Help me solve the riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma of the Orlando terrorist’s motives

Help me solve the riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma of the Orlando terrorist’s motives

There is one thing the regressive left knows – It’s the Christians’ fault.

When the Newtown school shooting took place, I was making the long car trek from Ithaca to Rhode Island.

And so it was as reports came out on Sunday about the Orlando Pulse gay night club terror attack.

As with the Newtown shooting, for the first several hours I had to rely on AM radio coverage — when it was available.

Since then, because I’ve been attending to family health matters, I have not had a lot of time to focus on the developments or write about it. Thanks to other Legal Insurrection authors for staying on top of the news reports and analysis.

Most of what I’ve learned has been from headlines and Twitter, which are basically the same thing. So I don’t want to jump to conclusions, or presume anything.

If I have any of the facts wrong, please let me know. I want to get this right. Here’s what happened, from what I can tell:

Omar Mateen was the Muslim American son of a radical Afghan firebrand, fell somewhere on the glorious spectrum of LGBTTQQIAAP and frequented the Pulse club, was under suspicion and was interviewed multiple times by the FBI for radical Islamist contacts, expressed admiration if not allegiance to Hezbollah and Al Nusra, sported at times an “I love Palestine” scarf, thought highly of the Boston Marathon bombers, and pledged allegiance to ISIS during a mid-attack phone call with police.

What could have been his motive? I’m at a loss. Makes no sense. We may never know for sure.

One thing the regressive left does know for sure: It’s the Christians’ fault, the nation’s biggest concern should be Islamophobia, and law-abiding citizens need to be stripped of their guns so they are as defenseless against the Mateens of the world as the people in the Pulse night club.

Do I have the scenario down?

You forgot to wsay that it’s Trumps fault too.

Of course it’s all Trump’s fault!

If Trump had followed the lead of Dubya, Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, Grover Norquist and all the other wise Republicans who know Islam is a religion of peace, the Moslems would all love America and this tragedy would never have happened.

Bush may have spouted that BS to the cameras, but he unleashed the full might of the US military to grind that scum, and he kept a kill list in his desk. Don’t misunderestimate him.

If a man says he’s a woman, then she’s a woman.

But if a Moslem calls 911 and says he’s killing for ISIS, then we’ll never know for sure what his motive was.

In case you might not be aware, I’ll pass this along to you. Rush Limbaugh was saying, today, basically what you stated.

Mybe, when the time comes, you could be his replacement!

The whole odd scenario does beg the question, what is the difference between a gay muslim and a straight muslim? The answer apparently is 2 beers.

Turns out that Omar wasn’t even in the club when the shootings took place The AR-15 got up from its bar stool and just started blasting.

Bob Ross Paints the Left’s Reaction to the Orlando Massacre:

Okay, so … we’re going to start with a very broad brush … and some bold, primary colors that will scream out from the canvas … I’ll mix in some more blood red … and we’re going to paint law-abiding American gun owners … using bold strokes … as the focal point in this landscape. You might want to hold the handle of the brush like it’s an assault rifle as you slap on the colors. Don’t be afraid if you slash the canvas a little in a fit of fury.

Okay. Now we’ll use a delicate, fine brush … I’ve actually used an x-acto knife to trim off most of the bristles … we want to be very careful and delicate as we paint Omar Mateen and radical Islamic jihadist terrorism into the background. Remember, we want the law-abiding gun owners and their guns to be the focal point that jumps off the canvas and assaults the viewers’ eyes in this landscape …

… so let’s carefully dip our fine brush ever so lightly … just the tip … into the paint when we go to lightly brush in Omar and Islam into the background. You’ll want to use the lightest pastels when doing this … you can see I’ve mixed in a lot of white … so Omar and Islam are barely noticeable in the background.

LukeHandCool (who marvels at the left’s paint-by-the-numbers, still-life way of painting … it never varies … it never changes)

Maybe the Left is correct on this, and we do need stricter laws.

So… which if any of these categories should be denied their rights under the Constitution…?

– Muslims
– LGBTQ
– Democrats

because Satan.

There, FIFY

“Do I have the scenario down?”

You left out the conclusion: It was the Baptists. They don’t like dancin and drinkin.

You the gist of the shooter.

Then there’s the guy who got out the only door, and forced it shut, behind him.

So naturally, this latest shooting and all the prominent commentary by our august politicians has led to some family discussions.

I find myself in need of a good link for statistics on the defensive use of guns.

I can point out all the logical reasons why “You are more likely to be killed by a gun you own than to kill an attacker with it.” is completely irrelevant and ludicrously misleading. But I’d prefer to be able to answer with some evidence on the number of lives saved by defensive use of guns — where use is often just brandishing, rather than killing an attacker.

I figured this would be a good place to ask.

Back when I was a member of the NRA (I quit because of the constant badgering for money for this or that “emergency”) their magazine, “American Rifleman” had a column of just that, problems solved with the presence of a firearm.

John Lott (http://www.johnlott.org/) has published several studies concerning the defensive use of firearms.

Remember the phrase the 9/10’ers? .ie – people who thought of the world in terms of pre-9/11 when it was unfathomable that such evil could strike as it did.

Well the left is guilty of living in a delusional not far from there.

The reality is you yourself are guilty of living in a world of nearly equal delusion, because you only think in terms of the damage these people have inflicted thus far. Thus far they have been idiots, not creative and limited in scope.

When a smart one hits us, it is going to hurt. The casualties will be in the tens of thousands. It might be biological or just a well orchestrated truck bomb, but it will leave a mark that makes 9/11 pale in comparison.

The door has been left open for too long and the evil has nested too deeply to change this reality.

One of the survivors was a young black girl named Patience Carter. She said that she heard the Muslim shooter say, “You know, I don’t have a problem with black people. This is about my country. You guys suffered enough.”

Omar Mateen called 911 and told the responder that he wanted America to stop bombing his country. Patience Carter said, “So the motive was very clear to us, who were laying in our own blood and other people’s blood, who were injured, who were shot… that we knew what his motive was.” She also said she heard him pledge support to ISIS.

She believed that it looked like Omar Mateen would not stop killing until he was killed and got his message out there.

Not much of an enigma there. The riddle is that Omar the Muslim was a homosexual, and knowing that Allah would punish with eternity in hell him unless he became a martyr, did so.

Professor..I believe you missed….

-The part about the ex-wife thinking he was gay.
-The part about the current wife driving him to buy the guns and scout the locations but did not inform the police (she pleaded with him instead).
-The part where Disney informed the FBI that the two were spotted scouting Disney World
-The part where he worked for a DHS contractor that transported illegal aliens across the border into the US.
-The part where coworkers said he was pulling out his prayer rug and praying in front of them.
-The part where Mateen made 2 trips to Saudi Arabia…

and there is much more….

But the media wants to make this a gay hate crime….never mind all the other stuff

Plus you don’t just pick up a Sig Sauer MCX and fire it without practice. So where did he shoot that weapon prior to Pulse?

murkyv in reply to PhillyGuy. | June 15, 2016 at 10:42 am

I can’t seem to find the piece again, but I saw an article about the shooter going to a range and blasting away to the point he hit one of the cables transporting the targets.

I’ll keep looking for that article.

It was the over-reaction of the Orlando police. Muslim Lives Matter (MLM)! The police were judge, jury, and executioner. They took out a peaceful Muslim who was merely asserting his constitutional right to carry arms, and who may have tripped, accidentally firing a few bullets (which can happen to anyone).

AG Lynch should have the Orlando police department investigated for infringing Mateen’s civil rights and the civil rights of Muslims generally.

Right on cue, Jeh Johnson announces that gun control is now an ‘essential element’ of homeland security.

When Sandy Hook failed to achieve the objective, it became necessary to up the ante. Just sayin…

As horrifying as it is to think it, you must think it.

There actually are some genuine unanswered questions about his motivations. The biggest question is what role, if any, homophobia played in this attack? In his choice of targets, was the fact that Pulse was a gay club play the primary factor, a secondary factor, or no factor at all?

It’s tempting to assume that he was motivated primarily by the homophobia he picked up from Islam, and perhaps self-loathing for being gay himself, and/or penitence for a homosexual past before he came to Allah, but there doesn’t seem to be any evidence for this.

It seems entirely possible that the choice of Pulse was purely for practical reasons, such as the fact that he knew it well, and was confident he could get in a position to take out many people before being stopped.

Oops. That a tag was meant to end sooner than that.

No mystery here. He is gay. Period.

Because he couldn’t come to terms with that fact that he would be disowned by his father if he came out, and that his family would hate and despise him forever. What is one to do in a culture that hates homosexuals so much, why kill yourself. And what better way than to do it in the name of Allah.

This really is not surprising.

Ragspierre in reply to Shane. | June 15, 2016 at 9:35 am

Not so fast! In Afghan Muslim culture, homosexuality is a feature, not a bug when it involves men on boys. So it’s by no means certain that this killer feared being “outed”.

I think that…like most of the rest of humanity…this killer had multiple reasons for doing what he did, with one or two being paramount. The whole jihadi thing is the obvious. As we get further afield from that, it becomes much more obscure and conjectural.

And the answer is: selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) antidepressants. Mass shootings over the past ten years from Columbine to Virginia Tech to Sandy Hook, Aurora, Navy Yard, Santa Barbara and most in between involved shooters with mental disorders medicated with SSRIs. Granted, the Fort Hood and San Bernadino shooting appear to be Muslim hate crimes – but this one doesn’t want to follow the radical Islamic pattern.

Omar Mateen displayed all the symptoms of mental illness. He was dominated by his radical father who hated gays and belonged to the religion that kills gays, so he became gay but covered it up with a marriage and showy attempts to go after women. Between the devil and the Koran, he drank too much and became violent.

His ex-wife Yusufiy has also said that Mateen beat her.”After a few months he started to beat me. He was mentally unstable … he was obviously disturbed. I know he had a history of steroids.”

Maybe the drugs were SSRIs.

Civil war is coming: pansy leftists like Obama, too wimpy to do the physical fighting, are recruiting the likes of felons (born in the US or abroad), loser college attendees and radical Islamists to do the fighting against the rest of us.

Shades of the Brownshirts. Make no mistake where we are in the process.

My great fear from this is that the RINOs will cave to “Some form of gun control”. The turtle has already said he would listen to the experts in the FBI and law enforcement. Didn’t the FBI follow this guy for a year and then declare him safe? Did they ever interview anyone who knew him? Everyone so far that knew him has said he was nuts and very dangerous. Where the hell was the FBI? I don’t want this biased group telling me what my rights are through their cloudy glasses. I can read them for myself in a little document called the US Constitution!

Wog’s gotta wog…

just slosh them with Martinis and lets be done with it.

Something happened at that club which motivated a personal vendetta against its occupants. This was only about his Islamic moral philosophy so far as it created a cognitive dissonance a la “make abortion not life”. The attack itself had a secular motive and cause sourced to the occupants of the club.

I, too, will go out on a limb…

Yes, Christ’s Commandment to love your neighbor as yourself is a most heinous threat. And its focus is Islam, the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ123… community, America and the world. No wonder the Left and its media arm are so apoplectic. This threat would make any registered Democrat go berserk, especially when Christianity has spread throughout the world and to places where people are hurting the most. Islamic threats of deadly violence are nothing compared to the Christian threat of love.

And, yes, the fact that citizens of American can own guns (and fossil fuel powered cars for that matter) must mean that these same citizens don’t give a damn about what the Left thinks. Ergo, a threat exists and it must be quashed with all violence to liberty so as to protect the Left’s “superior” thinking from ever being questioned (see also climate change).

So, it is easy to understand how the Left is so threatened by Christians and guns. Thinking makes it so. And it’s their professorial bathed thoughts that matter and not reality. Why, Islamic teaching is virtually innocuous compared to Christianity and this is thought to be so because Muslims are not Christians!

There is something terrifying under the bed waiting to get the Left. It is Christian love and American liberty.

“And the answer is: selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) antidepressants. Mass shootings over the past ten years from Columbine to Virginia Tech… involved shooters with mental disorders medicated with SSRIs. ”
I followed the Virginia Tech shootings very closely, and I never heard that Cho took SSRIs. He was once admitted to a mental hospital and then ordered to go to counseling, but he never did. He avoided all mental health centers and would never have accepted any kind of medication.

I read a story where his high school classmates watched him celebrating 9-11. So obama’s nonsense about radicalizing on the internet is somewhat nontruthful…to be polite for once.
He was a registered democrat, but the headlines don’t seem to mention that very often. We should ban democrats from owning guns.
If you’ve read any vets accounts of Thursday nights in Afghanistan you might have read about the men doing the boys sexually. So he has a parallel to them in his sexual orientation.
And the shooting was all the right wing Christians fault.
