trump is not being pro-Hillary.

There are several contributors that are pro Trump, some that seem neutral (to me anyway), and some that obviously hate trump. That is a long way from being pro Hillary.

jack burns in reply to Barry. | October 10, 2016 at 11:05 pm

I’m shocked to get a response. I’d assumed that I was clocked. The arithmetic is pretty straightforward, 1 non-vote for Trump is a vote closer to a Hillary presidency but that is begging for the usual diatribe meant to salve consciences. My main complaint this morning was re the way the house pet rag is passively encouraged to attack people on this site by never being reprimanded for over the top vulgarities and character assassination. This reflects the character of the site. He’s still here for a reason, I assume its to solicit more hits. So sure, not voting for Trump is not being pro-Hillary. Potato, potahto considering what’s at stake in this election.

“My main complaint this morning was re the way the house pet rag is passively encouraged to attack people on this site by never being reprimanded for over the top vulgarities and character assassination.”

I haven’t noticed you have any problem playing in this arena, so why complain? Rags is just what he is, a buffoon. And I’m quite sure that on another, personal level I’d get along with him just fine. Hey, and per his recent report, we’re the same height, but he’s fat and I’m not. So, there’s that. 🙂

jack burns in reply to Barry. | October 11, 2016 at 9:49 am

By being tolerated, he is the poster boy for the site. You lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas. So being the house dog whistle, he touts a point of view that refuses to contradict and oppose Clinton. Open borders and national sovereignty are THE issue and the house toad shills that Clinton does not even oppose that by dismissing any possible truth in the wikileaks dumps. “Real conservatives” is a false flag to fiddle while Rome burns. Our borders are wide open and the numbers coming in are greatly under-reported per the Border Patrol. Maybe you don’t see it in Chevy Chase, but in Arizona its a stark reality. So, the passive acceptance of open borders, sanctuary cities et al is nothing more than a contrivance and in-line with being a de-facto Democrat. Go ahead and celebrate your Hillary clown. It won’t be as funny when the court is gone.

jack burns in reply to Barry. | October 11, 2016 at 9:55 am

You actually believe what he says about his height? 5’7″ tops. He copped to being “fat”? If he he had a momentary lapse in lying double his response to morbidly obese, BMI >40. A slob in every sense.

This is about 3/4 pro-Trump site, 100% anti-Hillary. Neither makes it conservative. Can you appreciate a slight difference of opinion?

I do not imagine Margaret Thatcher would have complained about a man “looming” nearby.

She is a man hating lesbian, she is on record as telling many of the men assigned to protect her to stay the fxxk away from me, but never any women.
