Turkish officials have said the three Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) terrorists who attacked Atatürk Airport came from Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. They also identified the mastermind as Akhmed Chatayev from Chechnya. From Fox News:
Akhmed Chatayev was identified by the pro-government Yeni Safak newspaper as the organizer of the coordinated assault, which killed 44 and wounded more than 200 others at Turkey’s Ataturk Airport. Turkish officials did not immediately confirm he was involved in the attack, and it was unclear if Chatayev was one of the airport bombers, in custody or on the run.

Through the course of my daily interneting, I happened across a post that discussed the babies born in Dachau. Naturally, I had to check this out further. Their stories are amazing and too good not to share. First, the story of the babies pictured in the featured image:
In this image is 5 of 7 women (shortly after their liberation in Dachau) who were pregnant and had given birth, all during the Holocaust. Each woman is a miracle. Miriam Rosenthal (not pictured) survived Auschwitz before her arrival. Eva Fleischmanova (middle) survived two inspections by Josef Mengele.

You may have read Andrew McCarthy's excellent work at National Review, but you might not be aware that McCarthy is a former federal prosecutor and expert on Islamic terrorism. McCarthy offered some very enlightening and chilling testimony this week at a Senate hearing on Islamic terrorism which was led by Senator Ted Cruz. He described his testimony in vivid detail in a column at PJ Media:
Willful Blindness and Radical Islam: My Testimony On Tuesday, I was a panelist at the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing on “Willful Blindness: Consequences of Agency Efforts to Deemphasize Radical Islam in Combating Terrorism.” The hearing was held by the Subcommittee on Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts,” chaired by Senator Ted Cruz (R. Tex.).

Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton's top aide, stated that Clinton's private email server during her tenure as secretary of state frustrated the entire staff. It caused her to miss a phone call from the French foreign minister:
“She missed the call because . . . I never got the email giving us the signoff to do it [the meeting]. So she wasn’t able to do her job, do what she needed to do,” Huma Abedin testified Tuesday during a deposition in a lawsuit filed by a government watchdog.

There are many things that raise serious questions about the meeting between Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the husband of a woman under FBI investigation, namely Bill Clinton. As I wrote yesterday, Gross appearance of impropriety in AG Lynch private meeting with Bill Clinton:
Neither Lynch nor Bill Clinton are dummies. They both know that such a private meeting creates the appearance of impropriety regardless of what was discussed. Bill Clinton’s wife is being investigated by the FBI — why do you think he dropped in for a chat with Lynch? Of course they didn’t discuss the case. They didn’t need to. If there was no appearance of impropriety, why did Lynch wait until a local news crew, apparently tipped off, asked her about it?
I don't think enough media focus has been on the non-disclosure. If not for the media tip-off, no one would have known the meeting took place except for Lynch, Clinton, and security details. And none of them are going to go on the record, at least not now.

You may remember Bill Pullman's now iconic speech from the 1996 summer flick "Independence Day". Pullman played the role of American President, rallying a rag tag group of fighter pilots about to take on alien invaders. Twenty years later and the "Independence Day" sequel is in theaters. College Humor put together a video that imagines how media today would respond if an American President were to deliver Bill Pullman's Independence Day speech.

The result of the last week’s UK referendum has come as a boost to popular movements across Europe. Arguably the Europe’s most articulate proponent of the anti-EU movement, Netherland’s Geert Wilders has called for a Dutch referendum on EU membership following the British vote. Wilders, leader and founder of Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV), said in written statement that "the United Kingdom is leading the way to the future and liberation. The time is now for a new start, trusting in its own strength and sovereignty. Also in the Netherlands." Wilders believes that Brexit is merely the beginning of the end for the EU. “The Netherlands will be next,” he told the media after the result of the UK referendum was announced. “We want to regain control over our country, our own money, our own borders, our own immigration policy.”

Wow! Mika Brzezinski absolutely ripped into Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch today for holding a private meeting earlier this week. More importantly, the Morning Joe host clearly seemed to swipe at the rest of the media and punditry class for refusing to focus on the outrage. When Mark Halperin said "I bet you they didn't talk about" the FBI investigation of Hillary, Brzezinski literally laughed in his face. "Come on, stop! Everybody stop! Okay, well this is why this is never going to be a problem for Hillary Clinton. People are too afraid to talk about the truth." In a parting shot, Mika said "we'll just move on, just like everyone else does. Even though it's a complete sham."

It wasn't supposed to be this way for State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby.  When she abruptly brought criminal charges against six Baltimore Police Officers during riots, looting, and arson following the death of community drug dealer Freddie Gray she became an immediate media darling.  Profiles in Vogue quickly followed, as well as prominent speaking engagements (some of which she used as platforms for extrajudicial commentary on the pending trials, a serious breach of ethics). Interestingly, Mosby didn't call for justice, per se.  She called for particular forms of justice.  Justice for Freddie Gray.  Justice for "the people of Baltimore" and, remarkably, "the protestors across America" (!).  She called for justice for "those that are angry, hurt, or have their own experiences of injustice at the hands of police officers."  She wrapped by calling for justice "Last, but certainly not least, to the youth of this City. I will seek justice on your behalf. This is a moment, this is your moment."

In March of this year, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto compared Donald Trump to Hitler and Mussolini. At the time, Peña Nieto said that Trump's rhetoric was "the way that Mussolini arrived and the way Hitler arrived." At a press conference today with President Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, Peña Nieto, asked if he stood by those remarks, the Mexican president doubled down. He wordily replied that over decades, the world has made tremendous economic progress, but that "some" want to destroy what has been built. That is what Hitler and Mussolini did, said Peña Nieto. In concluding,  Peña Nieto said "that was my message" in March. Far from repudiating his attack on Trump, Peña Nieto repeated the Hitler/Mussolini comparison. Note also that although it is not in the transcript available to this Legal Insurrectionist, the MSNBC screen graphic has Peña Nieto saying, that some "demagogues" want to destroy what has been built over decades. Sounds like a clear allusion to Trump.

What do you call an Attorney General who meets privately with the husband of a person under FBI investigation, and only discloses it when asked? Loretta Lynch. This is the last straw for me, when it comes to Lynch. I opposed my former law school classmate's nomination because her congressional testimony indicated she would be too political. Events have confirmed my fears, from suggestions that "hate speech" might be prosecutable, to the threat to sue people who disagree with the administration on climate change, her political grandstanding on the North Carolina bathroom law, to the attempt to edit out references to Islam and ISIS from the 911 transcript of the Orlando terrorist.

The terrorist attack at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport left 41 dead, including 10 foreign nationals, and 239 injured. Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has said that the evidence they have points to the Islamic State as the culprits.

British Prime Minister David Cameron told Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn to leave his post, a day after his party passed a no confidence motion against him. "It might be my party's interest for him to sit there, it's not in the national interest and I would say, for heaven's sake, man, go!" he said at the House of Commons. (Video after the jump)

United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage, who also led the Brexit campaign, told off the European Union parliament with much glee on Tuesday. Britain voted to leave the EU in a historic vote last Thursday. He said:
"Isn't it funny. When I came here 17 years ago and I said I wanted to lead a campaign to get Britain to leave the EU, you all laughed at me but you are not laughing now," Mr Farage told Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).

While the doomsday scenario foretold by the EU campaigners and the liberal media of untold misery, political chaos and economic disaster befalling Britain -- if the country votes to leave the EU -- has yet to come to pass. Instead, the British stocks and pound have rallied back after tumbling down initially in the aftermath of the referendum. Even the liberal-minded Financial Times now admits that Brexit will be "neutral to moderately negative for the UK" but "devastating for the EU". The newspaper believes that it is Italy that Eurocrats now need to worry about -- not UK. Italy’s ailing banking sector has been drifting towards a crisis, forcing the government to roll out a $40 billion bailout plan this week. Though Brexit did not causing the crisis, as Italy already suffers from decapitalised banking system, high youth unemployment and sluggish growth. However, the departure of UK, EU’s second largest economy and its third biggest donor, could not have come at a worse time for the country. Nor could economic woes and public discontent in the country come at a less opportune time for EU, as Italy heads towards a constitutional referendum in October.

It's the same kind of elitism expressed by Brexit opponents who are casting Leave people as ignorant, parochial hicks . . . On today's Morning Joe, historian Jon Meacham disparaged Trump supporters as people who think with their "gut" instead of with their "head." After video rolled of Trump supporting waterboarding and saying we had to fight ISIS fire with fire, Meacham sniffed: "Democrats tend to seem to win the intellectual argument and Trump walks away with the emotional argument." Really? What was the "intellectual argument" won by Hillary, Obama and other Dems on the Russian reset, "leading from behind," the Syrian redline, the toppling of Gaddafi, the withdrawal of all troops from Iraq and the Iranian nuclear deal? How's this for an "intellectual argument"? Take your patronizing, condescending, elitism and shove it.
