The great coach, Lou Holtz, stated “Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.”

The 10% just happened. Now, we’ve the 90% to deal with. That’s our challenge. I have no doubts it will be a rough road to Election Day 2016.
We can pull together or pull apart.

Never heard that one. However, Woody Allen said “80% of success is showing up”. I think a lot of conservatives, myself including, will be missing at the polls in November.

I am not taking this election for granted. Suppose Hillary receives the nomination and something would happen to here, a medical issue for example. The Democrats come up with a candidate who would be much more appealing to the electorate than her.

Meanwhile, factions opposed to Trump have so “wounded” him that the the new Democrat candidate is nearly a shoo-in. For myself, I believe I owe it to Trump and the nation to do my best in supporting him, as miniscule as my efforts might be.

We are praying for America and those running for elected office that there might be a change in the direction this country has been on these past years.

You “owe it” to Trump? Come on.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to edgeofthesandbox. | July 19, 2016 at 9:33 pm

“Owe”in the sense of obligation. Trump is the GOP nominee. I support him. If I don’t act on these words then my words are nothing more than lip-service.

I wasn’t all that enthused about GWB. However, I much preferred him to Gore. The same with Romney. My disappointment after the second debate was considerable, yet I believed I owed him my support.

          Edgy ;
Dr. Carson at about 9:30 central time pointed out Hillary was a supporter of & wrote her senior thesis on Saul Alinski. He pointed out that Saul Alinski dedicated Rules for Radicals to Satan.

I’m again watching the NPR/PBS coverage. Dr. Carson’s reference caused Mark Maxi shield to melt down. He’s sweating bullets.

          Ain’t that Great?

          Second wind,
There are many things wrong with Alinsky, but I wouldn’t read too much into this dedication. Could it be dark humor? Was he really trying to tell us that he’s writing The Prince for anarchists/populists movements? After all, many on our side read Rules and learned from them.

AND didn’t The Don sleep with Mein Kampf by his side?

Suppose Hillary and Trump’s planes have a midair collision with each other? Or suppose a giant meteor strikes the Earth and wipes out all life. I’d actually be much more happy with either of those two scenarios than go whistling Dixie while voting for Trump.

Supporting Hillary and a permanently ultra left wing Supreme Court because that’s how butt hurt true conservatives roll. Riiiggggghhhhhttttt.

Then quit your bitching, and go home, now.

Well, that’s just stupid. Okay, I get you’d rather have Hillary in office but are you going to throw every down ticket race to the democrats as well?

tom swift in reply to DieJustAsHappy. | July 19, 2016 at 8:41 pm

No, the 10% happened eight years ago. And nobody’s since dealt with it terribly well.

Yes, you will now have to deal with your choice of Trump and the dire consequences.

VaGentleman in reply to jennifer a johnson. | July 20, 2016 at 3:33 pm

jennifer, since you offer no candidate, all Trump has to do to prove you a fool is do one thing better than Hillary. Just one thing and he is the better choice. One tax policy that’s better, one judge who is better, one less illegal immigrant, just one thing and he will have proven to be better than Hillary. It’s not about his character – we’re not electing a priest. It’s about the office of president and who will perform better at the duties of that office. It’s not who will be perfect, it’s who will be better. Because no matter how disgusted you are at the choices we have this year, one of the is going to be president. Sitting on the sidelines doesn’t make the bad man go away and it doesn’t make you morally superior. It only proves you aren’t adult enough to live in a free society where you have to make hard choices. You’re running away, not confronting the choice.

If Hillary is wins the election she will have a big problem. Bill had similar problem. His solution was to appoint Hillary to create their healthcare plan. Hillary will have a worse problem, since Bill was already president. He is really going to be a pain in the ass. always trying to tell her what to do.

So how does Hillary solve that problem?
Easy. She has an opening that would make Bill too busy to interfere.

So you can chose to help Trump ( no money, no time, just your vote ) or you can help to make
Supreme Court Justice William Jefferson Clinton.

Stains on Ruth Bader Ginsbergs black robe?

Get old Ruth Buzzy liquored up and do a Cosby on her why she naps.

tom swift in reply to RodFC. | July 19, 2016 at 8:38 pm

always trying to tell her what to do

I doubt that WJC has anything to say in that relationship. She calls the shots, and he chases after the interns and stays out of her way. And as long as he stays out of the papers, she doesn’t bug him about it.

Someone tweeting as Bethlehem Shoals would like to beat Pat Smith to death.

I heard that it is a tradition to let the candidate’s home state make the winning vote… Still it was nice to watch, a bit of history and all that. Donald Jr. making the announcement then weeping with joy. Sweet.

Word out of Wisconsin :
Scott Walker has endorsed Pauli Ryan. Stating Pauli is vital, being speaker, to Wisconsin’s interests. Asking for $110,000.00 in donations for the cause. Pauli has a $10,000,000.00 campaign war chest. Pauli is flooding the district & state claiming to be a “hawk” on immigration.

Another good thing about this election cycle. Isn’t it amazing how it’s driving the poser’s & frauds out of the closet & exposing them for what they truly are? With this, we get a twofer!

I think it’s more like Make America Laugh Again.

What a really wonderful night for Trump and GOP convention. All fight gone from the 10 kook nevertrumpers. Paul Ryan giving a speech highlighting all of Trump’s themes which he mostly opposes. Trying to pretend he is something he isn’t because his poll numbers have tanked. Wow forgot just what a lousy public speaker he is. No wonder he and Romney got trounced.

Cleveland police doing a great job outside and notice how the knowledge that everybody is carrying a gun has had a calming effect on professional protesters who like to get all tough and gang up on the unarmed like they did in San Jose. More guns less crime.

DieJustAsHappy | July 19, 2016 at 9:50 pm

Kemberlee,

“While we’re at it, why don’t we just trot out Judge Judy.”

I much prefer Judge Jeanie Pirro, who would do an outstanding job of taking Hillary to the wood shed.

I thought Christie was the speech of the night and then came Donald Trump Jr. and blew the night away with an amazing barn burner moving heartfelt speech supporting Trump and the NEW TRUMP GOP.

Chris Wallace and others rightly commented what we saw in Don Jr. was the new GOP. THE FUTURE OF TGE GOP! Cruz and all the wannabes better start learning how to be an America first populist/nationalist if they want a future.

Best convention night since REAGAN !

buckeyeminuteman in reply to JYLD. | July 20, 2016 at 1:57 pm

“And when we elect him, we’ll have done all that. We’ll have made America great again, greater than ever before.”

Jr. said that by electing his father we will make American greater than ever before. Greater than our founding fathers made it. Greater than when Lincoln held it all together. Greater than when America saved Europe from itself and 20 years later when it saved the world from Europe and Japan. Better than when we put a man on the moon or outspent the Soviet Union and they collapsed.

That’s what he said. Simply by voting for his father we will be better than anything we’ve done in our previous history. That’s an awfully big ego. Pretty pompous. In fact it twists my stomach to hear that somebody out there thinks they are better than anybody else in America’s history. We already have a President who thinks that way. Why would we want another one?

Common Sense | July 19, 2016 at 10:37 pm

The Trump kids both did a superb job with their speeches!

Don Jr and Tiffany.

JYLD a super post.

Make America great again!

In the biggest laugh from last night department. Remember how Colorado changed rules to avoid primary vote so they could install 40 Cruz crazed nevertrumpers by fiat. Remember how we were told it was alo done proper by the rules and not Cruz’s fault Trump people didn’t know how to work the rules?

Well in tales from big IRONY turns out Utah failed to follow the rules and file their paperwork last night so under the rules of the convention ALL 40 UTAH DELEGATES WENT TO TRUMP !

LOL. Priceless.

Tonight when Cruz speaks still running as the pure conservative Cruz will unwittingly bookend the closing of and final death of the globalist Goldman Sachs Conservative wing of the GOP. Cruz doesn’t yet realize that wing of the GOP will no longer exist after November. Irrespective of who wins. Cruz will be the leader of a minority of a minority of GOP voters.

Yeah, you are smarter than Ted Cruz. We can all see how smart you are:

The “smart” Trump supporters delighted in the fact that Ted Cruz was “not liked” by those in Washington – aka “the Establishment”, and at the same time strongly stated that Trump was an outsider and not “the Establishment.”

Now you show us your true colors. You delight in the demise of Conservatism and berate a fellow American who has served this country by protecting its freedoms against “the Establishment’s” status quo.

You subtract from America’s greatness and so does your orange candidate.

Ben Carson really brought it. Hillary == Saul Alinsky == Obama == Lucifer

And the connection to Obama is Michelle’s speech that plagiarized Rules for Radicals… The speech that the media just handed out to everybody to “gotcha” Melania Trump.

This is 17th level genius.
