Obama Administration Deposits $500 Million in UN’s “Green Climate Fund”

Obama Administration Deposits $500 Million in UN’s “Green Climate Fund”

Priorities!

We recently reported that Navy SEALs have confided that the Navy is so short of combat rifles that the SEALs have been forced to rotate rifles among returning and deploying teams.

On the other end of the financial spectrum, the Obama Administration had just deposited the first installment of a planned $3 Billion into the United Nation’s Green Climate Fund.

At a time when Republican opposition to President Barack Obama’s climate change initiatives is growing, the U.S. government announced Monday that it had deposited $500 million into the United Nations-backed Green Climate Fund (GCF). The payment marks the first tranche of the $3 billion the U.S. pledged for the GCF in 2014.

“This grant is the first step toward meeting the president’s commitment of $3bn to the GCF, and shows that the United States stands squarely behind our international climate commitments,” a State Department spokesman said Monday.

Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso slammed the administration’s handover of the monies, asking a State Department official how the “handout to foreign bureaucrats” could be justified at a time when there were “real problems”….such as a shortage of ammunition to troops dealing with Islamic terrorists.

…Barrasso told Deputy Secretary for Management and Resources Heather Higginbottom he viewed the payment to the “new international climate change slush fund” – the first installment of a $3 billion pledge – as both a misuse of taxpayer dollars and a violation of legislation that prohibits federal agencies from spending federal funds in advance or in excess of an appropriation.

“It appears to be latest example of the administration going around Congress because the American people don’t really support what the president is doing with this initiative,” he said.

….“There was a debate in Flint the other night and I just think it’s hard to explain to taxpayers in struggling communities across our country – even places like Flint – that the president and this administration is willing to give $500 million as a handout to foreign bureaucrats instead of addressing real problems here at home.”

Barrasso and 36 other GOP senators warned that they would block taxpayer funds for the GCF “until the forthcoming international climate agreement is submitted to the Senate for its constitutional advice and consent.” However, Obama maintains that the agreement reached in Paris does not require additional Senate advise and consent.

I suspect that, ultimately, the entire $3 Billion will be deposited into the UN fund as part of the wealth distribution scheme that is the Paris Climate Agreement.

But, perhaps sensing the mood of the American people as expressed in our primary voting results, our congressional representatives might find a little ink in their own pens and cancel the next installments?

For the time being, goats and yurts for Mongolian herders seem to be a much higher budget priority than guns and ammunition for our troops.

Wanna bet it finds its way to the Clinton Foundation coffers. Trickle down politics.

I really want to know who gets that money. The green initiative in the US went through companies to bankruptcy to cronies in short order.

    Mongolia…ice interactions.

It goes towards those super “smart” scientists that know better than all their peers, so they can create more questionable hockey stick charts with obscure data.

Anyone with a few functioning brain cells will be astonished at the locations of the data sources they rely on. I looked into this about 8 years ago when Al Gore was still bloviating about manatees in Atlanta and no polar ice caps. Approximately 60% of the weather monitoring stations that feed data to the NOAA are near highways, parking lots, airports, and large cities that retain or give off heat.

The Dollars go right down the rathole into the UN maze of tyrants and despots and eventually funds the ISIS Global Climate Change initiative.

Yes. As has been pointed out repeatedly the UN is not a world gov’t. It’s a club for the Executive branch of the world’s nations.
        And most are sketchy.

Why commit to surgical strikes against known murderous terrorist organizations when “green” money can be used to fight the rarefied interactions of gender and ice in underdeveloped nations?

This first volley of $500 million shows that we care about what terrorist climate does to people. And even though climate has been around for billions of years, climate’s jihad has only just begun. If you don’t agree with climate change terrorism AG Lynch will have you in court for being a denier. So, wise up America. Climate Change is more important than cyber warfare, man-made terrorism, nuclear proliferation, new strains of viruses…

Did congress authorize this expenditure? Do these words sound familiar to anyone?

No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law;

Tyrant Obama the Liar already stole nearly a billion dollars for Democratic front groups. He extorted $17+ billion from BoA and gave nearly a billion to his buddies.

$500 million for a faith that he sincerely holds. $500 billion to throw grandma off the cliff. Progress.

Numerically negative progress, which should be good for the valuation of capital and labor. Except that it is in fact chaotic, subject to sudden, unpredictable (e.g. unknown, uncharacterized) state changes in mood.

And the stupid media wonders why voters are angry today?
Open your eyes idiots!

And GOPe wonders why RINO legislators are despised by Repub registered voters and (increasingly) formerly Repub-registered voters.

Get the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN!

I remember when it was only the John Birch Society that was chanting that mantra and how they were considered extremist. Sort of like how the Tea Party is considered today.

RINO Kabuki Theater as Boehner/Ryan put the money in the bloated deficit busting budget when they caved to Obama’s agenda in 2015.

You misspelled Bribes and Pay Off.
Watch maobama become Secretary General of the U.N. after he leaves office.
Screwing up America is not enough.

I’d bet some of that money will be waiting for Obama when he leaves office (not that there’s anybody monitoring his finances were he to embezzle money today).

Look, he’s cleaned up the water in Flint, Michigan and the citizens of California and Florida are zipping along the high-speed rails Obama built, and he single-handedly stopped the seas from rising.

So what’s a little payola to the UN?

The U.S. Constitution gives the House of Representatives the power of the purse. Perhaps it should exercise it?
